00:00Previously on Project Runway Junior.
00:03We're calling this challenge En Garde to Avant Garde.
00:08You will be working in teams of two to design one look.
00:12Bus go looks so cool.
00:14I love this color.
00:15You're going to have to explain that to the judges, not me.
00:17I honestly just wish I had a different partner.
00:19I really don't care at this point.
00:21If I have to throw her under the bus to stay in the competition, I will.
00:25You guys really knocked it out of the park.
00:26You guys are both safe.
00:28It wasn't Avant Garde.
00:30So proud of both of you.
00:31It has to be an all-inclusive look.
00:33Tyler, you are the winner of this challenge.
00:36Akai, I'm sorry you're out.
00:38That's fine.
00:39Well, I hope you're going to feel better.
00:43Because I'm using my Tim Gunn set.
00:45Oh my god, are you kidding?
00:46Thank you so much.
00:48Words can't even explain how happy I am.
00:50Trust me, this is not going to be a waste.
00:52Oh, yes.
01:05Hi, designers.
01:08Hi.
01:08Akai, honey.
01:09It is so great to see you.
01:12I am so grateful that Tim used his save on you.
01:15I'm going to prove everybody wrong that I was not supposed to go home, and I'm going to win this.
01:20Are you happy to be back?
01:21I am so happy to be back, yes.
01:23I don't really care that Akai is here.
01:25I'm worried about myself, and I really want to have the judges understand who I am as a designer.
01:29It's time for your next challenge.
01:31Do you want to know what it is?
01:32Yes.
01:33Well, you're going to have to wait a little bit longer, but what I can tell you is that for this one, you'll really need to step it up.
01:42Dance moves, step it up.
01:44Is it physical?
01:45Are we going to be, like, making, like, dance costumes?
01:47I mean, like, I'm down.
01:48I'm gung-ho for making dance costumes.
01:49If it's physical, I'm in.
01:51Tim and a special guest will meet you in the workroom to tell you all about the challenge.
01:56Good luck, guys.
01:57Bye.
01:57Bye.
01:58Oh, they're Fitbit.
02:08Oh, my gosh, step it up.
02:09Oh, I'm special.
02:10Step it up.
02:12Fitbit necklaces and bracelets are so cool.
02:15A Fitbit tracks how many steps you've taken so you can focus on your fitness.
02:20Tim.
02:21Hi, everyone.
02:23So there's a lot of excitement in here, yes?
02:25Yeah.
02:26I came ready, Tim.
02:27I'm ready.
02:28All right.
02:28Well, designers, please welcome the director of product marketing at Fitbit, Melanie Chase.
02:34Hi.
02:34Hi.
02:36Thank you so much for having me today.
02:38Well, designers, for this challenge, you will be creating a versatile look that is fit for
02:42a fashionista, taking her from her daytime activity to a night out.
02:48This whole challenge is really scary.
02:50I've never even been to a party.
02:52What do you do at night?
02:52I sleep.
02:53Is this supposed to be pajama workwear?
02:55The new Fitbit Flex 2 is the ultimate accessory to keep your woman fit and fashionable from
03:01day to night.
03:02It's a slim wristband designed with this little tiny tracker that fits inside bracelets and
03:08pendants.
03:08You may choose one bracelet or one pendant, and your model will wear that on the runway.
03:14In addition, we'll be giving you all Fitbit Flex 2 wristbands to wear, and you'll get to
03:18keep them.
03:19Your steps will be on this monitor.
03:25Oh, I'm beating y'all.
03:26But this is not part of the challenge, all right?
03:28This is just a fun enhancement.
03:30So now you can open your boxes and put on your wristband.
03:34Ooh.
03:34I love this.
03:37This is so cool.
03:38I can't wait to see the results, and I wish all of you designers the best of luck.
03:44I'm going to start now.
03:46All right.
03:47We're doing things a little differently today.
03:49We will not be going to Mood.
03:50Aww.
03:51Aww.
03:52We have the official grand opening of Mini Mood.
03:57And you have one day for this challenge.
04:01You will have 45 minutes for shopping and sketching.
04:05And enjoy the Brothers Sewing and Embroidery Studio for this challenge.
04:08All right, designers, your 45 minutes begins right now.
04:12Off they go.
04:13Is there, like, black neoprene, guys?
04:17I just need something stretchy.
04:19I'm sketching a skirt that is asymmetrical, and I want it to be able to flip over to another
04:24color.
04:25On the back of the shirt, it'll be black but have a triangle in that multicolored fabric
04:30that I found.
04:31I'm just afraid the judges are going to be like, looks like a carnival.
04:34Now that you said that, they might.
04:36Izzy, look.
04:37They have neoprene.
04:38They don't have white neoprene, though, which is what I like to work for.
