00:00Sure, it's good when they can share the shelf, but maybe this one's good enough to stand alone.
00:04Here's your look at the brand new Hiatoys, Exquisite Super Series, Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex, Kusanagi Motoko.
00:23Ghost in the Shell is a science fiction work set in the futuristic Japan, filled with high technology in the 21st century.
00:28In this world, people can enhance their bodies through cybernetic modifications, utilize brain-computer interfaces for direct interactions with computers, and even engage in consciousness transfer and personality migration.
00:39Motoko Kusanagi is one of the first users of a full-body cybernetic enhancement.
00:43She leads a team from Counter-Cyber Terrorist Organization Public Security Section 9 in executing missions to protect the public from cybercrime and other high-tech threats.
00:52This brand new Motoko Kusanagi action figure stands 14.5 centimeters tall and faithfully reproduces her appearance from Ghost in the Shell's standalone complex.
01:01Motoko dress in leather-like texture jacket, in violet-fitting combat suit that matches her hair.
01:06The combat suit and straps are made from real fabric, ensuring both articulation and aesthetic appeal.
01:11Accessories include rifle, detachable silencer, pistol, helmet, knife, and defender device are all finely detailed.
01:18With a highly posable body and interchangeable parts, allowing you to recreate various dynamic poses from the series.
01:25So it would seem that Haya has been sourcing out their figures from Section 9.
01:28And before we get a closer look at the brand new release of theirs, the Ghost in the Shell's standalone complex Kusanagi Motoko,
01:34let's go ahead and take the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands.
01:36Now, it's currently as a pre-order right now on Haya's site.
01:39It's listed for $89.99, and I'd like to thank the folks over at Haya Toys that did provide this sample.
01:43Back, though, to measuring, you're looking at Motoko standing about five and three-quarters of an inch in height.
01:49That's going to translate to a figure that's 14 centimeters tall.
01:51Kusanagi is a slightly small figure.
01:53She is still a survivor.
01:54And if anybody knows anything about surviving, then it's these guys right here.
01:58Booked in on both sides of Motoko, we've got ourselves the Walking Dead's Negan and First Blood's Rambo.
02:02Kusanagi does start first with a display stand.
02:05A display stand, in fact, with two different ways of displaying it.
02:07First, though, you get yourself the light, more boxier design of this,
02:10and does have the Ghost in the Shell standalone complex written along the top.
02:14You may notice that there's a peg hole there on top, and that's going to work well,
02:17then, with the adjustable neck that's going to be right over here.
02:20One thing, though, that is good, at least, about the display stands,
02:22though they are big, though they are bulky, they do have a hidden secret inside.
02:26If you lift up the lid, though, for the display stand, what you'll find, though, inside is a bag.
02:30The bag does have listed down below Haya Toys, but it does more than just that.
02:34You can take all the accessories, even though I really don't have much yet to show you guys,
02:37but there is a lot of accessories that are going to come and include with Motoko.
02:40So, you can store, though, all those said accessories inside the bag.
02:43You can then roll up the bag, and you can put it back in the box.
02:46Now, you can choose for yourself how you really, though, want to display Motoko.
02:49Some, though, choose to have, especially with our exquisite Super Series figures,
02:53have them high on their display stands like this.
02:56Now, the only problem with that, though, is that if you are displaying other figures then around them,
02:59obviously, they're going to be a little higher than everything else.
03:02One workaround, though, to that is you don't really even necessarily need to use the lid on the box.
03:06You could just use the lid on its own, and the lid on its own, then you have two options available.
03:10One, though, that just has the peg on the top as just one single stand-alone.
03:14Ah, stand-alone.
03:15Or you have that multiplied by nine.
03:18Three in the top, three down, obviously, on the side.
03:20That works out then to be nine.
03:21And there's nine then available options available that you can then take yourself your adjustable neck,
03:25and the neck does have, again, adjustability to it.
03:28A knuckle joint, a knuckle, knuckle, knuckle, and then, again, a twist on the end.
03:32You can attach that on this one, at least, in any different place that you want to put it.
03:36The one thing, unfortunately, though, that I don't like necessarily about the one that has the nine holes
03:40is it then loses the fact it does say stand-alone complex on the front.
