00:00Next sporting event we're going to talk about is a Saturday afternoon game.
00:03It's 12 o'clock kickoff, ACC style.
00:06The Miami Hurricanes taking on the SMU Mustangs.
00:09This line opened up, Joe, at 11 and a half.
00:11Some books as high right now as 12 and a half and a total of 50 and a half.
00:15The Miami Hurricanes took off that stink of that terrible defeat against Louisville at home as 14-point favorites
00:20and actually covered the spread late in the game against Stanford.
00:24Boy, oh boy, if you watched that or had that line, that was pretty impressive.
00:26Miami just kept running the football, even though they could have just taken a knee.
00:31Maybe getting some of that mojo back.
00:33The spread line for Miami SMU for you, Joe, is what?
00:37Well, Donnie, this, be very, tread carefully here because you had said it right off the bat there.
00:44This game opened up minus 10, double digits for Miami who are about to go on the road
00:50and leave the state of Florida for the first time, Donnie, this year.
00:55And they're going to go to SMU, everyone's favorite, who just had their conference win streak
01:00blown up by Wake Forest, and they looked absolutely horrific doing so.
01:06But now we already know the history here of the Miami, the U,
01:15and going on the road and laying these big numbers.
01:19Like, do we trust Mario Cristobal all of a sudden to cover spreads like this, Donnie?
01:23You're a U guy.
01:25Tell me how this goes from 10 to now I'm seeing 13, 13 and a half in the marketplace.
01:32This could be the ultimate head fake.
01:34Everybody driving this up early in the week, Donnie,
01:37only to come back and take SMU at the peak of it come once the limits open up,
01:43which will be tomorrow or Thursday.
01:45I cannot believe what I'm seeing with this line.
01:48The U on the road expected the win.
01:52Sometimes not the best scenario cooked up here,
01:54but Miami still a top 10 football team bounce back with a victory over Stanford.
01:57We'll see what they do this weekend.
01:59The world's largest outdoor cocktail party is set to be played once again in Jacksonville,
02:04Georgia versus Florida.
02:06The line in this game opened up, Joe, seven and a half.
02:09We're still sitting at seven and a half right now.
02:10The total of around 50 and a half.
02:12Florida with a fired coach fired up for this game to take on Georgia.
02:17What's the spread line here for you, Joe?
02:19Well, it's interesting, Donnie.
02:21All right.
02:21So it opened up seven and a half and you're telling me it's still seven and a half.
02:24I just told you Miami moved this line three points in 24 to 48 hours.
02:29And yet all I'm seeing is tickets on, uh, tickets on Georgia in this one, Donnie.
02:35So why is this line not moving?
02:37Well, it's not moving because there is significant respected money early here backing Florida,
02:44which is why this line is frozen right now, Donnie.
02:47It's seven and a half.
02:48So keep an eye on this one.
02:50Of course, seven is a key number here, but right now it's not moving in Georgia's favor
02:55because there is significant sharp action holding it at seven and a half on Florida.
03:00Can DJ Lagwe pull off the upset?
03:03We will find out on Saturday.
03:05Also another Saturday game in the SEC.
03:07It's a night game on Rocky top.
03:09It's Oklahoma taking on Tennessee.
03:11This line opened up at three and a half.
03:13Most outlets now sitting at three and a half and or three and a total of 56 and a half.
03:18A lot to be determined here in the SEC.
03:20As you see both teams, six and two needing victories to keep their playoff hopes alive.
03:25Oklahoma, Tennessee on Rocky top.
03:27The spread line for this, Joe, is what?
03:28Well, I'm going to be keeping an eye on this line, Donnie, all week long here.
03:34You have an Oklahoma defense that is lights out, and we know that.
03:39And unfortunately, they couldn't get it done at home.
03:42Why?
03:42Because while Mateer and this offense is not that good,
03:46and it has not been that good now, unfortunately, for him.
03:49So we've got a better defensive team on the road getting points here.
03:55I think the public is going to run to the window and back Tennessee.
03:59I think they're going to pile on to Tennessee, especially after Oklahoma now has had a couple
04:04of defeats, and the offense doesn't look good.
04:08I'm going to wait to see exactly where this line goes.
04:11If it grows any higher, Donnie, I am going to be looking to back OU here.
04:15But I think the public is absolutely going to jump all over Tennessee.
04:18Yes, week 10 of the college football season, but don't you fret, people.
04:23Like, ooh, college football is just about over.
04:24Not necessarily.
04:25We're in the month of October, Joe.
04:27You get a full November, you get a full December, and you get a full January of college football.