04:41Even though, like, clearly I come off as a very colorful, bright pink person, I decide
04:45for, like, a darker color palette this time, because I want to show the judges that I can
04:49do it.
04:50I pick a black fabric, and then I pick this, like, red, like, argyle, and I decide that
04:56that's my print.
04:57Oosipers!
04:58Okay, does anybody have any other solid blacks?
05:01My trendsetting woman on the go is someone who just doesn't have time to go back to her
05:05apartment and find something to wear after she gets off work.
05:09So I'm going to make this jacket dress that on the outside is very work-appropriate,
05:14but the model's going to take it off and turn it the other way, and it's going to be,
05:18like, a fun vest that's gold and glittery.
05:20Chelsea?
05:21Yeah?
05:22Do you have some black at your table?
05:23Do you care if I use some of that?
05:24Yeah, no, I don't care.
05:25Okay.
05:26We're in sword fight.
05:28We have time.
05:31I find two different shades of metallic leather.
05:33I automatically start designing, like, a jacket and skirt kind of suit, and just, like,
05:38a really subtle top.
05:40It reflects my style of, like, deconstructed, but construction.
05:43Designers, you have five minutes remaining, and then Mini Mood is closing.
05:47This could actually be fun.
05:52Can someone open the door?
05:53I just grab as many things as I can that I like because I just kind of don't know what
05:58I'm going to be working with, so I hope I'm going to be able to figure this out.
06:03All right, designers, time is up.
06:09Mini Mood is closed.
06:11Bye, Mini Mood.
06:12Is everybody feeling good?
06:14Yes.
06:15All right.
06:16I will be back later today to check in with you.
06:18You will have a model fitting later today.
06:20All right?
06:21Have fun.
06:22Go, go, go.
06:27I want to do a fitted pant with the sky blue kind of neoprene, but I'm still kind of
06:33thinking of what I want for the top, so I'm just going to put that aside for right now
06:38and make the pants.
06:39Do you think this should go like this, up and down on a dress, or like this?
06:43You could do it like this if you're just doing above the knee if you're, like, this way better.
06:47So now I'm using my red argyle knit for, like, the main dress, and then the black for, like,
06:54pieces on the sides, like, right here.
06:55This is the intended way for the print to be used.
06:57I picked, like, a color palette that I haven't really worked with before, and it's kind of
07:03freaking me out.
07:04My theory is, like, a handbag designer goes to brunch.
07:11My trendsetting woman on a go is probably, like, 65 years old, has a facelift, has, like,
07:15a boob job, has, like, nipped and tucked, and just, like, doesn't care what anybody thinks.
07:19And if you're in a critiquer, she's just going to let you know she's better than you.
07:23What are you making?
07:24Um, you'll see.
07:27My ultimate vision is this wide leg kind of jumpsuit Palazzo pant thing.
07:32So I'm going to use the yellow and gray neoprene as the bandeau and the white yellow fabric
07:37as the base of the look and this black fabric as the, um, straps.
07:42I'm just nervous it won't look as good as I wanted it to be because I think the design's so good that
07:47I don't want the fabric to be the downfall of it.
07:50Okay, Halwa.
07:51How do you feel?
07:52I feel good.
07:53Should you?
07:54This looks like something you would send out after last week's garment.
07:58What do you mean?
07:58Half finished.
08:02I want to be as ambitious as I can for this challenge because I want to be on top
08:06and not at the bottom anymore.
08:08I hate this.
08:09What am I doing?
08:10Why did I paint this ugly fabric?
08:12I'm upset.
08:13I don't know what I'm doing.
08:14I guess it's the stress of the competition that makes her question herself so much.
08:18This is so different from what you usually do.
08:19Like, you're aesthetic.
08:20I see Izzy's look and I'm just, like, really confused.
08:23It's like giving me this, like, vampire Scottish girl vibe.
08:26I don't know what I'm doing.
08:27Right now it's a weird creepy sundress.
08:29I have to completely restart.
08:31I think it's my only option.
08:33I don't want to go home.
08:37Coming up.
08:38It looks like she's ill.
08:40Oh.
08:40Panic, panic.
08:42What do you think?
08:43Well, it's a point of view.
08:44It's not enough.
08:45I feel awful.
08:46I really love this.
08:48Feels a little done, a little dated.
08:50This isn't special.
08:53This is going to be the day that I die.
08:59I hate my dress and it's already, like, four hours into the day.
09:02Well, do you like your fabric choices or no?
09:04No.
09:05I see Izzy's look and I'm just, like,
09:08smirk?
09:10Don't tell her that.
09:10Do you want to, like, come look through my fabric pile?
09:13Yeah, actually.
09:14Anything on the floor I'm not using, I have that gray jersey.
09:18I just want this.
09:18Can I take this?
09:19Yeah, of course.
09:19I'm going to freaking do this.
