00:00Let's get to some of those top spread lines.
00:01You need to know before we actually get there.
00:03The 19th, Joe, that's a Friday night.
00:06See, Friday night.
00:07Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:0811 a.m. on a Friday.
00:10Kennesaw State, Western Michigan, wake up with a cup of coffee
00:13and knock down a football game.
00:15As we see Western Michigan favored by about three and a half points
00:17and a total of 48 and a half.
00:19It's ball season, Joe.
00:20Time to get married.
00:21What is your spread line for this game?
00:24The Myrtle Beach Bowl.
00:25You got to love this, Donnie.
00:2711 a.m. on a Friday.
00:29You're going to have some football.
00:31And can I tell you, Donnie, this might be one of the more exciting
00:34and motivated football games that we see in bowl season.
00:38Why?
00:39Because neither of these two teams were expected to be here.
00:43Kennesaw State has never been to a bowl game, first and foremost.
00:47They just got to the FBS level last year.
00:51And Western Michigan hasn't, has, I think, just one bowl game
00:54in the last decade.
00:56So nobody has opted out.
00:58Everybody wants to play in this game.
01:00And this, Donnie, is what bowl season, what these two represent,
01:05is supposed to be all about.
01:07And we saw Western Michigan, your MAAC champion there,
01:10open up four, four and a half.
01:12But the Kennesaw State money has been coming in down to a field goal now.
01:17The total, as well, also getting a little bit of love.
01:2149 and a half was the open.
01:2247 and a half starting to pop up.
01:25So the one thing I can say is we're probably going to get a little more defense
01:29with Western Michigan in this one than we're used to seeing in these bowl games.
01:34But I think this is going to be a close one, Donnie.
01:36But I do agree with the move to the under on the total because both these teams,
01:41they've not been here and done this before.
01:44Now, is this game being played in Myrtle Beach or just sponsored by Myrtle Beach?
01:48Like, where's the game at?
01:49Is that at Coastal Carolina or where is this game?
01:51Do we know?
01:52Presented by Engine.
01:54I don't even know what that is.
01:56But, yes, Donnie, I would be hard-pressed not to play this game in Myrtle Beach
02:00and call it the Myrtle Beach Bowl.
02:02That would be great.
02:03It's in Virginia, actually.
02:04That would be fantastic.
02:06Alabama and Oklahoma, Joe, this is a Friday Night Football game
02:10you're going to have to watch here.
02:11And you take a look at the favorite here.
02:12It's actually Alabama at a minus one and a half to minus one,
02:15depending where he's shopping at, roughly a pick-em.
02:17And a total, look at this one, 40 and a half points here, Joe.
02:21Spread line for Alabama-Oklahoma to open the college football playoff season is what?
02:26Donnie, watching this line over the last week,
02:29it is crazy the amount of flip-flopping going on.
02:32And at half the books, half the books have it as maybe a pick-em.
02:37Then they shade to Oklahoma.
02:38The other half, of course, shade to Alabama.
02:41We're starting to see a little bit more Bama love in the marketplace.
02:45One, one and a half in some spots.
02:48But you're right with that total, Donnie, right?
02:5040 and a half.
02:51We're talking about Alabama here.
02:5440 and a half.
02:55I can't think of a bigger game, Donnie,
02:58that is correlated to the total than this one.
03:01If you like Alabama, this game is likely going over.
03:05If you like Oklahoma, Donnie,
03:07this game is likely staying under the 40 and a half.
03:10Yeah, I don't know if we see 21 points from Oklahoma in the first half in this game.
03:14Quite frankly, I don't know if we see 21 points for Oklahoma in the entire football game.
03:18But you never know.
03:19They're going to play for a big-time event.
03:20And also, is this the Kalen DeBoer Bowl where he wins, he stays at Alabama, he loses, he heads to another place?
03:26Certainly going to have to find out on that.
03:27Tulane and Ole Miss, Joe.
03:28Another game we're going to take a look at for the college football playoff, 3.30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon.
03:34Tulane's going to travel to Ole Miss.
03:35That line opened up around 16 and a half.
03:37That's punched through.
03:38That's 17 number.
03:39Now up to 17 and a half with a total of 56 and a half.
03:43Can Tulane keep this close?
03:44We're looking at a blowout for Ole Miss without Lane Kiffin.
03:47Joe, your spread line here is what?
03:49Well, we're starting to see.
03:50I mean, this was 16 and a half and it opened, Donnie.
03:53We have to start to see the Ole Miss money.
