00:00All right, break's over, and it's back to school here on Overhauling.
00:09Because this ride will be swiped from a school, a junky jalopy that's a rust-filled relic.
00:13It's going to test our repair skills and our resolve.
00:16And Foos is about to push Team Stitchcraft to the limit.
00:19It just might be an interior design that's more than even the best can handle.
00:23When it comes to pranks, we'll discover our mark is one forceful and feisty firecracker.
00:27The girl has claws, and she is not afraid to use them.
00:31All that and more.
00:32Where the owner gets tricked.
00:33And the car gets tricked out.
00:34Oh, my God.
00:36Here on Overhauling.
00:40I am gasoline.
00:44That's right.
00:45I am gasoline, bitches.
00:57Hey, I'm Courtney.
01:03And I'm Disco Stu.
01:05And we're doing up the 1970 Camaro of a student named Nicole, a gear-headed girl who's been working on her car over at Citrus Community College.
01:12Key to this con is our insider, the corn dog, Dennis Korn, Nicole's automotive instructor at Citrus Community.
01:18And, of course, Nicole's folks, Bonnie and Tris, are working the crafty side of this diversion with us as well.
01:24Here we are at Citrus, where our mark is learning all about auto repair.
01:28Well, today, Nicole is going to learn all about auto theft from one of her teachers, no less.
01:34This is Dennis Korn, works for Citrus College.
01:36What's your title at Citrus College?
01:38I'm just a professor of automotive technology.
01:40And our mark, Nicole, is a student in your program?
01:42Yes, she is.
01:43Is she a good student?
01:44She's an excellent student.
01:45Well, she might be excellent, but we can't say the same for the condition of her old Camaro.
01:50Yeah, she'd have to be excellent if she's going to restore this hunk of junk.
01:53Now, her missing engine makes things tricky, but with a little elbow grease, we soon get the Chevy onto the truck.
01:59We won't have to take the hood off at the shop, but we do need to remember to bring it along with us now.
02:03And while the Camaro's loading up, Chris checks it out, trying to see what kind of week we have in front of us.
02:08Now, I know this car looks like a beater right now, but giving it a close inspection,
02:13it's actually pretty rust-free and pretty straight.
02:16So this is a very good project car to start with.
02:18Definitely overhauling worthy.
02:20And to make this heist both overhauling worthy and looking legit,
02:24we're also taking another car, with the teacher's permission, of course.
02:30And who's in charge of this Camaro's overhauling?
02:32Who else?
02:33Our design king and team captain, Chip Foose.
02:36All right, well, Chris stole the car early this morning.
02:39The A-team is eagerly awaiting its arrival, and now it's time to go to work on Nicole's Camaro.
02:46No, it's clean, you guys.
02:47I got it.
02:49All I can say is good thing Camie Adel Brock is here, because there ain't no engine in this bad boy.
02:53This inspection is about the mark as well as the car.
02:56That's right, and Nicole's left us plenty of clues about her personality.
03:00Nicole's got a sweet tooth.
03:03We found these in the glove box, and she's definitely a pack rat.
03:07And what does Revo from Stitchcraft have planned for this ride?
03:10Are you thinking that we're going to go, you know, big time with the interior?
03:14Are you going to keep it kind of classic?
03:16Well, we're thinking that we have to go big on the interior.
03:21That's what we do.
03:22And we're going big with the car talent today,
03:24shipping in Kevin Gooch and Mike Evans from year one.
03:27Tell us about your initial thoughts about the car.
03:30I've seen better.
03:31But you know what?
03:32Just from looking over the car, it seems to be relatively rust-free.
03:35I mean, I know we're going to discover more when we get underneath the paint and everything,
03:38but it's looking pretty good.
03:40Okay, not so fast there, Chris.
03:42We've got a ton of rust.
03:44Hey, wait, what was I just saying about no rust?
03:47Well, we just got everything out of the trunk,
03:49and it basically resembles a large hunk of Swiss cheese.
03:52That is a whole lot of rust.
03:54Time to regroup and get a game plan.
03:56All right, Lewis, well, the ever-important question,
04:02where are you thinking you're going to want to go with the design of the car?
04:05I want to find out what her dream is and maybe talk to the family and figure it out from there.
04:09But nobody's figuring out nothing from nowhere until we get this thing taken apart.
04:15So everybody starts pitching in and starts pitching out parts from the car.
04:19Hi.
04:20My favorite part of the show once again, taking the car apart.
04:23This is a time when I can really contribute.
04:24And it's a safe bet that these parts won't contribute much to the finished Camaro, with a few exceptions.
04:30This is the only part of the stair that Nicole's going to be able to ever see again.
04:34It's a pretty good head unit, Ken.
04:35When it looks brand new, we'll use it.
04:37But the Alphasonic is going to come and rock it to the party, y'all.
04:40And right now, we're rocking this deconstruction party a bit long,
04:44because the clock on the wall says we have a sandblasting to get to.
04:47It's day one, pulling the car apart.