03:44There really is no workaround, really, I guess, around that,
03:47other than maybe if they had just put a few extra holes, though, on this one.
03:50But generally, though, when it comes to displaying these exquisite Super Series figures on my shelf,
03:54I tend to usually go with the lid that has, again, the font on the front,
03:57just because, again, it does then attach the characters.
04:00And then speaking, again, of attaching, you'll have yourself then the waist clip.
04:03And generally, I don't display a lot of my exquisite Super Series figures with the adjustable neck
04:07because most times they're not.
04:09I'm not going to usually have them leaping up in the air.
04:11However, though, I feel with Kusanagi, that might be the one exception to the rule.
04:15First of all, if you find this is way too long, I mean, obviously, if this does fit around her waist,
04:19which it does, just basically fit that around her waist and snap it shut.
04:23I mean, obviously, you're not going to be doing, you're going to be doing a little bit more
04:26than what I'm doing right now.
04:26And if that does seem, granted, a little higher, what you can also do too,
04:31just take the top of the torso and put it back in place.
04:34It does unpeg.
04:35We'll talk more about that in a moment.
04:36But what you can do is any one of these points that start with the knuckle,
04:40just attach the parts you don't want to use.
04:42So you take that part off, take the waist clip off,
04:46and then you'll find yourself dealing with much smaller cords.
04:48It works a little bit better.
04:49Like for me, at least, when it comes to displaying the figure,
04:52I think two knuckle joints is more than enough.
04:54And again, that just basically fits around her waist.
04:56Like, again, that they continue the trend of continuing to include display stands.
05:00Again, you don't always have to feel the need or the pressure to attach the lid on top of the box.
05:04Again, if you find the box lid is too high,
05:06or just like the overall height to the display stand is way too high,
05:09just do it without it.
05:10Just instead use the lids, and they work perfectly fine.
05:12In addition to stands, Kasanagi does come and include some following accessories.
05:16First, let's go through the multitude of different hand options.
05:18Maybe we'll start things first, though.
05:20On the ends of her forearms right now, she has a pair of relaxed hands.
05:23If you feel, though, you want to change that out to something different,
05:26the figure does also come and include with a couple of closed fists.
05:29Granted, though, I always say this generally when we look at reviews like this,
05:32of figures that have closed fist hands.
05:34When they have really interesting accessories,
05:36Kasanagi certainly does have some rather interesting accessories.
05:39I usually, though, put these immediately back in the tray.
05:41I'll never find myself ever using closed fists.
05:44In fact, I'm not going to put them back in the tray just yet.
05:46I'll put them right over to the side.
05:48The figure does also come included with a pointing hand.
05:51She does also have a relaxed hand.
05:54And all these hands, by the way, are super simple to swap out.
05:57She does also come and include with a couple of gripping hands.
05:59Good for holding any one of the weapons.
06:01She has one that's definitely a little bit more closer of a grip.
06:03Definitely more suitable for the knife.
06:05And then she has a more wider grip than for holding her firearm.
06:09This is also interesting, too.
06:10The figure does also come and include another gripping hand.
06:12Maybe that's not as interesting.
06:13This is certainly, though, interesting.
06:14One thing, though, that was clever on their part, I did this at the beginning of the
06:18review, and I didn't want to actually show the surprise of having a figure with actually
06:21the two joined hands together.
06:24So what I did, though, instead at the beginning of this video, I chose just to use the two
06:27separate standalone hands.
06:28But if you wanted to, though, and you want to give it look like she's actually holding
06:32the side of her hand when she's holding the gun, instead of having to worry, though,
06:36about having two hands and, you know, forcing as close as you can get it together, it's
06:40never really going to hold it properly.
06:42What they chose, though, to instead do is that they actually molded two hands together.
06:46Now, again, it's going to work the same way.
06:48You're going to still have to plug both forearms onto the ends of the pegs, the pegs or into
06:52the holes.
06:53But at least, though, you already have two hands together.
06:56And again, you get yourself the pistol.
06:57I know we'll look at the pistol in a second.
06:59Pistol then slides into the one that has the grip.
07:03And then just wedge that in there.
07:05One thing I like, though, at least about the plastic is it's softer plastic.
07:09So, like getting the gun into her hand, although I seem to be struggling doing this.
