00:00Luckily for you, you don't need a rubber balloon dog to help you find this figure.
00:03Here's your look at a new Trick-or-Treat Studios Scream Great Series 2 Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Spikey!
00:22Trick-or-Treat Studios is proud to present the officially licensed MGM Studios Killer Clowns from Outer Space figures
00:27as part of their Scream Great Series 2 collection.
00:30Scream Greats features iconic characters from some of your favorite cinematic masterpieces.
00:34Each highly detailed figure is in an 8-inch scale and would be perfect for display in any collection.
00:38Oh, I know, rather big shoes to fill.
00:40And yet, Trick-or-Treat Studios has been up to the task of releasing all the Killer Clowns we see from the feature film.
00:44We have now at least, I think, 6 Killer Clowns with still more room to grow.
00:48We still see other clowns in the movie that I'm sure we're going to be getting released at a later time.
00:53Let's not worry, though, so much about the later. Let's worry about the now.
00:55Now, right now, I'd like to thank the folks over at Trick-or-Treat Studios that did make this review possible.
01:00The Scream Great Series 2 Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Spikey, is available on their site,
01:04along with the Rudy and the Jumbo that we've already had a look at this week.
01:08As for how tall the figure's going to stand, let's answer that question quickly.
01:12Spikey's going to stand, if we go right to the very top of the spike, 9 1⁄4 inches in height.
01:17That's going to translate to a figure that's 24 centimeters tall.
01:19Oh, has it really been six figures so far already? Yeah.
01:21I mean, in fact, this week alone, we looked at three.
01:24Here's what the figure looks like, first of all, with Jumbo.
01:26And it does answer a question I had during Jumbo's review of whether, though, Spikey was going to be a taller figure.
01:31And the answer to that, clearly, Jumbo still is the tallest of the Killer Clowns we've gotten so far.
01:35We also had a look at, obviously, Rudy, so that would make up at least the Wave 2, Series 2 of Killer Clowns from Outer Space and the Scream Greats.
01:43But let's not also forget about the Series 1.
01:45Series 1, though, consisted of both Fatso, Slim, and front and center, here's what the figure looks like, with Shorty.
01:51I've got to say, Spikey has my favorite accessories from the Killer Clowns.
01:53In fact, he actually has two accessories.
01:56The first one, though, being the Cotton Candy Gun.
01:58It isn't the exact same gun as we got with both Slim and Fatso.
02:01Just to bring in that one right now, you can see there's a little bit of difference, especially in the handle.
02:05I mean, with the handle being the same size and, really, the Cotton Candy Gun being almost identical in size,
02:10you don't necessarily have to have this one being the one that's carried by the puppet.
02:14In fact, if you wanted to, you could also use this one as well.
02:17As for the Cotton Candy Gun, it, again, doesn't have to necessarily be held by the puppet like it does in the film.
02:22You can also attach this into the hand of Spikey.
02:24In fact, actually, the figure has the means to have the gun in either one of his hands.
02:28The only thing about it, though, is that the hands are really harder in plastic.
02:32So I certainly recommend, before doing what I'm doing just now, heat the hand, though, in hot water.
02:37But he does have the means, though, to have the Cotton Candy Gun in either one of them.
02:41I think most people, though, if they're looking to pick up Spike, would probably end up more inclined to have the figure displayed with his puppets.
02:47Like we see, though, in the film, Spikey does have himself a little puppet.
02:50It's not something that you would expect necessarily from Sesame Street, but it certainly gets me that same sort of vibes.
02:56I like that with, like Spikey, the puppet itself also does have spiky hair.
03:00There's no possibility at all to this, so don't be expecting that.
03:03But though, on the bottom of the puppet, there is a socket.
03:06Anyone want to take a guess what it's going to be doing?
03:08Yeah.
03:09If, in fact, you divorce the hand from the rest of the forearm, you can actually pop that off and just swap it out with the puppet.
03:15Now, I'll do that in a second.
03:16In the meantime, though, I did want to show you guys, like in the movie, you can take the gun and you just wedge it in between the hands of the puppet.
03:24I don't really know that.
03:26What was the sound, really, of the Cotton Candy Gun?
03:27It was more like a vaporizing sound.
03:29But, again, if you wanted to, you just take this one off, and you could use the one from Slim or Fatso, and it would also use that as well.
03:36I actually kind of like the fact that, though, the handle is more of a blue, because I think with so much pink going on anyways for the puppet, I think the blue does a nice job of breaking that up.
03:45The actual handle, though, does have a little scrape on that.
