00:00Well, I hope Mario's brother has an easier time than the trip he took last movie.
00:04Here's a look at a new Jack Specific, the Super Mario Galaxy movie, Luigi!
00:17Collect your favorite characters in the Super Mario Galaxy 5-inch figure series.
00:21The Luigi figure is inspired by the movie and comes with premium details including realistic acrylic eyes and 22 points
00:27of articulation.
00:27Luigi comes with a blue glow-in-the-dark Luma Star accessory all showcased in a window box.
00:33I was hoping at least he can stay away from Shy Guys in this movie.
00:36Before, though, we get a closer look at the new Super Mario Galaxy movie, Luigi.
00:40Let's grab the tape measure. It's been in my hand this whole time.
00:43And let's see how tall the figure's going to stand.
00:44We already know, though, he's going to be standing a whole lot taller than his brother Mario, a figure we've
00:48already looked at this week.
00:49But just how much taller?
00:50Well, first things first, the tape measure's going to tell us.
00:53What's it telling us right now?
00:54Go get yourself a snack?
00:55You stupid tape measure.
00:56We've got time for work right now.
00:58Then we'll have later time for snacks.
01:00Luigi's going to be, in fact, going to be standing at 5 inches in height, or roughly about 12.5
01:04centimeters tall.
01:05I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have called you stupid.
01:07Can we still be friends?
01:08Oh, now you're not talking to me.
01:10All right, we'll just put you over here.
01:11Let's bring Mario over here just to compare the two figures side by side.
01:15Yeah, Luigi is going to be not only a lot taller than Mario, but he's a little bit leaner as
01:19well.
01:19Luigi, much like Mario, does come with a Luma accessory.
01:22Although with Luigi's, his happened to be blue while Mario's was yellow.
01:25I don't know, though.
01:26I'm looking at the two shapes.
01:27They do seem like they're exactly the same.
01:29Obviously, though, that Mario's just happened to have a smiling Luma face.
01:33While Luigi is kind of more giggling.
01:35This one looks like he can't take things seriously.
01:37I'm fine to be around people that can't take things in life seriously.
01:40But at some point, you have to be serious.
01:42You can't just be giggling all the time.
01:44I knew somebody that was always laughing, always cracking jokes.
01:47The guy would always happen to be on.
01:49You can have your moments of being on.
01:51You can crack your jokes and be witty.
01:52He was a witty guy, but he was always at that level.
01:55And after a while, it just became a little too much.
01:57I don't even remember what happened to that guy.
01:58He's probably telling jokes somewhere on a stand-up stage.
02:01But yeah, the Luma, though, that comes in clear with Luigi kind of has the same issue as Mario's.
02:05There's no real way to kind of keep this on display.
02:08I mean, it's flat, I suppose, enough on the bottoms of the feet.
02:11And it's also as well going to be leaning against its backside.
02:13Does the Luma have a backside?
02:16It sort of has a back bottom.
02:17More or less, that's the thing it's going to be resting on.
02:19I would have really loved, though, if they could have included just a little stand display stand.
02:23Like something in clear and acrylic with just a little bit of a post that could have plugged, I know
02:28awkwardly, right in the bottom there.
02:30Just something, though, that you could have had the Lumas floating and not just sitting still alongside their legs.
02:37That's the only accessory, by the way, that comes in clear with Luigi.
02:39I know I said really the same thing when it came to Mario.
02:42I love, though, that they could have included something more than just the star accessories.
02:46As fine and cool as those may be.
02:48I'll just kind of move that off to the side.
02:50We'll just bring and get a closer look now at Luigi.
02:52Luigi is really, again, much like what we get with Mario.
02:55If you like the idea of coveralls and overalls, yeah, this guy pretty much does that as well.
03:00Although, notably, his overalls are a different darker blue than Mario's lighter blue.
03:04Faces are pretty good, too, much like they are in the movie.
03:07These now also sport acrylic eyes.
