00:00Just when I need clowns from space and a mallet to the face, here's your look in the Trick-or-Treat Studios Scream Greats Series 2 Killer Clowns from Outer Space Jumbo.
00:21Trick-or-Treat Studios is proud to present the officially licensed MGM Studios Killer Clowns from Outer Space action figures as part of their Scream Greats Series 2 collection.
00:28Scream Greats features iconic characters from some of your favorite cinematic masterpieces.
00:32Each highly detailed figure is an 8-inch scale and would be perfect for display in any collection.
00:37I don't know what's making more impact. This clowns mallet or his clashing of colors.
00:41Either way, though, one thing I do know is I'd like to thank the folks over at Trick-or-Treat Studios that did provide this sample.
00:46More good news, guys. The Scream Greats Killer Clowns from Outer Space Series 2 Jumbo is available right now on their site for $39.99.
00:53What's also available is the previously looked-at Rudy, which we will bring in a moment.
00:57In the meantime, though, let's take the tape measure, and let's see what the tape measure tells us.
01:02If I listen real closely...
01:04What? Sorry, what?
01:07Tape measure's shy. He's telling me, though, that the clown is going to stand at 9 1⁄2 inches in height if you didn't see it for yourself.
01:13That's going to translate to a figure that's 24 centimeters tall.
01:16I'm not going to be as shy to bring in the previously looked-at Rudy.
01:19Rudy, when you, though, compare him against Jumbo, he is a little bit shorter, which I think is correct to the film.
01:23Again, bringing in some of the other previously looked-at Killer Clowns from Outer Space,
01:27Fatsu, who was fat, doesn't seem, though, to be as big when you're comparing him with the likes of Jumbo.
01:32Then, of course, we've also had the opportunity to look at both slim, and here's also what the figure looks like with Shorty.
01:37Jumbo likely will take a swing, but Trick-or-Treat Studios didn't miss when it comes to including the mallet for the figure's accessories.
01:42The mallet itself, taking it out of the packaging, I was concerned, though, that the handle wasn't going to be long enough.
01:47Sure, yes, you could have him easily hold it in one hand, but would he be able to hold it with both?
01:51The answer to that question is yes, a resounding yes.
01:54I mean, sure enough, yes, you can also get the mallet just in his one hand if you really want.
01:58The one thing, though, I did notice, though, with the mallet is previously, in preparation to this review,
02:03and I certainly recommend doing this before you actually have the clown holding his weapon,
02:06heat the hand, though, in hot water, because I noticed, though, the fingers, as you can see here, are pretty close to one another.
02:11Though, since some time has passed, as this guy was yammering on, he still manages to hold easily enough the mallet.
02:18Again, one hand, or again, if you want to have him holding it with both.
02:22I found it was actually easier to put it in this hand first, and sort of have it more the head side out first,
02:29kind of just clip it in between his fingers, just like that, and then you want to just kind of bring it down around.
02:34And this is kind of really the part where you kind of have to make sure that you're, like, lining up everything.
02:38And as you can see, yeah, Jumbo holds the mallet fine with both his hands.
02:42And even though, like, the hammer is a large in size accessory,
02:45it doesn't seem like it's heavy enough to really add a lot of unnecessary weight to his shoulders.
02:49In fact, even just having him holding the mallet with one hand, he holds it perfectly fine.
02:54No issues there.
02:55Taking, though, the weapon out of his hand, because we know he's going to do bad things with it,
02:58let's put it off to the side.
03:00We'll bring it back, though, as we wrap up this review.
03:02Yeah, though, the clashing of patterns.
03:04What's going on here when it comes to Jumbo's design?
03:06And, again, basing it very accurately and faithfully to the way he appears in the film.
03:10I like, though, the head sculpt for Jumbo.
03:12All the clowns are, again, unique from one another.
03:14To see, like, there may be cases, obviously, just in the background there.
03:18They may have used very similar design clowns, but usually, like, the main team of clowns,
03:22the ones that we always see front and center, all are very different from one another.
03:26And, again, when you look at the design here for Jumbo,
03:28I like that he's got this little curly-Q stem of hair sticking out the top of his head.