03:48I don't know if that's actually from me actually attaching this onto the handle of the puppet.
03:51I don't think it is.
03:52It probably came out of the packaging that way.
03:54Just fun, though, the fact that the figure does come in clear with the puppet.
03:56Now, again, I did say this, if you wanted to, all you have to really then do is just take the hand, pop it off the peg.
04:02Super easy to do.
04:03And you just take the puppet and just wedge that on there.
04:06I actually find it's easier to put the gun on there after the fact, because you really have to put a fair bit of pressure to get that onto the peg.
04:14There we go.
04:15Once that's on there, though, go back to revisit the idea of taking the ray gun and the Cotton Candy Gun in his hand.
04:21Despite really having what you would imagine to be a lot of front heaviness, Spike has no job.
04:25No task at all.
04:27Really struggling to hold the Cotton Candy Gun and the puppet in his hand.
04:30Love the look of that.
04:31And it's unfortunate, though.
04:32It now means that I'm going to have myself an extra hand.
04:34I'll have to put it in a bag with all the other accessories from my Scream Greats collection.
04:38But it's unfortunately a sacrifice that has to really rightfully has to be made in order to get the figure to be displayed looking as good as it does.
04:46I think what I might end up doing, though, is...
04:49Do we want to try to keep the puppet in the rest of this?
04:51We'll keep this for the rest of this review.
04:53Maybe, if anything, we'll just kind of remove the Cotton Candy Gun.
04:55Let's put it off to the side.
04:56There we go.
04:57As for, though, the details on Spike looks just as good as he does in the film.
05:01The one thing that's rather interesting, though, about mine, and if anyone's picked this figure up for yourself, let me know, too, if you've had a similar experience.
05:08On the back of his costume, he had two little rectangular squares of tape.
05:14Now, I had to go back, and I watched the movie again.
05:16And, in fact, actually, I went and looked at the images that Trick or Treat Studios had posted on their site.
05:20And it makes no mention of these little squares of tape.
05:24Now, I kid you not.
05:26I mean, obviously, we're dealing with killer clowns that like the kid.
05:28I'm not going to be the guy that's kidding, either.
05:29I didn't actually put the tape on there, but I noticed that the tape was on the figure when I took him out.
05:34Again, I don't know why the tape was there in the first place, but I'll just peel it off.
05:37Maybe it was just something that came off the assembly line like this.
05:40I mean, the tape is easy to remove, and it doesn't obviously have any unfinished paint underneath.
05:44Why it ended up there?
05:46No idea.
05:47Still, though, looking at the face sculpt for Spike.
05:49Let's just move his hand out of the way.
05:51Spike, he does have a great-looking face.
05:53Kind of more of the squinted eyes.
05:54It's a little harder to make out his pupils, but again, like, he's got the big spikes on the top of his head,
05:58living really up to the namesake of this killer clown.
06:00Big smile on his face.
06:01You can see, like, as small as it may be, Trick or Treat Studios and the talented arts behind the scenes,
06:06meticulously, meticulously painted the top and bottom of the teeth.
06:10There also seems to be a tongue in there as well.
06:12I think, like, the faces on all of these figures have been really good.
06:14But despite, though, really thinking that Rudy was my favorite,
06:17he is still kind of really my favorite of the killer clowns from outer space.
06:20He's the one that I always tend to think of when I think of the movie.
06:23I got to say, from a figure standpoint, Rudy is my all-time favorite.
06:26I just love the look of him.
06:27Bright colors, of course, and the pink there.
06:29The frilled collar, again, like, it's kind of using more of a translucent yellow plastic.
06:34And you can see that they've, again, very, very carefully added a line of gold there on the top and on the bottom there as well.
06:41This does, though, seem like it's a separate piece from the rest of his costume.
06:44My guess, though, is they probably have glued it right here.
06:46So, I mean, I don't know why people would really want to be peeling away that anyways.
06:50Big giant stars there on the front of his chest, on the side there as well.
06:54I, like, I really think, like, even, like, the yellow alone, yellow would be something, though, if not applied to second coat,
07:00you probably would have been able to see the green peeking through.
07:02And I think, for the most part, they've done a really nice job.
07:05I haven't had any complaints at all when it comes to these scream great figures that Trick or Treat Studios have released.
07:10Like with all the other clowns, too, if you look real close.
07:12Now, he only has one of them now.
07:14He has these tiny little, I mean, they're like raspberry seeds, tiny, tiny little raspberry seed fingernails.
07:20And, again, all of those have been all well-painted.
07:22Again, these clowns only have three fingers and a thumb.