07:15Once you get the gun into her hand, then the other hand, again, is bracing the other one.
07:20And I'll show you how that works with the figure in a second.
07:23If you don't like the idea of the figure having fingerless gloves, even though everybody was
07:27wearing fingerless gloves, perhaps entertain the option that she does also have regular
07:31hands, just regular hands, non-gloved hands.
07:33This will work also exceptionally well when we take off the jacket.
07:37Yeah, the jacket can be removed as well.
07:39And there is also a pointing hand for that, too.
07:42So let's move all the accessories, though, out of the way.
07:44I know we've already kind of looked at the fact the figure does come include the gun,
07:46so we'll go back to that.
07:48The gun itself, molded very well here in black plastic.
07:52Might even work a little bit easier, certainly, if I show you guys what it looks like really
07:55up close.
07:57It does not look like you can remove the clip down below.
08:00It would have been a nice touch had that be an included option.
08:03But really, considering for the fact it's so small anyways, I mean, what's the good likelihood
08:07that you're going to be losing it?
08:08For this guy, the likelihood is really quite high.
08:12She does also come included.
08:14Maybe we'll look at the knife, and then we'll kind of go to the other thing as well.
08:17She does also come include the knife.
08:19Knife looks good.
08:20Knife does look good.
08:21Very good.
08:21Painted well there, also in silver.
08:23It's a very long blade.
08:24I always kind of even feel like it's maybe too long for the figure's body, proportionally.
08:28Proportionally, maybe a little too long for the figure's body.
08:30But again, like she does have, again, the silver hand.
08:32Let's find a good hand for that.
08:34We'll take this hand right here.
08:36And again, the plastic for the fingers, soft enough.
08:39Take a little bit of pressure, mind you.
08:41And then you can fit the blade.
08:42Maybe we'll turn it around.
08:43There we go.
08:44And she can hold the knife perfectly fine.
08:48What else does she have?
08:49She does also have the Defender device.
08:51Now, the Defender device, I'd have to go back and watch the movie again or watch the series
08:55again.
08:56I think it goes onto her arm.
08:58I may or may not be correct.
08:59You can let me know down below in the comments section.
09:00It's pretty soft, though, in plastic.
09:02But it does fit, though.
09:03I mean, again, I fit it around her arm, her bicep.
09:06If you wanted to put it somewhere else, I don't think it necessarily will fit around
09:09her thigh.
09:09The thigh's a little too big on that side.
09:11But yeah, fitting it around her arm seems to be the best approach.
09:15Lastly, though, Kusanagi does come in clue with her large gun.
09:19Now, the gun itself does actually have a removable silencer.
09:22Go ahead and take the rifle and just hold onto the nozzle and just pull it off.
09:26I kind of actually like it really without the silencer.
09:29But again, if you choose, there's a hole on the end and obviously there's the peg on
09:32the end of the nozzle and just plug the two together.
09:35I suppose, if anything, it does give it a little bit longer of a reach.
09:38I generally, though, like the gun detached.
09:41And again, if you did want to swap out the hands, we'll go ahead and do that right now.
09:44Just pull the hands very easily off the pegs.
09:46Find the hand that you want to use.
09:48You want to use maybe this hand.
09:49What's a good hand for holding the rifle?
09:51There we go.
09:52Just take the new hand.
09:53You can see there's the hole right there and plug it onto the peg.
09:56Now, in order to get the jacket off, you may have to find yourself actually taking the
10:00hands off first.
10:01But we'll just take sort of Kusanagi's rifle, hold it in her hand.
10:05It's one of those, unfortunately, awkward designed handles where obviously the handle
10:08sort of encapsulates.
10:10There's a part that stretches around it and it makes it sort of self-contained.
10:13So you might actually find yourself having a harder time.
10:15But you know what?
10:16She holds it still pretty well.
10:19And a close-up look at the figure as well.
10:20Now, to show you guys what that looks like with the double hand, there goes the top of
10:25the peg.
10:26The one thing, though, about I've noticed, and you probably have seen this already for
10:29yourself, is that the top of the torso does attach then to the peg, which gives her actually
10:33quite a level of posability.
10:35But unfortunately, though, I've noticed that comes off a lot.
10:38But again, if you want to swap out the hands, we'll just unpeg this one hand.