04:49We've run into a little bit of a speed bump here.
04:51The guy who's going to sandblast the car is only there until 5, right?
04:55At 5 o'clock, he goes home.
04:56That's a very short time to get the car torn apart.
04:59And even with the team now working on the high caffeine level,
05:02we just might need Project Manager Craig on the phone, with a little favor to ask.
05:07Okay, thank you.
05:08All right, bye.
05:09See you next time.
05:10That was Jimmy over at the media sandblasting company,
05:14and he's going to squeeze it in for us.
05:17Thank you, Jimmy.
05:18And now, our own Chris has something to say.
05:21I was completely wrong when I said that this car looks pretty straight and rust-free.
05:25It is pretty straight, but rust-free, man, if I said that, it must be opposite day.
05:29I'm trying to remember when I had my last car shot.
05:34So after the car gets back from the sandblasting,
05:37Nicole's mom, Bonnie, comes by to take a look.
05:40She's also here to meet the boy wonder named Foose.
05:42Chip Foose, Bonnie, Nicole's mom.
05:44Very nice to meet you.
05:46What do you think of what you see now?
05:47I'm just shocked that it was as bad as it obviously is.
05:52So are we.
05:53Chip, I was going to ask you.
05:54The car just came back from Media Blast.
05:56What are you thinking of the Camaro at this point?
05:59Honestly, it's a total.
06:00There's so much rust in it.
06:03It's worth more to fix the rust than the car is worth.
06:05Thanks, Bonnie.
06:06We appreciate this project.
06:07But the big questions I have is, what is Nicole's favorite color?
06:10For the car, silver.
06:11Is there any graphics that she thought she wanted to do?
06:14Black racing stripes.
06:15Would you say that Nicole is a simple person, or is she kind of flashy?
06:20Not flashy.
06:21She's more just kind of like me, like a Levi's in t-shirt kind of girl.
06:25Doesn't wear a lot of makeup.
06:26So in essence, she's a car chick, Camaro chick.
06:29Does she like practical jokes?
06:30Only if she's the one doing them.
06:33Well, Nicole, you're going to get practical jokes all week before you get your car back.
06:38Nicole got to class tonight.
06:40Our insider, Dennis Corn, told her that her car had been stolen.
06:43And he said, I had a detective out there this afternoon, checked everything out.
06:47He wants to talk to you.
06:48So Nicole called me.
06:50She left me a message.
06:51And now we're going to call Nicole.
06:54Hello?
06:55Hi, my name is Detective Steve Abrams.
06:56I just received your message about your vehicle.
07:00Uh-huh.
07:01Well, first of all, what kind of vehicle is it?
07:03It's a 70 Camaro.
07:051970.
07:05Blue.
07:06Has no engine in it.
07:07There's no engine in the car.
07:09No, I'm rebuilding the engine.
07:10You own this vehicle?
07:12Yes, I do.
07:13Yes, because you...
07:13And all my stuff is gone.
07:14I had headers behind it.
07:16I had a hood behind it.
07:17And do you happen to know what the vehicle identification number is off the top of your head?
07:22I don't have it offhand.
07:23It's only 13 numbers.
07:25Okay.
07:26We can get that later on.
07:27Now, this is...
07:30And this is something that I spoke to Mr. Korn about.
07:34We were thinking that it might have been fellow students who stole the car.
07:38So if you could do me a favor and not discuss it with any of your fellow students.
07:42Okay.
07:42Okay, thank you.
07:44Goodbye.
07:45Goodbye.
07:45She's very feisty.
07:49Is that her normal kind of personality?
07:51Uh-huh.
07:51I'm afraid of Nicole.
07:54We've got some work ahead of us, boys.
07:56That's something of an understatement, Andreas.
07:58Since Kevin and Mike have to remove and replace almost everything on the car's rear end.
08:03That goes on as Jeff BK gets to work on the doors and the mounts.
08:08And soon it's clear that there's more rust on this body than solid metal.
08:12So while this killer team attacks that oxidation, let's see what Chip and Revo have in mind for
08:16the interior.
08:17As if this build wasn't tough enough, Chip's designing a custom interior that would normally
08:21take Team Stitchcraft a solid month to finish.
08:24All these overhauled builds and Foose still doesn't understand the concept of a week.
08:29It's going to be a long six days.
08:31Yeah.
08:33We can do that.
08:37Coming up at the drawing board, Chip's designs for the car.
08:52On day one with Nicole's Camaro, we had a rude awakening after we swiped her ride from
08:57Citrus Community College.
08:58This thing is rust city, needing a whole lot more repair than new body mods.
09:03So as day two begins, we're preparing to do some patching, trying to pump some care into
09:08this crusty and crudline Camaro.
09:11If we had repair panels like this, no way we'd finish in seven days.
09:16Luckily, year one has hooked us up with new panels, but there are still holes to be filled.
09:20I've got to fill all these holes.
09:21So instead of just filling the holes individually, I'm going to make one big piece that comes
09:28around here and fill this whole section and then just weld it on the seam.
