00:00 Mezco's got five little monsters with five different movements.
00:04 Here's a look at the brand new Mezco toys, Five Point Mezco Monsters Tower of Fear.
00:16 What you're looking at by the way is simply just the top of the box.
00:20 Let me just take the camera and pan all the way down.
00:23 There's the bottom of the box right there.
00:25 This is quite a substantially large box that we're going to be opening up in a second.
00:29 Might be one of those hard things that I wouldn't be able to get it on a turntable, but I did
00:32 certainly guys want to show you what the box looks like before we open this up.
00:36 Finally had arrived, I did order this over at Entertainment Earth.
00:39 If you guys are certainly interested in getting one for yourself, I provide the link down
00:43 below in the video description.
00:44 If it is still in stock, you can also save yourself 10% using the affiliate code.
00:49 The box itself, if I can actually just show you guys what it looks like here from the
00:52 side, it's a pretty substantially large box.
00:56 We flip around to the back, you can see what will be the Tower of Fear inside.
01:01 Standing at a monstrous 15 inches, once assembled, the retro play set diorama creates a decaying
01:07 Carpathian castle with three floors, dungeon main hall and Frankenstein's lab.
01:14 It's all read up.
01:15 That's a read up by the way down below here.
01:18 Some of the monsters as you can see are going to be contained inside such as the sea creature,
01:21 the werewolf, Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and the mummy.
01:26 The box does have some adhesive here to the side or a seal to keep everything closed.
01:30 We're going to have to open that up and obviously check that out in a second.
01:34 Some assembly again will be required to put this all together.
01:37 I have been extremely excited the idea of actually finally getting this in hand.
01:41 I wasn't as necessarily impressed with the five point Chucky that we had recently had
01:46 a look at.
01:47 I kind of like the idea of being able to take parts apart on Chucky, be able to mix and
01:51 match them around, but I thought the figure itself was sort of a little underwhelming.
01:55 The Mezco's monsters on the other hand, if it has anything just to do with the box alone
02:00 and the image that they show on the back for the actual Tower of Fear, I think it's going
02:04 to be a pretty cool looking setup.
02:06 So what I'm going to do is I'm going to get this very large box, like I said, we're going
02:09 to get this all opened up and I'll do my best to put the tower together.
02:12 And of course, when we come back, we'll get a closer look at the Tower of Fear.
02:17 Well that was not as fun as I was hoping.
02:19 To help aid with whatever struggles you may have, and you're going to have quite a lot
02:22 of struggles putting this thing together, you get yourself what I think to be is one
02:25 of the vaguest set of instructions ever to come in clue with something that has to be
02:29 put together.
02:30 If you look at the steps provided by Mezco, they're vague.
02:34 You're trying to do your best to figure out exactly what you're doing from step to step
02:38 to step.
02:39 And a lot of times, especially at the table area, I had no idea what was going on.
02:45 They're vague and they're not clear enough really.
02:47 Like for example, when you install the balcony, they give you just an image of a rectangle,
02:53 not enough to really convey exactly which way the balcony is supposed to go.
02:56 You'll see what I mean in a second.
02:58 And it's only one sheet too, so it really needed to be fleshed out a little bit more.
03:03 Colored images certainly would have helped.
03:04 I ended up having to even go online and check images of the Mezco Tower of Fear, just so
03:10 I had some idea of what this thing was supposed to look like when it was all finished.
03:14 But again, other than just really the vagueness of the instructions, there's some assembly
03:18 issues when it came to putting this all set together.
03:21 I suppose before we actually look at the actual tower, let's look at some of the mini figures
03:25 that come included with this.
03:27 Now I'm going to hold these all up individually so you guys can see what's all going on here.
03:30 I will say, like the mini figures, the five point figures are the best things going for
03:35 this set.
03:36 The actual tower itself isn't bad, but it does have a few little problems to it.
03:40 The first thing we get is Dracula.
03:43 Longer haired Dracula, as you can see, he's sporting a very long mustache there as well.
03:47 I like the coloring on all of these figures.
03:49 All of them, by the way, as well, come included with display stands.
03:52 The stands almost seem as if they do have varying size of pegs, because this one doesn't
03:57 fit necessarily Dracula, but it fits okay Frankenstein's monster.