10:42Do the same thing then on this side.
10:44And where's the double hand?
10:46Double hand was right over here.
10:47So we'll plug on one hand.
10:50And this is kind of a hard thing to pull off.
10:53Want to make sure, of course, yeah, we got to make sure we got it facing the right way.
10:56We'll plug it on this side first.
10:58So you attach it on the one side for the peg, bend the elbow, and then you have to kind
11:02of bend this hand so that we fit it then around the peg.
11:08Again, not the easiest thing to do, but it is something that can be pulled off.
11:12And then where's the pistol?
11:14Take the pistol.
11:15Pistol again fits into the top.
11:17I'm not putting it all the way in there, but at least it shows you guys what you can
11:21actually do with it.
11:23Very few companies actually entertain the idea of giving two hands molded together like
11:27that just makes things a whole lot easier when it comes to certainly displaying this
11:30figure on the shelf.
11:31Let's take the pegs.
11:33Unpeg them right now from the forearms.
11:35She does also have a watch.
11:37Now, the one thing about the watch, maybe this is the device, but this is a separate piece.
11:41And in fact, actually, both of these things are separate pieces.
11:44I think why they do this, though, it's probably the top of the gloves, is that you can slide
11:47then these off.
11:48And if you want to then use the regular bare hands, you would slide these off, take your
11:53human hands, even though, I mean, it's sort of odd to say me, me say human hands, but
11:58basically you would just slide, I guess, this glove piece off and then swap it out then
12:02instead so that she has a bare arm all the way down.
12:06We'll revisit this idea in a second as well, because we're going to be taking off the jacket
12:09in a second.
12:10But I think first things first, we also want to look at the head sculpts available as well,
12:14because Kasanagi does come included with three of them.
12:17Where's a good other hand we can hold on to for right now?
12:20Maybe we'll just put on these hands.
12:21Good enough.
12:22It's good enough.
12:23As for the head sculpts, though, that come included with Motoko, first of all, the figure
12:27does Motoko.
12:28The figure does have a neutral expression.
12:30Not a bad looking likeness of Kasanagi.
12:33One thing I would want to point out, though, is that if you look at the two head sculpts that
12:37she has, and I'm only using these as the example, because there's another one that you'll know
12:40right away isn't the same sort of expression.
12:43But I find like these heads are so similar to one another, I feel like they probably could
12:46have used the plastic for a different expression.
12:48Because any of you look at the face, maybe it's the fact that the bangs are a little
12:52bit different.
12:52Like you can see like the bangs drape a little bit further front on this head and doesn't
12:57do it as much on this portrait here.
12:59Again, I love the look of the purple hair.
13:02Very similar looking heads, though.
13:03Wouldn't you agree?
13:04Changing out the heads, by the way, is just a case of holding on to the torso.
13:08Detaching the head from the peg.
13:09There we go.
13:10Take the new head that we want to use.
13:12No, I'm not joking.
13:12It is the different head.
13:14Plug that, snap that back onto the ball joint.
13:17Snap the torso back in place.
13:19And now we've got Kasanagi down with the ultimate portrait.
13:22Now there's those three options, or you can also maybe entertain the idea that the figure
13:25does also have this face, which I actually really like.
13:29So much liking it, in fact, that I used it at the beginning of this review when she was
13:32rotating on the rotisserie.
13:34Now, you choose, obviously you can display the figure any which way that you want.
13:39Eventually, again, we'll be taking off the jacket in a second.
13:41I think, though, if I take the jacket off, I'm probably going to be keeping a portrait
13:45like this on, because it also works really well with her visor.
13:48The visor, like in the series, does fit over top of her face.
13:51Now, it is detachable.
13:53There's a peg right here, and just wrapping it around.
13:56On the other side, there's a peg right here, too.
13:57So you can actually lift up the visor, too.
14:00So let's just bring this up right now.
14:03And you sort of just want to rest it against the back of Kasanagi.
14:07There we go.
14:08And you can either have it displayed this way, or you can also bring the visor down.
14:12Now, the one thing, though, I kind of worry about when it comes to the visor is how much
14:15scraping is that doing against the purple plastic?
14:18Is that going to eventually, if you constantly are putting on the visor, if you're taking it
14:22off, will that eventually start to damage the side of the hair?