09:21I can't believe I'm doing this.
09:23You know, if you did this while you had immunity, I wouldn't be worried for you.
09:26I know, but I don't.
09:28Just do what you want, girl.
09:29I'm scared.
09:31I like Izzy's first dress.
09:32I don't know what she's doing.
09:38Tyler, what's your concept this week?
09:39I'm going to make a giant balloon to show, like, the versatility.
09:43Is it on guard to avant-garde?
09:45Yeah, a little bit.
09:46A little bit.
09:48Oh, my God.
09:48Okay, I'm not restarting.
09:50I decided I'm not going to be a crazy person.
09:51I've watched, like, a million seasons of Project Runway.
09:53The person that freaks out and loses all their crap in the middle of the challenge
09:57when you're four hours in always goes home.
09:59Want to know why?
10:00It's because they don't have enough time and I was not going to be that person.
10:03I'm using my same dress and I lost an hour of time, but I think I'm going to
10:07add something to give it more drama. I hope I'm safe.
10:12I miss the town.
10:14How is everyone?
10:15Good.
10:17So I'm here to check in with you, okay?
10:19Hi, Chelsea. What are you up to?
10:21I originally had this jumpsuit idea and I was thinking about having it low and then having,
10:27like, a shown bandeau.
10:28What are you making it out of?
10:29This neon thing.
10:31Look at this neon next to this cream.
10:34Yeah, next to the cream.
10:36It looks like she's ill.
10:38Oh.
10:39Panic, panic, panic.
10:42I love the gray and the neon together, though.
10:44Make an entire garment out of the gray and the neon.
10:47Wait, that's actually a really good idea.
10:52Light bulb.
10:53Hi, Allie.
10:54Hello.
10:55Eager to hear what you're doing.
10:57For my day to night look, I have these pants started and this is a backwards wrap around,
11:02but since the opening's in the back, it's gonna be like a faux wrap.
11:05The top and the skirt piece are the same.
11:08Yeah, all in this.
11:09Okay.
11:10If the design is executed the way you've drawn it, we're not going to see this area,
11:16which means you don't need a pocket.
11:18What if I lined the inside of this skirt with this or lining it with the white?
11:23I mean, I'd go with the white before I would go with the magenta.
11:26Okay.
11:27Because at least it's part of the color story that's already in the textile.
11:31Yeah.
11:32You still have a lot of work to do.
11:34Only do what you actually have to do.
11:36Yeah.
11:36Izzy, it looks like you're ready for the show.
11:40I was feeling really, really unconfident working with this fabric because I sort of have this
11:48really like girly vibe to me, I think, so I wanted to show them that I can be cool too.
11:53What's happening here?
11:54I thought it needed to show more skin, so I put slits in it.
11:57This isn't where you want to show more skin.
11:59It's not?
11:59No.
12:00Okay.
12:00Should I just completely sew these back up?
12:01Yes.
12:02Okay, cool.
12:03How's Akai?
12:04Akai is feeling much better.
12:07Good.
12:08So tell me what you're doing.
12:09Okay.
12:10My girl, she lives in Brooklyn.
12:12During the day, she's running her errands.
12:13Does she have a job?
12:14Uh, no.
12:15Oh, lucky her.
12:16Her source of income is from her husband.
12:19And then later on, she is going to a nice dinner with her friends.
12:24Not with her husband?
12:25No, he's working.
12:27All I'm thinking of is just making sure it's just finished perfectly.
12:31Because I just don't want to let Tim down and he's saved to be a waste.
12:36All right, it's all in the details at this point.
12:38Mm-hmm.
12:38Thank you, Tim.
12:40Talk to me.
12:41I don't want to show as much skin, but I want to keep it true to myself.
12:46So I was wanting to do like a tank slip so that like all across like it's completely covered.
12:52But you know, if you think about a more mature woman, this is where she would be more than willing
12:57to show skin.
12:58This gets dicier, so covering her up is a good idea.
13:01I don't know why Renee chose to design for an old woman this week.
13:04What would compel him to make a slutty old lady outfit, but it's cute.
13:08Okay, Renee.
13:09Yay!
13:09Carry on.
13:11Hawa, you've done a lot.
13:12Yes, I have.
13:14What do you think?
13:15Well, it's a point of view.
13:18Do you like the pattern?
13:18Yeah.
13:19Okay.
13:20I mean, isn't this very you?
13:22Yeah.
13:22Yeah.
13:23I would totally wear this.
13:24In seventh grade, I realized a lot of people around me wear the exact same clothes.
13:28And I was like, I don't want to wear any of those clothes.
13:31So I decided to, you know, switch up my style.
13:34I'm unique, hardcore.
13:36I mean, it's so important for all of you with every one of these challenges to be who you are.
13:42Is it too much?
13:44Isn't it about being a lot?
13:46Yes.
