00:01Hi there. The weather's looking pretty reasonable for any bonfires displays this Thursday evening.
00:07Not entirely clear or indeed dry because the high pressure that has dominated through the week,
00:13well that's losing its influence. And to the south, not only have we got a surface area of low pressure
00:19starting to edge closer to the south and southwest, but there's an upper low just about visible
00:25through this streak of the jet stream circulating close to the southwest. And with those two influences
00:31we're going to see more instability developing in the atmosphere over the next 24 hours. This is running
00:36through Thursday night into Friday and that instability will be most noticeable to the south
00:43and southwest where there is an increased chance of showers developing essentially on Thursday night
00:48into Friday, especially the south coast of Cornwall and the south of Devon. You can see those starting
00:55to get their act together on Thursday evening. They'll turn heavier and more frequent through
01:00the night, especially into the coast of South Devon on an easterly breeze. But despite that very
01:08localised area of heavier rain at times overnight, most of the showers will be light and affecting
01:13eastern coasts and hills. A lot of dry weather elsewhere, but also a lot of cloud. Yeah, there'll
01:20be some breaks in the cloud here and there. We've seen some breaks through the day across the southeast
01:24and more guaranteed breaks into the west of Scotland overnight. And where we see those long spells
01:30of clear sky, we'll see some fog and frost as we start the day on Friday. Temperatures dipping below
01:36freezing in Shelter Glens, for example. But elsewhere where we keep the low cloud, temperatures not going
01:42much below the mid-single figures by dawn. Feeling chilly, mind you, because of the easterly breeze,
01:49because of the grey leaden skies widely across the country. And where we do have some freezing fog patches,
01:54first thing. For example, western Scotland, perhaps parts of Northern Ireland, they'll be slow to clear
01:58during the first few hours of Friday. Eventually they will and we'll see some sunshine. And actually,
02:03there will be some brightness coming through from time to time in the south as the afternoon
02:08progresses. Although those showers will equally continue into parts of South Devon throughout much
02:14of the day. Some heavier downpours, like I say, the odd rumble of thunder close to the coast.
02:19Any rain elsewhere, tending to be light on and off and an unreliable signal for where those
02:26light showers will develop. It's where the thicker low cloud ends up. And this is all a very messy
02:32situation with high pressure nearby, but not close enough to keep things entirely settled.
02:37Easterly breeze, a lot of cloud floating here and there with unreliable breaks developing.
02:4310 to 12 Celsius, similar compared with recent days. Not far from average, but of course under
02:48the grey skies with the Easterly breeze feeling rather chilly. You can see some more extensive
02:55light rain developing across some central and northern parts of England into southern Scotland
02:58Friday night. Again, I wouldn't take this too literally. It is a messy situation with things only
03:04kind of slowly evolving over the next few days. Where we get clear skies? Most notably,
03:10Wales in the south overnight Friday into Saturday, there will be some frost and fog patches forming,
03:16a colder night to come. And again, with fireworks displays occurring and bonfires that could assist
03:23in the formation of some dense fog patches, especially towards the south and southwest of
03:27the start of the weekend. So again, a mixed start to things on Saturday, some low cloud around,
03:32some dense pockets of mist and fog, as well as some frost.
03:37But any fog eventually clearing through the morning, some sunshine replacing it.
03:43And again, you can see by the afternoon, a very mixed picture, quite a messy one for Saturday afternoon.
03:50Nothing particularly unsettled, but not entirely dry and sunny either. A lot of low cloud and some
03:56light drizzly showers here and there, especially towards the east. 10 to 11 Celsius feeling on the
04:03chilly side once again. Now, going into Sunday, it's more of the same effectively. High pressure
04:09always remains close by, but not directly over the UK. So that's going to keep things
04:15relatively settled, even if it will bring us a lot of cloud and some light showers at times. More on