09:32There's enough metal work here to keep everybody busy.
09:35We even had to pull Courtney in here to start doing some grinding.
09:45All right, we got the power.
09:47Edelbrock brought us the power.
09:49350 cubic inches of it.
09:51Let's see what this baby looks like.
09:53The last baby looks like, oh my God.
09:55It's not only pretty, but it runs good too.
10:02All right.
10:02Yeah.
10:08Hello?
10:09Nicole, hi.
10:09It's Detective Abrams calling.
10:11Hi.
10:12I have a little bit of a problem with the information that I received from you because when I spoke
10:17to you last, you told me that you were the owner of the car.
10:22Yeah, I am the owner of the car.
10:23Okay, well, when I did a title search, Bonnie's name came up as the registered owner.
10:29Yeah, it's under my mom's name, under the insurance and everything.
10:32Whoever is the registered owner, that's whose name is on the title and on the insurance.
10:36So when you told me that you were the owner of the car, it put me off on a wild goose
10:41chase and wasted a lot of my time.
10:43Okay, well, then why don't you call me back and tell me that?
10:45Well, because what I thought I was doing was tracking down the actual owner of the vehicle.
10:49Then why don't you just call my mother back and talk to her then?
10:51I can do that.
10:52That's perfectly fine.
10:53So I should just cut you out of this equation then.
10:55Is that how you want to proceed?
10:57Okay, I'm sorry that I'm getting upset with you.
10:59But from now on, when you're dealing with legal matters, you need to be as clear as possible.
11:04Well, but you being the police officer has to clarify.
11:08Okay.
11:08That's your job.
11:11I understand.
11:12So we'll share fault in this.
11:14I apologize, Nicole.
11:16Okay.
11:16So I'll be in touch on Monday then.
11:19Okay, thank you.
11:19Okay, goodbye.
11:21Goodbye.
11:25She is a firecracker.
11:27This is Nicole's Camaro and the front end that was obviously on her car.
11:32And this is what Chip hopes to do with the front end of the car.
11:36To achieve that look, Foose is going to combine front ends from a 69 and a 70 Camaro.
11:42See all this stuff, this time we spent sending these parts, and look what they do, man.
11:50They're just whacking them up.
11:57All right, well, here we have the mock-up car, and Revo and Andreas are using the mock-up car
12:02to fit the custom dash and instrument panel.
12:05We all know that the intricacy in the dash, the Chip design, normally would take anywhere
12:11from three weeks to four weeks.
12:13We've got just another five days to go.
12:16The team works late into evening two, removing rust and shaping the panels.
12:20And leading the pack is a chap named Chip, working to make that front end into a wing.
12:26I'd say probably tomorrow, tomorrow afternoon we'll be in the paint shop.
12:33You got nine more.
12:34All right.
12:35Well, I'm here with Kelly from Specialized, so we brought you our subframe and A-arms.
12:48What are we going to be doing today?
12:50Well, now that they're sandblasted, we're going to go inside and do an electrostatic powder coat finish.
12:54I think we're going to have you do it today.
12:56I get to do it?
12:57Yes, ma'am.
12:57All right, a different kind of dirty.
12:59Well, we've got a car to build.
12:59Let's do it.
13:00Now what you want to do is just keep about a foot away from the part, pull the trigger.
13:06Just aim.
13:06Basically, what the gun is going to do is shoot an electrostatic cloud.
13:17As the particles of powder travel through it, they're going to cling to this part, similar to the dust to a TV screen.
13:24Soon, stage one is stage done.
13:27All right.
13:28Looks good.
13:29I think we're ready to roll in the oven now.
13:31So, this stuff is going to bake for about 30 minutes at approximately 400 degrees.
13:37And then, Nicole, your subframe and A-arms are going to be good as new.
13:44Okay, we've got a Edelbrock supplied 350 Chevrolet engine here to go in 70 Camaro.
13:50We've got all these pieces for Summit.
13:52They shipped them next day.
13:54We're going to mock everything up so everything fits perfectly.
13:58No problem.
13:59We'll be ready to go.
14:00I think this is going to be a good build.
14:18Nicole's mom said our mark wanted a silver car with black racing stripes.
14:22But with just these lines, we don't know what colors Foose is going for.
14:26Nicole, I've got a line drawing.
14:27I'm going to get some color on this, and we'll take this and make it big.
14:32But before we're going to make it big, we're going to get our color scheme out of the guy,
14:35waiting to see if Nicole's going to get that silver and black striped Camaro.
14:39And so far, it looks like it's happening that way,
14:41because even with his non-metallic pens and markers,
14:44Foose's amazing technique tells us that a champ named Chip is going for the silver.
14:48Cutting, masking, and a whole lot of other skills go into Chip's rendering.
15:01And once it's all done, we rediscover a whole lot of hidden energy.
15:04There you go, Nicole. Hope you like it.
15:17Hello?
15:18Nicole?
15:20Yes?
15:21This is Detective Abrams.
15:23Hi.