13:46Yeah.
13:47You're using the Fitbit bracelet.
13:49There's a few of you.
13:50Yes.
13:50I can't wait to see it.
13:51Okay.
13:51Yay.
13:54Cartier, talk to me.
13:56Okay.
13:56So I've made this menswear-inspired vest that's actually reversible.
14:01Oh.
14:03It just kind of goes to this nice vest that hangs over a slip dress.
14:08Can you take the vest off for a moment?
14:09Yes.
14:13What disappoints me is this.
14:14Can't she already go out and buy this?
14:16This is a lost opportunity.
14:22You're not being ambitious enough for the challenge.
14:25I feel awful.
14:27I'm panicking on the inside.
14:28I don't want a really basic dress to walk down the runway.
14:30That's not why I'm here.
14:32It's the least ambitious item in this room.
14:34It's not enough.
14:40Coming up.
14:41This is the future power look.
14:43That was his look as in day to night because you'd wear it swimming.
14:45Tacky.
14:46No.
14:46I think her vest is like a hit, but I feel like the dress is kind of like a miss.
14:52Well, I don't know how anyone could beat that look.
14:54Oh, I didn't know you were doing a reveal.
15:00It's the least ambitious item in this room.
15:03I don't know.
15:04But you're stronger than this.
15:06Um.
15:07You just are.
15:09But I just don't know what I'd do.
15:16What do you think about maybe, I don't know, I have this fringe,
15:20but I'm worried about using it in a way that could go really tacky?
15:23It could go tacky, but it could also be incredibly impactful.
15:27And I'm not saying it has to be the fringe, but it certainly could be.
15:32I don't know that it wants to be the lace.
15:34It definitely does not want to be this.
15:39Ah!
15:40No.
15:42Don't do it.
15:42Okay.
15:43Think, think, think.
15:44Okay.
15:45But don't touch that.
15:46Okay.
15:47All right, designers.
15:48Your models will be in in 30 minutes.
15:51All right, keep your eye on everything during the fittings.
15:54Bye, Tim.
15:55Bye, Tim.
15:55I will see you in the morning.
15:56Bye-bye.
15:56Bye, Tim.
15:58I'm really worried about what I can do on this little slip dress.
16:02I've put all my energy into creating this really good vest,
16:06but really not into doing the slip dress.
16:08And I'm just, I'm not feeling great about it.
16:17This is interesting.
16:18What is it?
16:19It's a wetsuit.
16:20Yep.
16:21I would not use that word.
16:23Tim's critique actually just changed the entire look and the like vibe of my entire thing.
16:29I definitely think I'm going to be able to finish it.
16:31I just don't know how good it's going to look.
16:33I'm like really glad this is a steps competition because that's all I'm going to be doing for like
16:38the next four hours.
16:40Back and forth, back and forth.
16:42Wait, am I still on top for the Fitbit thing?
16:44Yeah, someone needs to make you stand still.
16:47And I'm still in second place.
16:48I'm feeling a lot better about my dress and I hope that the judges like it.
17:03Yeah, these are huge.
17:04Just put your arms down so I can like see how things are going to go.
17:07Honestly, I don't know like what the impression I'm going to make on the judges.
17:10Like I love it, but like they might not love it.
17:13They might ask like to take it off.
17:15Renee hit the challenge, but not completely.
17:17I don't see someone wearing this during the day running around in it.
17:21He got the night.
17:21I'll just get the darts.
17:24High like messy bun.
17:25Snaps here, but they'll be really easy to just pop open.
17:27For the slip dress, I just took pieces of fringe and sewed them into the top of the dress.
17:34I think that this is going to add a little bit of life to the dress.
17:40Um, I haven't chosen specific shoes yet.
17:42Renee, do you like it?
17:43Honest opinion.
17:44I think I just need darts on the boobs.
17:46You think it needs darts on the boobs?
17:48Good luck.
17:50Bye guys.
17:51I love you.
17:53I just have to do like 600 more steps and I can beat a kite.
18:01Oh my god, it's been like two minutes of running and I want to die.
18:04Okay, we have to leave now.
18:06It's the end of the day and I'm getting a little bit worried about time.
18:10There's a few things I need to finish and I just have to push it and stay focused and get as much of it done as I can.
18:18It's my favorite lip on you.
18:29It's called Late Night.
18:31The eye shadow we're going to use is called Tiger Lily.
18:33A little bit of glazing to finish it.
18:35Some double-decker mascara.
18:38The makeup's light and airy, just gorgeous.
18:41Whee!
18:42Yo, yo, yo.
18:43What a do.
18:44Get me in.
18:44Let's go guys.
18:47Renee, how's your 65-year-old woman going?
18:4965-year-old woman's going hard.
18:51Mildred.
18:52That's a great name.
18:53That was my great-grandma's name.
