00:00That's the double-dealing Chris Jacobs.
00:09With double the initials, that's our dedicated AJ.
00:12And with double the talent, that's diligent Chip Boose.
00:16On today's overhauling, we're redoing two rides.
00:19We're tricking Darlene and the company she works for.
00:22All going down at Original Parts Group.
00:24It's a double dose of overhauling we call double-hauling.
00:27Our mark doesn't know we're reinventing her 67 El Camino.
00:31And we're also redoing the 03 S10 truck from Darlene's employers at Napa.
00:36With NASCAR's Michael Waltrip.
00:38George, George, George of the Jungle.
00:40So get ready for double the pranks, double the building.
00:43And double the trouble.
00:45On this special two-timing episode of the one and only overhauling.
00:49Oh my God.
00:50Darlene's a Napa worker and an El Camino owner.
01:18In for one unbelievable week.
01:20It's a week where we need her shop manager, George, working hard as our crafty insider.
01:25And speaking of crafty insiders, there's also her husband, Willie, helping us fool his wife.
01:30Darlene loves her 67 El Camino.
01:32In fact, her whole family feels the same way.
01:35The ride is just half of this week's double-hauling adventure.
01:38For more on that, let's join Chris.
01:39Now we're always trying to up the ante here on overhauling.
01:44So what are we going to do on this episode?
01:46We're going to steal two cars on overhauling.
01:48First, we're going to take our Mark Darlene's 67 El Camino, her prized possession.
01:53And a little later, Chris will snatch the Napa company truck her boss is going to lend her.
01:58But first, her El Camino.
02:00I brought a steering wheel.
02:01Darlene parks without one to stop thieves.
02:03Unless they bring a wheel.
02:04And hey, she left her purse in here.
02:06Oh, but he's a sweet thief.
02:08Dropping her purse so it's one less thing for Darlene to worry about this week.
02:11We get her out there immediately.
02:13My car!
02:14You got my car!
02:15Darlene arrives to find her fully intact purse, but alas, no 67 El Camino.
02:20She's more than beside herself.
02:22Not only has she had the ride for so long, but she's also had that no steering wheel system
02:27to prevent this very predicament.
02:29Luckily, she still has her cell phone.
02:31And with that, she calls her husband and the police as we all get ready to welcome Chris
02:35and the El Camino back at the shop.
02:39Chris just stole the first of two cars.
02:42This one, a 1967 El Camino.
02:44Let's go take a look before he goes off and steal the next one.
02:47A double hauling takes twice the army.
02:50Builders noticing that this old Chevy is here with its original 327 under the hood.
02:55So give me your first thoughts about the El Camino.
02:57Well, I couldn't really see it because there's such a crowd around it.
03:00There is.
03:01So there must be something really cool about it to get this kind of a draw.
03:05These aren't car audio speakers in here.
03:06They're actually home stereo system speakers and we got a quadraphonic sound.
03:11I think our job's done.
03:12I mean, I don't know if you get much better than home audio.
03:14All right, the A-team's been checking this thing out.
03:16I know they're chomping at the bit to get it deconstructed.
03:19So let's get it inside and get this thing going.
03:21And we will get it going with Team Captain Chip Foose.
03:27This old ride is going to be half of a reveal, the likes of which we have never done before.
03:32A double ending you will have to see to believe.
03:35But before we get the other ride, the focus is all on this El Camino.
03:38A sad little 67 needing love both outside and inside.
03:50Well, we got one more car to steal.
03:52So AJ is going to handle the deconstruction.
03:55And I'm going to go jack that Napa Auto Parts delivery truck.
03:57Are you ready?
03:58Game.
03:59Game.
03:59Rock on.
04:00It's deconstruction with a message from Chip.
04:04Let's get it in pieces.
04:05Pieces, parts, whatever it's going to be, let's do it.
04:09Once I get the second stolen ride back here, this whole team is going to split into two,
04:14with a crew on the other swipe machine and a pack of dudes continuing on Darlene's 1967 Chevy El Camino.
04:21Our Mark also rides motorcycles and she often uses this little wagon to haul around her Harleys.
04:26It's a transport vehicle showing every one of its years, looking like overhauling is coming around just in time.
04:32And speaking of time, we're making darn good time on this Chevy.
04:36For proof of that, we find ourselves creeping up on three quarters past the noon hour,
04:40with Sean ready to tell us what's what and what's next.
04:44It's 12.45 p.m. day one.
04:46Deconstruction's coming along real well.
04:47The parts are about taken apart.
04:49All the body panels on the car look pretty clean.
04:51The left quarter panel has been replaced.
04:53We might have a few issues with that on alignment.
04:55We've got to check that out once it comes back from blasting.
04:57But you can get off the blasting, get it back in a couple hours, and see where we're at.
05:01Well, where we're at now is our second heist.
05:03It'll be the lifting of a delivery truck also driven by our poor Mark Darlene.
05:07We're at Jeff McGill's Beach City's paintless dent removal.
05:10And trust me, I'm lurking around here somewhere on the premises.
05:15What do we got to fill out here now?
05:16He's got your resale card, and where are you going to fill out?
05:18Come out, come out, wherever you are.
05:21Okay.
05:21What store do you usually deal with?
05:23Eh, the local one around here.
05:24I forget where it even comes from.
05:25We just...
05:26I'm standing, so this is a little...
05:27Oh, wow.
05:27Yeah, a little bit farther away, huh?