03:55And listen, the public is never going to take Tulane because they're going to be like,
03:59didn't they play earlier this year and didn't they get blown out?
04:03Yes, they did.
04:03But keep in mind, they played back in September.
04:07This Tulane team is not the same team that was back in September when they played Ole Miss.
04:13So there's a feeling and a consensus that maybe Tulane believes they have a much better shot in this one than they did in September.
04:22I mean, listen, the coach is there.
04:25Ratsleff is there.
04:26The quarterback, everybody is, they're all in here and there's no Lane Kiffin.
04:31That's the big difference here.
04:33Will it matter?
04:34I think we're going to start seeing Tulane money sooner rather than later before kick.
04:39So grab as many points as you can if you want Tulane because I don't think we're going to be getting 17 and a half by the time it's kickoff.
04:47Joe, they like to say it's five o'clock somewhere, right?
04:49No matter what time across the globe, somebody's just getting off work, ready to pop open a beer, sit back, relax, and watch some football.
04:55And you can do that tonight at five o'clock.
04:58There is a bowl game.
04:59It's ODU and it's South Florida.
05:01The Staff DNA Cure Bowl.
05:03Don't miss this one, Joe.
05:04And by the way, lines are moving.
05:06Opening line around six and a half for South Florida, Joe.
05:09I'm seeing two and a halves across the marketplace now as still a favorite for South Florida.
05:14ODU only getting 30% of the tickets, Joe, with the market coming down, now a 52 also, down from a 56 and a half.
05:23Are we expecting defense or is it just what the heck are we getting out of South Florida?
05:26And we don't know.
05:28Yeah, well, that's the problem.
05:30I mean, Donnie, you know, I had mentioned this the other day.
05:33I wish this game had both full rosters and coaching staffs, right?
05:38Because this would have been one wild game to see happen.
05:42But both teams have dynamic dual threat quarterbacks that won't be here.
05:47Colton Joseph, we told you there for ODU, has opted out, hit the transfer portal.
05:52And Byron Brown, also out.
05:55And these guys are very important to what these teams did all year because they are thousand yard rushers in addition to slinging the ball all over the field.
06:04But don't forget, South Florida doesn't have their head coach.
06:06And by the way, most of the offensive staff left with him, including the OC.
06:13So the backup quarterback does have a Gaston Moore.
06:18He's got 40 yards on 21 total pass plays in relief this year.
06:23That's your starter for South Florida.
06:25So I think this game is going to be all on the ground, Donnie.
06:28Both teams still can run the ball.
06:31And I believe that's why we're starting to see a little under money.
06:34I would only play the under here.
06:36So many question marks with South Florida.
06:39And ODU has a more capable backup quarterback in there.
06:43But the reality is they're not going to be throwing the ball all over the place.
06:47That, you know, that takes practices and reps.
06:49And no, they're going to run the ball.
06:52This is going to be all about the trenches.
06:54Only an under for me here tonight.
06:55How about Louisiana and Delaware tonight?
06:59Get a load of this.
07:00The 68 Ventures Bowl.
07:02It's going to be game number two tonight at 8.30 p.m. Eastern.
07:05Joe, and the favorite, Louisiana at minus two and a half to three, depending where you're shopping at.
07:09And the total in this game that is listed at 62 and a half.
07:12And by the way, that opening number, Joe, 55 and a half.
07:15Points are expected.
07:16Not a lot of punts tonight.
07:17Louisiana and Delaware.
07:19What are we looking at?
07:19Another one of these games, Donnie, and they're few and far between the bowl games where there are no significant player opt-outs in this game.
07:29So what you saw during the regular season is what you're going to get here.
07:33Now, what we did get is a lot of mediocre football.
07:36But Louisiana Lafayette was an absolute train wreck to start the season until they made the quarterback change in week five.
07:44And who did they go to?
07:46Lunch Winfield, baby.
07:48That's right.
07:48Lunch Winfield came under center.
07:50Yes.
07:51And Lafayette, all of a sudden, started being able to put some points on the board.
07:57Listen, Delaware's defense is not very good.
08:00Their offense is all about Nick Minucci.
08:03This kid throws the ball all over the place.
08:05I mean, 482 passes, Donnie, but he only threw seven interceptions.
08:10So this kid is, he can swing it, and he's going to have to here.
08:14I agree with the, listen, there's going to be a lot of points in this game.
08:18Are we getting 62?
08:20It feels like maybe this is a good time to back the under in these bowl games because it really is all about next year for both these teams.
