00:00 Good morning and welcome to our national morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 There is a sign of settled weather to come, especially into the weekend.
00:08 That's all to do with an area of high pressure out towards the west.
00:11 We've got a few frontal system just coming into parts of the southeast, bringing a focus
00:16 for some rain, but otherwise higher pressure.
00:18 They're coming in charge on Saturday to bring largely settled conditions.
00:23 But back to this morning, quite a messy picture out there with outbreaks of showers or rain.
00:27 We've got a band across parts of northern Wales, into the Midlands and southeast England,
00:32 gradually sinking its way southwards, breaking up to leave sunny spells, but also some heavy
00:37 showers.
00:38 The focus of the showers today, the heaviest area, is going to be across parts of central
00:42 England and the southeast, where some of these could be heavy with the chance of some thunder.
00:47 Elsewhere, sunny spells, scattered showers across parts of Northern Ireland and across
00:52 Scotland, but generally less intense than what we saw on Wednesday.
00:56 Some brighter spells further towards the south and drier here.
01:00 But we have got a brisk northerly wind, so actually temperatures are going to be a bit
01:04 suppressed, especially when exposed to that wind across Northern Ireland and down that
01:08 north eastern coast.
01:10 But in the sunshine, perhaps highs of 18 or 19 degrees.
01:16 As we go through Thursday evening, showers are going to be continuing, but pushing their
01:20 way southwards across southern parts.
01:23 Showers still holding on across parts of the southeast of England and into Yorkshire
01:27 with some patchy rain here.
01:29 Further towards the west, we'll start to see the influence of the higher pressure.
01:33 So clear spells for many.
01:34 We've got a slither of clear spells across parts of central the UK.
01:39 And here we'll see temperatures falling into the single figures.
01:42 But the towns and cities are generally holding up with a bit more of a breeze at around 10
01:47 or 11 degrees.
01:49 So a bit of a contrast on Friday morning.
01:51 Plenty of dry weather further west you go with plenty of sunshine.
01:55 A few showers may just come into the south and the southwest of Wales, but further towards
02:00 the east, that's where we hold on to quite a lot of cloud and some patchy outbreaks of
02:05 rain and drizzle as well.
02:06 And also a bit of a breeze here.
02:08 So it's going to be quite a cool feeling day there with temperatures struggling at around
02:12 16 or 17 degrees.
02:15 But in the sunshine further towards the west and possibly even the north western parts
02:19 of Scotland, we could see highs of up to 18 or 19 degrees.
02:24 And then as we go through the rest of the week, like I said, higher pressure is starting
02:28 to take charge.
02:29 But make sure to hit subscribe on YouTube so you don't miss any details on that.
02:33 And I'll catch you soon.
02:34 Bye bye.