05:29Right.
05:29Right on.
05:30Okay, so what's this here?
05:31Now remember, her boss let her use the company truck because her own ride was just stolen.
05:37Hey, that guy, the guy just took off in your truck.
05:39Oh, shh.
05:40What the heck?
05:41Oh, it smokes.
05:42I have the key.
05:43Darlene quickly calls up her boss, George.
05:47They took the truck, too?
05:49Oh, my God.
05:50Yeah.
05:50Are you okay, though?
05:52Yeah.
05:53Oh, man.
05:54We called the cops, and they're probably chasing it down now.
05:58The cop hasn't showed up here yet.
05:59Just hang tight.
06:00I'll pick you up right now.
06:01Okay.
06:02Okay?
06:02Bye-bye.
06:02Bye.
06:03She soon meets the cops, not knowing they're from overhauling.
06:07Hold on, man.
06:07Hold on.
06:08Now, ma'am, this is obviously two cars.
06:10I'm very unique.
06:10Yeah, I just...
06:12I'll just come out and say it.
06:12Did you piss somebody off?
06:14No, I didn't.
06:14Are you sure?
06:17I mean, you don't look mean to me.
06:19No, honestly.
06:20Don't cry.
06:21It's all right.
06:22We're going to help you out, man.
06:23We'll get you taken care of.
06:25Next, she calls her husband, Willie, our insider, now hearing today's second batch of bad news from
06:30his wife.
06:30Well, are you okay, sweetie?
06:33Uh, yeah, it's fine.
06:34George is.
06:34She'll be on the way.
06:35She'll be any second to pick me up.
06:38Okay.
06:38Just let me know what's going on, okay?
06:40Yeah, well, no problem.
06:43I think she's holding her composure.
06:44I think you're having a little bit harder of a time than she is right now.
06:47Yeah, because I'm almost crying because I worry about her all the time.
06:50She's my sweetheart.
06:51Yeah.
06:54Chris is on his way in from stealing the Napa delivery truck.
06:57Two cars in one day?
06:58We're doing double time here on Overhauling.
07:00All right, time's wasting, guys.
07:02Take a look at it.
07:04It's in great shape.
07:05This truck's in really good condition.
07:07Can't wait to rip it apart.
07:08But first, check it out.
07:10It's an 03 Chevy S10.
07:12This pickup has always been one of those incredible workhorses delivering dependability on demand.
07:18Napa and many other truck lovers know that you can tailor an S10 to suit your needs.
07:22Well, a work truck is one thing.
07:25A show vehicle is something else.
07:27And the buzz is all about Foose wanting to go crazy with this ride.
07:30We strip the truck, hat and all, knowing that Chip wants the whole thing taken apart.
07:38And when we soon need Shane working under the back end, we just go and put him there.
07:43Guys, I thought you were technicians, professionals, not Neanderthals.
07:47No, this is not the technical way nor the professional way.
07:50Sometimes they're a little stubborn, so you've got to do it the Neanderthal way.
07:53They've got to do what they've got to do.
07:55And as the second deconstruction of the day winds down and the team makes a truck into a pile of parts,
08:00AJ gets the double lowdown from Craig, a project manager with both eyes now on two rides.
08:07Two cars, end of day one.
08:09How did we do?
08:10Everything's looking good.
08:11Car number one, the El Camino, is at the Media Blaster.
08:13We should have that back hopefully in an hour.
08:15The S10 behind us is torn apart.
08:17Get ready to do some body mods tonight.
08:19The frame will be here tomorrow so we can actually switch things over, get that big 502 in there.
08:24All in all, it looks good.
08:28All right, it's morning of day two.
08:30Right now, we're looking pretty good.
08:32We're waiting on the donor car to figure out what we're going to do with that quarter panel,
08:36which was about the worst part on the El Camino here.
08:38All the metal work was just about done last night.
08:41On the El Camino side, we're looking pretty good for Darlene.
08:43The S10's coming along, too.
08:46Right now, we're waiting on the chassis to show up.
08:48Got the guys working on the sheet metal, putting in the new dash in the truck right now.
08:52Getting a couple of the holes welded up on the body panels.
08:55And we're just looking really good right now.
08:58And right now, it's time for a contest with our special guest, NASCAR superstar Michael Waltrip.
09:03Welcome to our first overhaul and build-off.
09:06In this corner, standing five feet, eight inches tall, weighing in at 180 pounds,
09:13hailing from Huntington Beach, California, Chip Boone.
09:17And in this corner, standing six feet, five inches tall, weighing in at 220 pounds,
09:24hailing from Owensboro, Kentucky, Michael Waltrip.
09:29Ready, set, build.
09:33It's our top designer and a NASCAR star, giving tape, decals, black paint,
09:38and 10 minutes to redo a pair of low-riding trike bikes.
09:41Who's going to win?
09:41We'll soon see.
09:43I think that me and my corner staff are bringing this baby home.
09:48There's another idea we're bringing back home, and that's a race.
09:52And just to make sure he stays on his trike, Michael's going with some Velcro.
09:56I won't be coming off my mountain.
09:58Yeah, you can laugh, but that's from a guy who knows how to win the big races.
10:02Uh-oh, the clock is ticking.
10:04Five, four, three, two, one.
10:09Now we want to see him in action, where it's going to be a fight to the finish
10:12between two very fierce competitors.
10:14Good job.
10:14It's now out to the starting line.
10:17Go!