04:01 You'll get some of them, for example, like the mummy will have smaller peg holes in the
04:04 underside of his feet, so it doesn't look like the stands are universally sized.
04:09 As an example though, I'm just going to grab the mummy, and just to hold up the two, you
04:12 can see, like, mummy's got notably a smaller peg.
04:16 Why could they not have just given us all the exact same display stand with all the
04:20 same peg?
04:21 Why did we have to even overcomplicate just the acrylic stands alone?
04:25 Move that to the side.
04:28 But though, back to Dracula though, like all of these will have five points of articulation.
04:32 Detailed pretty good, I mean, as well, for something so small like this, I think they're
04:35 really well painted too.
04:37 All of them, again, are very limited when it comes to articulation, so really all of
04:40 them is just swiveling in the head.
04:42 Dracula can't really move much in the way of his head anyways.
04:45 You can rotate his arm all the way around, and the legs move back and forth there as
04:48 well.
04:49 He's got a really nice looking jacket there too, on the back there's nicely painted there
04:53 too.
04:54 Now, all of them also come included with accessories.
04:57 Dracula just happens to come with what looks to be a transformation into a bat.
05:01 It looks like also something you'd expect to see from Swamp Thing.
05:04 This just, as far as I know, fits over top of his head.
05:07 I thought initially you'd have to probably take the head off first, but it looks like
05:10 the bat cowl piece literally just fits over top of his body.
05:14 Doesn't it look like something we'd see from an old Swamp Thing toy line from Kenner?
05:18 I like the bat, I think the additional having the transformation of the bat is also a nice
05:22 touch for Dracula.
05:24 And any one of these obviously can be fit on top of the tower, anywhere that you really
05:27 want to put them.
05:28 Dracula doesn't really come with any other accessories that I can see.
05:31 All the other ones seem to be designated for all the other characters, the other four monsters.
05:36 But yeah, nice looking Dracula.
05:38 He's not my favorite though from this set.
05:40 Up next, let's go ahead and just take a Wolfman off his display stand.
05:44 Again, it's small peg on this one, large peg on the other display stand.
05:48 Okay, I'll stop talking about the display stands.
05:51 Wolfman though is a nice looking figure.
05:53 I would imagine he does have nards, I'm not going to bother to check though.
05:56 The detailing on his face is really nicely done here.
05:58 You've got the teeth, both top and bottom painted very nicely in white.
06:02 Love the yellow eyes that they've given him.
06:03 And they've given him a really good stance too.
06:05 Although this one does really require his display stand, even though he does have the
06:09 articulation where it counts, the feet unfortunately will always be posed in such a way that the
06:13 figure requires a display stand.
06:15 And again, they'll just plug into the undersides of Wolfman's feet.
06:19 Nice looking figure though.
06:20 I even like the little tiny tie that they've given him as well.
06:23 Ripped open shirt, ripped pants, as well as a few little rips in his jacket there as well.
06:28 Yeah, just a really nice looking figure.
06:31 Now Wolfman comes in clear with a couple of accessories.
06:34 I believe this to be his.
06:35 It may very well also belong to maybe like the mummy.
06:38 But he comes with a skull, nicely painted skull.
06:41 He also comes in clear with a couple of bones.
06:45 I'm not a doctor.
06:46 I only play one on TV, so I can't quite tell you exactly what bones these belong to.
06:50 But he comes with a little tiny small broken bone, and he comes with a much larger one.
06:56 My dog used to love bones.
06:57 I don't know if really bones is a safe thing to be giving dogs, but Wolfman apparently
07:02 loves bones.
07:03 So that's the Wolfman.
07:04 And again, we'll go ahead and get him back onto his display stand.
07:07 We'll just plug him on the bottom of here.
07:09 There we go.
07:10 If anything, even if I don't have a place to really store the Tower of Fear, I would
07:14 definitely like to have the figures displayed of the actual Wolfman and the rest of the
07:19 monsters, of course.
07:20 Next one, another one of my personal favorites.
07:22 We've got Frankenstein's monster.
07:23 They've given him a furry tunic this time around, roll up sleeves, stitches all nicely
07:28 done here in his arms.
07:30 He looks to be almost like he's got a little bolt there in his hands, something that you
07:33 don't expect to see with Frankenstein.
07:36 And a nice overall head sculpt for Frankenstein's monster too.