03:32And then these sides, all done here in a very bright green.
03:36His ears jet out.
03:37He's got a little novice nose.
03:39And, again, really nice-looking paintwork that they've done to this in a very similar fashion, too.
03:43It kind of has, when you look and really add his face, not just solely like a white,
03:47but almost has almost a pearlesque color that they've added to the paint.
03:51Again, when you look at the eyes, again, like how well they've done the eyebrows,
03:55or, like, even, like, the eyebrows above it, like the little...
03:57Would that be really an eyebrow?
03:58I guess those would just be little rings that go around the eyes.
04:02Very nicely painted, too.
04:03This guy has a lot of color going for him.
04:06Kind of that kind of color that you would expect to see, like, artwork from, like, a 90s restaurant.
04:12If you ever go into a 90s Chinese restaurant or, like, any, just any restaurant in, like, the 90s,
04:16often, at times, you'd either find wallpaper that look like this or just random framed art pieces.
04:21A lot of times you may see them now in thrift stores.
04:23That's sort of the vibe that I'm getting here when I look at Jumbo.
04:26Again, very faithfully reproduced here.
04:28I like that the main coloring, obviously, starts here in purple,
04:31but there's this almost kind of reptile prints or texturing that they've done to the body itself.
04:36And, of course, with these large squares all done here in a metallic blue,
04:40outlined very nicely also here in black, this really has a lot to look at.
04:45He's certainly one of the more brighter-looking clowns.
04:48I mean, in the sense that, obviously, when we've looked at clowns in the past like Shorty,
04:51Shorty's got, like, the bright yellows, the bright greens, the bright blues,
04:54but there's certainly a lot more that I feel like my eyes are honing in on.
04:57Whether that's a good thing or not, he certainly has a lot of good paint going for him.
05:01Now, like with all the cases before, Jumbo on the bottom of his seat do, in fact, have pickles,
05:06though none of these clowns actually have yet, up to this point, come include with display stands.
05:10Again, like, he's got the little, up to the attention to detail, tiny little fingernails.
05:14Look at these tiny little nails.
05:16They're all well-painted there, too.
05:17I mean, there's not really a bit of paint that I feel has been left off, even, like, the color.
05:21Even though, like, again, I feel like the colors clash considerably,
05:24I like that they've gone in here and matched the pattern to the way, again, he appears in the film.
05:28Sort of has kind of like a web print, little random squares there in yellow.
05:33It's just a really interesting-looking clown.
05:34I will say, like, from a design standpoint, Jumbo may not be one of my personal favorites.
05:38Spiky is another one that we will be also looking at this week, too.
05:41Spiky, I think I like a little bit more, though, than Jumbo.
05:44But, again, like, if you're collecting all of the killer clowns from under space,
05:47at the affordable price, the Trick-or-Treat Studios are landing these on their site for it, like $39.99.
05:52It's a good-sized figure, and he's going to go really well, again, with the other killer clowns.
05:56I'm sure you're likely picking up up to this point.
05:58Now, for the figure's articulation, going, though, back to Jumbo's head,
06:02much like all the other killer clowns from under space, all of them have ball-joined heads.
06:06So, while, unfortunately, a little bit more limited here for Jumbo,
06:09you can still, though, rock his head back and forth.
06:11You can move it up and down, and you can rotate it.
06:14I would really not recommend rotating it all the way around.
06:17It does feel like it gets a little hung up,
06:19and I really wouldn't want to have to scrape any of the paint there on his collar.
06:22This very glorious-looking blue that they painted to the top of the collar.
06:25But, again, he's got the articulation, I feel, where it counts.
06:28His arms, again, move forward and back.
06:30He sort of has somewhat of the similar idea as slim,
06:32where, like, you can move his arm up,
06:34but because he's got this large collar piece that goes draping over top of the end of the shoulders,
06:38moving his arm all the way around probably isn't really going to happen.
06:42But, sure enough, yeah, you can still move his arms forward and back.
06:45There is some articulation, also, as well.
06:47We can move his arms out.