10:17And they're off, out to pedal two laps around the big Nappa hat.
10:21But just who is going to get to the starting line first?
10:25They're both performing like the pros they are, but soon there is a mishap.
10:29Oh, that's gotta hurt.
10:30I don't think Waltrip's seen this kind of action even on a NASCAR track.
10:33Oh, wait, it looks like they're headed for another crack-up.
10:36Oh, it's a good thing Waltrip went with that Velcro.
10:42He's going to need something to keep him on as his crew gets the man back in the race
10:45and Chip Boos works his way to the line, with Michael making a quick comeback
10:49that immediately turns the Hold On Derby into the definition of a photo finish.
10:54It's a tie.
10:55Hey, good timing.
10:57Here comes the donor car.
10:58The donor El Camino is now arriving.
11:00Looks pretty beat up from here, but all the guys really need is the driver's side rear quarter panel.
11:05Hopefully that's in good shape.
11:06Cut it out, pop it onto this car, and we'll be good to go.
11:10It's time for Willie to stop by.
11:12Ah, starting to look like a car again.
11:15See parts of the car everywhere here.
11:18Yeah, mostly that's the one that had a big den in it, in the cinder, in the side there.
11:23Well, look at the...
11:24Yeah, the quarter panel on the inside.
11:26That's amazing.
11:28Willie wants to see Chip's plants.
11:30I just did a little sketch.
11:32Oh, man.
11:33I want to go with kind of a medium gray blue one, maybe in the lighter family.
11:38Okay.
11:39And then the realistic blue fire on it with that blue interior.
11:41Cool.
11:42That's going to look bad.
11:43I think it'll be fun.
11:44Yeah, it's nice, man.
11:46That is great.
11:48We're going to have a little fun with Darlene, make a prank phone call, and mess with her a bit.
11:52Uh, Darlene, my name is Carrie Bakken.
11:55I'm from Internal Shrinkage at Napa Headquarters.
11:57How are you today, ma'am?
11:58Oh, good, thank you.
11:59Could you explain to me about the corporate vehicle that was lost while under your supervision?
12:04I went inside to see the customer.
12:08The customer spotted it, and he said, somebody just drove off in your truck.
12:11I don't know how you folks do it out there, but it's a little ironic that someone could
12:15drive off in a Napa delivery truck with a hat on top of it.
12:18I know, and the customer was shocked, too.
12:20He said he's never seen anything like it in a year and a half in business.
12:23I spoke with the store supervisor there, George Moreno.
12:27Uh-huh.
12:27Quite honestly, I found him to be a little reclusive.
12:31He struck me as a bit shifty.
12:33Do you share that feeling?
12:35Sometimes.
12:36Sometimes.
12:37Uh-huh.
12:37I don't know if you've said anything before, but my own personal vehicle was stolen here
12:42in our parking lot.
12:43Wait a minute.
12:44Pardon me.
12:45Could you back up on that?
12:47Yeah, I was in shock yesterday.
12:49I was totally blown away.
12:50I don't know what the heck went on.
12:52I thought it was going crazy or something.
12:54It's weirder either because I'm a counterperson.
12:56I'm not a driver.
12:57What were you doing driving a company vehicle?
13:00George had me take the vehicle on his delivery.
13:03George.
13:03See, it keeps coming back to George.
13:05George, George, George.
13:06George, George, George.
13:08Uh-huh.
13:08George, George of the jungle.
13:11I'm sorry.
13:12I just.
13:12No, no problem.
13:13Yeah, it's a little bit stuffy here.
13:15Yeah, right.
13:16I can see where you're coming from, right?
13:18I want you to go about your business as usual for now.
13:20Right.
13:21Uh-huh.
13:21You know, don't leave town.
13:23No.
13:23I think it would throw up a red flag if you left town or if maybe you thought about taking
13:28a weekend in Tijuana or something.
13:29Let's not do that.
13:31No.
13:31Just stay close to home.
13:33Don't play the lottery either.
13:34I think you're pretty unlucky.
13:35Yeah.
13:36So, okay.
13:37I've got to go now.
13:38I've got another call I have to take, but like I said, stick around and thank you so much
13:42for your time.
13:43Oh, you're welcome.
13:44Okay.
13:45Bye, darling.
13:46Bye-bye.
13:48So, Craig's arriving with the chassis for the truck.
13:50This is going to be one of the major modifications we're going to be doing on the Napa delivery truck.
13:54This is probably the key modification to the S10 truck.
13:56I mean, complete box frame, putting a new engine in it.
14:01I mean, all new suspension.
14:02This is totally one of a kind from Auto World.
14:05Nice.
14:05So, let's get it off and get it in.
14:07It goes into our original parts group garage, and AJ quickly hops a ride as the cab meets
14:11the new frame.
14:12Well, the girl immediately gets all royal on us, waving to her many groveling subjects,
14:17soon good enough to allow the lowering of her carriage.
14:20After that, the suspension goes on, and Shane fills us in.
14:23Right now, we're in the process of installing the rear suspension to figure out our ride
14:28height stance of the vehicle to see how much Chip wants to modify it.
14:33Well, it looks like Chip wants to modify everything on this truck.
14:37All right.
14:38It's 2 p.m. day three.
14:41Still a lot of work going on in the S10, a lot of brainstorming to see what we're going to
14:45actually cut to make this 502 fit, see if I can't help him out.
14:48We've got to get this car down.
14:49We only have a few days left.
