00:00Who deals with this one here?
00:01Wake Forest and Oregon State.
00:03Opening line look ahead, about six and a half.
00:06That line has dropped, Joe, to two and a half across the board
00:08and a total of 51 and a half.
00:10I didn't even know Oregon State still had a football team,
00:13but apparently that spread is off here.
00:16What is the spread line in this game for the Demon Deeks?
00:19Well, we're going to do that,
00:20but I also got to know what the Philly stance is on Penn State,
00:24but that's a different conversation here.
00:27Let me just say this.
00:29This year, and, you know, this is one of those games
00:32where, Donnie, you go, Wake Forest, Oregon State, right?
00:35But you just mentioned it.
00:36The opening line compared to where we are
00:38and we're two days into the week
00:40should tell you everything you need to know
00:42about what's happening with these two programs.
00:45They are heading in opposite directions.
00:46Now, Oregon State is awful.
00:49They have not won a game yet this year.
00:51Wake Forest, however, new coach, new error,
00:55and, yes, they are a legit team in the ACC.
01:00Terrible spot for Oregon State.
01:02Why?
01:03Well, they just had to travel across the country
01:06to play in Boone to take on App State,
01:09in which they lost,
01:11only to hop on a plane and have to come back home,
01:13and now take on Wake Forest,
01:15whose new coach, by the way,
01:17Coach Dickert, very familiar with Oregon State.
01:20And why?
01:22Well, he was the wazoo coach over the last few seasons
01:26and had no problem beating Oregon State there.
01:29He'll have no problem beating Oregon State here either.
01:33Oregon State left that like that.
01:34And, like, nobody wanted us here.
01:36Everybody left the Pac-12 and left us with the bag,
01:38and you're seeing the fruits of their non-labor right now,
01:40getting hammered week in and week out.
01:42How about Kent State?
01:43Last week, Joe, we talked about a team total of three and a half,
01:46which didn't get home because why?
01:47Kent State didn't score a single point against Oklahoma.
01:50This week, UMass comes to town,
01:53and Kent State is a favorite between two and a half to three,
01:57depending on where you're shopping,
01:58and a total of 49 and a half.
02:00UMass, Kent State, what's the spread line here, Joe?
02:04I hope the guys in the back have the Cam Ward drop ready to go
02:09because I'm not yet.
02:11That's it.
02:12Yeah, because this game is about as that as possible.
02:15This game has got cheeks written all over it, Donnie,
02:19but it needs to be talked about because of what you just said, right?
02:23We were betting Kent State all day last week going,
02:27you got to score at least a field goal.
02:29No, they didn't.
02:30But you may be the only team worse in this country right now is UMass.
02:36So how bad is UMass?
02:38Well, they're an underdog to a Kent State team
02:41that hasn't beaten an FBS team since November of 2022.
02:47They have not even been favored over anybody since the 2022 season.
02:54Absolutely, unbelievably bad.
02:56If you want to set football back 100 years,
02:59watch this game, UMass at Kent State.
03:02This is how this total is 49 and a half is hilarious to me, Donnie,
03:07because the first one to score is going to win this game.
03:10That is how bad it is.
03:12But it absolutely is worth mentioning
03:15because Kent State is in rare territory here as a favorite over anybody.
03:20It's like a Super Bowl between these two teams coming up.
03:23I'm betting a lot of small-time college football over the years.
03:25UMass won a national championship in the 1990s in Division I AA.
03:29But since they've been in the Division I team, it's been a rough go, man.
03:32And they're usually a fun bet because they usually give up a ton of points
03:35or have the chance to score a lot of points back when Mark Whipple was coaching them.
03:38One to keep an eye on, no doubt about it.
03:40How about the Red River rivalry, which is Oklahoma and Texas?
03:43Always played at a neutral site at the Cotton Bowl.
03:46Texas, fresh off of a loss to Florida.
03:48They're a favorite in this game, though.
03:50Minus two and a half and another low total of 42 and a half.
03:54You would have told me Oklahoma-Texas is 42 and a half as a total entering in the season.
03:58I thought you would have been crazy.
03:59But we're not, Joe.
04:00What's the spread line here?
04:01Well, the spread line here is this is all about, and this line will move based upon
04:07the information we get on John Mateer's status and availability for OU.
04:12Brent Venable says that he doesn't think he'll have the quarterback ready to go,
04:18his Heisman hopeful QB.
04:20But, you know, in this rivalry and Venables, he might pull the rug out from under all of
04:26us, Donnie, and announce a couple hours before, hey, he is good to go.
04:31So make sure he had the thumb surgery, by the way, on the throwing hand.
04:36And so back-to-back buys, they should, I mean, well, they had a buy because they played Kent
04:41State.
04:41So that's what I mean by back-to-back buys.