03:09Not the first time.
03:10Not the first time that Jax has, in fact, done this.
03:12They also did it with the original movie Mario figures.
03:15The original, first movie Mario figures, too.
03:17That I do feel like, just with a little bit of light shining off of them, there adds more
03:21to a realism to these figures, considering where they come from.
03:26But, of course, he does have the green hat there on the top, where Mario would have had
03:29his in red.
03:30It's interesting, though, that when you're looking at Luigi's, he seems to have kind
03:34of more of a tighter stretch on the fabric.
03:37Mario never...
03:37Well, Mario had it, but he didn't have it to the degree, though, that Luigi has.
03:40I don't know if that just means he's got a bigger head underneath.
03:43Maybe when you take the hat off, he's just got this giant afro.
03:46So there's so much more that the hat has to keep down.
03:49It's causing the fabric to stretch.
03:51It's a nice little attention to detail.
03:53Of course, like with Mario, he's got a big, giant mustache.
03:57I mean, even, like, Tom Selleck would have been jealous for the mustache that he has.
04:00Now, he's voiced in the movie by Charlie Day.
04:02I love Charlie Day.
04:04Horrible Boss is probably one of my favorite things.
04:05I know it's always sunny in Philadelphia.
04:08I've honestly only watched maybe like one or two episodes, and I keep getting friends
04:11that are telling me, even the guy that was on all the time told me, you've got to watch
04:16that show.
04:17Still haven't gotten around to doing it.
04:18But Horrible Boss is still probably one of my favorite Charlie Day things that he's been
04:22in.
04:22And I think he does a fine job for playing the role of Luigi.
04:26He sort of has more of that nervousness that Luigi seemed to have adopted later on.
04:31Luigi never was that in the beginning.
04:32I feel like Mario and Luigi were always kind of hand-in-hand when it came to courage.
04:35But then lately, though, Luigi's always sort of been pinned as more of the nervous brother
04:40of the two, I guess, the two Mario brothers.
04:43The coloring is really nicely done here and now.
04:45Much like Mario, he does also have articulation in the four fingers.
04:49You know, I'm looking, though, at gloves like this.
04:51It just makes me think they're teasing.
04:53They're teasing that accessories could have very well come included with these figures.
04:57Because if not for that, what are they exactly gripping?
05:00They're just gripping hair.
05:01They're just gripping nothing.
05:03Nothingness.
05:03But again, there is a pin that runs straight through that that allows the four fingers
05:07to move back and forth.
05:08So if you want to have him asking Mario maybe for the money that Mario gave him before, you
05:12know, Mario, you ordered that large pizza and you promised you were going to give me
05:16money.
05:16Come on, man.
05:17Cough it up.
05:18No, no.
05:19Don't literally cough it up.
05:20I know you didn't like the mushrooms on it, but still.
05:22Gold looks nice, though, on the little front snaps that he has.
05:25Nice little, again, stitching that they've also added to the front of his coveralls.
05:28And of course, like Mario, too, he's also got the large brown boots, which, much like
05:32Mario, doesn't look that much different.
05:34I mean, you could almost even look at them and think that they probably maybe even use
05:37the exact same footwear.
05:39Has Mario taken maybe a larger size?
05:41I don't know.
05:42It does look like it's probably the same size of footwear.
05:45But I mean, if they did bore over those molds, I can't be really faulting them.
05:49I mean, even like really looking at the arms.
05:51The arms probably are...
05:52No, Luigi's arms are just a little bit smaller.
05:54Maybe they probably also have used the hands.
05:57No, no.
05:57Luigi's got the little stripes there on the tops of his.
06:00Mario doesn't have it.
06:01So it looks maybe like the only thing that they may have also used between Mario and Luigi
06:05probably would have been the footwear.
06:07Again, that's not a bad thing at all.
06:09For Luigi's articulation, if you're familiar with Mario's, you'll be familiar with this
06:13guy's.
