00:00Straight from the Comet Observatory, but is she missing her star?
00:03Here's a look at the Jack Specific, the Super Mario Galaxy movie, Rosalina.
00:17Collect your favorite characters in the Super Mario Galaxy 5-inch figure series.
00:21The Rosalina figure is inspired by the movie and comes with premium details
00:24including realistic acrylic eyes and 10 points of articulation.
00:28Rosalina comes with her wand and clear acrylic stand, all showcased in a window box.
00:32Rather odd that the adopted mother of the Lumas doesn't in fact come and clue with the Luma herself.
00:37She does come with an accessory. Obviously, we're going to talk about that more in a moment.
00:40First things though, first we're going to grab the tape measure and get things going
00:43with the height of how tall this Super Mario Galaxy movie Brie Larson...
00:46Oh, sorry. How tall Rosalina stands, who of course will be voiced by Brie Larson.
00:51I can hear the groans down below already.
00:53As for how tall Rosalina is going to stand, right to the top of her crown,
00:57you're looking at a figure being about 7 inches in height, or roughly 17 centimeters tall.
01:02I guess it's not a bad thing.
01:04No, not the part of Brie Larson doing the voice of Rosalina.
01:06The part of Rosalina not having a Luma.
01:08Considering though the Mario Brothers, Mario on one side, Luigi on the other,
01:11did in fact come and clue with theirs.
01:12She has her wand.
01:14And her wand does only fit into one of her hands.
01:16This hand over here.
01:17I know it looks only just like a pointing hand, but it also serves double as a gripping hand.
01:21This other hand over here is not going to be doing anything.
01:23So if you want to choose to get the wand, not dropping her though in the process.
01:27If you want to get the wand into her hand, even though really, again,
01:29like it also really is good for a pointing hand.
01:31They have concealed in there as well, a little grip.
01:34So you can take your tiny little wand.
01:36Be careful though, that you don't bend the stem of this and just sort of push it down into her
01:41hand.
01:42The handle is pretty thin.
01:44So be careful though, when you're trying to fit it into Rosalina's hand,
01:47that you don't put a lot of pressure against it.
01:49Cause you can see it can buckle real quick, but you can hold it in her hand and she holds
01:53it.
01:53Well, this other hand is again, more just a gestured hand.
01:56So it's not going to be holding any other accessories, but again, like not having though a yellow Luma,
02:00which is really, again, the character I always really associate with Rosalina seems so strange to me.
02:05I guess really that they've used the plastic.
02:08What would have been dedicated for a Luma instead for a stand.
02:10The stand does plug onto the bottoms of her, of her skirt here.
02:13The one thing about it though, is why even take the time to have removable stand?
02:17Cause the way that you look at it right now, Rosalina has to kind of like float,
02:22like balance herself like that.
02:24But what they've done though, is they've made the stand removable and it doesn't make any sense to me.
02:28Sure. Yeah, it detaches, but then you would think, okay, well, if I don't want to have her
02:32levitating, I can just have her standing and no, it doesn't work that way.
02:36The moment you do get rid of the display stand, you get rid of as well,
02:39any possibility at all for her, the figure to be able to stand on her own.
02:43If you look at the way that she's designed, instead of being completely flat,
02:47which would have made the most sense, they've decided instead to angle her feet.
02:51And I think that was a wrong idea.
02:53If they had only made the feet flat, then Rosalina wouldn't need the stand.
02:57And then the idea of having removable stand would have made much more sense.
03:00The moment you take this off again, though, there's no way that she can stand on her own.
03:04She's only going to always fall forward.
03:06So it always needs to have this.
03:08So if it always needs to have it, why make it something that can be then removed?
03:12When you're also putting it back in place, you have to go by a specific shape.
03:15So see how it kind of looks more like a fork or devil horns?
03:18Great.
03:18Now you're describing a toy with devil horns, but that has to plug in a certain way.
03:22And you need it that way in order for the figure to balance properly.
03:26It makes no sense whatsoever.
03:27What I do like, though, is the face sculpt.
03:30I've always really been a big fan of Rosalina.
03:32And maybe some of that may be some biasness because the fact my daughter loves Rosalina so much.
03:36But I'm glad finally, though, that Rosalina is making an appearance in the Super Mario Galaxy movie.
03:41Whether, again, you really like the idea of Brie Larson doing the voice.
03:43You know what?
03:44She does a fine job, I feel, from so far what we've seen online.
03:48I think she's going to be a fine voice, really, for Rosalina.