04:44But make sure you know the status of John Mateer here.
04:48If you think he's going to play even a hint of him playing, and keep it here because as
04:54soon as we have the information, we'll pass it along.
04:56This line will move, Donnie.
04:58I can assure you of that.
04:59So be sure you know who's under center for OU before you bet this game.
05:04The Week 7 AP Top 25 poll is out.
05:07It's freshly minted here.
05:09And that number one team, it's no surprise, Joe Ranieri.
05:11It is the Ohio State Buckeyes.
05:13Number one, the Hurricanes retake.
05:16Number two, followed by Oregon, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.
05:20Some of the usual suspects up there, OSU, Oregon, Miami, trying to say, we're back here
05:25in college football.
05:27Ole Miss, a great story with Mr. Kiffin doing damage.
05:30And there's Texas A&M hovering around there with Mr. Rita Quarterback, who's absolutely
05:34fantastic.
05:35I love the look of the top five right now.
05:38How about that?
05:40I do.
05:40And listen, it's given the games that we're going to have coming up, this is going to,
05:46you know, they're going to be jockeying for position when it's all said and done.
05:49The great thing, and we talked about it last week about Miami, is I think that with that
05:54win, that was the third top 25 team that they have beaten when they played them here.
06:01I think that win, barring anything crazy, kind of already punched their ticket into a postseason
06:08situation this year.
06:10So kudos to Miami getting it done early and often.
06:14But I'm going to be real interested to see, will that top five still be the top five when
06:21we're doing this next week, Donnie?
06:23Because there are some monster games for these teams coming up.
06:27It's great.
06:27It's so much fun.
06:28Love college football.
06:29And you're going to see a lot of big time games this weekend again, which may be the
06:32biggest of all.
06:34Indiana and Oregon.
06:35Alton Stadium out there in Eugene.
06:38That's going to be center stage here.
06:39The look-ahead line, Joe, FanDuel at least, was minus 10.5 for Oregon.
06:43That's no longer the case.
06:45Minus 7.5, and some outlets even at minus 7 now as a favor towards Oregon.
06:49This line has jumped up.
06:50That look-ahead price point of 51.5 as a total.
06:53I'm now seeing 55.5 across the board.
06:56This is going to be entertaining, exciting, and one of the best home field advantages in
07:00football could come into play, Joe.
07:02Indiana heads out to the Pacific Northwest to take on Oregon.
07:06What's your early look in this one?
07:07Yeah, again, I think this is the game of the weekend because I think this means a lot to
07:15how this college football playoff landscape is going to shape up.
07:20Don't forget, it's not like Indiana wasn't there last year, right?
07:23Although that cupcake schedule, once they eventually played Ohio State at the end of the regular
07:29season, that wasn't great.
07:31And then, of course, Notre Dame kind of stuck, you know, stepped on them, and that was it.
07:36But what else can Signetti do?
07:39I mean, he's got his team ready to go.
07:42But again, at this point in the season, this is a different level that his team is about
07:48to face.
07:48Much like he didn't get to that level until he had to face Ohio State at the end of the
07:53year, Donnie, and then we saw what it was.
07:55He's going to see it now early in the season.
07:58We're going to have a really good idea of this Indiana team with their quarterback, Mendoza.
08:02Should we be taking them seriously here?
08:05Or is Oregon, a cut above, just going to expose them like Notre Dame and Ohio State did?
08:12I got to tell you, you got two head coaches aren't ashamed to stir it up in the media and
08:16tell you like it is.
08:17That's going to be a fun one.
08:18Because if one of these guys has a chance to rub it an extra touchdown, they will take
08:23advantage of it.
08:23And they will tell you all about it, of why they were slighted during that week as well.
08:27A fantastic game on the slate here.
08:29Let's keep it there with the Big Ten, Ohio State and Illinois.
08:32Ohio State, not at home in the shoe.
08:34They're going to head to Champaign.
08:3650 and a half is the total.
08:38A two touchdown plus favorite for Ohio State as they go on the road to take on the fighting
08:43of Lion-Eye.
08:44Yeah, this is going to be a fun one too here.
08:48I mean, Illinois at home.
08:50But again, I'm not a big believer in Illinois at all.
08:54I think Ohio State's defense is going to be the difference in this game.
09:00I do not believe that Illinois' defense is going to be able to limit what Ohio State and
09:05Julian Sane are going to want to do.
09:07I think defensively, though, and we've seen what happened.
09:10We saw what Indiana did to Illinois' offense, right, with pressure and a quality defense.
09:17Wait until Ohio State shows up there.
09:19I think we're going to get a kind of a repeat.
09:21Maybe not as big a blowout as Indiana was, but they are going to struggle to score the
09:26ball.
09:28As Julian Sane, I don't think he's going to struggle against that defense.