07:40 Now there is a little hitter hitting Easter egg or Easter brain as it would be.
07:45 You just take the top part of his head off and you can see exposed underneath is Frankenstein's
07:50 brain.
07:51 Just don't lose that.
07:53 However you do, there is a peg hole right at the top of the brain.
07:56 And then there's a peg at the top of his helmet.
07:59 And that just basically fits in place.
08:01 Just again, whatever you do, don't lose it.
08:04 Really detailed figure though.
08:05 He's got the big clunker shoes there.
08:07 Again the articulation on all of these is just five points.
08:10 Five points articulation.
08:11 That's why they're called five points after all.
08:13 So you could really have Frankenstein sitting down if you want to.
08:17 Really nice looking figure though on him.
08:19 Up next, we also get ourselves a creature.
08:23 The creature from the Black Lagoon or the equivalent of that, the Gill Man.
08:27 I don't know if I love the idea that they decided to give him sort of more of a metallic
08:30 finish.
08:32 It's certainly something that does stand out, but I think if anything the colors are
08:35 maybe a little bit too blue.
08:37 Maybe if it had only been green or if had they just only just painted it simply just
08:42 in green alone and not decided to go metallic, it still is a nice looking detailed figure.
08:47 Very nice sculpt.
08:48 I love the little gills.
08:49 I don't know if those would be gills.
08:50 They would basically be like fins I suppose on the sides of his body.
08:53 He's got it also down the sides of his legs there as well.
08:56 Pegs on the underside of course of his feet.
08:57 So those plug into his display stand.
09:00 This guy doesn't have as much articulation.
09:02 I thought actually his head would be able to rotate.
09:04 Oh, maybe it does.
09:05 Just really tight on this figure.
09:06 So it swivels more back and forth than anything else.
09:09 And you know, well, swivels up here.
09:11 It would normally now.
09:13 You get the idea.
09:14 So the arms do also swivel all the way around.
09:16 You can also move the legs back and forth there too.
09:19 Nice creature.
09:20 Another one that I'm also a big fan of here is the mummy who just happens to be off to
09:24 the side.
09:25 The mummy is again very nicely detailed.
09:28 You got the little bandages wrapped across the entire front of his face.
09:31 Speaking of his face though, he has one of the most interesting looking mummy faces I've
09:34 seen in a long time.
09:36 Tiny little beads of white.
09:38 You got the little exposed teeth there as well.
09:41 Bandages again really nicely painted on this guy.
09:43 He doesn't have the same level of articulation.
09:46 Not to the point where you can actually swivel the guy's legs forward and back.
09:49 This leg actually only rotates this way.
09:52 So you wouldn't be able to get like a marching stance.
09:54 You certainly wouldn't be able to sit down the mummy.
09:57 He's only going to be rotating this way in his leg.
09:59 And this leg actually is the one that rotates just a little bit better.
10:02 Arms again, you can turn on this and you can also rotate the head as well.
10:06 I would say like mummy, wolfman and Frankenstein's monster are my favorite of the ones that come
10:11 in clear with the Tower of Fear.
10:14 All of this time, by the way, I forgot to really look at the other accessories.
10:17 So like Frankenstein's monster backing up just a little bit, Frankenstein does come
10:21 in clear with a little block.
10:22 Now the block does shackle onto the side of his leg.
10:26 Those clips on like that so you can actually have the monster contained.
10:30 I prefer to really have all the lab stuff on the top floor.
10:33 Obviously, that's where the lightning is going to be coming down anyways.
10:35 So you can have Frankenstein's monster up there shackled onto the big concrete cinder
10:40 block and then just attached.
10:41 You know, again, you could just have that sitting on the shelf if you want to.
10:44 As for the Gill-Man, Gill-Man comes included with this, these wrapped up, I guess little
10:49 swamp leaves.
10:51 And you can just take those and it's not necessarily a rhyme or a reason for how you want to have
10:56 these displayed.
10:57 You basically just drape them over top of his body like that.
10:59 And then he has like a little slightly smaller one.
11:03 And if you unravel it, it's just basically one long piece.
11:07 And that just, again, there's no real rhyme or reason.
11:10 You can just drape that around his arm if you want to and just have it like that.
11:14 The other thing that also Gill-Man comes included with is what I'm guessing to be the skull
11:18 of one of his former species.
11:20 Very nicely painted though as well.