08:30Shout out to the Italian Stallion, a quarterback tonight for those Delaware hens here.
08:34Let's keep it moving, Joe.
08:35Missouri State and Arkansas State.
08:37This game's going to take place tomorrow night at 9 p.m.
08:39The Xbox Bowl.
08:40So if I'm a kid playing, you know you're getting an Xbox, probably multiple controllers, and also, more importantly, multiple games as well.
08:47We'll see who wins this one.
08:48Missouri State versus Arkansas State.
08:50Opening line was about 2.5 for Arkansas State.
08:52That's dropped a little bit now, minus 1.5 in the total, down from 56.5, Joe, and we're seeing 54.5.
08:58The Xbox Bowl tonight, Missouri State, Arkansas State.
09:03Yeah, you got to love this one, right, Donnie, because we have seen a little bit of love in the marketplace, and you got to love an Xbox Bowl, right?
09:11I mean, I want to do the kids, are they allowed to get Xbox?
09:14Let's just play it on the Xbox.
09:16Yeah, you know what, Donnie?
09:18I love that.
09:19Also, this is another one of those motivational games here where, yeah, neither of these two teams have a whole lot of defectors here.
09:27I mean, this is, Donnie, exactly what bowl season's supposed to be about, right?
09:32Two teams that don't get an awful lot of bowl love.
09:35Two teams that don't have to worry about guys running into the portal.
09:38Two experienced head coaches here.
09:41This one is going to be good, but you're going to sense a theme here.
09:44I do like Arkansas State.
09:46They are the more experienced team.
09:49But, again, if you're expecting wild, crazy shootouts, not necessarily the case in a lot of these games.
09:55I might be looking at the under as well.
09:58Have you ever seen, Joe, one of those gaming conventions where they have, like, let's just say, I don't know, World of Warcraft or whatever it's called,
10:03where they have, like, an arena, and they have all the competitors with different TVs playing on the floor?
10:07Remember, understand this, Joe.
10:09In this bowl game, what happens if we just sent the kids in, we had the football field out there look nice, but we set up tables.
10:15Every player got their own TV and their controller where they can play themselves.
10:19So you would actually play the game 11 on 11.
10:21Like, if you're a D tackle, you just play your own position as the D tackle.
10:25If you're the right guard and you've got to line up against that D tackle on the other side, you've just got to handle your own business at this point.
10:30The quarterback plays quarterback.
10:32It would be, actually, you know what, Joe?
10:34I would watch that as opposed to the bowl game itself.
10:36How about that?
10:37But, hey, maybe we get that in the future here as things start to move on.
10:41Kennesaw State, Western Michigan, Joe, we've heard you say all year long how much you like Kennesaw State.
10:45Is it down for one last ride for Joe Ranieri on Kennesaw State in 2025 as they're getting three and a half in this game?
10:52I, listen, it's a toss-up game, although we've seen Kennesaw State getting some love here with the hook available.
11:00It was four and a half, but we've also seen that total start to come down here.
11:05And there's no reason to think that this is going to be a wild shootout.
11:09And we know Kennesaw State, they're better offensively than they are defensively.
11:14But, my goodness, that Western Michigan defense was underrated all year long.
11:18Those Broncos have been outstanding.
11:22So, if you like Western Michigan, you like the under, Donnie.
11:26If you like Kennesaw State, boy, is this game flying over the total.
11:29So, Friday night, Memphis and NC State, Joe, NC State holding strong as a four and a half point favorite, a total of 58 and a half.
11:37Two teams that I actually recognize here, Joe.
11:39Who's recognized as the winner when it's all said and done, though?
11:43Best part about this is the Gasparilla part, Donnie.
11:47Get a mortgage and have a Gasparilla.
11:49Yeah, you get a bunch of people hanging out on pirate ships out before the game.
11:55That is really, who knew everyone had pirate outfits?
11:59Nobody is playing for either team here, by the way.
12:02Nobody.
12:03By the way, the kids get a free refund.
12:05They're going to waive their closing costs if they win the game.
12:07Fantastic.
12:08I love that.
12:09College football playoff.
12:10Yeah, it's on the horizon.
12:12It's going to start Friday night.
12:13You got Alabama traveling to Oklahoma in a one-point game here in a low total, some windy conditions.
12:18But Alabama, Oklahoma, sign me up.
12:20I want to watch it.
12:21I want to cheer it on.
12:22And I want to bet it here, Joe.
