00:00Plenty more sunny and settled weather to come through much of this week. Good news for most of

00:05us, not so good news for the farmers who could do with a bit of rain. Not much of that in the

00:09forecast for the time being with high pressure firmly in control and it's this high pressure

00:14that's going to lead to a calm and clear night for many of us overnight. Not a lot of cloud around,

00:19that being said there will be some cloud in a few places, particularly the far north of Scotland,

00:23Orkney, Shetland, maybe the far north of mainland Scotland as well, a bit more cloud developing

00:28overnight. Also a bit of cloud feeding into some parts of eastern England around the Humber,

00:33could be some low clouds, some mist, some fog patches developing and even elsewhere with the

00:38clear calm weather I'm expecting a few patches of mist and fog to develop as well. Those clear

00:43skies and generally light winds also allowing for temperatures to take a bit of a dip. Most

00:48towns and cities just about holding up above freezing but in rural spots we could see a bit

00:54of a frost. In fact across some parts of Scotland, the sheltered glens, we're likely to see temperatures

00:58dropping as low as they did last night really. So minus five, minus six perhaps in some places. So a

01:04chilly start to the day tomorrow and there could be some mist and fog around like I said but this

01:09should relatively quickly clear for most of us, perhaps lingering for a bit longer across some

01:13parts of eastern Scotland, some sea fog perhaps and also around some parts of eastern England.

01:18And worth bearing in mind, similar to this morning really, we could have this slice of cloud

01:22around southern parts of London for a time but that should clear and then well there's going to

01:27be plenty of fine weather on offer. Perhaps not quite as sunny as today, there's likely to be a

01:33bit more high level cloud around so the sunshine will be a bit hazy at times and a bit more

01:37cumulus strata, cumulus clouds going to bubble up as we go through the day. So not necessarily

01:42the wall-to-wall blue skies that we've seen through today but nonetheless plenty of fine

01:47sunny weather on offer. And with that temperatures are going to be similar, perhaps even a touch

01:52higher for some places. Western Scotland for example likely to be a degree or so higher than

01:56today, the highs in the mid to high teens quite widely. As we go through the evening and overnight

02:01tomorrow, staying fine for most places but a bit more cloud pushing its way in from the north

02:07and the northeast and there will still be a few pockets of mist and fog further west but yes it's

02:12the cloudier skies developing across eastern parts that are going to be quite a change to the story

02:18for some. With that being in mind, temperatures generally not falling quite as low as they will

02:23through this coming night so most places holding up a few degrees above freezing, especially in

02:28your more built-up areas. But yes because of that cloud that's coming in overnight, eastern parts

02:33starting the day on Wednesday a bit grayer, a bit more cloud around. Some of this will burn back as

02:39we go through the day but eastern coastal areas could actually stay pretty gray through much of

02:44the day. Across central western parts though a different story, lots of fine sunny weather on

02:49offer and again it's in the west that we're going to have the highest temperatures, mid to high teens

02:54once more, further east under that cloud temperatures are going to be a little bit suppressed. But as we

03:00go later on in the week and with the high pressure shifting a little bit, we're going to change our

03:06wind direction so instead our winds are going to be coming in from the west. That means eastern parts

03:10will have probably the highest temperatures as we go through Thursday and into Friday but we do

03:15need to bear in mind that we're likely to see a front pushing its way southwards by the end of

03:19the week, bringing some rain particularly to parts of Scotland. Further south staying dry for the time

03:24being but a bit of rain is quite likely as we head into next week. That's awfully far away though so

03:29let's not worry about that for the time being. If you want more information about this week's