11:23 You can't swap it out or anything like that.
11:24 You can't take off the existing head and no, you can't do anything like that.
11:27 But really nice looking skull nonetheless.
11:30 And then the last thing for Mummy, Mummy actually seems to get the most of the accessories.
11:35 First of all, he comes included with a little tiny King Cobra.
11:38 Love the look of the King Cobra.
11:40 No articulation, nothing that really actually moves on the snake.
11:43 You get as well, I'm guessing this to be a cursed scroll.
11:47 Isn't that the only kind of scrolls mummies really have, cursed scrolls?
11:51 Comes with that.
11:52 He also comes included with a necklace piece.
11:55 Now the necklace doesn't really fit very well over his head.
11:59 I mean, you'd have to kind of take the head off, I think, and just wiggle this back and
12:03 forth.
12:04 I haven't yet actually done this, but I would imagine just like the necklace, oops, I just
12:08 dropped it.
12:09 I would imagine necklace would just fit over the top of his head.
12:11 You'd have to take off though the head in order to do that.
12:13 And then he also comes included with tiny little trinkets that you probably would find
12:17 inside his sarcophagus.
12:19 Spells, curses.
12:22 We still keep talking about curses.
12:24 Probably tiny little things that he could carry around, little vials, maybe ashes of
12:27 some of his former family members.
12:29 I don't know.
12:30 You get a couple of those also as well.
12:32 And again, like I said, you come included with these display stands.
12:35 So those are the actual monsters.
12:37 Like I said though, the assembly of the Tower of Fear was difficult.
12:41 Not more difficult in the sense that there was just too much to put together.
12:44 There really wasn't, but with the instructions being as vague as it was, let's just slide
12:48 everything out of the way here.
12:50 The instructions being as vague as it was, it really was hard to kind of deduce exactly
12:53 what Mezco Toys exactly wanted me to do.
12:56 I mean, I'm looking at the instructions and even if you struggle with even just the first
13:02 two steps, the first step involves taking the two columns.
13:06 These columns are already installed, so you don't have to worry about it.
13:08 Well, everything is built in the sense that you don't have to start pulling things off
13:12 of cardboard trays, you know, taking out the little extra pieces that remain behind.
13:17 I mean, everything, like I said, as soon as you open up the box, everything is there.
13:21 You take the towers, the towers slide through this level of the floor.
13:25 You then attach the towers to the bottom side of the top of the floor, and then that basically
13:30 fits then into the bottom of the base here too.
13:32 So like that's everything that kind of keeps the tower together.
13:35 Where you really then start to struggle is, I found it was even difficult just right around
13:40 here because you do also get these, let me spin this to the side so you guys can see,
13:45 you get these little plastic cobweb pieces that are actually there very good to keep
13:50 everything in together because it'll take the floors and it'll attach it to the back
13:54 side of the castle and then everything will kind of be a little bit more stable together.
14:00 Other assembly that was required also was that, and again I find this was kind of a
14:04 little ridiculous that they would have to install things like this or they would have
14:08 to include things like this where you would be told it by the instructions.
14:11 Well you have to take this part and you take this part and you have to slide the two together.
14:18 Could they not have, I guess they did it because everything has to lay flat inside the box,
14:22 but you're literally just taking the electrodes and they have to be slid into the back of
14:26 the units here.
14:27 There are also these holes there on the front that you get yourself an extra wire.
14:31 The wire, if you plug this into the front and then you take yourself Frankenstein's
14:35 monster who I just happen to have still shackled off to the side here, there is a hole on the
14:39 back of the figure's neck that you can take the wire and then plug it right in.
14:43 So I think that was kind of a neat touch there as well.
14:45 So you have to take the electrodes, plug it into that side.
14:48 You also get a smaller little lab, I don't know what you call that, like a little lab
14:54 equipment piece.
14:55 This also again, you have to take the electrode and slide it also there as well.
14:59 So those aren't the hardest things.
15:01 I'll tell you though, here's the things I had the most difficulty with and if you've
15:05 picked this up for yourself you guys can let me know as well if you've had similar issues.
15:09 Is first of all the lab table.
15:11 The lab table from what I'm understanding here and looking at the instructions, I think
15:15 is missing something.
15:16 I also checked online and from what I've seen from other reviews, it seems like across the
15:22 board or across the table, all the lab table was missing.