12:23But if we are taking a look at the college football championship odds to win it all,
12:27it still starts with Ohio State, even though we just saw Ohio State, Joe, take a loss to Indiana.
12:33Indiana at a plus 310 price, followed by Georgia and Texas Tech and Oregon and Texas A&M.
12:38Looking at those price points right now, do you agree that Ohio State should still be the favorite right now to win the college football playoff?
12:46Yes.
12:47I mean, you know, that game aside there against Indiana, which, by the way, they had an opportunity, you know, with a chip shot field goal that, you know, the kicker shanked.
12:58That game would have gone to overtime, and they were very much in it to win it at that point.
13:03So, and plus Ryan Day experience-wise, I mean, they're the champs, Donnie, right?
13:07You're the champs until somebody actually beats you when it matters the most.
13:11So, something tells me it won't be the last time we're going to see Ohio State and Indiana anyway.
13:17But, yeah, I would, I say they're a deserved favorite at this point.
13:22Going to be fun.
13:23Like, there's a couple different ways this can play out.
13:24You take a look down the script.
13:25I know Texas Tech has taken on some money.
13:27They were 10-1 about a week ago here.
13:29Now the college football playoffs, they're a little bit lower.
13:31But also keep in mind, first-round games played on the campuses of the team with the higher seed.
13:36Second-round game, you go right to neutral site.
13:38So, there is no advantage, which I do think is a shame.
13:41And I hope it changes because balls, the, let's just say, the Rose Bowl versus a game played at Texas show.
13:48Exactly the same people watching on TV.
13:50Oh, I got to watch because the Rose Bowl.
13:52Nobody cares about that.
13:53We care about the teams on the field that play.
13:55And I do would like to incentivize teams that get the first four.
13:57But, Donnie, their incentive is they don't play.
13:59Well, also, look at the AEDs from the schools going like, hmm, you know what?
14:03We can have a game on campus at Texas A&M and sell 115,000 tickets.
14:08Or we can have half the allotment of the Rose Bowl and not make as much money.
14:12But that's our gift here.
14:13Stop it, man.
14:14Play that second-round game on campus.
14:16Let the teams one through four experience their own home playoff game as well.
14:19And take that gate in and also support your fan base.
14:22And give your team an extra boost.
14:24Because if you ask, Joe, hey, Texas A&M, do you want to be at home down in Texas?
14:27Or would you like to be at the Peach Bowl somewhere like in Atlanta?
14:30No, they'd want to be at home at this point.
14:32But let's take a look, Joe, at those games that will kick off Alabama and Oklahoma on a Friday night.
14:37Standalone game.
14:37We talked about it earlier in the show.
14:39Do we think the wind is going to be a factor when I look at this game?
14:42And I say, I do think the spread is correct here with Alabama as a favorite.
14:46The one thing we know about Alabama, yes, they are leaking oil.
14:48But if I look and say, I got the better quarterback, the better wide receivers, and the better overall offense,
14:53I lean towards Kalen DeBoer's team.
14:55But Oklahoma is home.
14:57It is windy.
14:57They have a great defense here.
14:58But I don't know if you can look at a college football playoff game and say, I just hope we win it with defense alone.
15:04Because it looks like that's what Oklahoma is going to have to do.
15:07Yeah, well, and good luck with that.
15:09At some point, you know, you've got to be able to score points, Donnie, in order to win, especially in the playoffs right now.
15:16And listen, maybe I think this break, maybe it didn't, couldn't have benefited anybody better than Alabama,
15:23who was dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball.
15:27So this is giving them an opportunity to catch their breath here, get healthy.
15:32I just don't know there's anything that Oklahoma is going to do that is going to significantly increase their chances of the offense being better for this game.
15:43I do think the latest version of Alabama that we saw, I think their ceiling is much higher.
15:50And I think a little time off, you're going to have a chance to see that against even this great Oklahoma defense.
15:56Isn't it great, Joe?
15:57You look at this game on a Friday night, it's a one and a half point spread.
15:59It's like, man, two good football teams playing.
16:01Then you get to Saturday at noon kickoff.
16:03It's Miami and Texas A&M.
16:04You're staring at three and a half to three.
16:06Oh, man, that's a great football game at a total of 15 and a half.
16:08Some windy weather expected at Kyle Field down in College Station as well.
16:12But also, Joe, the ticket count, 50-50 on both sides between Miami and Texas A&M.
16:17This is an even game right here.
16:18Miami got the boost of, we didn't know if we're going to be in.
16:21Now we're in.
16:21Let's make it count.