14:25Or it hasn't happened yet, but it is something, though, that's what I'm thinking about in
14:29the back of my mind.
14:30Now, again, like you can lift up the visor.
14:32So that's what she looks like with the visor up.
14:35Or again, you can have the visor down, which I think, again, works really well when you
14:39take the jacket off.
14:40I know this whole time, though, we've talked about taking the jacket off.
14:43Let's actually just take this off, or at least right now, we'll put it off to the side.
14:47So does the face look really good for Kasanagi?
14:49I think so.
14:50I think they've done a really nice job for it.
14:51It's a smaller figure, granted, than some of the exquisite super series that we've looked
14:55in the past, but I think the eyes are really pretty and large.
14:58Paint is handled really well here, too.
15:00I love the coloring of the purple that they chose.
15:02All in all, a really nice portrait, though, for Kasanagi.
15:06Now, for the rest of her body, there really isn't much clothing, to be fair.
15:09I mean, obviously, if you're familiar with the series, yeah, I mean, she's not sporting
15:13a whole lot of articles of clothing.
15:15Now, granted, though, the jacket does cover top over top of that.
15:17That is seeming to be using kind of an artificial leather material.
15:22Longevity of this, I mean, it's hard to really say, depending on, again, how you have your
15:26figures displayed.
15:27Humidity can always be a big contributor, obviously, to fabrics like this.
15:31Artificial fabrics flaking.
15:32I haven't had, honestly, any problems.
15:34Judge Dredd was one that we've also looked at here on this channel, the exquisite super
15:37series of Judge Dredd.
15:38I have yet to have any problems with the fabric that they gave him, nor, as you saw probably
15:42at the beginning of the review of the comparisons, I've had no issues so far with Negan's
15:46jacket, either.
15:47I love the look of the jacket.
15:49Got the snaps there on the side.
15:50Actually, she does have a couple of pockets there, too.
15:53The pockets, no, don't look like they can't hold anything.
15:56I mean, not that she really has anything small enough anyways.
15:59But, yeah, I just really think the jacket's handled really well.
16:02If you did want to take the jacket off, though, let's start first with taking off her hands.
16:06Now, you can also slide these off.
16:08The thing about it, though, is sliding anything small like this off.
16:11Make sure you put it in a place where you're going to know where it is.
16:13Don't just set it aside and think, I'll come back to that later.
16:16And if you don't know where that is, you won't come back later and find it.
16:20We'll just move the arms back a little bit.
16:23And then we'll just take the jacket off.
16:26One of the other concerns I also have, which, again, is, being that this is a newer figure,
16:30I don't think we're going to have this issue just yet, is, like, will this black eventually
16:33stain the body?
16:34Now, if the answer to that is, well, I have no plans, really, of ever displaying the figure
16:38without the jacket, then you really have nothing to worry about.
16:42If you have plans, though, that eventually you're going to want to take the jacket off
16:45of Kusanagi, yeah, maybe it is something that eventually will start to stain the figure.
16:50So we'll just, again, slide it down.
16:51This one sleeve always seems to be the one that plagues taking the jacket off the most.
16:56Maybe if I can get it off one side, shimmy it down on the other side of the arm.
17:01And just enough, again, once we get it really past the elbow, it's no issues after that.
17:09Again, we'll just kind of, there we go, just pull it completely off.
17:12You can see, though, that the interior of the jacket is stitched just as well as the
17:15outside.
17:16Nice looking jacket, really nice looking jacket.
17:18Put that off to the side.
17:19And then, of course, we have now Motoko, which she looks like, with the jacket off.
17:23Now, it's going to make no sense, obviously, if we don't get some hands put back on her,
17:27so that we'll get the regular relaxed hands on her.
17:30We're now doing away with the fingerless gloves, so we'll just take those off.
17:33We'll replace them then with these hands.
17:35There we go.
17:36And we'll look at Kusanagi now without the jacket.
17:39It's a good looking figure.
17:41I mean, like, whether you have the jacket on or you choose to have it off, I think
17:44proportionally, like, she's got a really nice looking body to her.
17:47The thing, though, about it, as you probably have already seen a couple of times, is that
17:50the top of the torso frequently does fall off.
17:53The ball joint sure still works.