15:23I need to ask you about Dennis Korn.
15:27What exactly is your relationship with Dennis?
15:30He's my teacher.
15:31Has Mr. Korn ever asked you if you were willing to sell your vehicle?
15:35No.
15:36Would you be available to possibly help me out tomorrow?
15:39Yeah.
15:40Okay, I'll talk to you tomorrow.
15:42All right.
15:43Bye-bye.
15:43Bye-bye.
15:44So now, everything's back from powder coating.
15:54And that means it's time to attach the shiny new suspension and a set of stop-on-a-dime brakes.
16:04And what about that crusty old rear differential?
16:07Well, you could say it's gone.
16:09It's beyond gone.
16:11Now that it's going to be replaced by a brand spanking new diff from the dudes at DiffWorks.
16:20This is probably the biggest body mod that we have going on on the Camaro.
16:24Of course, Scratch is talking about that custom front end that's being grinded down and attached to the car by Chip.
16:31I think the front of this car is going to look really cool.
16:33It's very identifiable as an overall Camaro, the 70-year.
16:37Late into the night, Revo and Andreas worked the long hours thanks to that tough interior.
16:44It seems like we always work a lot quicker and faster at nighttime.
16:47I don't know why.
16:48We're actually going to do something that's never been done before.
16:51We're going to actually build the part out of the car because we have to and hope when we're finished that.
16:57It works.
16:59Stapling down this fleece is tougher than it looks.
17:01You have to get the tension just right or it won't hold later on.
17:05Yeah, but fortunately for this Camaro, Revo is one of the best.
17:09Coming up, our mark doesn't tick kindly to pranks.
17:12I don't know who you're getting your information from, but it's not true.
17:15Morning of day four, the guys work through the night.
17:28As you can see, most of the metal work is done, but we cannot wait anymore.
17:32We're going to take it over to Fix to have all the rest of the sheet metal work and the paint work done,
17:35and hopefully we get it back in two days.
17:37Two days sounds a bit optimistic when you consider just how much body work still has to be done under Cole's Camaro.
17:43Time isn't on our side at the moment, but luckily the team at Fix Auto is,
17:47and they're just waiting to get their hands on this ship.
17:50Once the car arrives, it's time for some grinding and aligning.
17:53Let's go around the edge before we take it off and get it as close as possible.
17:57The guys are aligning the sheet metal.
17:59The front end needs to be tied in.
18:01We need to mount the bumpers in the front and rear.
18:04I think we'll knock it out in about three hours.
18:06They should have this thing primered in about five.
18:08And soon we hear the rumble of a righteous two-wheeled hog onto the scene.
18:17Nice!
18:18Our insiders have arrived.
18:20Time again to show Nicole's folks what's what on the project.
18:24Now what do you think of the car's progress so far?
18:26Beautiful.
18:27And the door handles are gone.
18:28You see that?
18:29Yeah.
18:29Now you see a couple of the Chip Foo signatures already.
18:32First of all, the shaved door handles and no side mirrors.
18:35Tell me how you think she's going to react when she realizes that she's been overhauled.
18:39She will cry.
18:41She will scream.
18:43And I'll do the same.
18:50Time for Team Stitchcraft to roll the mock-up car into the main shop so they can continue their work on the dash.
18:56Revo and the team keep on shaping, sanding down all that molding foam.
18:59This is an area they've been perfecting for days.
19:02Revo, I understand you guys.
19:03Do you feel like you're a little bit behind schedule?
19:05Yeah.
19:07I'm feeling like we're a couple of days behind.
19:09So they move quickly, covering the fixtures with fabric.
19:12Andreas joins Revo to resin it all up, making the dash rock solid.
19:16And so it goes.
19:17One pro team of interior artists doing what they can to catch up with the build.
19:24After my phone conversation with Nicole yesterday, she went to class and announced in front of the entire class what an inept detective I was
19:31and that Mr. Korn here was my leading suspect.
19:35Way to go there, Nicole.
19:36You're doing some bang-up police work.
19:40Hello?
19:41Nicole.
19:42Yes.
19:42I'm working with some of your fellow students and they reported back to me today that you told them what was going on and also said that I was one of the most inept detectives that you had ever heard of.
19:55Now, that I don't mind.
19:57But you also told Mr. Korn that he was my leading suspect and that puts this investigation in dire jeopardy because you told your entire class about it last night.
20:08Tell my entire class.
20:09My entire class was not there.
20:14What you told me.
20:15I don't know who you're getting your information from, but it's not true.
20:18Okay.
20:19Well, obviously our lines of communication are not very good here.
20:21We'll have to work on that.
20:23But now I need you to help me so I can try to get some more information about this.
20:27I'm going to have my surveillance team wire your telephone and then I'm going to have you call Mr. Korn.
20:34And I want you to tell him that Detective Abrams has been asking you a lot of questions about your car and you don't know what to tell me.
20:45Do you understand me?
20:47Yes.
20:47Okay.
20:48Thank you, Nicole.
20:49Okay.
20:50Goodbye.