18:54Was it really?
18:55Yeah.
18:55That explains a lot.
18:56I'm in a great place like day of the runway because I don't have any major things to do.
19:00Like everything's like set in stone and it's looking great.
19:04Good morning, everyone.
19:06Good morning.
19:07Good morning.
19:08How are you?
19:09Good.
19:10Good.
19:10You're all working away.
19:12All right.
19:13Using your direction, your models have been to the Butter London Beauty Studio for their makeup
19:18and to our hair studio for final touches.
19:21They will be in relatively soon and then you will have 30 minutes to prep them for the runway.
19:26All right?
19:26Yes, sir.
19:27Yes, sir.
19:27We have a fabulous show.
19:28Yes.
19:29Yes.
19:29Yes.
19:30All right.
19:31I will be back later.
19:32Thank you, everyone.
19:33Thank you, Tim.
19:40Are you done?
19:41Yeah, I'm done.
19:42Okay.
19:42I'm done now, too.
19:45Wait, this doesn't look half bad, guys.
19:47What do you mean?
19:48You look like a rag doll.
19:49So Lana Del Rey.
19:51Oh, God.
19:51This just became so much more real.
19:53Oh, hi.
19:54How are you doing?
19:55Please have hair and makeup like I wanted.
19:57Yes, we have hair and makeup like I wanted.
19:59Hello.
20:02Hello.
20:02How are you?
20:03It's almost done.
20:04I just have to figure out what length this is so I can sew the other end of that and it can hook on.
20:09I love Tyler's look.
20:11I don't know if anyone has ever won three times in a row, but I think if someone were to do it,
20:16it'd be Tyler.
20:16You look great.
20:17Wait, look at me.
20:18Chelsea's look isn't day to night because you'd wear it swimming.
20:21I'm just gonna like sell it.
20:22Be like, this is the future power look.
20:24This week, she's a ninja who's swimming in Central Park.
20:27Like, that's what she's gonna say, probably.
20:30Everybody else is kind of fitting their model right now, but I'm still sewing.
20:35So time-wise, I am getting worried, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to finish it in time.
20:41Designers, you have five minutes remaining.
20:43Oh, I didn't know you were doing a reveal.
20:50Hawa's, I think, is very, very cute.
20:52It's very Afro-punk.
20:53I think it definitely says Hawa.
20:55Can you walk through and see how the back moves?
20:58Cartier.
20:59I think her vest is like a hit, but I feel like the dress is kind of like a miss.
21:03Okay, and then the Fitbit.
21:09Yeah, I like the yellow shoes.
21:10I see Hawa's look, and I just think it looks so incredibly beautiful.
21:13I don't know how anyone could beat that look.
21:15Looking good.
21:23All right, designers and models.
21:25Whoo, we can get going.
21:27Let's go, Winita.
21:28Five.
21:29First.
21:30Ladies first.
21:31Could you hold on to that?
21:32You all right?
21:32I just need to finish this.
21:33I'm just like rushing to get my stuff together, and I'm just kind of freaking out.
21:38Like, I might be in trouble.
21:49Hello, everyone.
21:50Hi.
21:50Hi.
21:51Hi.
21:52Okay, you guys know how it works.
21:53In fashion, one day you're in, and the next day you're out.
21:57For this challenge, you are to create a versatile look for a trendsetter on the go,
22:02and that could take her from a day activity to a night out.
22:05There was also a fun add-on.
22:07You wore a Fitbit wristband, which tracked your steps while you worked on your looks.
22:11Do you guys want to know how many steps you all together completed?
22:14Yes.
22:14Yes.
22:15Almost 74,000 steps.
22:18Wow.
22:18Yeah.
22:19Thanks.
22:20Tyler, you won the last challenge, so you have immunity.
22:24Let's say hello to our wonderful judges.
22:26First, we have CFDA designer, Christian Siriano.
22:30Hello.
22:30Hi.
22:31Fashion critic, author, and designer herself, Kelly Osborne.
22:35Hello, designers.
22:37And fashion director for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen Magazines, Aya Kanai.
22:43Hi, guys.
22:43Also, we have Tim Gunn here for The Runway Show.
22:47Hi, Tim.
22:49Now, as you all know, Tim used his save.
22:51So from here on out, anyone could be going home.
22:54Okay.
22:55You guys ready?
22:56It's time for the show.
23:02Who is she?
23:07Wow.
23:07I was so worried I didn't get everything done, but watching my look come down the runway,
23:15and I feel like it really is a transitional look.
23:18The top looks really good.
23:20It's really different and new, and I really love it.
23:24I feel glad seeing my look come down the runway.
23:31I don't really get the response of mine as my unconventional look or my avant-garde look.
23:36So I like the look.
23:38I guess it could have been like more.
23:42I feel very happy.