07:25So, if you're expecting to count the number of fingers with your number of fingers,
07:28you're going to end up with an extra one.
07:30That's really deep.
07:31The figure does have, again, like, really nice sculpted boots.
07:34Nice big clown shoes.
07:35I shouldn't really call them boots.
07:37Gold trim is also on there as well.
07:39Gold all on the bottoms of the soles, too.
07:41Now, the soles are left flat, and I think that that's the best idea, too.
07:44It means, though, that when it comes to standing,
07:46these killer clowns so far have had no issues standing at all.
07:49If, though, you wanted to, there are peg holes technically on the backs of the heels
07:53that you can plug them in then to a display stand,
07:55even though a stand isn't included with these figures.
07:58For the figure's articulation, like with the others before,
08:01one thing that's going to be done a little bit different, though, with Spike,
08:04is that Spikey, I keep wanting to call him just Spike,
08:06Spikey has to lose, unfortunately, his hand.
08:09But the possibility is about the same.
08:11He may not be able to move as much when it comes to the puppet,
08:14but there is still possibility there.
08:17Though, starting with the top of his head,
08:19Spikey's head is going to be on, again, that ball joint,
08:21so it looks down, looks obviously up.
08:23It's a little prickly, obviously, if you're holding it from the top of his head.
08:26Maybe it's better to hold it from the side.
08:28But again, you can rock it back and forth, up and down.
08:30You can rotate it all the way around.
08:32The collar doesn't do at all of the job of getting in the way of the head rotation.
08:36Hands also, arms, I should say, rotate all the way around.
08:39You can also hinge them out.
08:40Again, all the killer clowns have had hinges in their shoulders,
08:43even though, again, like with Rudy's, his was a little bit more tighter.
08:46But they hinge out.
08:47You can also rotate them all the way around.
08:49And the hands themselves, even though, again,
08:51like this one does the better job of showing you guys,
08:54you move back and forth, you can rotate it.
08:56Once you, though, swap it out for the puppet,
08:58it's a little hard to kind of get the same thing going.
09:01Again, there's no possibility at all for the puppet's head.
09:03No possibility, really, for the rest of the bodies down.
09:06I mean, again, you can't rotate the legs,
09:07you can't rotate the legs or the feet, for that matter.
09:10But I don't think it necessarily needs it.
09:12I keep saying this.
09:12Like, for the fact that we get a figure this size,
09:15for the fact that, again, they've been as faithful as they have been
09:18to produce all the killer clowns from outer space,
09:20for only having really five points of articulation,
09:23a ball joint, you know, again,
09:24hinge joints for the top of the shoulders,
09:26and ball joint hands.
09:27I think that, I think really for a killer clown,
09:29that's all you really need.
09:30They're more for shelf appeal,
09:32something that visibly are visually stunning.
09:34And certainly they have been that.
09:37You know, again, like, for me,
09:38I kind of went into this kind of expecting still to be Rudy,
09:41to be my favorite figure from wave two.
09:43And I have to feel, honestly, like I'm backpedaling.
09:46I'm a bit of a backpedaler now.
09:48I just happen to be looking at the lay of the land
09:50in series two of killer clowns.
09:52I think Spikey is my favorite.
09:54I think a lot of it also has to do with the fact
09:55that Spikey does have also the little marionette puppet.
09:58Let's go ahead and get the blaster back.
10:00Probably not a good idea.
10:01Give the clown a little ray gun.
10:04But yeah, I really think, though,
10:05that Spikey is my favorite of the three figures.
10:07And I don't think that does change at all either
10:09when we bring back in wave one.
10:11Series one now, again, completes six clowns,
10:14six clowns in.
10:15And again, like, I think there's still room to grow.
10:17If you go back and watch the movie,
10:19and again, it's a guilty pleasure for me
10:21to watch Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
10:22You can see there's still quite a lot of clowns,
10:24quite a lot of clowns,
10:25not necessarily squished inside of a clown car,
10:28but I feel there's certainly still opportunities
10:30for maybe a wave three to come around
10:32in Trick or Treat Studios to finish the rest.
10:34I think maybe you probably could do another three.
10:37I mean, again, how many more killer clowns
10:38would have appeared in Killer Clowns from Outer Space?
10:40I think anybody who much more is an expert of the film
10:42than I could probably count out
10:44how many killer clowns actually do,
10:45unique killer clowns, that is, appear in the film.
10:48But I think there's probably still opportunity
10:49for them to release a wave three and a wave four.
10:51I am super excited for that,
10:53for how good of a job they've handled
10:54the license of killer clowns so far.