04:31So still three months in this epically long season.
04:34Why?
04:35Thank you for the college football extended playoffs.
04:37A lot more energy and a lot to talk about, and a lot more meaningful football games,
04:40which starts this weekend for us, Joe, at noon.
04:43The big noon kickoff, which we probably thought was going to be a much closer game,
04:46or at least a much closer spread at the beginning of the season.
04:49Penn State versus Ohio State.
04:52The total crashing down from a 47.5 to a 42.5 at some outlets.
04:57The side opened up at 17.5.
04:59Now we're seeing it closer to three touchdowns and a 20.5 point favorite for Ohio State.
05:047-0, number one team in the nation, taking only three and four Penn State team that had championship aspirations.
05:10Now bowl eligibility is basically what their goal is.
05:14They ain't winning at the shoe this weekend.
05:15The only question is, how badly will they get beat beat in there, Joe?
05:19How bad, huh?
05:20Yeah, and that's a huge question, Mark.
05:24And the answer is likely more than three touchdowns, Donnie, especially at the shoe.
05:30And this is right up Ryan Day's alley.
05:32If you think he is not going to keep his foot on the throat here and just put away Penn State,
05:38you're out of your mind.
05:40Now, he did it when Franklin was there.
05:42He had no problem doing it.
05:44I don't think it'll be an issue here, especially given the fact that the turmoil inside that locker room
05:51with kids losing to coach and now may decide to go elsewhere.
05:55I think Ohio State rolls and will not stop rolling in this game against Penn State.
06:01Yeah, it just feels that way, too.
06:03Like, it's not that Penn State can't compete.
06:05They have talent.
06:06They have really good running backs and a solid defense.
06:08But when you're going up against the number one defense in the country,
06:10how many points is Penn State going to score with their backup quarterback?
06:1313 at most.
06:14And you know that Ohio State's probably going to be in the 30s.
06:17It's just what they do.
06:18We'll see how that game turns out.
06:19But a three touchdown favorite for Ohio State in the shoe.
06:22We'll see how much gas that defense turns up with this weekend for Ohio State.
06:277.30 start in the SEC.
06:29Oklahoma taking on Tennessee.
06:31Line opened up at 3.5, Joe.
06:33Just about every outlet.
06:34Threes to 3.5 in that total at 56.5.
06:37As we talked about earlier in some of those spread lines.
06:39Both of these teams, 6-2.
06:42It's going to go a long way to decide.
06:43Somebody's out of the college football playoff.
06:45Somebody's still playing for the college football playoff at the end of this one.
06:48Yeah, it's, I mean, this is a big game for OU without a doubt here.
06:54Now, they will have the best defense on the field.
06:57But the question is, you know, John Mateer, not exactly great offensively for the Sooners
07:04since he came back from the hand injury, Donnie, right?
07:07And now they got to go against these Tennessee Vols,
07:11who we know are going to want to throw the ball.
07:13Aguiar has been great for them.
07:15You know, they're going to want to make it a shootout.
07:17And OU is going to be like, absolutely not.
07:20So I do think the public is going to look at Tennessee,
07:23look at what they've seen from Oklahoma and go,
07:26yeah, Oklahoma is a bit of a fraud here.
07:28I like Tennessee.
07:30I'm hoping the line gets up another point here or so, Donnie,
07:33because I will be looking to jump in on OU in this one.
07:37How about Vanderbilt?
07:38Used to playing games specifically at home under three-point spreads
07:42and coming away victorious.
07:43They're going to go on the road to take on Texas,
07:45fresh off of a big-time comeback victory,
07:47but maybe without their starting quarterback, Arch Manning.
07:50However, Texas did open up as a look-ahead line, Joe, at three and a half.
07:53That line has gone down to one and a half as a favorite towards Texas.
07:56And look at this total, 44 and a half.
07:59Diego Pavia on the road.
08:01We don't know who the Texas quarterback is going to be.
08:03Can Vandy pull out yet another surprise?
08:05Or does Texas just have too much on defense?
08:08They can keep this game close and knock off the Commodores.
08:10Yeah, at home, I mean, listen, whether Arch plays or does not play,
08:16I still think Texas is the right side here, Donnie.
08:20But, you know, we had mentioned it.
08:21Vandy has become, you know, the big story in college football, right?
08:25Diego Pavia, everyone's favorite Heisman winner.
08:28And the problem is he hasn't looked all that great throwing the ball
08:31over the last couple of games.
08:32That game against Missouri was not good.
08:34And they were fortunate enough because Missouri's quarterback got knocked out
08:39of that game in the second half.