15:26 So this part of the table, which it says operating table base plugs onto the bottom of the table
15:32 bed.
15:33 You don't get this part.
15:34 What you do get instead is you get this part that's supposed to, I'm guessing, attach to
15:38 the side of the actual tower, but it doesn't look like it attaches to anything.
15:43 There's nothing that I can see unless it's supposed to attach onto the lab table.
15:48 The table is maybe the thing that kind of keeps everything together.
15:50 And then you get this piece here.
15:53 And again, there's nothing that really attaches.
15:55 If you were to look at the instructions, it says operating table base plugs onto bottom
16:00 of table bed.
16:02 And without again realizing that you are missing one of the table beds, you're just looking
16:07 at these two pieces and you're like, well, what am I supposed to do with this?
16:10 There's nothing that connects the two together.
16:13 So what I ended up doing again, I looked online and the only thing I'm seeing online is the
16:17 fact that this extends out on the side of the actual tower, but there's nothing to keep
16:22 it in place.
16:23 Nothing, nothing at all.
16:24 So what I'm just doing for the right now, at least, is I'm going to take this piece and
16:28 I just kind of keep this kind of just resting underneath it.
16:32 And it's just going to kind of hold, it gives us just a serviceable table, at least for
16:36 right now.
16:37 I don't know even know if Mezco has got any plans whatsoever to replace those people that
16:41 are replaced that missing tabletop for collectors that had picked up the fear tower for themselves
16:47 and maybe didn't get the chance because I'm guessing the tower of fear, all of them are
16:52 missing this one component piece.
16:54 The other thing that I had a hard time with, let's just spin the tower around.
16:58 Don't worry, I'll show you guys what the tower looks like on both sides here.
17:02 Here's the other side, by the way, here's the front section.
17:06 And going back just to the instructions, the balcony, the balcony right here, it says extended
17:11 tab on balcony slides into slot in window.
17:15 If you were to look at this, and I've seen some other videos where these were actually
17:18 put in incorrectly.
17:20 This is the balcony right here, but the way it slots in place, first of all, unfortunately,
17:24 I did rip it trying to slot this in because you have that much space to work with and
17:28 you have that much tab to work with.
17:30 You could have either put it in so that if, for example, you could have it have had it
17:36 like this.
17:37 So again, it would have slotted in this way, but then I thought, okay, well, that's good
17:41 if you want to have Dracula resting on top of it.
17:43 But the fact that they call it a balcony implies for me, at least the fact that someone would
17:48 be able to sit inside of it and it is actually printed.
17:51 Let me just tip this.
17:52 I'm going to knock everything off in the process.
17:55 If you look at the inside of it, it is actually a finished inside balcony, which led me to
18:00 think, okay, well, maybe the balcony is supposed to go the opposite way.
18:03 Again, you'd really, really never be able to tell that based on just the instructions
18:07 alone.
18:08 With the way that the balcony, at least I've got it now, is that you can take yourself
18:11 a character and sit him inside the balcony.
18:13 You wouldn't be able to do that if it was the other way around.
18:16 I guess you could do it both ways.
18:18 If you wanted to have it more like a platform, you could then have the character sitting
18:21 on top of that, standing on top of the platform.
18:23 I prefer just to have it more so like a balcony.
18:26 Okay, so let's move everything out of the way.
18:29 The other thing that the tower comes also included with is all these extra pieces.
18:35 If literally to look at the instruction sheet, you're thinking, well, how am I going to install
18:39 these?
18:40 Do they have a tab?
18:41 No, they don't.
18:42 What they have instead is the instructions that you're supposed to just take these.
18:46 Where is it right here?
18:49 Somewhere down here.
18:50 Oh, all stone display pieces, which would be then of course these parts right here,
18:55 all stone display pieces can be folded and assembled onto the ground floor using double
18:59 sided tape.
19:01 That's all you're supposed to do.
19:02 You're just supposed to fold this down and you're supposed to adhere this to the floor.
19:07 Could they not have come with something, even if they had just taken the idea of what they
19:11 did with the cobwebs, so the little cobweb clips that kind of keep everything together.
19:15 Why couldn't they have something used something similar like that?
19:17 Just have a little resting clip where these could have stood upright on their own.
19:21 I don't want to start to think that I have to incorporate now tape into this.