23:44I think this is the best look I sit down the runway.
23:47My look can definitely go from day to night.
23:49It says who I am as a designer, and it looks really good.
24:03I'm so thrilled.
24:04I love the top of the Fitbit necklace.
24:06Looks great with it.
24:08I know I'm not leaving because this is cute, so I'm not going home.
24:19I am feeling 100% confident in my look.
24:24My original vision totally comes through.
24:26I wanted something that was really fun, but also had a kind of business side to it.
24:31I think I'm really leaving a good impression on the judges.
24:45I'm feeling so excited right now.
24:47I think this look represents me as a designer because I like to design
24:50ready-to-wear fashion that has a mix between bohemian and edgy vibe.
25:00I don't love my look.
25:02Like, I think it's good and I think it's well done, but I don't love it,
25:05and I don't think that the judges will like it either.
25:10Obviously, the judges are expecting so much from me,
25:12and I didn't really go up to that level this week.
25:15I'm proud of this piece.
25:23It's very much me.
25:24It's gorgeous, and my model looks great,
25:26and it's a great representation of my style.
25:28It looks so cool.
25:39The colors are amazing.
25:41They're working together.
25:42My model looks so, so good in it.
25:45She is working that blue lipstick.
25:48This is wow.
25:49You can see the colors, and you can see the look on the judge's face,
25:52that they actually like it, finally.
25:54So I'm so happy about it.
26:02This is good.
26:03I'm feeling, like, really hyped.
26:05During the daytime, this is her, like, power suit.
26:07She's, like, signing contracts.
26:08And then at night, she has to go to this, like, secret art gallery party
26:13where all the government officials from the world will gather.
26:15I think it tells people I like pushing it,
26:18and I really think that's what fashion's all about.
26:28Designers, overall, this was a great runway.
26:30If I call your name, please step forward.
26:38Akai.
26:41Molly.
26:41Chris.
26:46Tyler.
26:50If I have called your name, congratulations.
26:54You are safe.
26:55Ali.
26:57Finally.
27:01Can we leave or no?
27:02You guys can leave the runway.
27:04Bye.
27:04Good luck, girl.
27:09Thank God.
27:09Woo!
27:11I redeemed myself.
27:13No.
27:14The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
27:19One of you will be the winner of this challenge.
27:22And one of you will be out.
27:26Coming up, it is so chic and so sporty.
27:30It's just a bit too simple.
27:32I was a little underwhelmed.
27:33Your girl on the go needs to be more than this.
27:36The winner of Project Runway Junior will receive a full scholarship to the prestigious FIDM in
27:44California, a complete home sewing and crafting studio, plus the dream machine, all courtesy of
27:50The Brother, a feature in Seventeen Magazine, and a $25,000 cash prize to help launch their line.
27:57Also, Butter London will supply a year's worth of products and the opportunity to consult with
28:03Butter London to create a limited edition nail color collection.
28:06And styles from their finale collection will be manufactured by Los Angeles Development House,
28:12Lefty Production Company.
28:15The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
28:18One of you will be the winner of this challenge.
28:20And one of you will be out.
28:25Let's bring out your models.
28:32Allie, tell us about your inspiration, your look.
28:36I was inspired by a modern girl on the run.
28:40When she goes to work, she wants to look nice.
28:42Since she has social events in the evening, she wants to have something that can transition from day to night.
28:47I took a different twist on a wrap dress.
28:49I turned it backwards, but I still wanted an opening in the front.
28:53And then I paired it with a fitted cigarette pant with a pedal hem.
28:58I love your girl so much.
29:00I love the sophistication in the front and the femininity of the back.
29:05Allowed it to show just the right amount of back and then feminized it with the bow.
29:09It's just beautiful.
29:12I like the little bit of evening that is in here because I think not everyone
29:17got the full day to evening feel.
29:19I do wish it was lined in the same print, but I think you did a good job.
29:22It's a great look.
29:24It has total 360 appeal.
29:26Yeah.
29:26It's young.
29:27There's something kind of sexy to it, yet it's very sophisticated and ladylike.
29:32Allie, I really love this look.
29:35Cartier, tell us about your girl and your look.
29:38My inspiration for this challenge was to create a look for a girl who has to work during the day,
29:43but wants to go out at night, but doesn't necessarily want to go all the way back home
29:48to get something to wear.
29:49So it's just this little menswear-inspired shift dress.
29:51So she can wear this during the day, and at night she can pull it off, turn it around,
29:56and it's a little sparkly vest that goes over a little slip dress.
30:00Can I see the slip dress without?
30:02Yeah.
30:04I mean, it's very short.
30:06Yeah.
30:07Are you happy with that length?
30:09Um, I do like the length.
30:10I wanted something that would be kind of short and flirty and would sit well underneath the vest.
30:15Do you want to put the vest on with the gold out, maybe?
