00:03 hatches because when it hits you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you
00:06 could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us here's a look at the
00:10 brand-new McFarland toys DC multiverse the Dark Knight Rises platinum edition
00:14 Catwoman
00:16 it has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night turning in that
00:40 instant from hero to fugitive assuming the blame for the death of DA Harvey
00:44 Dent the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner
00:47 Gordon had hoped was a greater good for the time the lie worked as criminal
00:51 activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime dent
00:54 act but everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a
00:58 mysterious agenda far more dangerous however is the emergence of Bane a mass
01:02 terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of self-imposed
01:06 exile but even if he dons the cape and cowl again Batman may be no match for
01:11 Bane you boys know you can't come into my neighborhood without asking politely
01:15 right oh you did oh never mind just before of course we get the calypso look
01:19 at the brand-new Dark Knight Rises Selena Kyle which is a platinum edition
01:22 release I'd like to thank the folks over at McFarland toys that did provide this
01:25 sample we could have a look at Selena is available right now either in stores or
01:29 online so happy hunting if you're interested get one for yourself as for
01:33 the figures height she stands counting of course the ears on the top of her
01:36 head about seven inches in height and that translates to a figure that's about
01:40 17 and a half centimeters tall not the first figure tied to Nolan no in fact we
01:45 did get an entire Dark Knight trilogy version of figures and in that line we
01:49 got ourselves not only a Christian Bill Batman a tie along then with the Anne
01:52 Hathaway version of Catwoman but also through that wave allowed the chance to
01:55 build ourselves a Bane I still think the Bane is way too big he needs to be
01:59 shorter than what he is we did get though a standalone version trenchcoat
02:02 Bane but with the confrontation leading up to bats and him battling I'd love to
02:07 see them release also a shirtless version of Bane maybe if that be the
02:10 time they could also shrink the size just a little bit because I think he's
02:13 way too big bringing another Catwoman in also as well here's what she looks like
02:17 with the Arkham series version Catwoman and also a couple of characters not from
02:21 the Nolan verse either but from movie time characters from Batman and Robin
02:24 here's what she looks like with both Batgirl and poison ivy as for
02:28 accessories and Hathaway's Catwoman comes included with first a very generic
02:32 display stand if you have collected any of the DC multiverse figures yes this
02:36 is the same pretty much stand that we get with every iteration of DC
02:40 characters still has the DC logo printed down below still has one peg right there
02:45 that's gonna plug in to either one of her heels figure also comes included
02:49 with a trading card really like to look at a trading card taking once again
02:52 source material rather than taking figure photography it does have of
02:55 course Catwoman presented on the front with though her visor down similar to
02:59 what we're actually getting here with the figure taking this from Dark Knight
03:02 Rises and flip it around onto the back one of the more longer reads that I read
03:05 at the beginning of the review you read that the beginning of the review yes the
03:08 turnaround of the figure I actually read it right from the card so took a little
03:11 bit of time but I read it from start to finish you're welcome don't have to do
03:15 that let's move off to the side figure comes also included here with a bunch of
03:20 several different interchangeable hands as it is right now she has a pair of
03:23 relaxed hands clawing hands as well she also comes included with a pair of
03:27 closed fists not the most interesting of hands those likely won't be ever
03:30 attaching on to the ends of the forearms I'm just gonna move off to the side the
03:34 more intriguing enticing hands happen to be these ones here I can actually hold
03:37 on to them they're very slippery yeah these these are gripping hands these
03:42 will then swap out with the ones that she has right now in favor then of her
03:45 holding any one of the two accessories that she comes a clue with it hey why
03:49 not she has two hands she has two accessories you can do the math she can
03:52 do both to change out the hands by the way it's just a case of removing of
03:56 first again just to show you guys what those hands look like nice little
03:59 dynamic hands yeah we're gonna go ahead and remove those from the provided pegs
04:03 just wiggle them off the post there we go and then we just replace it with
04:07 whatever hand we want to use I mean obviously if you want to follow the rule
04:10 of thumb literally I gotta get that made into a t-shirt the rule of thumb pop
04:15 that in place though now she has the means to hold the two accessories that
04:18 she comes included with those two accessories happen to be Wayne's prized
04:22 family jewels get your mind out of the gutter the necklace of pearls plays a
04:28 big significant role at least from his first encounter with Catwoman more so