19:24 I don't want to add anything to cardboard because if you ever change your mind down
19:29 the road and you want to remove these double sided tape, double sided tape is some of the
19:33 weakest adhesive you can use, but still I would imagine it probably would cause damage
19:37 to the cardboard.
19:38 So you get this one, you get one that has a skull and then you get a little slightly
19:42 smaller one.
19:43 All of them work the same way.
19:44 According to the instructions, you're supposed to fold the flap down.
19:47 You're supposed to literally just take double sided tape and stick them to the tower of
19:50 fear.
19:51 I'm not going to do that.
19:52 I don't want to do that.
19:53 I'm going to stick them to the tower.
19:54 The last couple of things I did also want to show you guys as well is that there's a
19:58 couple of sarcophaguses, sarcophagi.
20:01 One of them is actually specifically designed for the mummy.
20:04 All again, these are done with laminated cardboard.
20:07 The inside looks nice.
20:08 You got again, like some hieroglyphics on the inside of that.
20:11 You can take yourself the mummy, which I just happen to have off to the side here.
20:14 Take yourself the mummy.
20:15 The mummy can sit inside the sarcophagus.
20:17 You can keep the sarcophagus partially opened if you want to, or you can also close it up
20:21 completely.
20:22 I suppose there's enough space that you can have it on the second floor.
20:25 You can also have it down on the first floor also as well.
20:28 And then also there's a coffin.
20:31 So basically the coffin looks to be the exact same folded up piece of cardboard other than
20:36 just printed a little bit differently.
20:38 And this of course will then store Dracula.
20:40 Whether you decide you want to have the figure displayed with the vampire part on top of
20:44 his body or not, you can take then Dracula and sit him inside the coffin as well.
20:50 So you can have a couple of figures displayed that way if you want to.
20:54 One other thing too, let's just move all these out of the way.
20:58 Move this out of the way as well.
20:59 And we'll just grab this.
21:01 The last other thing here, I'll just pick up the tower so you guys can see, there was
21:04 also a stairwell.
21:06 The stairwell is one thing, again, you don't have to fold up any of these pieces, which
21:09 is a good thing.
21:10 I'm glad to see that you don't have to like start folding things up, which was really
21:13 my biggest worry too when I was going to be getting the Tower of Fear.
21:16 I thought, okay, is it just going to be like flat pieces of cardboard I'm going to have
21:18 to all fold up?
21:19 No, everything luckily at least is already assembled for you.
21:23 And then the stairwell, at least from the instructions, the stairwell basically just
21:27 tucks in like this.
21:29 And now you've got yourself a series of steps to take you then to the second floor.
21:34 Okay, so let's kind of get a good closer look at what's going on here with the Tower of
21:38 Fear.
21:39 You've got a little moat area there, it looks to be big giant leeches.
21:44 And you also got yourself a little sewer grate there in the back.
21:47 Of course, you got yourself a stairwell that's going to take you up to the second floor.
21:51 Up on the second floor, there seems to be there a portrait of Vlad the Impaler, a couple
21:56 of candelabras.
21:57 There's also the window.
21:59 And again, like for what it is, if to go in this expecting high expectations like this
22:04 being made of plastic, you're going to obviously be a little bit more disappointed that it's
22:08 just literally made out of cardboard.
22:10 But I think for the cardboard and the fact that you're getting already figures along
22:13 with this, I think this set cost me and set me back about $89.
22:16 So I don't think it's super expensive.
22:18 I mean, some would say like $89 is pretty high.
22:21 But considering you get as many figures as you get, if you were not just to include the
22:25 tower, I think the figures probably on their own could have sold for about $50, the set
22:28 of five.
22:29 So the fact that you actually get yourself something that you could put on display, isn't
22:34 terrible.
22:35 The second floor, I don't know what it was that getting this out of the box, it was bent
22:39 right here, you probably can already see there's still a crease left behind.
22:43 This was bent.
22:44 It doesn't seem the way that they actually stored it inside the box.
22:47 There's enough space inside the box to lay everything flat.
22:50 And yet, unfortunately, the second floor got, as you can see a little on the war warp side.
22:55 Again, you're going to take your pillar and the pillar runs, attaches down below here,
23:00 runs all the way straight through here.
23:01 So you're going to attach the pillars first of all to the first floor, and then those
23:05 will then attach the inside of then the second floor.