30:18It'd be like a little shimmer.
30:21I kind of like the functionality of this.
30:23The only problem with that is that it kind of exists already.
30:26Slip dresses and fringe, those are things that are on trend right now.
30:31I definitely don't want to see what's in the stores.
30:34It's just a bit too simple for what I know you have inside of you.
30:43Cartier, are you okay?
30:46Yeah, I'm fine.
30:47Are you sure?
30:48Yeah.
30:50Don't be too hard on yourself and don't beat yourself up.
30:52I was so confident in what I was doing.
30:56So it just, I don't know.
31:01And that's the thing.
31:02You need to be confident in what you're doing.
31:04You never know what people are going to think and what people are going to say.
31:07But if you love what you put down on this runway today,
31:10then you've achieved 100% goal.
31:17Chelsea, tell us about your girl and your look.
31:19She's the CEO of this company.
31:21It's like a spy company.
31:22And so she works, she works during the whole day in her office.
31:26And then at night, she has this like art gallery meetup with all these government officials.
31:33And she just talks with all of them.
31:34And she wears the same thing because she looks fabulous all the time.
31:36Chelsea, I love this look.
31:38Thank God.
31:39I love your girl on the go.
31:41I really definitely feel her active lifestyle from your fabric choice,
31:47from your racing stripes.
31:49So great job.
31:51I love your look.
31:53It is so chic and so sporty.
31:55I think you did a great, great job.
31:58You have a very strong point of view.
32:01You know, I love the side view.
32:02I think the side is really cool.
32:03I love that the stripe kind of continues onto the back.
32:06And then the back fits her really beautifully.
32:08And kind of feels like a totally, yeah, sportier, different girl.
32:14Renee, tell us about your girl and your look.
32:16This person's not actually young.
32:18She's probably like 60 years old.
32:19Like has a facelift, is nip tucked and sucked.
32:22And she doesn't care what anybody thinks about what she looks.
32:24So she'll wear like anything throughout the day.
32:25When I started making my leather bands,
32:27I wanted to have a construction of like kind of like a handbag.
32:30Because I thought the leather work of a handbag is very beautiful.
32:32I think the technique is really, really cool.
32:35You could do so much.
32:36But it feels a little done, a little dated.
32:39And I was a little underwhelmed, I think.
32:41We know that you love a cage effect.
32:44We've seen you do it a couple times.
32:47And we just want to always be seeing something new and different.
32:52I do really like the matchy-matchy sets.
32:55I think that all of these lines and these cutouts,
32:59I don't feel like it adds any value to the outfit.
33:02I think that's what we're going to do today.
33:04Hawa, tell us about your girl and your look.
33:06Okay, so my girl owns her own boutique and she makes her own clothes for it.
33:09So at nighttime, she goes to events and parties so she can promote her business.
33:14I just try to color block the top of it because I thought it looked really cool with this pattern
33:18that I found in Mini Mood.
33:19And then I also put this pattern underneath.
33:22So this is the daytime and then she'll turn it to the back for nighttime.
33:27And I have the rose gold Fitbit so it can match with the outfit.
33:32Great job, Hawa.
33:34I love this look.
33:35It has that fun, playful attitude that I now really associate with you.
33:41Excellent job.
33:43You have done and created something so new and different.
33:48And every placement of the fabric, the triangle in the back,
33:52is so thought out and so well done. I am so proud of you and I really love this.
33:58Thank you so much.
33:59It just feels a bit more fashion, a bit more forward thinking.
34:03And I think the print mixing is amazing.
34:04Yeah.
34:05Izzy, tell us about your girl and your look.
34:08She's really artistic. Like in the morning, she might go to the park, take pictures.
34:13She might go shopping with her friends. And then at night, she might go to like an art show opening
34:17in Soho. So she wants to be like really cool with this cool neckline, but also still be really comfortable.
34:22I think it's a cute dress. A lot of girls wear this. So that's okay. But okay isn't very exciting.
34:30It's beautifully made. It's just not an Izzy dress.
34:35I'm sorry. This isn't special.
34:39Your girl on the go needs to be more than this.
34:43Okay.
34:45It's an adorable dress and it's well made, but we know you have more.
34:50Okay, designers. We have enjoyed talking to you. We're going to take a closer look at your designs
34:55and then we'll bring you back to the runway. You can leave the runway. Thank you guys.
35:02Chris, you better not be talking about me, son.
35:04I'm not. I'm not. I'm not talking about you. Are you safe? Are you high? What's up?
35:07Who's top and bottom?
35:08Me, Renee, and Cartier are on the bottom.
35:10Mine was too repetitive and dated.
35:13The problem that I have like with this is that I was so confident about it that I was either
35:17going to be in the top or safe. I thought you were in the top.
35:19Me too.