03:51Rosalina's notable trait is, well, not only the fact that she does have a crown on top of her head,
03:55but she always tends to have, like, this large bit of bang that drapes across the front of her face.
04:00Partial curtain her face.
04:02You can see that because of that, she only has the one eye.
04:04The one eye, though, is much like Mario and Luigi using an acrylic.
04:08So it kind of gives it still a bit of a sheen.
04:10Face is really quite pretty, though.
04:11She does also have little stars for her earrings on the sides.
04:14All things that you'd expect to see of her in the game.
04:16Again, she's also got this really nice curl that she's got on the back of her hair.
04:20Because of the way, though, they've sculpted the hair,
04:22it does, admittingly, does sacrifice some of the articulation.
04:25And we're going to talk more about that in a second.
04:27This figure also sacrifices not only just articulation in her head,
04:31but then she also drops, as well, another 12 points.
04:34Because Mario and Luigi have had 22 points of articulation.
04:37And we run all through that in their own separate reviews.
04:41Rosalina, unfortunately, though, has to deduct another 12 on top.
04:44She only gets 10 points of articulation.
04:45Because, again, like all the lower end of her skirt, the dress that she has,
04:49there's nothing at all that you can do with these.
04:50Because there's nothing at all you can do with the feet.
04:52Everything is really from, like, this point up.
04:54The points of the posability.
04:56Again, we'll talk about that more in a moment.
04:58I love, though, the sleeves.
04:59I think they've done a nice job on that.
05:01Even right, like, down to the smallest details,
05:03you can see that they've even gone in and painted the nails in purple.
05:07The nails, you know, when you're looking at them, though,
05:09they look less really like nails.
05:11And it looks like they've actually just painted the ends of her fingers.
05:13But still, it's something.
05:15It's the added little bit of paint that you know that a company appreciates what they do.
05:19Again, like, I like the wand.
05:20I think, honestly, though, I would have still included a Luma.
05:23Especially, like, the yellow Luma.
05:25That's the one that I always kind of associate right away with Rosalina.
05:27But not having that, I would imagine most people are probably going to be collecting
05:31all the Super Mario Galaxy figures anyways.
05:33If you've already collected a Mario, Mario seems a little strange maybe to have a Luma.
05:37Yeah, yeah.
05:38I'm only just going to have Rosalina displayed with specifically this one,
05:41the yellow one, more than the blue one that came in with Luigi.
05:44Okay, so for Rosalina's articulation, I've said already, though,
05:47the figure's going to be a little bit more limited.
05:49There's not really much you can really do with her hair.
05:51Head, yeah, you can move up and down.
05:53That's not that bad.
05:54And you can also rock it back and forth a little bit.
05:56But turning it, turning it ever really becomes the problem.
05:59There's so much hair really on the back, especially this section here,
06:02that it becomes just next to impossible to rotate her head any more than what I'm doing right now.
06:07Second point of articulation.
06:08Again, it's so much easier.
06:10I mean, you could count these literally on two hands.
06:12Second point is in her torso.
06:14So the torso does have a ball joint.
06:16It allows the torso to do what it's doing right now.
06:19On top of that, you also have the shoulder articulation.
06:22So that can allow the arms to rotate.
06:24She does have like this collar piece right here that will, again,
06:27cause a little bit of problems causing the arms to rotate all the way.
06:30She does have a swivel in her bicep, a single hinge only in her elbow,
06:34and the hands are kind of hard to get in there.
06:36But the hands do also rotate too.
06:39Now take what I've just done over here and just flip it onto this side.
06:42So she's essentially got the exact same possibility on this side too.
06:45She's a pretty looking figure.
06:47I would think though that we're probably going to be getting a peach in this movie.
06:49Well, we already know we're getting a peach.
06:51I wonder if though we're going to be getting a peach figure.
06:53I don't know what other characters we're going to be getting.
06:55So much of it right now is in secrecy.
06:57I know there's kind of been a leak that they've talked a little bit about Waluigi or Wario.
07:03Wario being maybe possibly appearing in the movie.
07:06I certainly hope that that's going to be the case.
07:07I would think though we're probably going to be getting a peach.
07:09And when we do eventually get a peach, it's going to look really nice to be on display along with
07:13Rosalina.
07:14The only thing again, like looking at Rosalina, two things that just perplex me is first of all,
07:18like why would you have removed, have a removable stand if the feet aren't flat in the first place?