14:50On goes the bed, and we're crossing our fingers and knocking on wood and rubbing our rabbit's
14:55feet in the hopes that Foose is going to be happy with the stance.
14:57What we're looking at right now is where that chassis and where the body sits at ride height.
15:02And right now, I think it's too high.
15:04We're going to be probably step-notching the frame, which involves cutting the frame
15:09and welding some new pieces in.
15:13It also involves cutting the floor of the cab out and dropping the cab down over the frame
15:21deeper.
15:22He works with the plasma cutter, and he doesn't seem to stop.
15:26In fact, he doesn't, not until the entire bottom is dropping out of the bed of this
15:30Chevy truck.
15:31Excuse us, coming through.
15:34Oh, it's coming through, all right.
15:37And once it does, it's time to decide exactly how much lower it can go, and how much work
15:42it's really going to take to make this happen.
15:44I'm going to do a three-inch body drop.
15:45I'm going to pull over the no hood.
15:46I'm going to four inches.
15:47Four-inch body drop.
15:48You can never be too low, you know.
15:50Chris, spell it out for everybody.
15:52Just to make it perfectly clear, this Napa truck project is probably the most extensive
15:59metal work that we've done on this show.
16:02Let me say that again.
16:03This truck requires the most metal work that we've done on this show so far.
16:08There is probably about, I'd say, 40% of the original truck that's going to be remaining
16:13when this thing is given back.
16:15Luckily, we've got the guys that we do on this build, because I think they can handle
16:18it.
16:19That's it, boss.
16:20I'm floored.
16:21Two o'clock in the morning, we've got the ride height situated.
16:24We're going to build some new cab mounts.
16:26The core support, we've got to drop that, get that situated.
16:29We're figuring out new mounts for the bed.
16:31We'll get all that stuff finalized, and then we can start building the floor and the new
16:34motor mounts and tranny mounts, and all the other stuff that goes along with that.
16:39All right, 9.30 a.m., day four.
16:42We're still working on the S10.
16:44Spin this big block 502 into a little S10.
16:47It's been a challenge.
16:49Obviously, no one makes headers for it, so the guys from Lemon Headers came down.
16:52Just a phone call last night, a couple hours' notice.
16:55They're going to fabricate some headers on the spot for us.
16:58That's the only way to do it.
16:59Got to hand-make everything on this truck.
17:01We'll still work on some body work, finish up the dash.
17:04Still a lot more work to do on this S10.
17:07And the work includes that retro-cool dashboard.
17:10Richie and I have been working on this dash since day one.
17:13It's a 57 Chevy dash.
17:15We fill the many holes in the dash, and then we cut the end of the dash off.
17:19Incorporated into the top of the doors with your 57 Chevy wagon top door panels.
17:25The challenge of putting an old steel dashboard in a new car, it has to be the right width.
17:30You have to mate it to the steel body.
17:32You have to make bracing underneath of it.
17:34And you have to make it the right width and match the closed door as well.
17:40Back on the El Camino, the body is reintroduced to the frame, and it's looking like a reunion that was always meant to be.
17:48Returning to the Chevy S10, we see that this ride is getting two engines with a show motor tagging along in the back bed.
17:54That's the new Napa Creek.
17:56A 502 big block with over 500 horsepower and 585 foot-pounds of torque.
18:01That's our mock-up.
18:04Stab.
18:05Kind of caps off the whole truck right there.
18:09It's late in the night while it's already early morning.
18:14Take your pick as we get the wagon hustle to McJack's, the place where Sean's hanging out with the boss himself.
18:20It's 4 a.m. morning of day 5.
18:22We're here at McJack's Corvettes in Orange County, California.
18:25Jack here is going to put some primer on the quarters, basically the rear section and roof of the truck.
18:30The whole front of it's already been primered, jammed, so we've got a little head start there.
18:34A head start as day 5 is about to begin.
18:37Wait a minute, it's already begun.
18:39Another look happened last night on the S10 pickup.
18:41We've got the mounts in for the display engine.
18:43The headers are working on it right now, so still a lot of work.
18:46A long way to go.
18:48Well, it is a long way to go, but back on the El Camino, Jack's already going the distance,
18:53getting the finish on the Chevy and making it as silver as a ride can get.
18:57It's a color from RM hitting that 67 by way of SATA.
19:00It's being made perfect for that airbrush maestro, Mike Lavalli,
19:04the man who is going to spark up some of his incredible true fire on the surface of this vehicle.
19:08But before we unleash Mike, it's time to go back and check out the truck.
19:13A big part of the new S10 is a 502 engine.
19:16The hood's going to need modifying to accommodate this beast and chips just the man who can do it.
19:22On the Napa truck, one of the larger body modifications is this hole in the hood that this large motor is going to be coming out of.
19:28I did not want that to look like a hole that was cut and the motor coming out of like it sounds.
19:32I want the hole to look like it's tailored, finished, or stamped.
19:36Whatever it's going to be, it's going to look right.
19:39So as the hood is made good, the passenger compartment goes up as bottomless as can be.
19:44In short, this cab has no floor.
19:46Not to worry, we have the A-Team.
19:48Guys who are going to spend the rest of the night fabricating one from flat out 100% straight from the workshop scratch.
19:54It's 8 p.m. on Day 5 and the El Camino's over at McJaxx getting prepped so Michael Valli can put on his true flames.
20:01Meanwhile, the guys have a long night ahead of them because there is a ton of work left to do on this truck.