04:31 Selena Kyle and while it doesn't actually close I mean it's permanently
04:34 open like this with the lip that it has on the bottom of it she actually can
04:39 hold it pretty good and basically just clips inside her hand if I can actually
04:43 just get the fingers pride of slightly away from the palm yeah she holds the
04:47 pearls pretty good pretty good indeed but she'd also hold the following also
04:51 an item as well just getting her to stand looks a little out of place like
04:55 she's actually showcasing the pearls let's put put those away for one moment
04:58 here the figure also comes included with the broken cowl of bat now this is
05:03 obviously when Batman is fighting Bane the first time and he literally just
05:07 breaks his back and then proceeds to take the the broken off cowl piece and
05:10 carries it then away like a trophy it's nicely done here it looks like it's also
05:15 wet too I mean obviously when he's battling Bane there's a little bit of
05:17 wetness happening here so it does look like the cowl is a little bit more moist
05:21 moist one thing that's neat though is that if you bring in the Batman that we
05:26 did get from before it's pretty much an equally sized cowl it's not like it's
05:29 oversized or anything like that you could believe by looking at it that it
05:33 would belong to this head sculpt here although it obviously isn't what's also
05:37 rather interesting about this is not only does it belong to Catwoman for her
05:40 to carry around but if you happen to bring back in the Bane and you happen to
05:44 use this hand here if you put the cowl inside his hand whoops and not drop the
05:50 cowl a piece in the process sorry sorry let me just pick that up if you do put
05:55 it into his hand though the cowl piece actually sits right on his finger I'm
06:00 sure that wasn't intentional but if you look at it he actually holds it
06:03 perfectly if I wasn't going to be dropping it onto the floor so it's a
06:07 nice little included accessory I don't recall actually Bane even having the
06:10 broken cowl piece so it's nice that they actually included it not with him but
06:14 they included with Catwoman and again if you wanted to put that in Catwoman's
06:17 hands basically just fits inside between her thumb and her fingers try not to
06:21 drop it this time around the figure can carry it around that way as well all
06:25 those accessories let's move those all out of the way and get a closer look at
06:28 Catwoman I gotta say from a standpoint of a likeness it does bear strong enough
06:32 resemblance to Anne Hathaway that I know who the character supposed to be I mean
06:36 with Nolan's verse of characters obviously they try to tie in a little
06:38 bit more realism to it so instead of her just straight out having ears on the top
06:42 of her head they explain it away in effect in the fact that she is a cat
06:45 burglars basically this is just her night vision she folds these down and
06:49 proceeds to be able to see what she's doing when she's burgling I guess
06:52 people's belongings and then when of course when she's folding them up in
06:55 the defaulted pose it sort of does give her a makeshift pair of ears I do hope
07:00 though that we do get a couple of variations of this I mean obviously as
07:03 it being a platinum edition they could have also just simply added an alternate
07:07 head sculpt with the goggles actually down or also they could have also
07:10 released this figure with a secondary head portrait that doesn't even have
07:14 this piece on her head in the first place that may then mean that down the
07:18 road they're probably going to use the mold again I wouldn't be surprised if we
07:21 don't get this cat woman again but from the head sculpt standpoint I think it's
07:24 pretty good she is a little on the red side when it comes to her cheeks and of
07:28 course she's got quite bright red lips but I think it still works pretty good
07:30 for the character the hair is quite long though so it's going to cause a little
07:34 bit more conflict when it comes to actually rotating the head back and
07:37 forth though although we will be talking about when we have a look at the figures
07:40 articulation for the rest of the figures body generally all black although the
07:43 black at least is treated in different mediums so of course you got kind of
07:46 more the more flat based black that has some decent texturing onto it as well
07:51 and then she also has shinier black represented here both in her gloves her
07:55 belt and then her lower legs as well if you ever had the original hot toys this
08:00 cat one was very prone to the costume flaking luckily I could never get around
08:04 to pulling the trigger to getting that cat woman so I never really had the
08:06 issue myself but overall again it's a nice looking body a nice overall
08:10 sculpting of the figure she generally a small sized frame but it works really
08:13 well for the obviously the proportions that she had in the movie and how she
08:16 would then scale with Christian Bale's Batman now for the figures articulation
08:20 I already did mention that she's gonna have a little bit more limitations
08:22 simply just because she got such longer hair on the back rotating the head I
08:26 mean again you can only turn it back and forth about this far the head only looks
08:30 up about that much I know you may have already missed it you didn't really miss
08:33 it the head looks down that far but I mean having the head tilted back you