06:13He says it's going to be in a bowl joint.
06:14So it's doing what it's doing right now.
06:16It can also do what it's doing right now, too.
06:18And it can also do...
06:19Wait, that's going to kill him.
06:20It can also do...
06:22What it's doing right now.
06:23Now, arms rotate all the way around.
06:25You can hinge them easily out at a 90-degree angle or T-pose if you prefer.
06:29There is a swivel cut right there, right straight through the bicep that allows the arm to do
06:34what it's doing right now.
06:37There's also a bend in the elbow.
06:38The elbow bend, probably not as big of a bicep, but can still at least flex a muscle like Mario.
06:44Hands also rotate all the way around.
06:46Did I mention?
06:46I did mention.
06:47I know I did.
06:48There's articulation on the four fingers.
06:50Four fingers collectively, though.
06:51These family all have to work together.
06:53No one's leaving the house on their own.
06:55You leave one, everybody's going to be joining along as well.
06:59Upper torso is going to be on a ball joint.
07:01So you can rotate it all the way around if you prefer.
07:03A little bit of a side crunch, but mostly up front and back.
07:06Legs split.
07:07And I will be happy to say that, first of all, if you have seen my review of Mario...
07:12Thank you for that, by the way.
07:13Mario had, unfortunately, really loose out of packaging.
07:15I know, again, I had this guy in the package probably like an hour like Mario, but this
07:19guy is a lot tighter, though, in the legs.
07:22A lot tighter in the joints.
07:23There's a little bit of a swivel there at the top of the joints.
07:26He does also technically also have a swivel cut.
07:30I think he's got a swivel cut right there.
07:32Maybe he doesn't.
07:33Oh, yeah, he does.
07:34It's right there.
07:34Right there.
07:35Does have a hinge in the knee.
07:37Again, nice and tight for Luigi.
07:38He has an ankle rocker, and he has an ankle pivot up and down as well.
07:44Kind of taking the same idea that I mentioned with Mario, I could probably even carbon copy
07:48the exact same statement.
07:49I like the look of Luigi.
07:51I like that they've now added these acrylic eyes.
07:53It just adds a little bit more life to the face of these characters.
07:55These plumbers have to go and save the Mushroom City and more in the new Super Mario Galaxy
08:00movie.
08:00Again, that's what he looks like with Mario.
08:02Just bringing back in the Lumas.
08:06You know, again, I like that they included the stars.
08:08I mean, again, when you tend to think of Super Mario Galaxy, you usually think of the little
08:12Luma creatures.
08:13But again, I just feel like maybe they could have thrown in something else in there as
08:16well.
08:17Says, of course, the big wig.
08:18Big wig behind the camera.
08:20Throwing out money, apparently, these companies can do.
08:22But I just wish that they could have thrown in some other accessories that relate back to
08:25Super Mario.
08:26You know, it's fine and good that they include little star characters.
08:29But like a mushroom, a little mystery block, something along those lines.
08:33But again, like I really like the look of the characters.
08:35They're fully poseable.
08:36I think they got like 22 points of articulation.
08:38That's not bad.
08:39That's not bad.
08:40What's not also bad, too, is that the figures generally are selling for around to like 22
08:44to 25.
08:45I've seen listings on Walmart.
08:47They're actually on pre-order right now on Walmart for, I think, like 25.
08:50What's actually interesting, too, and I'm going to say this, too, before we actually jump
08:53to the turntable.
08:55I've looked online and I was just out of curiosity, wanting to see what the prices were selling for
08:59on other characters.
09:00Well, like, you know, where they were selling elsewhere.
09:02And funny, though, enough, like there's listings on eBay right now of EB Games, an exclusive
09:08Super Mario Galaxy movie, Luigi.
09:10Now, I don't know if that means that he is an exclusive to EB Games, but people are legitimately
09:15honestly selling this guy for like 80 to $90.
09:19Why are we spending?