16:22Going up against Texas A&M, who last time we saw them, Texas beat them.
16:28Yeah, it's, again, you're dealing with a lot in this game here.
16:32I mean, I, for one, always thought Texas A&M was the benefactor of a very easy SEC schedule, Donnie,
16:40because they didn't have to play any of the top 10, 15 teams from the SEC that were in the national landscape.
16:47So, and when they finally did, they played Texas and that didn't work out all that well.
16:52So, I think Miami, from a talent perspective, may be the most talented team on the field here,
17:00most experienced team on the field.
17:02Now they got to go out and get it done.
17:04Again, Miami is a favorite is one thing.
17:05Miami is a dog, even on the road, is a whole different animal.
17:10And they showed you, it doesn't matter what the weather is, Donnie.
17:13They went to Pittsburgh and absolutely destroyed them.
17:16I think they're going to be absolutely fine in this game.
17:19Ooh, game number three we'll talk about here, Joe.
17:21This is going to be on Saturday at 3.30 afternoon.
17:23We just talked about a game, two coin flips there, two really good mega conference teams.
17:28Then we get Tulane and Ole Miss on a Saturday afternoon and a 17.5 point spread,
17:32the total of 56.5.
17:34The question is not Ole Miss going to win this football game, but how much can they win it by, Joe?
17:39Is there any thoughts on taking Tulane as an underdog of this game,
17:41or is it just Ole Miss with a new coach looking to make inroads and move forward in the college football playoff?
17:47So, listen, I think Oregon is going to roll, right?
17:51JMU.
17:52I don't think that's even going to be close.
17:53I think this is a very tricky spot.
17:56Not necessarily from the outright upset, but just from the idea of expecting Ole Miss with the drama that they've had to deal with,
18:04the fact that Kiffin is off to LSU, that they've had to deal with that,
18:09and the fact that they beat this Tulane team in September.
18:13And we all watched Tulane became a better team as the season went on.
18:18They've got an experienced quarterback there.
18:21This could be a very tricky spot because Ole Miss could feel like, all right, it's fine.
18:26We just got to go through the motions.
18:27We've already beat them once.
18:28We'll be – you know, I got to think that all the value in this game is on Tulane.
18:33If you look at this whole schedule, Joe, for the bowl season, and what I mean by bowl season,
18:38really the college football playoff, which game this weekend in college football are you most excited about
18:44in the college football playoff?
18:45Like, what's your must-see TV?
18:46And I don't mean like, hey, I got a good edge on, like Tulane's not going to cover.
18:49Is there one game that you have to sit down and say, I can't wait to see this one play out?
18:54Oh, yeah, it's Miami and Texas A&M, by far.
18:57Because if Miami doesn't win this game, wait till you see the reaction from Notre Dame fans.
19:05It is going to be – you know, part of me is like, you know, Miami, if you lose,
19:09it won't be the worst thing to happen because the drama we'll get from Notre Dame's side of things
19:14will be over the top.
19:15But I don't think it's going to happen.
19:16I think Miami wins the game, and they are going to open it up as an outright dog winner, I think.
19:23Yeah, here's the favorite part about it.
19:25We should be in there.
19:26Oh, who's playing?
19:26Miami?
19:27Yeah, Miami Beach.
19:28Oh, who's the other team?
19:28A&M?
19:29Yeah, A&M Beach, too.
19:30Enough, Notre Dame.
19:31Go home.
19:382-0 on Monday, 1-1 yesterday, still profitable.
19:42It's Wednesday.
19:43It's time to get that 2-0 night, Joe.
19:45Where are we going tonight?
19:47Well, we're going to go here to the Staff DNA Cure Bowl.
19:51Donny, featuring Old Dominion and South Florida here.
19:56And I had mentioned it's unfortunate that we're not getting both starting quarterbacks this year to play in this game.
20:04But there's a lot of changes, a lot more changes on the USF side there with no Byron Brown, no offensive coaching staff all left.
20:13The head coach, the head coach, gone.
20:15Four of the starters on the defensive side of the ball are gone.
20:19And meanwhile, ODU's coach, Ricky Rainey, he has been fantastic.
20:25And he has been in this spot before.
20:28I like the stability with Old Dominion.
20:31Their backup quarterback has a ton of experience and is very similar to what their starting quarterback, Colton Joseph, played like all year long.
20:40When it comes down to it, Old Dominion getting points.
20:44Take the points.
20:45Sprinkle a little something on the money line here because this is an outright upset waiting to happen.
20:50Take the points.