09:30We'll see how it plays out here.
09:31Alabama and Missouri SEC battle.
09:34Look ahead line.
09:35Alabama minus six and a half.
09:36Dropped to three at just about every outlet and a total between 52 and a half and 51 and
09:41a half.
09:42The Crimson Tide on the road to take on the Tigers.
09:46I want to see if this hits the key number three.
09:49I mean, it's been all Mizzou money out there somewhere early on here.
09:55All.
09:55So are we being head faked here, Donnie?
09:59Is all the Alabama money, which we all know Alabama money is coming in as this week gets
10:04a little bit closer.
10:05But will it get the three before that all starts come pouring in and we're back to five before
10:11we know it?
10:12The Sharps.
10:13Where's the scalping going to come in?
10:14Where's the buyback on Alabama at this point?
10:16We'll see how that cracks up.
10:17We're going to continue to talk more college football next SEC, Joe.
10:21It just means more.
10:23We're going to head to the plains of Auburn.
10:24That's the Auburn Tigers.
10:25They're going to take on the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend.
10:28That line opened up at three and a half.
10:29Do you know where it still sits here on a Tuesday morning?
10:31Three and a half and a low total of 45 and a half.
10:35A lot of respect here.
10:36Looks like for Auburn at home at Jordan hair.
10:40Can Georgia go in there with Kirby smart and play well?
10:42And also what's up with that low total?
10:44We're not used to these low totals.
10:45What's going with you?
10:46Is this the old SEC back in the early 2000s?
10:50Well, I mean, what does Cam Ward say?
10:53Jackson Arnold is, yes, that's exactly what he is.
10:58And so is this offense.
11:00And as many athletes as they may have on there, they are not.
11:04He can't throw the ball down the field.
11:06And that's the problem.
11:07So Georgia's defense, although not one of the better ones that Kirby smart has had over the last couple of seasons, they are still more than capable of limiting Jackson Arnold and this offense here.
11:21They run the ball well, but I don't know that you're going to run it all that well on this Georgia defense.
11:25It comes down to me as to which offense do you think, Donnie, can make enough big plays?
11:32Gunnar Stockton, to me, has shown that he can make some big plays here.
11:36I'm not a believer in Jackson Arnold.
11:38I think Georgia can get this game done.
11:40I would not be shocked if more Georgia money starts hitting the books here as we get closer to kickoff.
11:46I would rather have Jackson Arnold than Arch Manning at this point right now with all the disappointments for the Texas Longhorns.
11:52They're going to take on their rival Oklahoma in the Red River rivalry at the Cotton Bowl.
11:57And Texas, after losing to Florida last week, still a favorite in this game, the look-ahead number was three and a half.
12:02That's dropped to two and a half at just about every outlet and another really low total of 42 and a half.
12:08Is this the last stand for Arch Manning and being a starter with Texas?
12:12Goodness.
12:14I don't listen.
12:15I don't think so.
12:15I mean, we got to remember, the guy, the expectations that were put on a kid who had only had a couple of games, it's like, come on, settle down.
12:25I mean, the guy's still got three years of eligibility left here, all right?
12:29And by the way, it's not like, it's not all of this has been his fault here for this team.
12:35Having said that, this is one of the greatest rivalries in all of college sports right now.
12:41But I got to know, what is John Mateer's status?
12:44Is Oklahoma starting a backup quarterback or is Oklahoma going in with Mateer who's already had the surgery, right, on the thumb?
12:54Seems to be good to go here.
12:56Is he playing or is he not playing?
12:58I would wait to find that out before I did anything in this game because if he is playing, this line is changing.
13:05Oh, no, how unfair, Joe Ranieri.
13:08Michigan's going to have to get on a plane and travel to California.
13:10There's no way we can win.
13:12How do you expect Big Ten teams to travel hundreds, if not thousands of miles, and try to be able to win a football game on the road?
13:18Michigan takes on USC.
13:20And the favorite here are the USC Trojans at minus two and a half at just about every outlet.
13:24And the total, thank goodness, 57 and a half.
13:28You love to see that.
13:29Can the young, talented quarterback of the 15th-ranked Michigan Wolverines handle their business?
13:34Or is this SC as a favorite?
13:35And yes, they should be a favorite here.
13:39I'm not all that impressed with Michigan at this point here.
13:43But this is exactly the kind of game and situation that, listen, USC offensively is going to put up points.
13:51I mean a ton of points here.
13:53This offense is one of the best in the country.
13:55I still think, as talented as that young quarterback of Michigan is, it's still a work in progress.
14:01I don't know that Michigan is built on it to get into a shootout here with USC, with Lincoln Riley.
14:10I would be willing to bet they don't, and I'd be willing to bet that USC wins this game here.