09:21Why is anybody going to spend that much money for, I'm guessing, would be an exclusive to
09:25EB Games, even though I did actually got this from Popeye the Toy Man on Facebook.
09:29But don't spend $90 to get yourself a Luigi.
09:33Considering, really, I would think that most of all Luigi's articulation or all his body
09:37build is probably even being pulled from the movie Luigi from before.
09:41If you have that original Luigi, I don't think there's not much that's been differently done
09:45here to the one that we get from Super Mario Galaxy.
09:47So in closing, before, of course, we rotate and jump things to the rotating rotisserie, don't
09:53spend $90 for this guy.
09:54Even if somebody claims that these are exclusive, hard to find.
09:58You'll never find them anywhere else.
10:00Don't be spending $90 for them.
10:01Just wait it out.
10:02Sure enough, though, stores will eventually stalk them.
10:04Don't need to feel to get in there early.
10:07Don't be the early bird that catches the worm, because that early bird is catching worm
10:10that's overly expensive.
10:11Looking more online, it seems maybe that Luigi is, in fact, the chase figure from the Super
10:16Mario Galaxy Wave, because listings, though, of all the figures on eBay seem to exclude
10:21Luigi altogether.
10:22And then there's other listings, I found two, in fact, that show them as being exclusive
10:26to EB Games.
10:28One wasn't as crazy of a price of the $90 I quoted earlier, but still, $60.
10:32That's way too steep if you ask me to get your hands on Luigi.
10:36If you guys wanted, though, to wait, I would think, though, eventually.
10:39It's just the way that things work right now.
10:41Obviously, things are fresh out the gate, new to store shelves, and people are scooping
10:46them up right away.
10:47If you're willing, though, to wait, don't pay $60.
10:49Don't even crazily pay $90 for Luigi.
10:53Eventually, I'm sure you'll find him sitting on the pegs along with his brother.
10:57Luckily, though, I didn't have to go to stores.
10:58I certainly didn't have to go to places like eBay.
11:00I just waited for the ship to set shore, and I actually grabbed this from Popeye the
11:05Toy Man on the Facebook selling group.
11:06Boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop.
11:08That guy, in fact, had hooked me up.
11:10We're going to be looking at the entire first wave of Super Mario Galaxy figures all
11:14throughout this week.
11:15All throughout.
11:16Yeah.
11:16So while we are wrapping up the reviews right now for Luigi, all the rest of this wave will,
11:21in fact, be in front of your eyes by the time that the week has wrapped up.
11:25What do you guys, though, think of Luigi?
11:26Let me know down below in the comments section.
11:28Now, do you also feel maybe like Lumas are fine and good, but maybe throw in other accessories,
11:33too?
11:33Don't, you know, you're not saying that to me.
11:35You'd be saying that to Jax.
11:36Do you feel like these figures really need more accessories than what they actually got?
11:39And if they do get things like Lumas, don't you think, too, that they should have also
11:43come include with display stands so they can do a whole lot more than what they're doing
11:47right now?
11:48But what do you guys think of Luigi?
11:49Let me know down below.
11:50What do you guys think of this review?
11:51Let me know down below.
11:52But you can also do it as all by throwing it a like.
11:55You guys want to stick around for more?
11:56So I hope so.
11:57Who was that?
11:58Was that you?
11:59Oh, it was the ghost.
12:00I was wondering this whole time.
12:02Hey, buddy, how you doing?
12:03I kind of felt this thing brushing against my arm.
12:06I thought for a second it was the cat.
12:07No, it's a ghost.
12:09Hey, if you guys certainly are ghosts or just real, real living people and you guys want
12:14to stick around for more, make sure you hit the subscribe.
12:17Make sure you turn on the bell.
12:18Make sure ghost or otherwise that you're going to come back because there's more content
12:21always coming your way.
12:24As always, guys, thanks for watching.
12:25See you guys next time.
12:26See you guys next time.