20:50Bye.
20:52Chip came by earlier and showed us exactly what he wanted to do with this lower balance.
20:57So Scratch, Shane, and Jeff work on making that front end fit and pretty.
21:02Of course, Shane bangs in with his usual mode of persuasion and soon he's ready to weld.
21:07Front end's looking good.
21:08I just started grinding it all down.
21:11We got the pieces in.
21:12We got the bumper brackets on.
21:14We're going to shorten the bumpers and hug them to the front end.
21:21After a lot of hard work, we're finally ready to spray some primer on the shell of the Camaro.
21:26Lewis is ready to start spraying.
21:28I'm going to let him go at it.
21:29He's going to go at it all right with layers of primer thanks to hours of prep that finally got us here.
21:36And once there's a uniform shade all across the shell.
21:39Finally, Nicole, it's starting to look like a real car.
21:45Hi, are you Nicole?
21:46Yes.
21:46Hi, Nicole.
21:47I'm Andrew.
21:47How are you?
21:48Hi.
21:48Nice to meet you.
21:49Overhauling's Andrew hooks up Nicole's phone and she makes the call to our ready and waiting insider, Dennis Korn.
21:56Hello.
21:57Hey, Korn.
21:58Hey, what's up?
21:59Nothing.
22:00What's up?
22:01Nothing much.
22:02What's going on with you?
22:03Um, I just, uh, the detective called me again and asked me all these questions about my car.
22:08Like if you've been asking me anything about it or like stuff like that.
22:14I'll tell you, I'll tell you, this is killing me, Nicole.
22:16You trust me?
22:17Yeah, I trust you.
22:18Okay, because, uh, I mean, I got to fess up to you.
22:22I'm really hurting for some money and, um, I got this deal where we got the, I got the race car and your car.
22:28I'm trying to get some cars cleaned out.
22:29The school's going to cover it with insurance and so I can get some money real quick.
22:33But I need you to, I mean, this is my job.
22:35You got to kind of help me out here.
22:37Yeah.
22:39You with me?
22:41Yeah.
22:42You got to hang.
22:42I mean, your car was pretty trashy.
22:44So, you know, I figured, you know, the motor was good.
22:46We could get you enough money to, uh, to get a better car.
22:49And, uh, if you'll hang with me, I'll, I'll, I'll get you covered.
22:54Okay.
22:55All right?
22:56Yeah.
22:57Okay, well, you got to cover me with a, with a detective, too.
22:59You got to, you got to make sure you cover me with that.
23:01All right?
23:02I'll be giving you, uh, uh, some, some major money here.
23:04You just got to hang with me, okay?
23:06I appreciate it.
23:08Yeah, no problem.
23:08Okay, thanks.
23:09All right.
23:10Bye.
23:10Bye.
23:15Wait a second.
23:17Did she just go right away?
23:18Oh, yeah, that's right.
23:19No questions asked.
23:21No questions asked.
23:22She's going to go for it.
23:24Nicole, you are brilliant the way you're playing both sides.
23:28Detective Abrams.
23:29Abrams, how'd that come through?
23:30That was perfect.
23:31We had levels great on this side.
23:33Let, let me talk to Nicole again.
23:35You got to hold on just a moment.
23:38Hello?
23:38Nicole.
23:39Yeah.
23:40That was perfect.
23:42I got everything that I needed.
23:44So, hang tight.
23:45Great job.
23:46Thank you so much for helping us out.
23:48And hopefully, we can get your car back to you.
23:50All right.
23:51Goodbye.
23:52Bye.
23:53She sold your ass up the river.
23:56Yeah, she did.
23:58Nicole heads off, shocked at her teacher's confession.
24:01Little does she know that the biggest shock is yet to come.
24:05Work continues late into day five, with the team from Stitchcraft still slaving away over that dash.
24:10And once that dash is finished, it'll be lined with killer gear from Sav and Alpha Sonic.
24:15But first, the dash does have to get done.
24:18Today's day five.
24:20Day five?
24:2148 hours to go, baby.
24:23And what's Chip got waiting up his sleeve?
24:25I heard that she likes stars, so I had the idea of actually, uh, we could play around with
24:29a, you know, kind of a pearl or a dark charcoal on top of the black of stars, so it'd be subtle.
24:35And on the mock-up car?
24:37What I'm doing is I'm laying out a few stars, so I get a basic idea of what kind of shapes
24:41and sizes I want.
24:42So now it's onto cardboard, so Bruce can trace out the final shapes to use in the paint booth.
24:47Come on, hey, come on, hey, come on, hey.
24:49And back over at Fix Auto?
24:517 a.m., day six.
24:55All the jams have been painted.
24:57We've got all the sheet metal panels back on the car and aligned.
24:59They'll roll back in the booth.
25:01We'll get the silver on the body, put the graphics, clear it, get it back to Stitchcraft, and we can
25:05start assembling.
25:08Coming up, it's hi-ho silver and seeing stars.
25:21Look who I found!
