00:00It has been an exceptional week of heat but all is set to change this weekend as westerly winds
00:06return bringing much cooler weather by the end of the weekend. Now there will be plenty of dry
00:12weather around particularly on Saturday and some warm weather in the south and east but through
00:17Saturday morning a weather front pushes in from the north and west bringing a spell of wet weather
00:22to more northwestern areas through the morning. It's going to be another mild night on Friday
00:28night temperatures still in the high teens actually across some southeastern areas but a little bit
00:33fresher further west as we're starting to see some cooler air arrive for the weekend so it should
00:39start to be a little bit more comfortable overnight this weekend. So spells of wet weather will push
00:43across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland predominantly but it's not going to move that
00:47far east through the day so much of England and Wales will remain dry through the day some hazy
00:53sunshine and it still will feel quite warm not as hot as it has been this week but temperatures
00:58still in the high 20s across the southeast in the London area and the mid-20s across many central
01:04areas. The further north and west you go well the lower the temperatures are temperatures closer
01:08to those mid-teens which is around average for the time of year much cooler than it has been lately.
01:14Now that weather front pushes eastwards overnight on Saturday night so spell of wet weather for most of
01:19us not particularly heavy as it pushes into the east but cloudier and damper nonetheless. So a bit
01:25of a cloudier start to the day another fairly mild night but definitely fresher than it has been you
01:31can see temperatures closer to 11 or 12 degrees which is what you'd expect for this time of year
01:37overnight. Sunday brings the prospect of more rain showery outbreaks of rain predominantly across more
01:43northern areas but I think anywhere across the southwest are likely to see a few showers. There's a risk of
01:49thunderstorms in these showers across the far north as well. Some of these showers will push into more
01:54eastern areas but I think much of eastern England parts of eastern Scotland even even will see very
02:00little in the way of rain but more in the way of clouds so less sunshine to come on Saturday
02:05a brisker
02:06westerly breeze and after that weather front pushes through we will be into fresher air so temperatures
02:11will be much closer to 20 degrees just above 20 degrees in the south and east and just below
02:18looking a little bit further west. So certainly a lot fresher than it has been. That's a good 10 degrees
02:23less than temperatures we've seen earlier on this week. So significant change. Some people may be looking
02:30forward to that change as I know the heat has lasted quite a long time. We've had six days above
02:3630 degrees
02:37this week. Until next week we get the jet stream returning. Returning to the Atlantic mobile weather
02:44setup which means a more changeable picture into next week. Some dry weather but also some quite wet
02:49spells pushing in from the west. So make sure you stay tuned to the forecast and why don't you subscribe