20:06Hopefully by tomorrow morning, this truck will be over at Fix Auto and hopefully get some color on it.
20:11Day 6 and we are in a Fix.
20:15Well, we got the truck here at Fix, getting the body work done on the dash, get this done.
20:19We're going to start priming all the body work that was done and hopefully get this thing jammed in the next 5-6 hours so we can get it painted tomorrow morning early.
20:26Meanwhile, with Darlene's ride…
20:28Morning of Day 6, we're here at McJaxx in Orange County.
20:31Mike LaValle from Killer Paint is back with us.
20:33How are you doing, man?
20:34Good to be back.
20:35Good to have you again.
20:36We're going to shoot a little on the hood, on the sides obviously and a little bit on the tailgate.
20:38Yeah, we're going to come off the wheel wells and onto the bed of the car and just a little bit on the nose and right around the handle portion of the tailgate.
20:47Mike does all kinds of graphics on all kinds of colors.
20:50One of his most requested combos is true fire on black.
20:53This is a rare mix of blue fire on silver.
20:56Whatever the request, Mike knows what to do.
20:59When I saw the car, I knew exactly how I wanted to paint the fire.
21:02He says the car body shapes the fire.
21:04The car will be, or whatever vehicle you're working on, the shape of it will tell you the shape of the fire.
21:10This is a long, straight car, so we're going to have to do some really long stretched outlets to kind of compliment the car.
21:17Mike's fast. In no time, the ride's engulfed in flames.
21:22Okay, it's afternoon of day six now. Mike has completed his true fire on the El Camino. Are you happy with the way it turned out?
21:27Yeah, I think it looks really good.
21:28Think you got one more in you?
21:29Oh yeah.
21:30I'm going to send you over to Fix, have you do the Napa Auto Parts delivery truck too.
21:33No problem.
21:34Look out, because Mike's on fire.
21:35Yeah, Mike's on fire and the clear coat is soon on the El Camino.
21:39Those two facts quickly have the Chevy back over to Original Parts Group, where an eager A-team is ready to assemble Darlene's Dreammobile.
21:47And a good place to start is with that California Performance transmission paired up with the 350 from Guaranty Chevrolet and GM Performance.
21:55All right, it's 11.30 p.m. on day six. We're getting ready to drop the small block Chevy into the El Camino. Let's go, guys.
22:01Jorge gives the command and the gang from Original Parts Group goes into motion, being darn careful around all that new paint.
22:08Well, they're as cautious as can be. And once it's in, my only real question is this. Jorge, did you guys do it right?
22:15That's how it's done.
22:20Now that is hot. I love this. We brought Mike LaValle in. We got two cars going. I've been real busy on the S10. A lot of work going into that one.
22:27I've almost neglected the El Camino, but we got the best team in the world. They're getting it done. It's painted. It's back. It's getting assembled.
22:34And the S10 is over at Fix Auto right now. Probably in about an hour from now, Mike and I can go over there and start putting the graphics and the realistic fire on that one, get it back here, get them both done for D-Day.
22:44But before D-Day, it's Day 7.
22:488 o'clock in the morning, Day 7 still taping and we're about 32 hours away from delivery.
22:54The man of a thousand faces is facing the truth. This team has to hustle if they want to get to D-Day on time.
23:00They quickly make with the Napa Yellow as Chip and Mike sort their way through a whole lot of graphics for the truck.
23:05Right now what we're doing is just organizing all the die-cut masks for all the lettering and the logos.
23:11Those logos are part of what's going to make this ride one fun and busy show truck.
23:15A machine that'll get attention every place it rolls into.
23:19Alright, it's afternoon at Day 7. Chip and the guys have the Napa Auto Parts delivery truck taped off.
23:23We're ready to spray that beautiful Napa blue. Let's get it going.
23:26Todd gets busy with the blue here at Fix Auto, where an S10 pickup is becoming one of the most unique delivery trucks ever made.
23:32A low riding stunner that's also going to be a big part of Darlene's upcoming reveal.
23:38The blue has been shot. The car has been unmasked. Mike LaValley is going to come in the booth right now and put his true fire on the car.
23:44Mike gets right to it, laying down those one-of-a-kind LaValley flames.
23:48And while all this fiery fun continues, we're going to check back in at Original Parts Group, where new gear arrives by the hour.
23:54All the dress-up items, the intake manifold, all that stuff came from Summit Racing, and it'll definitely improve the looks of our big block and the small block.
24:04And right along with that delivery from Summit, Dan from A&M Upholstery drops off the new interior for the wild Chevy S10.
24:11Alright, we got the Sparco seats, and it was a joint effort with A&M Auto Upholstery and Catskin.
24:16Dave Solomon from Catskin Leather provided us with all the materials that we needed, brought the seats over, gave us a design,
24:23and here's what we got. The nice two-tone colors with the perforated inserts, double-stitch in a yellow French seam.
24:31It looks great. I think they're going to love it.
24:33Yeah, looks good to me.
24:34AJ, who's here now?
24:36I'm here with the guys from J&G Customs. They just brought in the kick panels in the subwoofer enclosure. What do we have here?
24:41What we got is our custom kick panels that we made, housing the Boston Acoustic Pro 50 component speakers.
24:46We're also using it as an access mount instead of a separate mount, so we keep everything together a little bit nicer.
24:51We also have our subwoofer enclosure here, which houses the Boston G2 series woofer and the Boston GT40 amplifier.