25:30Ladies and gentlemen, Chip Foose, and be careful, he's got a gun in his hand.
25:34Chip's here, he's going to lay down the silver, do the fade, whatnot.
25:37No, no, no.
25:38No, no, no?
25:39Lewis is going to lay down the silver.
25:40And then you're going to lay down the fade.
25:40I'll do the plan, and then we're going to do the graphics.
25:42Got it.
25:43Did you get all that?
25:43There will be a quiz later.
25:44With the way the schedule's been going, some of us weren't sure if this day was ever going
25:56to come.
25:58Just look at all of that shiny silver.
26:07And Chip mixes the dark silver for the fade.
26:14So now that the car is silver, Foose hits the bottom to create that fade.
26:21Nicole, all I heard was silver with the black rally stripes.
26:26We're going to give you a little more, and I hope you like it.
26:32Pardon?
26:36The lines are on, and we start putting color down.
26:39Lewis goes in again, putting black down for the stripes on the hood and the deck lid.
26:44And then our graphic master, Chip, goes reaching for the stars.
26:49Ooh, that's cool.
26:51And he does it with nothing more than cardboard and airbrush and pearl and charcoal paint.
26:55Pretty soon, it's a whole galaxy of stars on the car.
26:58A constellation of specialized racing stripes that are bringing this Camaro just one step
27:03closer to heaven.
27:12Hey, Nicole, there's your stars.
27:13We're going to unmask this, make sure everything's clean, and Lewis can get it cleared, and we'll
27:17get it back to Rebo's tonight.
27:21The bet is that we weren't going to get the interior done with this elaborate dash in place.
27:32Chances are slim right now.
27:33They're looking more in the favor of the people who put the bed up, so we're going to have to
27:37try to still prove them wrong.
27:39You do that, Andreas.
27:41Meanwhile, Rick from Seat Comfort Systems is going to tell us all about the heated massage
27:45seats.
27:46These are the vibration motors we place inside the seat.
27:48There's a little motor in there with a weight that's going to vibrate and provide a nice
27:51massage system for the car seat.
27:53Rick cuts out the recesses that the massagers will fit into.
27:56And then he glues in a heater.
28:01How's that for a cool, warm seat?
28:04As night six becomes early morning seven, the car is ready to head back to Stitchcraft,
28:09and Craig Chaffers is both tired and thrilled.
28:13Hey, the car's here.
28:15Let's go check it out.
28:15Kami Edelbrock came through yet again, bringing in the power where we need it the most.
28:38And now that Edelbrock engine is going to be married to that tranny from Chino Hills Transmission,
28:42and it looks like they're going to be one happy power couple.
28:45So now it's time to take that powertrain and get it over into Nicole's rapidly evolving
28:49Camaro.
28:51Nicole, I wish you were here to help us.
28:52You'd probably enjoy it.
28:59Nicole's dad, Triss, comes by to see the state of things.
29:02Great, how you doing, Chip?
29:03Good.
29:04Great to see you.
29:05Well, now comes basically boot camp, getting this thing back together.
29:09She's got stars all over her bedroom.
29:10The little neon ones.
29:13Yeah, they're on the deck lid also.
29:15She loves this car.
29:16We tried to get her to get rid of it a couple times, and she just, she wouldn't do it.
29:20It needed so much work, as you well know.
29:22The other night when she came home and was talking about it, I said, well, it's just a rust bucket.
29:26She said, no, it doesn't have that much rust.
29:29She'll see it when she sees the show.
29:30Right.
29:31Sure is a nice looking ride now.
29:34Think she'll like that color?
29:35She'll love it.
29:36Good.
29:36Coming up, more interior, less time.
29:51After day six, we're getting close to the end of the week, but not so close to the end of the build.
29:56And now on day seven, Nicole is still in complete darkness.
30:00And her Camaro, well, that's just incomplete.
30:02Let's go join the action and get this thing built.
30:05Ricky wires up all those salve and alphasonic components.
30:16He hooks them together to create one killer sound system.
30:22And now it just needs a test run.
30:25There you go.
30:26There you go.
30:27Turn it up.
30:27Get some volume.
30:28Get some volume.
30:35Okay, Ricky, it sounds great.
30:45Let's shut that thing off so everybody can get back to work.
30:51As the hours of day seven tick away, the team tries to get it all finished.
30:55And Chip's killer front end is assembled.
30:58I'm here with Jeff from Beach City's Painless Dents Repair.
31:01And we managed to get a few dents along the top of the fender.
31:04They're just people leaning on it, so he's going to take those out for us.
31:07Amazing.
31:08Some gentle bending and tapping massages those dents right off the finished car.
31:16It's nice and straight again.
31:18Can't see any of those elbow dents.
31:20Everything's good.
31:22Everything's real good.
31:23And from Mother's Polish, Jim Holloway himself is here to sand, buff, and shine with Jeff Jefferson
31:28from Classy Cars.
31:34Late into the night, the finishing touches go on the engine.
31:42Work like mounting the headers, wiring, and finally adding some oil before the team test
31:47fires it.