08:40So I think it's just a matter of time when a really good defense,
08:45elite defense at that with Texas at home ends up getting the victory here.
08:50So I don't care if Manning plays or doesn't.
08:53Matthew Caldwell, the backup, could be just as good as Manning needs to be.
08:59I'll look for Texas in this one.
09:01Yeah, one to keep an eye on there to see if you can.
09:03But typically in pro sports in college now, you get that concussion the week before.
09:07It's very rare that you play the next week unless you put a little malpractice out there
09:11on a must-win situation, which really it is for Sark and the team.
09:13But they are slightly favored over.
09:16Look, I'm rooting for Vandy.
09:17But every week, like that little engine that could keep on piling up the victories.
09:20But they play in the SEC.
09:21They don't get the balance of playing in the ACC.
09:23Like, hey, play one good game here.
09:24And then six weeks later, you get another good game.
09:26Every week in the SEC is a grinder.
09:28We'll see if they can pull out a victory on the road in a tough spot down in Texas.
09:32Cincinnati and Utah.
09:34This line opened up, Joe.
09:35Look ahead at seven and a half.
09:36It's going higher and higher.
09:38We're close to double digits now.
09:39Most outlets showing back a nine and a half.
09:41And the total in this game listed at 55 and a half.
09:44The seven and one Bearcats on the road at six and two Utah.
09:49Donnie, this was one of the biggest steam jobs yesterday.
09:53This money coming in on Utah, moving this thing to two and a half points has been crazy.
09:59And it's still coming in, in fact.
10:01So Cincinnati not getting any love, but it's not a shock, Donnie, because Cincinnati wasn't
10:06getting a whole lot of love.
10:07They didn't get it last week against Baylor.
10:09It feels like the market keeps waiting for the wheels to fall off of Cincinnati.
10:14And yet they just keep going out there and delivering.
10:18Sorsby has been absolutely phenomenal at quarterback.
10:22Not so much for Utah.
10:25This is a tricky spot for Cincinnati, though.
10:27So Notre Dame and Boston College told you after those first two games, two good opponents.
10:33Boston, or excuse me, Notre Dame lost those games.
10:34But one of the easier schedules you're going to find continues here.
10:37Notre Dame is on the road, Joe.
10:39I know this isn't a misprint.
10:41Minus 28 and a half for the fighting Irish going up against BC.
10:44Why?
10:45Because BC is one and seven and BC stinks.
10:47Run them up the flagpole, fighting Irish fighting their way into the college football playoff.
10:53No, they don't just think they're off.
10:54I mean, Louisville should have beat them by 30 last week.
10:58They outgained them by, I think, about 300 yards of offense.
11:02And that's about what's going to happen here with Notre Dame.
11:06But Notre Dame's defense has gotten better and better each week.
11:10This is, and they have no problem, Donnie, making statement games here, Notre Dame,
11:16given the fact they have a couple of losses.
11:18Expect a blowout in a big way in this game.
11:21Look at those two running backs just continue to hand it off.
11:24Price and Love probably go for 100 yards apiece and multiple touchdowns apiece in this game.
11:2928 and a half point favorites as Notre Dame still stays in that number 12 hole.
11:33They're going to continue to stay there.
11:35They will make the college football playoff.
11:43We can go baseball.
11:45We can go hockey.
11:46We can go basketball, Joe.
11:47Where are you going tonight?
11:48Maybe college football?
11:50What?
11:50Yeah, thanks, Tommy Edmund, for the ball going under the glove on an easy double play in the fourth inning.
11:56But I digress, because tonight we're going back to if it ain't broke, Donnie, we ain't fixing it.
12:04Give me the boys from Kennesaw State laying 10 points here tonight against UTEP Texas Ailed Pass.
12:12So, listen, UTEP has gotten a little bit better offensively with the quarterback change with Skylar Locklear.
12:19But Kennesaw State has been an absolute ATM machine, Donnie, over the last couple of months.
12:25They have now delivered four straight ATS wins for us.
12:30In fact, Kennesaw State's only two losses, Donnie, you ready?
12:33They are to unbeaten Indiana, and they lost by just one point to Wake Forest.
12:38My numbers make this a two-touchdown win here for Kennesaw State.
12:43UTEP's defense, not the best, but their offense is nowhere near what Kennesaw State's is.
12:50I love Kennesaw State in this spot.
12:52I think they keep it rolling, Donnie.
12:54They're going to lock up the division here, the conference, and I think they get it done by two touchdowns here tonight against UTEP.