23:09 And of course, it's going to attach down below here.
23:10 So everything is generally quite stable.
23:12 You almost even can hold the tower just by the pillars and post alone.
23:18 Here's a couple of those little clips that are onto the side.
23:21 So you clip the side of the floor to this part, and then this obviously will then clip
23:25 to the side of the main wall.
23:27 On the main floor though, of course, this is the section where you're going to be storing
23:30 all the stuff for Frankenstein.
23:32 So again, you've got yourself the little, you know, the lab equipment that's all going
23:36 to go to the back with the electrodes.
23:38 But not to mask anything, there's actually some nice little writing there on the back
23:42 of the wall.
23:43 You've got some books, some elixirs, it looks like to be also a little jar of eyeballs and
23:48 brains.
23:49 Really nice stuff going on there.
23:51 To flip this also around so you guys can see, I know we kind of already looked at this a
23:55 little bit, there's a little monster there sticking his way out the front of the wall,
23:59 a little claw.
24:00 I love a little bit of blood that they've also got there as well.
24:04 One of the other things too is that some have complained that Mezco kind of misled or misrepresented
24:10 really what this tower was going to look like.
24:12 I mean, if you look at the images online, there are a few sections like where the window
24:15 looks like it's a completely finished window.
24:17 Instead, these basically just all cardboard cutouts so that the characters can then of
24:21 course walk their way through.
24:23 I don't think I'm again that disappointed by the fact that I was misrepresented or misled
24:28 for what the actual tower ended up being.
24:30 The tower looks good and, you know, again, for being a cardboard piece, my biggest issue
24:34 I would say isn't so much the fact it's made out of cardboard, it's the fact that the instructions
24:39 were terrible.
24:40 I mean, again, like just to bring back in the instructions, the instructions aren't
24:44 clear enough at all and especially for the fact that not going in there knowing that
24:48 something was missing.
24:49 When you get to step 10 and you get to step 11, you'd be completely lost as to where exactly
24:53 stuff is supposed to go.
24:54 I still don't know where that side extension is supposed to go because there's nothing
24:59 that I'm guessing that the lab table is the thing that sort of brings everything together.
25:04 And without having that one crucial piece that's required, it is sort of as a just a
25:08 standalone side piece.
25:11 Speaking of side pieces though, that's a weird segue.
25:14 Speaking of side pieces though, by far my favorite thing though is the actual monsters
25:17 and the idea that you can take yourself to little monsters and you can of course put
25:20 Frankenstein's monster up there if you want to.
25:22 You could put the wolfman here.
25:23 I mean, you can put them any which way that you want.
25:26 You've got at least a nice little display piece where you can actually put the pieces.
25:29 Have you had the chance to pick up the Tower of Fear?
25:32 And let me know down below in the comments section if you liked it or if you've also
25:36 been a little bit disappointed by it.
25:37 I would say though, I'm not disappointed picking this up.
25:40 I'm actually rather happy that I have now something I could put on the shelf.
25:43 I am a bummed, yes, that it is missing something.
25:46 I'm also equally frustrated the fact that it took me as long to put everything together
25:49 because the instructions were as bad as they were.
25:52 But at the end of it, you do get yourself some nice looking figures that can be put
25:55 on the display.
25:57 And you also have yourself a rather interesting looking way of displaying those five figures.
26:02 What do you guys though think of the Mezgos Monsters Tower of Fear deluxe box sets?
26:06 Again, if you guys are interested, this one I think is still available.
26:09 I grabbed this one over at Entertainment Earth.
26:10 It was just a little over $80.
26:13 One good thing as well is if you guys did want to use the link that's provided in the
26:16 video description, that link will also save you 10% on anything that's over on their
26:20 site, whether that be the case of getting the Tower of Fear or if it's anything else
26:23 over on their site, it'll save you 10%.
26:25 So 89 or a little over 80 for the price that they were asking for the set.
26:29 You can sort of offset that just a little bit.
26:32 If you guys though in the meantime did enjoy this video, I want to throw it a like.
26:34 If you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing and you certainly would like to
26:37 stick around for more, if you haven't already done so, make sure you hit that subscribe
26:41 button down below and you're turning on the bell notification.
26:44 As always guys, thanks for watching.
26:46 See you guys next time.