08:36 can't really do too much with it I think we are supposed to be getting ourselves
08:39 also a bat pod would love to have in hathaway's cat woman displayed on the
08:44 bat pod the upper torso is gonna be on a ball joint nice to see that the figure
08:48 also has just below the belt yeah that's also an abdomen a torso joint as well so
08:53 you can also rotate it there the shoulders do rotate the hair not getting
08:57 at all in the way you can bring the arms easily out almost at 90 degrees there is
09:02 a while not having a bicep swivel what they actually have done instead is they
09:06 I guess there is still a bicep swivel but it's not in a place where you
09:09 normally expect it swivel cuts for biceps tend to be right around here what
09:13 they've done instead is they brought a little bit lower and they've hidden it
09:15 within where her glove would actually start so there's a swivel cut right here
09:19 but it's not up by her shoulder the figure does have a double hinge on the
09:22 elbow the hands as well rotate all the way around the again we've already looked
09:26 at the torso the legs split out there on ratcheted joints so you can see the
09:29 inside there nice tight legs by the way get your mind out of the gutter the legs
09:33 move forward and back again there's a swivel but the swivel cut is actually
09:36 just above the boots it's right where the boot attaches to the rest of the
09:39 leg so nicely hidden articulation figure does have a double hinge on the
09:43 knee and then she has the ankle pivot back and forth and ankle rocker as well
09:46 I know we're not gonna spend a whole lot of time talking about this but
09:49 obviously I want to draw your attention to the fact that she does have those
09:51 silver heels like she would have in the movie I believe also the heels had some
09:55 serrations like a serrated knife although you don't see it here actually
09:59 on the heels that she has oh and also she has to articulation but if you are
10:03 looking to put this figure on a display stand I've somewhat ironic though that
10:06 this Catwoman of all the other female figures tend to always have hard time
10:10 standing this Catwoman doesn't have too much oh there I don't jinxed it she
10:14 doesn't have too hard of a time to stand can I actually get her to stand now you
10:20 know what let's bring in a display stand I'm not gonna fight with this I'm not
10:22 gonna fight with us just get yourself the display stand it's there it's
10:25 provided just plug it on to the bottom of her feet get her on the display
10:29 looking good again I think we are gonna be getting ourselves a bat pod believe
10:33 it has already been announced by the folks over at McFarland toys definitely
10:36 excited for that either I will then have the bat pod for the purpose of obviously
10:40 displaying Christian Bale's Batman or hey why not like the end of the movie I
10:43 could actually have her saddling the top of the bat pod get your mind out of the
10:47 gutter and of course once again there is Bane nice crucial accessories also that
10:51 they came in clue with Catwoman not only the fact that she also comes included
10:55 the Wayne family jewels but she also has as well the broken cowl this will go
10:59 with Catwoman this will go with Bane and Batman unfortunately doesn't get
11:02 anything oh I guess he gets the girl at the end of the movie so there's that all
11:06 in all I'm really happy with how Catwoman turned out we had to wait a
11:09 little bit longer she wasn't obviously part of the original Nolan trilogy or
11:12 the Dark Knight trilogy of figures that we already got from before but we had to
11:15 wait a little while and I think she was well worth the wait nice looking figure
11:18 overall she scales pretty good again with Bale and Bane and again a nice
11:22 figure that if you have been missing Anne Hathaway's Catwoman McFarland
11:26 obviously has answered the call with a decent release of her while Nolan's
11:29 Catwoman isn't really known to wield a whip she does pretty good for herself
11:32 with other accessories several different interchangeable hands a total of six
11:36 I'm only using really one right now for final looks she comes also included with
11:39 Wayne's family pearls and of course the broken cowl piece the cowl piece while
11:43 belonging to Catwoman at least for right now will only be temporary long-term
11:47 plans for that cowl piece is actually gonna be belonging to Bane one of the
11:50 things that I really wish that that Bane could have came in clear with in the
11:53 first place and didn't maybe we might end up getting a shirtless version of
11:57 Bane where you never know they might use this cowl piece again and speaking of
12:00 things being reused again I wouldn't be least bit surprised if this Catwoman
12:04 body doesn't get used again get your mind out of the gutter where we don't
12:07 get ourselves not only an unmasked version of Selena Kyle's Catwoman but
12:11 also as one with goggles down granted yes the goggle down head sculpt could
12:15 have easily been added to this figure but obviously with the accessory count
12:19 being as high as it is already with this release including of course the
12:22 displaced in and the trading card I would be not surprised at all if McFarland
12:26 doesn't release a second version of Catwoman down the road that doesn't have
12:29 the goggles down version what do you guys think of the figure let me know