06:47Now, I did notice, though, when we looked at Rudy,
06:51Rudy didn't seem to have what I thought at the time was a decent poseability in his shoulders,
06:56where I feel like I couldn't really move his arms out.
06:58Sure enough, though, spending a little bit more time with it,
07:01yeah, he does also have the hinge joint, too.
07:03So, even though, like, in the review, I did say he only had just standard swivels,
07:06no, they actually all seem to have hinges in their shoulders there, too.
07:10So, again, like, when it comes to these figures,
07:13Jumbo does, again, have the hinge there in his shoulders.
07:15Just, I wouldn't really recommend trying to rotate his arm all the way around.
07:19His hands, sure enough, though, do have ball joints.
07:21Those are easy enough to move back and forth.
07:23He can also rotate them all the way around.
07:25And then, really, like, from there, from this point further down,
07:28there really isn't any levels of poseability.
07:30There's nothing at all that you can move to these figures.
07:31But I feel, though, that with the figure getting, what,
07:34five points of articulation, head, right, shoulders, yeah, and also hands,
07:38I think you're landing just the right levels of poseability.
07:41I wouldn't want these figures necessarily have hinges in their knees,
07:43hinges in their ankles.
07:45Again, like, when it comes to a clown, just something like this,
07:47you're probably more interested in having him just look good on the shelf
07:51than a figure that necessarily needs to be super poseable.
07:54Again, let's bring it back in the other killer clowns from outer space.
07:56Here's what he, again, looks like here with Fatso.
07:59So, bring back in Slim.
08:01Recently, again, we looked at Rudy.
08:03And lastly, the little run to the litter.
08:05And here's what the figure looks like with Shorty.
08:08Just again, like, Jumbo is the tallest so far figure that we've also had a look at.
08:11I mean, that may very well likely change when we do also look at Spikey.
08:17Spikey, I have sort of the feeling like he's going to be a little bit taller than Jumbo.
08:21We will only then really know when we get around to looking at him.
08:23But, you know, again, like, the fact that all the killer clowns are so unique from one another,
08:27different colors, different patterns, different faces,
08:29it's all more the reason why Killer Clowns was such a successful cult-following film.
08:34Fans still to this day love Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
08:37And I think, like, as Trick or Treat Studios has gone along and released all these clowns
08:41in the Screen Grades line, they seem to have just gotten better and better and better.
08:45I mean, again, like, the accessories have changed, the faces have changed.
08:47But in the end, though, we have quite a cool clown collection,
08:50courtesy of the folks over at Trick or Treat Studios.
08:53As tempting, I'm sure it would be to walk towards a big, giant, creepy clown
08:55that's gesturing towards you, I would still say it's probably first an idea to finish your dinner
08:59and then maybe just take a gander at the fact that this clown has a big, giant mallet behind his back.
09:04Like he does, though, in the film, you can also put the mallet behind Jumbo's back.
09:07And I love that that's a feature that he has.
09:09The other finger serves perfectly to be the one that's gesturing that tiny little girl inside the restaurant.
09:14Jumbo, though, has some real standout scenes in the Killer Clowns from Outer Space film.
09:18He also plays, at one point, peek-a-boo.
09:20And even though, while he doesn't have that level of possibility to be able to pull off a proper peek-a-boo,
09:25the figure is still, again, from head to toe, colorful, vibrant.
09:28And even though, like, the patterns maybe don't jive as much here for Jumbo,
09:32he's a great-looking figure.
09:33And one that's still available right now in Trick or Treat Studios' website.
09:36If, though, your plan for this Christmas is to collect some killer clowns,
09:40Trick or Treat Studios got you covered.
09:42Because so far, like, of the killer clowns we've looked at,
09:44I think they still have all of them readily available in stock.
09:47What do you guys think of Jumbo?
09:48Let me know down below in the comments section.
09:50And again, a big thank you to the folks over at Trick or Treat Studios that did provide this sample.
09:54We're two clowns down.
09:55One more clown to go.
09:57Coming up this week, in fact, we will also be looking at the Scream Greats Series 2
10:00Color Clowns from Outer Space, Spikey.
10:02Definitely looking forward to getting that one outside this plastic prison.