35:20To end up in the bottom, I just kind of like feel stupid.
35:24Hi, judges.
35:26How is everyone?
35:27Should we start with Ala wearing Ali?
35:29I think this is so cute.
35:31It actually did a lot of favors to do a dart down the front.
35:34It's so elegant. I think this is some of her best work yet.
35:37I love the little cutout, the ankle. Ali is very technically capable, so it's great to see her
35:43break away from the pack.
35:47Chelsea.
35:47It is weird and where is she going, but it's good.
35:50And it fits her like a glove.
35:52You could get this fit wrong just as easily as you could get it right.
35:56Oh, very well.
35:56I just think it feels more fashion. You know, I would want I to pull this for 17 Magazine.
36:01I think that's super important.
36:03And Hawa.
36:04I didn't know she had this in her.
36:06We've been waiting to see something like this from Hawa since day one.
36:09There's so many great elements.
36:11You're mixing the right way.
36:12It really is, yeah.
36:12And her story matched exactly what she delivered today.
36:16I love this look.
36:20Priscilla wearing Renee.
36:21All right, what are we doing here?
36:23He really is holding on to his cutouts, to all these things that are kind of in some ways
36:29demonstrating themselves to be a crutch for him. But on the flip side, there is something really fun
36:35about this look.
36:38We have Cartier.
36:40Okay, the vest is very chic.
36:42It's very well made.
36:43I mean, it's a little more glam up close.
36:45Because you actually get to see the reflective fabric.
36:48I just don't feel like you're going anywhere in the day in this.
36:50I don't think it got that whole day to night thing.
36:52It's just too short.
36:57And Yaw is wearing Izzy.
36:59I feel like she tried to be edgier this week, and it just didn't work for her.
37:03You have only so many chances to have a look walk down the runway.
37:06And it's just too boring for a girl who has a sprig coming out of the top of her head.
37:14It's clearly between Hawa and Chelsea, right?
37:16The thing about Allie that I want to fight for is the fact that her outfit was fashion forward,
37:21and it's something every single woman could wear.
37:25In terms of who's going home today, it's between Renee and Izzy.
37:29Same cutout thing that he did in the first challenge, just not as successful.
37:33It's like a fembot.
37:34Izzy, though, how annoying that she made this stupid little dress.
37:37I know, but this is a hiccup.
37:38But is that all she can do?
37:40Has she already shown us the best of her abilities?
37:47Have we made our decision?
37:57Designers, overall, this was a great runway.
38:00It's difficult because you're all so talented, and there was nothing truly terrible.
38:06The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
38:10One of you will be the winner, and unfortunately, one of you will be out.
38:21Designers, the six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
38:26One of you will be the winner, and unfortunately, one of you will be out.
38:31Chelsea, you are the winner of this challenge.
38:35Congratulations.
38:42And since you won this challenge, you will have immunity next time.
38:46Oh my gosh.
38:48I just want to thank you. Thank you all.
38:49It's really good knowing that people like my work.
38:54You did great work, and you took 12,000 steps.
38:58Yeah.
38:59So you had a busy week.
39:00Your jumpsuit was amazing.
39:03It was chic, sporty, and so cool.
39:06I won!
39:08Third time's a charm, guys. Third time's a charm.
39:12Chelsea, Allie, Hawa, Cartier, you're all in. You can lead the runway.
39:22Thank you so much.
39:27Are you the winner?
39:28No.
39:28Who won?
39:29Chelsea.
39:29You won?
39:30Oh, congratulations.
39:32I told you whoever walked the most was going to win.
39:34Just kidding.
39:35It's red.
39:39Izzy, Renee, unfortunately, one of you will be out.
39:45Izzy, we didn't feel like you were proud of your look.
39:47It was safe and just okay.
39:51Renee, this time the caged effect didn't work and it lacked freshness.
39:57Izzy, Renee, one of you will be out.
40:05I'm sorry, you're out.
40:15Izzy, that means you're in. You can leave the runway.
40:23Renee, you definitely have a point of view as a designer.
40:26We just want you to keep expanding that point of view.
40:28Thank you so much.
40:29Okay, let me give you a hug.
40:31There's more to come for me, and so I don't know if they'll regret eliminating me, but you know,
40:37I'm going to leave my mark.
40:38Okay, honey, you can leave the runway.
40:40Can I go out with the bang?
40:41Yes, please.
40:42I'm so jealous.
41:00Don't let anybody telling you no ever ruin you, because you're always going to be told no,
41:05and you just have to wait to be told yes.
41:07I ended with the cartwheel and a drop split.
41:09You did?
41:10Do I hear laughter?
41:14Well, I'm glad your spirits are up, and you are an incredibly talented designer,
41:19and we are going to hear much more from you.
41:21Thank you so much, Tim.
41:22I have to send you the workroom to clean up your space.