17:54Nothing is really broken on the figure.
17:55But with the way that she has the amount of flexibility to the top of her torso and, like,
18:00everything else underneath it, this does fall off a little too frequently.
18:04But again, it's not that it's broken.
18:06It's just something that you're going to have to constantly put back in place.
18:10Now, again, like, with this figure having as much poseability points as she has, it loses,
18:14though, some of the illusion because, obviously, there's not as much of a seamless body.
18:17You can see very clearly now with the jacket off all the visible joints that she has at
18:21her disposal.
18:21But still, though, the figure has quite a lot.
18:24I like that the color that they've used for the purple carries its way also down to the
18:27belt and down below here for the legs.
18:29It's subtle, but you can see, too, that they've also airbrushed some areas around her legs,
18:33the top of the thigh there as well.
18:35Just a really nice looking figure.
18:37I was actually kind of surprised to see, too, that the boots are encased.
18:41If you bend the feet up and down like this, you can see, though, that inside this,
18:45there is an ankle joint.
18:47I kind of really was expecting that there was no ankle articulation.
18:50But, in fact, I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was.
18:53And then on the bottom, the figure doesn't have any pegels on bottoms of her feet.
18:55I don't feel like she necessarily needs it either.
18:58For Motoko's articulation, the head sculpt is going to be on a ball joint, so it allows
19:01the head to rotate all the way around.
19:03The head can look up and down easily enough and back and forth, too.
19:06The figure doesn't have any additional poseability down below below the neck.
19:10I don't think it necessarily needs it either, just because, again, it gives...
19:13I think it would lose a little something, especially right here, that I think, if anything,
19:17you want to maintain the sculpt without breaking it up with a neck joint.
19:20Plus two.
19:21Like, there's enough that the head can do on its own.
19:23I don't think it needs really anything down below in the neck.
19:25As for the arms, they rotate all the way around.
19:28She does also have a joint that allows the shoulders to move in and out.
19:32So there's some additional poseability there as well.
19:34The figure does have a swivel here for the bicep, a double hinge on the elbow, and the hands
19:39rotate all the way around.
19:41The top of the torso, as we've already seen, does have a ball joint.
19:44Periodically, though, frequently, in fact.
19:46As you're rotating it, it does pop off.
19:49So, again, you'll find yourself doing this.
19:51You just plug it back down the ball joint.
19:53The lower abdomen doesn't seem to have as much of that issue.
19:56It does the same, really, as the top of the torso, but maybe there's just things in the way.
20:01Down below, though, again, we've got the abdomen, ball joint working really, really hard,
20:05and, again, gives her quite a bit of flexibility.
20:07The legs do split.
20:08Now, I find, though, you can also drop the legs down, and it gives her a much better split.
20:13So, again, you can bring them out a full, almost a full flat split.
20:18Just, though, when you bring the legs down, you're going to notice there's a gap.
20:20You're just going to pop them back in place.
20:22Legs move forward.
20:23Legs move back.
20:25There is a swivel, and the swivel is concealed just below the band of the leg.
20:29So you can see right there, it rotates.
20:31The figure does have a good, generous ball joint there, or a secondary double-hinged joint,
20:35I would say, in the knee.
20:37No articulation here for the front calf guard, but, again, surprised that she did have an
20:41ankle pivot, which moves up and down, and an ankle rocker back and forth.
20:45I think for the sake of displaying this figure on the shelf, I might choose right now, at
20:49least, to have her displayed, maybe without the leather jacket, maybe put the visor over
20:53the top of her head, which, again, like, we just want to be careful, bring this down.
20:57I wonder that maybe what they ended up doing was, maybe certain hair works a little bit
21:01better with the visor.
21:02I'm looking at, though, the thickness of the hair.
21:07I don't know why this one seems to work a little bit better than this one when it comes
21:09to, like, having the visor down, but, again, I'm going to have, probably, Kosanagi with
21:14the visor on top of her head like that, which, again, just get it over top of the front of
21:18her face, and hope, if anything, that nothing gets scraped in the process, and then have
21:22her displayed, then, with the rifle after that.
21:25Loved Ghost in the Shell as a kid.
21:26Well, I would have been, for me, in my high school days, when Ghost in the Shell came out,
21:31because it came out, like, early 90s.