31:48Well, it's 2 o'clock in the morning, delivery day.
31:50We're getting ready to fire the engine, so we'll see if it turns out.
31:54And another powerful force is Adam from Magnaflow.
32:21It is 4.30 in the morning, and it's D-Day.
32:29Ooh, really neat.
32:32As always, Adam and Magnaflow come through in those dark, short hours when there's no
32:36time left, but somehow it gets done anyway.
32:39Cool.
32:40All right, well, it's D-Day, and on a productive note, the bumpers are on.
32:51A lot of the finishing touches are happening, the engine was fired, the speaker box is in
32:55the trunk, most of the stereo has been installed, and a lot of the wiring has already happened.
32:59On a not quite so productive note, we still have to install all the glass, the engine's
33:04still being a little bit tweaked, the wheels and tires have not yet arrived, and we're looking
33:08at a vacant interior.
33:11But soon, the new Foose wheels from MHT do arrive, and they were worth the wait.
33:15It's a one-off set, and they go straight on to Nicole's Camaro.
33:26Hey, Nicole, I know you like stars, so there's a subtle star pattern in here.
33:30I hope you like it.
33:33In preparation for the reveal, our Mark's dad and her sister, Sarah, arrived to check out
33:37the car.
33:38It looks like brand new.
33:39Oh, my God.
33:40Oh, look at the stars.
33:42It's awesome.
33:44Are you envious that she's getting this car?
33:46Yeah, but I'm very happy for her.
33:49Do you think that she has any idea that Overholland has her car?
33:52No, no idea.
33:53I'm stunned.
33:55Completely stunned.
33:56I'm just amazed at all the work these guys have done and the way it's coming along.
34:01I love you, Nicole.
34:02I hope that you like the car.
34:03And we hope that Team Stitchcraft can finish both their fabricating and their installation
34:08of the interior.
34:09Revo, a status report.
34:11Stat.
34:11We're finishing up the front bucket seats.
34:14We're finishing up the back seat.
34:16We have not laid carpet yet.
34:17There's not a headliner done yet.
34:19Door panels are not done yet.
34:21Dash is not done yet.
34:22So, yeah, nothing's done.
34:23We can do it.
34:25On D-Day here with Nicole's Camaro, our gear-headed Mark is just minutes away from the return of her
34:30ride.
34:30If we can keep her pulled and if we can get it done.
34:34Coming up, Nicole and Stitchcraft race to the finish line.
34:48On Day 7 and deep into our Overholl and D-Day, Nicole's Camaro is still coming together.
34:53Still.
34:54As we head out to the prank and get this reveal underway.
34:56Okay, I'm here with Dennis on Insider.
35:00It is D-Day.
35:01We are about to call Nicole just to get her on the way down to Huntington Beach.
35:04We're not quite ready to tell her where to come yet because the car is not quite finished.
35:08Hey, Nicole.
35:09Hi.
35:10Hey, it's Korn.
35:11What's up?
35:11I'm making my way down here, but traffic's really bad.
35:13About to make the deal, and as soon as I get down there and settle down, I can give you
35:18a call and let you know exactly where.
35:19But if you get started down here, we'll be able to get you down here sooner.
35:22Okay.
35:23Okay?
35:23So get started, and I'll give you a call in a little bit.
35:25All right.
35:26Okay, here's Nicole calling me.
35:30Detective Abrams.
35:31Korn just called me.
35:33Okay, what did he say?
35:34He's already on his way down there, and he'll call me in a little bit and tell me exactly
35:39where it is.
35:40So my mom and I are going to leave now.
35:41Okay, perfect.
35:42Hook, line, and sinker.
35:44Oh, we got a big fish on the line.
35:48As we enter into the final prank, inside Stitchcraft, the heat is on.
35:53Our plan is in motion, and they are still working on the dash in the console.
35:57Luckily, the seats are finished and getting installed.
36:00The center console just makes it, and the tricked-out door panel's coming in.
36:05Nicole, it's about that time.
36:09Nicole, it's Korn.
36:10How you doing?
36:11Hey, the deal gone down.
36:13I got the money.
36:13Korn calls to give Nicole the location of the pawn shop.
36:17Hey, let's bring me on side of the canvas.
36:20All right, I'll be hangin'.
36:37Who's this?
36:39My mom.
36:39You brought your mom?
36:41Yeah.
36:42Wow.
36:42Who's this?
36:43I'm just along for the ride.
36:46Just along for the ride.
36:47I don't know what I'm at this.
36:49Keep your, keep your problem.
36:51Why don't I just, like, browse?
36:52Why don't you do that?
36:53Let me deal with her.
36:54Okay.
37:00Don't show your mom?
37:01I'm not showing my mom.
37:03Do your half?
37:05Face department.
37:05Whoa, whoa, whoa.
37:07Hey, man.
37:08Put your hands up.
37:09Put your hands up.
37:09You're giving us a walk.
37:10You're giving us a walk.
37:11For doing the right thing and working with the police, this is the treatment she got?
