00:00After another exceptionally hot day, there's a risk of thunderstorms through this evening across parts of Wales, central and southwestern
00:07England with a warning in force.
00:09Not many of us will actually see any rain from these thunderstorms, but there is a risk that where they
00:14do occur, there could be frequent lightning, thunder, as well as some quite large hail.
00:19Now that rain will push further north into parts of northern England overnight, so it should turn drier across parts
00:24of the southwest.
00:26And for most of us, it is going to be a pretty dry night tonight.
00:28Some clouds still lingering across the east coast of Scotland, but for most eastern areas, that cloud from today should
00:35lift up as our wind direction shifts to more of a southerly direction.
00:38And that southerly wind is going to drag in some low cloud across parts of the southwest, so a bit
00:43of a murky start across parts of Cornwall, southwest Wales into tomorrow morning.
00:48Still another pretty warm start to the day, particularly across central and southern areas, but also quite warm actually for
00:54northern Ireland, western areas of Scotland.
00:56A bit of an uncomfortable night to come, particularly compared to the nights you've had so far this week.
01:02You've escaped the worst of the heat, but there is another warm day to come for the west of Scotland
01:07into Thursday.
01:09And the heat returns across eastern areas as well, with that southerly wind, meaning there'll be very little in the
01:14way of cloud across parts of eastern and northern areas of the UK.
01:18Meanwhile, in the west, some hazy sunshine through much of the day, a risk of some thundery downpours.
01:24Perhaps again, we might just see some thunderstorms higher up in the sky with not too much rain reaching the
01:31ground, but there is that risk there nonetheless.
01:33So southerly winds bring in more in the way of cloud through Thursday, so it will be a cooler day
01:38across the west and the south, temperatures still though in the high 20s for some areas, and across the east
01:45we'll be seeing temperatures in the low 30s, 33 degrees possible across parts of the London area, but temperatures will
01:51be climbing towards the mid-20s across parts of western Scotland, so an exceptionally hot day here.
01:57The heat is beginning to wane though through Friday onwards as we start to see more westerly winds moving in.
02:05That does mean there'll be an increased risk of rain for some of us as we head into Friday, particularly
02:11across parts of northern Ireland, western areas of Scotland.
02:14We'll also see some rain out to the south and east later on on Friday too.
02:19So a windy and quite a damp actually night across parts of the northwest, quite a lot of cloud further
02:25south too.
02:26And with lots of cloud around, it's still going to be a pretty mild night temperatures in the teens for
02:31many areas, so not particularly fresh actually by Friday morning.
02:36Now the winds continue to be quite brisk across the far north through Friday, particularly across coastal areas and the
02:42high ground, some quite gusty winds.
02:44The winds will be a little bit lighter as we push further south, but here's that risk of rain pushing
02:48into the southeast, bringing risk of some thundery downpours as well.
02:52That's one to watch through the next few days.
02:55But for most of us across western areas of the UK, central areas, northern Ireland, it should be a pretty
03:01dry afternoon.
03:02Another warm one, particularly across the southeast temperatures, again in the high 20s.
03:07It's not quite as hot on Friday compared to Thursdays.
03:10Temperatures starting to come down.
03:12We'll be in the high 20s.
03:13It's still exceptionally hot for the time of year, to be honest with you.
03:16And across the north, with temperatures closer to the high teens, low 20s.
03:21And that theme of the slightly cooler air moving in continues into the weekend, but that does bring an increased
03:28risk of some rain as well as some windier spells of weather.
03:32You can see a weather front pushing in for Saturday.
03:35We don't quite get into that fresher air until Sunday.
03:38So across the south and east, it's still going to remain pretty hot with a continued risk of some thunderstorms.