21:33Since then, though, I've been a big fan of the franchise.
21:36Again, like, now we've got Stand Alone Complex, and the fact that now we have ourselves a
21:40figure from Hayatoys.
21:40There's a lot that definitely did go into the production here of Kosanagi.
21:44She does have, again, like, a couple of different head portraits available, which, again, like,
21:47I feel like this head sculpt is so close to resembling the one that we now end up wrapping
21:51this review with.
21:52I feel like they probably could have then spent the plastic and produced something a
21:56little bit different.
21:57Then again, we've also got ourselves the Screaming Portrait, which, again, I think would work
22:00really well if they give her the firearm, putting the jacket back in place.
22:04Again, she has the jacket.
22:05She has herself, again, the pistol, the rifle, and even a knife as well.
22:10Tons of swappable hands.
22:11It's a great-looking figure.
22:12Now, she is right now, as a pre-order, showing and listing online as being $89.99.
22:17I would imagine, though, that fans of the franchise, fans of Ghost in the Shell, are probably
22:20going to want to be tracking down Kosanagi, because she looks just as good in hand as
22:24she did online.
22:26Wrapping up now the review for Kosanagi Motoko, there's one less thing that's wrapped around
22:29the figure.
22:30Yeah, her leather jacket.
22:31It isn't so much, though, leather.
22:32It seems more like it's an artificial material.
22:35The one thing that isn't so much the issue is taking off the jacket.
22:38One, though, that's a bigger issue, maybe down the road, is whether that fabric jacket
22:41will, in fact, stain the fair-skinned plastic on Kosanagi.
22:45It's only one thing that time will only tell, depending on, again, how much conditions of humidity
22:48you have where you keep a lot of your collectibles, I've had some collectibles that haven't stained
22:53at all.
22:53And then I've had other ones that, unfortunately, have left behind a little bit of the stain
22:57with the way they've dyed the material.
22:59It does, though, look like, from the inside of the jacket, that they've added, like, a liner.
23:03Now, I don't know if the liner is there to help protect the stain from eventually finding
23:06onto the plastic.
23:07Again, it's one of those things that you'll only really know if you've had this figure
23:11on the shelf for a long period of time.
23:12And every once in a while, though, you take the jacket off just to see if anything's been
23:16left behind, leaving, though, behind what I've got right now displaying the figure.
23:19I've got not the jacket on, but she's displayed right now, at least with a rifle, without the
23:23silencer and the knife in the other.
23:25The cool touch, though, is to include also the visor that has a hingeable front face.
23:29So at any given point, if you don't like it covering over the front of her face, you
23:32can just easily hinge the visor up.
23:35One thing I do like is that they included the visor.
23:37I do sort of question why, though, Hi-Toys included three head sculpts when two of those three
23:43look so similar to one another.
23:44I feel like maybe, if anything, they probably could have maybe used a third head portrait
23:48that had a completely different expression.
23:50At least one of them has that, which is a great expression to display with the figure.
23:54Now, when it comes to just sort of the assembly of the way that she's constructed, time to
23:58time, more times than not, you'll find like the top of the torso does detach from the ball
24:02joint.
24:03It's a simple enough fix that you just attach it back in place.
24:06But you'll find, though, as you kind of move the figure around, the arms isn't so much
24:09the issue, nor is the legs.
24:10But as you move the top of the torso, you'll find, again, the top does separate frequently
24:15from the bottom half of the body.
24:17Right now, though, Kusanagi Motoko is showing online as being a pre-order, with the listing
24:21being $89.99.
24:23So she's about a $90 figure.
24:25It doesn't necessarily say, though, when the pre-order is going to drop.
24:28I can't tell, though, whether it's going to be dropping at the end of this year.
24:31It would be perfect, though, if she could drop sometime during December.
24:34So if fans and collectors of Ghost in the Shell merchandise could then get their hands
24:38on Kusanagi, maybe as a Christmas gift for somebody else, or, hey, why not?
24:42Even a Christmas gift for themselves.
24:43A big thank you again to the folks over at Hayatoys that did provide this sample of the
24:47brand new Hayatoys Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex Exquisite Super Series Kusanagi Motoko
24:52that we had the chance to have a look at this review.