10:56If there is a future, though, for the clowns,
10:58whether there's a future for mankind,
11:00I am on the ride.
11:01I am ready to go
11:02and really excited to see
11:04what Trick or Treat Studios have in store
11:05for Killer Clowns from Outer Space fans
11:07with future waves moving forward.
11:09You know, up to this point,
11:10I haven't even given credit
11:10to the sculptor behind the scenes
11:12that's talentedly working away
11:13getting these killer clowns from outer space
11:15out from space and onto your shelves.
11:17Alexander Ray.
11:18I think Alexander Ray has been responsible
11:20both for wave one and wave two
11:21of Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
11:23And he has, faithfully, I feel,
11:24taken the source material from the film
11:26and translated it to plastic.
11:28Again, while still,
11:29I feel Spikey is my favorite
11:30of the Killer Clowns from Outer Space,
11:31all of them,
11:32from Alexander Ray's hands now
11:34to the plastic,
11:35have been expertly crafted,
11:37well-sculpted,
11:38and equally well-painted.
11:39All the Killer Clowns
11:40have all had
11:41faithfully reproduced clown costumes.
11:43As the way they appear in the film,
11:45I like that they've added
11:45the frilled collars.
11:46And in the case, though,
11:47of Spikey,
11:48I think he's one of the only few
11:49Killer Clowns
11:50that actually does have
11:50more of a translucent plastic,
11:52both around in the top
11:53and the bottom collar piece,
11:55and then has the gold trim
11:56around that.
11:57Between that
11:57and then having the stars,
11:59I mean, the big calling card
12:00and notable thing trait-wise
12:01for Spikey
12:02is the fact he does also
12:03have the puppet.
12:04That might mean,
12:05because of that,
12:06I'm not going to be the only one
12:07that thinks that Spikey
12:08is probably the best
12:09Scream Greats Killer Clowns
12:10that we've gotten so far.
12:12Again, good news,
12:12if you guys are interested
12:13and would like to get Spikey
12:14or any of the other
12:15Scream Greats Killer Clowns
12:16that we've looked at
12:17all across the land
12:18of this channel,
12:19they are available right now
12:20on their site.
12:21Spikey, for example,
12:22is selling for $39.99
12:23for $40 all in.
12:25Then, of course,
12:26you also have the shipping
12:26on top of that.
12:28I don't think that's
12:28a bad price at all
12:29for the fact of what
12:30Trick or Treat Studios,
12:31again, Killer Clowns
12:32from Outer Space.
12:33At one point, though,
12:35Killer Clowns really wasn't
12:36a franchise that a lot of
12:37people really talked about.
12:38It was sort of a cult
12:40fan-fave classic.
12:41It was sort of one
12:42of those movies
12:43that back in the day
12:43was passed around in tapes.
12:45I'm dating myself
12:46by saying this.
12:47Back in the olden days,
12:48people usually would
12:49have asked somebody,
12:50oh, do you have a VHS tape
12:52of said movie?
12:53And then there was
12:54a lot of back in the day
12:54called tape trading
12:56where people would say,
12:57you have to see this movie
12:58and then you would
12:59lend someone their tape.
13:00I mean, that now
13:02since has been
13:02obviously abolished,
13:04everything now is so easily,
13:05readily available.
13:06And Killer Clowns,
13:06I think, has now gotten
13:07the true justice and service
13:09that it really did deserve
13:09as a film.
13:10I think more and more people
13:11are now seeing
13:12Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
13:13You could go to stores,
13:13even at Halloween,
13:15and see the clowns
13:16being predominantly featured.
13:17But I've got to say,
13:18like Trick or Treat Studios
13:18has probably been
13:19the most faithful
13:20to the franchise.
13:21Certainly when it comes
13:22to figures and ones
13:22that stand on the shelves,
13:24there hasn't been
13:24a better line
13:25than what we've gotten here.
13:26Again, a big thank you
13:27to the folks over
13:27at Trick or Treat Studios
13:28that did provide
13:29the sample of the
13:29Screen Great series
13:30to Killer Clowns
13:31from Outer Space,
13:32Spikey.
13:33Did the puppet have a name?
13:35I don't think it had a name.
13:36What would you name
13:36the puppet?
13:37Let me know down below.
13:38If you guys in the meantime
13:39did enjoy this video,
13:40you can do it
13:40as solid as throw it a like.
13:41If you guys want to
13:42stick around for more so,
13:43I hope so.
13:44Hit the subscribe,
13:45turn on the bell,

13:53So if that's the bread
13:53and butter that you like