24:57This whole setup is going to do real well, power the front components and the woofers using one amp.
25:02Darlene, tomorrow's D-Day, you're going to be rocking out.
25:05Rocking out, but we're still rolling out our extensive list.
25:08A long and lengthy roster of stuff still left to do on Darlene's 67 El Camino, illuminating fixtures like the lights.
25:15Brake pedals, steering, and don't forget the custom blue interior from our pals at Bill Dunn.
25:21Guys who get the carpet and headliner installed in a snap.
25:24Meanwhile, it's time to check in with the truck.
25:27Mike's busy making big time headway with those flames.
25:31That burns away as Foose adds his personal touch to the multitude of graphics.
25:35And as soon as all the eye candy is where it should be, it's time for Todd to zap it with the final colors and the clear coat.
25:41With all this work, I have a request.
25:44Chip, clue us in, brother.
25:46It's nine o'clock in the evening, day seven.
25:48Todd's putting the final coat of clear on the truck now.
25:50Once that's dry, we're going to get it loaded onto a flatbed and get it back over to the original parts group garage.
25:55That'll give us about 18 hours to assemble a truck for delivery. Fast delivery, that is.
26:00Goodbye, Fix. Hello, original parts group, where the El Camino's 350 engine is about to start with its very impressive 330 horsepower.
26:08This thing should be ready to roar.
26:10Wait! Look who's back!
26:1212.30 a.m. D-Day. Got the Napa truck back from Fix Auto. Ready to get it inside. Get this thing together.
26:19Sorry, Jorge. What were you saying?
26:21Me and Rob are about to get the snore started. See if it starts right up. Go for it, Rob.
26:28Got to get up here. Go for it.
26:33Third time's a charm. Come on, guys. Let's do it.
26:37Ready?
26:41Ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff.
26:44That's it. It's ready to go.
26:46Ready to go into half of our double haul and reveal.
26:51What time is it, Chip?
26:5310.30. D-Day.
26:55Maybe Chip's finally losing it.
26:57As you know, this is a big day on overhauling.
27:00Now, this is pretty much a tale of two trucks. Let's start with the El Camino.
27:04That bad boy is almost finished. All they basically have to do is spray a little bed liner, put the wheels and tires on, fire it up once again.
27:11We did fire it about 3 a.m. last night. Works like a charm. And that bad boy is done.
27:16Napa Auto Parts delivery truck is a little bit of a different story.
27:20A lot of stuff still needs to be done on that.
27:22First of all, they need to make mounts for the DVD screen that's going to go in the back.
27:25The transmission needs to be hooked up to the rear end.
27:28They'll need to do the brake lines, the fuel lines, all the wiring.
27:31In the cab of the truck, they need to drill holes for the seat mounts.
27:34They need to do all the dash stuff, such as putting gauges in, the steering column, all that stuff.
27:39The cab and the body, they need to go together and to be put onto the frame.
27:43That sounds like a lot, because it is. But you know what?
27:46This is overhauling, and we always seem to get it done.
27:50Got a headache this big. It's got overhauling written all over it.
27:54Well, Craig, take two vehicles and administer vital treatment to both of them.
27:57Actually, that's already underway in our operating room here at Original Parts Group.
28:01Right now, the 67 is being upgraded to excellent.
28:05As for Dr. Foose, he's built a crew that can pull off a double hauling.
28:09Having learned by Chip's example, car after car, this A-team knows how to foose up a ride,
28:14even when the man himself is busy elsewhere.
28:17I have to thank every one of these guys, because I've been concentrating on the delivery truck,
28:21and these guys have done a wonderful job. This is a beautiful truck,
28:24and I think Darlene's going to love it.
28:26So, thank you guys. Everyone but Scratch and Brian.
28:36The Radical Napa delivery truck is finally coming together,
28:39with everyone being incredibly careful around that new and unique custom paint job.
28:44It's dual monster engines and dual giants rolling in the back.
28:48Tires from Mickey Thompson around newly created Foose wheels from MHT.
28:52It's a paradox when you think about it.
28:54How can those tires be so big with the truck riding so low?
28:57Totally crazy, and I think Chris agrees with me.
29:00Crazy, man. Those things are 18 inches wide.
29:04Insane!
29:05And you want something low? Check this out.
29:07This truck's so low, we can't even get the jack out from under there.
29:11And how many rear engines have their very own rear video screen,
29:15complete with their very own episode of overhauling?
29:18Well, everything's working.
29:20Basically, we have the 15 inch screen that we're going to be showing this episode on.
29:25The Boston SL speakers in the rear.
29:27We have the DVD player up front.
29:30There's three words for our time crunch.
29:32This is madness, chaos, idiocy. There's no way we can finish, right?
29:38We're wrong. We got the A-Team cracking on. It's almost 6 p.m. on D-Day.
29:42Looks like there's a lot of work left to be done, but we got the right guys for the job.
29:46No sweat, baby. Let's do this thing.
29:48Oh, they're doing this thing all right, and they're doing it as quickly as they can.
29:52Yeah, it's quick with the steering wheel, quick with the lights, and quick with the hood.
29:57The remade part clears the engine, so now we're clear to start that motor.
30:02This thing's got to purr like a kitten. Got a lot of horsepower here.
30:05The Napa truck is ready to fire. 502, baby.
30:08Okay, guys. Hit it.
30:17Go for it.
30:22Whoa!