37:18Stay inside.
37:21What are you doing down here?
37:22Mr. Corn.
37:23Mr. Corn told you to meet him here?
37:24Why did he give you this money?
37:25Because he took my car and sold it.
37:30$167.52?
37:32Yes, that's what I said.
37:33No one else told you to come down here?
37:36A detective told me to come down here.
37:37A detective told you to come down here.
37:38What's the detective's name?
37:41Steve.
37:41Steve what?
37:42I don't know.
37:43Is it Detective Abrams?
37:44Yes.
37:45What?
37:45You set me up?
37:47What is that?
37:48You don't trust me?
37:51I can't believe this.
37:52You set me up?
37:53Is that what you did?
37:54Actually, you know what, Nicole?
37:55Turn it up.
37:56Actually, we set you up.
37:57We had a television show called Overhauling.
38:01Oh my God.
38:02You got to say it in the voice.
38:03You got to say it in the voice.
38:04You're in the voice?
38:05No, we're overhauling this.
38:07We just spanked you.
38:08Good.
38:09I don't know what it is.
38:10Oh my God, this is crazy.
38:11Got some cameras here.
38:12Hope you don't mind.
38:13This proves, once again, that I am not the most inept detective in California.
38:25I, once again, have solved the case.
38:27I found your car.
38:28So with the case now closed, it's time for Nicole to see her ride.
38:33Oh my God.
38:34It looks so good.
38:39And the coolest thing about doing this for her, she's a gearhead who knows what it
38:52took to make this happen.
38:53Oh my God.
38:55That's how I wanted to do it, you know?
39:00Given where we started, it was one of the great overhauling challenges.
39:05A rusty old Chevy that was more rot than hot.
39:08Seven days to a silver stunner.
39:11That's the way it went down as the team kept working and the pranks kept flying.
39:15And now, it's the Camaro she wanted to make back when she first wanted to get her hands
39:19dirty in Carville.
39:21Oh my God.
39:22That is so awesome.
39:23And the blue.
39:24Congratulations, Nicole.
39:26Thank you so much.
39:27Hope you enjoy it.
39:28Oh, I think I will.
39:29It's beautiful.
39:30It looks a lot better than it did, actually.
39:31You know, falling apart.
39:32There was a lot of rust in this car.
39:33Yeah, I had a feeling.
39:34Hey, how are you?
39:35Congratulations.
39:37Hey, how are you?
39:38Congratulations.
39:40I brought a little horsepower to the party.
39:41Oh, thank you.
39:42I thought I needed it.
39:43You've got an Edelbrot crate engine under there.
39:44Yeah.
39:45Are you ready?
39:46Oh my God.
39:47That's so good.
39:48I haven't looked it before.
39:49Isn't that great?
39:50Isn't that great?
39:51It's 8 on my compressions.
39:52Oh, my God.
39:53Sound good, huh?
39:54That's so much better than it did before.
39:55Yeah.
39:56There's a little rut crate engine under there.
39:58Yeah.
39:59Are you ready?
40:00Oh, my God.
40:01It looks so good.
40:02Doesn't it before?
40:03Isn't that great?
40:04It's 8-1 compression.
40:10Oh, my God.
40:12Sound good, huh?
40:13So much better than before.
40:14Yeah.
40:19So now, it's new under the hood, new on the inside,
40:22and new just about everywhere else you can look on this Camaro.
40:26And since that's the case, it's time to meet some new friends
40:31who are responsible for her new set of wheels.
40:34Thank you so much.
40:36You're very welcome.
40:37That looks great.
40:38Do you like it?
40:39Yeah, I love it.
40:40I can't wait to drive it.
40:41Do you believe it?
40:42It's kind of coming in, you know, just a little bit.
40:45Oh, I will.
40:47A lot of hammering and cutting and welding and hammering and cutting and welding.
40:53That sounds fun.
40:56And don't forget the guys from Stitchcraft, a team that took the impossible
41:00and made it into a reality.
41:02All right, you probably see something kind of familiar, right?
41:04I mean, this is a pretty cool track somewhere.
41:07I sound a lot better than you.
41:08What do you think?
41:09I love it.
41:10It's great.
41:11Oh, my God.
41:12How does that seat feel there?
41:13It's kind of vibrant.
41:14I was like, wait a minute, what is that?
41:15It scared me the first time.
41:16It's a little special surprise for you.
41:17Wow.
41:18In LA traffic, you can just sit back and have a nice party.
41:19Enjoy.
41:20Oh, wow.
41:21So now the ride has big sound, a big look, big gloss.
41:22And don't leave out a lot of big power.
41:26And it took a big team of guys to make it happen.
41:27An army of fellow car fiends that Nicole is dying to meet.
41:28And it took a big team of guys to make it happen, an army of fellow car fiends that
41:55Nicole is dying to meet.
41:57So without further ado, here come more of those tenacious and tireless team members.
42:02And that leads us to a special insider.
42:04And now he's really Nicole's favorite teacher.
