26 May - National Morning Forecast presented by Craig Snell
Transcript
00:00A very good morning to you. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met
00:03Office. It's going to be another exceptionally hot day for parts of the
00:07UK today. Temperatures once again approaching the mid-30s. So out there
00:12first thing this morning we do have a weak weather front across parts of
00:15Scotland and Northern Ireland. Mainly a focus of cloud here but the odd sprinkle
00:19of rain here and there. But for England and Wales another largely sunny
00:24day to come. A little bit of cloud building up later on in the afternoon
00:27but I think for most of us plenty of strong sunshine out there and in
00:31sunshine temperatures are going to respond once again. Could see
00:34temperatures easily quite widely into the low 30s and in a few spots we could
00:39again be approaching 34 or 35 degrees which is very exceptional for this time
00:45of the year. Something a little bit fresher for Scotland and Northern Ireland here.
00:49Maybe a little bit more comfortable temperatures generally reaching the
00:52high teens to low 20s. Into this evening we could just see the odd shower develop
00:59across the south. Maybe the odd thunderstorm as well but for most of us
01:03it's a dry and warm evening to come across England and Wales. For Scotland we
01:08start to see some thicker cloud moving from the North Sea and that will spread
01:11its way southwards into parts of Northern England. Maybe as far south as
01:15Lincolnshire by the end of the night. Giving a rather gloomy end to the night
01:19here but elsewhere plenty of clear skies as we start Wednesday morning. But we do
01:25start Wednesday morning on a warm note once again across the south. Temperatures
01:28already into the mid teens but further north I think a little bit fresher here.
01:32Maybe a few spots actually falling into single figures as we start Wednesday
01:37morning. Then Wednesday itself we do start to pick up more of a breeze off the
01:41North Sea so certainly feeling noticeably fresher for eastern coast and
01:44especially if you're stuck under this cloud across eastern Scotland and
01:48north eastern England. But that will burn its way back towards the coast as the day
01:51goes on. Elsewhere again plenty of sunshine around maybe the odd stray
01:55thunderstorm here and there but for most of us another largely sunny and dry day to
02:01come. Temperatures highest over towards the west this time again could
02:05potentially reach the low 30s in a few spots but notably fresher out towards the
02:10east. Actually some parts of the east could potentially be around 10 to 15
02:15degrees cooler on Wednesday compared to Tuesday so that probably will offer some
02:19relief to the heat what we have been experiencing after the last couple of
02:23days. But also note at the same time something a little bit warmer just coming
02:26in across parts of Northern Ireland and also Western Scotland. The brief
02:31fresher spell doesn't last too long in the east temperatures actually rising
02:34again as we head into Thursday. Again potentially low 30s in a few spots but
02:40then as we head towards the weekend temperatures will gradually trend a little bit
02:44lower but still on the warm side for the time of year. You can find out all the
02:48weather details where you live in the UK on our website or on our app but for me
02:52for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