30:27Very cool. And now it's time to juggle up a shine.
30:30On the Chevys, we'll be using three different Armor All wipes.
30:33Not bad, right?
30:35AJ's hard at work.
30:37We're moments away from the reveal. It's time to detail the car and make it shine.
30:41We're Armor All-ing here at Overhauling, with Armor All both inside and out, just in time for our final prank.
30:52Our cops validate Darlene's theory, claiming only her boss, George, had the keys to steal the truck.
30:57Your suspicions were probably correct. We have an eyewitness who says, kind of corroborates your story.
31:02Oh, really?
31:03Yeah, so we're going to get George, and we're going to just kind of, you know, try to get him out of the store
31:07before he can do anything to himself or to anybody in there.
31:10You know, we don't know how these things go sometimes when somebody's accused of something.
31:13So why don't you hold tight here, and just relax, and we'll be out in a minute.
31:17Okay.
31:18So Captain and Lee go into Napa to bust George, and as Darlene waits, she has no idea she's about to be double-hauled.
31:24We have the suspect in custody. Watts is trying not to kick his ass.
31:28Just to let you know, we're revealing to Darlene in stages, so don't assume she's about to get the joyous news about her precious El Camino anytime soon.
31:37Okay, guys, you can send that backup unit in, please.
31:39At the moment, Darlene is both nervous and confused.
31:42She knew George had the keys to steal the Napa S10, but did he also steal her 67 El Camino?
31:48She thinks she's about to find out.
31:50Congratulations, Darlene.
31:51What?
31:52You're on overhaul.
31:54No way.
31:56Yeah.
31:57You're kidding.
31:58No way!
32:00Now, Darlene, one week ago, we stole something very near and dear to your heart.
32:06We've given it a complete overhaul, and the Napa Auto Parts Delivery Truck is absolutely stellar right now.
32:12You're going to be able to see it in just a little bit.
32:14This is actually a whole setup.
32:16You've been chosen as the Napa Auto Parts Employee of the Year for the entire country.
32:25And we've got this gentleman here from Atlanta, Georgia.
32:28He's from the Napa headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
32:30You were the boy that talked to you on the phone?
32:32Yes, I was.
32:33We flew out from corporate.
32:34I'm here to give you this Golden Cap Award for outstanding service to Napa Corp for your
32:40duties and your hard dedication to the corporation.
32:44We'd like to present this to you.
32:46How have you been feeling since your truck has been stolen?
32:49Oh, my car.
32:50My truck, yeah.
32:51It's...
32:52Well, man, your car still is stolen.
32:54My car is...
32:55Ironically, you guys, her car was stolen.
32:57We're still looking for that.
32:58That's the one I want.
33:00Well, we're working on that.
33:01We're working on that.
33:02Where are you making your deliveries in the meantime this week?
33:05I'm not normally a delivery driver.
33:07Ah.
33:08I work the counter.
33:09That's what I do.
33:10I got you.
33:11Just for some reason sent me out on that day and drive that truck.
33:14And then this hoodlum, George, all week long has been in on it with us.
33:17Yeah.
33:18He's the one who sent you on that delivery, so...
33:20Now, he nominated you for Employee of the Year for Napa.
33:23Uh-huh.
33:24So he's actually responsible for your receiving this award.
33:27Oh, okay.
33:28As you're discovering by now, we've only begun to prank our mark, with poor Darlene thinking
33:32she's supposed to be excited because Napa's getting their truck overhauled, while her beloved
33:37El Camino is still gone and probably gone for good.
33:40All right.
33:41Well, let's move this Napa party back over to the garage and give Darlene her delivery truck
33:45back to make everybody happy.
33:47Darlene, are you ready for your life to change?
33:51Okay.
33:52Prepare for an amazing sight.
33:54Oh, my God.
33:56Whoa, that is radical.
34:04Nothing but the best for our Employee of the Year.
34:07Whoa.
34:08The Cap Award.
34:09Geez.
34:10Awesome.
34:11It sure is pretty.
34:12It sure is.
34:14It just might be the most radical ride in overhaul in history.
34:19And yes, Darlene knows it's definitely not hers.
34:23But you have to know she wants it.
34:25With new Foose wheels and a wild paint job by Fix Auto and Mike Lavallee.
34:29Plus A&M upholstery and a catskin leather interior.
34:33Yeah, poor Darlene's supposed to be excited over a cool ride that isn't hers.
34:37A truck that's stellar from every angle.
34:39You just got Employee of the Year.
34:41Uh-huh.
34:42And a brand new delivery truck.
34:44How are you feeling?
34:45Amazed.
34:46This is fantastic.
34:47And looking at it's one thing.
34:49You want to hear it?
34:50Yeah, let's hear it.
34:51You let Reardon start it?
34:52Do you know anything about cars?
34:53It's got a key, don't it?
34:55All right.
34:56Do it on behalf of your corporation.
34:58It looks like my daddy's old hot rod in here.
35:00Whew.
35:01It is great.
35:04But the whole time, she's dreaming of a different overhaul and stirring her stolen 67 El Camino.
35:10What do you think, Darlene?
35:13Pretty impressive, huh?
35:14Yes, it is.
35:15Very.
35:16What do you think on this thing?
35:17That'd be a fast delivery, huh?
35:19Okay, trooper that she is, Darlene keeps smiling as Nappa gets a masterpiece.
35:24And their Employee of the Year has something to say.
35:27I'm Darlene and I've just been overhauled.