07:23I mean, had they, again, I like that it sweeps down the way that it does.
07:27But again, it always has to rely on this.
07:29If that's the case, they should have just permanently mounted that on the bottom.
07:33Because I feel like as a kid, kids love just kind of taking things apart.
07:36And if there happens to be a kid that just one day looks at Rosalina and says,
07:39oh, the display stand comes off, doesn't immediately put it back on her.
07:43And then they just leave it somewhere under the couch.
07:46You know, you know, you know where kids, kids just just randomly leave crap everywhere.
07:50If you happen to leave that stand somewhere else, and then you go back to display Rosalina,
07:54you're going to realize right away.
07:55The kid's going to realize right away, there's no way to display the figure without the stand.
07:59I feel like also, too, she should have really come in clue with, again, Aluma.
08:03Aluma just feels makes more sense.
08:05But again, maybe there was more plastic that went into sculpting and producing Rosalina
08:09than maybe the Mario Brothers on both sides.
08:11And one of the main reasons, maybe why, the 86, the idea of Aluma in the first place.
08:15Rosalina doesn't really technically come in clue with Aluma.
08:17But considering, though, the character's known for having one,
08:19decided just for wrapping up of this review, I would borrow the one that came in clue with Mario.
08:23Now, again, I would think that maybe one of the main reasons why that Rosalina doesn't come in clue
08:27with the yellow Luma that she's normally known for having
08:30is probably a lot of it just due to the production cost,
08:32making this figure maybe cost a lot more plastic, maybe compared to Mario and Luigi.
08:36But again, like Mario and Luigi, I think, could have easily come in with other accessories.
08:40Let's just say you're only interested in getting a Rosalina.
08:43You have little to no interest in getting the Mario Brothers.
08:45I feel like those individuals, those collectors that love Rosalina,
08:49should have been then rewarded getting this figure out of the packaging
08:51and expecting to see the little star creature along with her.
08:55Now, though, in the movie, she's going to be voiced by Brie Larson.
08:57I know, I know.
08:59Normally, though, she's been voiced by several actual voice actresses.
09:02The most recent one, I think, is Laura Faye Smith.
09:05She voiced her from, like, 2013 to the present time.
09:08I mean, it would have been nice that they could have actually brought the voice actors in
09:11from, like, the games that people would have recognized.
09:13But usually, though, when things get big and Hollywood starts to take over productions,
09:16they like to get the big names.
09:18Not that I would necessarily say that Brie Larson is a big name,
09:21but she's probably a lot more recognizable to non-fans of the game
09:24or people that aren't as dedicated to playing the gaming as Laura Faye Smith.
09:28I like the look, though, of Rosalina.
09:30One thing I didn't mention, though, unfortunately, in this review
09:32that I can kind of now tack on is I like that they've also added the glittering
09:36to the plastic of her dress.
09:38You can see it all across, especially the front of her dress.
09:40I think it just adds a little bit of magicalness to the look of Rosalina.
09:44I know one character, though.
09:46I know one person in his family that's going to really love now having Rosalina on the shelf.
09:50No, no, it's not me.
09:52It's going to be my daughter.
09:53In fact, actually, the first time that she saw me looking at all the Super Mario Galaxy figures,
09:57the first thing she said above all else is,
10:00can I have the Rosalina?
10:01Yes.
10:02Yes, you can have the Rosalina.
10:03You may have to wait, though, a little while
10:05because we're still going to be looking at the last three figures that make up this wave.
10:08That's going to be Bowser Jr., Super Bowser Jr.,
10:10and we're also going to be looking at Yoshi!
10:12All of those reviews will be coming up this week.
10:15In the meantime, again, I did actually grab these from the Facebook selling group
10:19and Popeye the Toy Man.
10:20So, again, a big thank you to him for hooking this guy up.
10:23Because of him, again, the last rest of this week,
10:25we're going to be looking at all Super Mario Galaxy figures.
10:28Some that like Super Mario Galaxy are, like, right now saying,
10:31Yeah!
10:32Other ones that loathe Mario and still want to stick with Sega and Sonic
10:35are like, Oh, come on.
10:36More of this stuff?
10:37Yeah, yeah, more of this stuff.
10:39If, for those that did enjoy this video, do it a solid, please, and throw it a like.
10:42If you guys want to stick around for more so, I hope so.
10:45I hope so.
10:45More Mario Galaxy stuff coming your way.
10:47So, as always, thanks for watching.
10:49See you guys next time.
10:50See you guys next time.