35:30Yeah!
35:31That gang is clapping and they sure are smiling because they know something Darlene doesn't.
35:36And with the show supposedly over, our mark is about to be led away to sign papers while
35:42we reset the stage.
35:44Nice to meet you, too.
35:45Nice to meet you, too.
35:46Nice to meet you, too.
35:47It's been a pleasure.
35:48Nice to meet you, too.
35:49Yep.
35:50We'll see you.
35:51Darlene's just gone in to fill out some paperwork for her, you know, appearance release, whatever
35:55it is.
35:56We're gonna switch cars.
35:57She's gonna come back out to take one last glance and start off.
36:01We got her.
36:02Sweet Darlene is tired and she thinks it's over.
36:04But for her, it's really just beginning.
36:07Ask Shane, a man in on the plan.
36:09We just gave Darlene back her delivery truck and she thought that was the real reveal.
36:14But that was just the teaser.
36:15That was just the taste.
36:16Even though this was the most work, that El Camino is what she loves.
36:20This El Camino right here, that's what's gonna make her cry like a little baby.
36:27We tell Darlene we need more photos of her with the S10.
36:30She's about to find out she has been overhauled.
36:37Oh, shoot.
36:39For Darlene, this week hasn't been a rollercoaster, it's been an absolute earthquake.
36:43You want to sit in it and check it out?
36:56Oh, my God.
36:57Oh, my God.
36:58It's beautiful.
36:59I'm scared to drive it.
37:00Oh, I'm speechless.
37:01Yeah?
37:02Wow.
37:03That is one very cool and very hot 67 El Camino, a ride that has come a very long way in a very short time.
37:10Oh, my God.
37:11Oh, my God.
37:12Oh, my God.
37:13It's beautiful.
37:14I'm scared to drive it.
37:15Oh, I'm speechless.
37:16Yeah?
37:17Wow.
37:18That is one very cool and very hot 67 El Camino, a ride that has come a very long way in a very
37:32short time.
37:33The great Mike Lavallee also burned his work into this beauty as well, on top of a perfect
37:38paint job from the Jack's Corvettes.
37:41And inside, it's an amazing interior from Bill Dunn.
37:44What do you think?
37:45Anything jumping out at you immediately?
37:47The flames.
37:48I love the flames on there.
37:50Beautiful, isn't it?
37:51It is.
37:52Now, did you know that this was happening while you were back there?
37:54No.
37:55Were you walking out here just expecting to take some more B.S. publicity?
37:58Yes.
37:59Yes.
38:00I want you to know here that Chris Wheeler here is not from Napa, and he's not from Atlanta.
38:08He's actually one of the builders on the A-Team, so are you happy?
38:11Yeah.
38:12Overwhelmed.
38:13He's shaking.
38:14I know.
38:15He is.
38:16Well, the guy we got to introduce you to first, of course, is our team leader, Chip Foose.
38:20He's the man who brought this to reality.
38:22Congratulations.
38:23You never thought you'd ever see it again, did you?
38:24No.
38:25I'm in Scotland.
38:26Well, aren't you glad?
38:27What's that little tear?
38:28Good girl.
38:29And what's under the hood?
38:44Well, how about a California Performance transmission working behind a new 350 from Guaranty Chevrolet
38:49and GM Performance?
38:51Darlene, check it all out.
38:53It's got a brand new carburetor intake on it.
38:56Hedman header.
38:57Would you like to hear it?
38:58Yeah.
39:04That's bad.
39:06Don't think you'd be sneaking up on anybody in this thing, huh?
39:10No, I don't think so.
39:11A car this good needs a sound system that's going to stand up to it.
39:16And if you want your home stereo speakers back, we'll be having them for you.
39:21That was a pumping system.
39:23I think these guys stepped it up for you.
39:25Yeah, J&G Customs really did step it up a bit, giving Darlene a sound system worth shouting
39:31about.
39:32A little better hop.
39:33Yeah, real good, yeah.
39:34To our former Mark, this El Camino is a member of the family, a valued vehicle she's been
39:45wanting to fix up for a very long time.
39:48Well, Darlene, no need to want that redo any longer.
39:51It's here.
39:52You seemed a little upset and struck when your El Camino was gone.
39:56What does this car mean to you?
39:58It's just beyond words, really.
40:01It's just attached to it, you know?
40:03And it's like something you always wanted to do something with when you come have the
40:08money and the time and that eventually down the road, you know?
40:11And I just want to thank everybody.
40:13I just, I still can't believe I'm in shock and I'm just totally amazed.
40:18And in the time, you guys did a fantastic job.
40:21I just don't know what else to say.
40:23Thank you all.
40:26Not many marks get two reveals here at Overhauling.
40:29But when you've earned them like Darlene has, that's exactly what you get.
40:33A killer El Camino and a mind-blowing S10.
40:36And this time, she's going to say it like she means it.
40:39I'm Darlene and I've just been overhauled.
40:43She was tricked twice, tricked out twice, and next time it just might be you.
40:49Catch you next time on Overhauling.
40:51How about that motor?
40:53Big.
40:55Big.
40:56Our team captain is grateful.
40:58It's amazing when you put all the effort in one week.
41:01And I really didn't get to spend a lot of time on the El Camino
41:05because I was consumed with the S10.
41:07But this crew and this family that's come together to build these cars,
41:11it's just a pleasure to work with them all.
41:13And I thank every one of you for making all this happen.
