00:00I know what you're thinking. You ordered this online, didn't you? Bet that must have stung.
00:03Here's your look at Mattel, Matthew Universe Origins, Stingor, evil assassin of the evil Horde.
00:22In his fear-inspiring debut in the Matthew Universe world, Stingor emerges from the shadows to become the fully-fledged
00:27threat to Etheria,
00:27the first male scorpion character in the MOTU lineup.
00:30Stingor literally strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies with his massive postable tail and claws,
00:35plus interchangeable hand attachments that make him more dangerous than ever.
00:38Yes, yes, I know I waited a while to get my hands on Stingor.
00:40At the time he was released on Mattel creation site was the same time the postal people here decided they
00:45didn't want to work.
00:46And I thought, judging by the size of Stingor's tail, one strike for this guy was more than enough.
00:51We're going to look at the tail, and of course we're going to look at the figure that attaches to
00:54the tail in a second.
00:55First things though, first, we're going to grab the tape measure, and we're going to do our thing to see
00:59how tall the figure's going to stand.
01:00If you guys are interested and would like to get your hands on Stingor, he's still available on Mattel creation
01:04site.
01:0533 bucks, a little over $30 here for his Canadian collector, and that's not bad at all.
01:10They ship pretty fast too, and that's not though a shameless plug at all from Mattel creations.
01:14I'm just saying from the guy that ordered this, he arrived pretty fast, and smoothly too, because the post people
01:19were working at the time.
01:20For how tall the figure's going to stand, Stingor stands at five and three-quarters of an inch in height.
01:25Bet, though, the figure's going to work out to be about 14 centimeters tall.
01:29I have my doubts a character like Hordak would align himself with someone so deadly as a scorpion.
01:33And yet, though, here we are.
01:35He's aligning clearly himself by the fact he's got himself branded all over the place with the Horde symbols.
01:39Here's what he looks like with Hordak.
01:40Hordak did also get a release of the Hurricane variety.
01:43He's available right now still on Mattel creation site.
01:45A character that is still an exclusive over on that site happens to be Dragster.
01:50Happened to be a figure we also looked at lately.
01:52Here's what he also looks like with Grizzlor.
01:54Hey, why not?
01:55A Horde trooper.
01:56And for good measures, here's what the figure looks like with Mantena.
01:59Scorpion half-stuff.
02:00Yeah, yeah, he does.
02:01He's got some stuff over here.
02:02We're going to look at first the stuff that's over here.
02:04And I'm going to be very careful to hold the mini-comic that's entitled The Sting of Stingor.
02:09Primarily because I'm sure this is going to be the only time this mini-comic's going to come included with
02:13a figure.
02:15One thing, though, at least was good is that they packed this inside of a Ziploc bag.
02:20And so, for me, all that was involved was me sliding it back out of the bag to keep it
02:24pristine like this.
02:25Had they taped it or put the glue so close in proximity that it would have ripped the pages, I
02:32would have cried.
02:34Simulated crying.
02:35The comic itself, though, if we flip through the pages, it seems, though, that Stingor aligns himself with a whole
02:41bunch of other creatures that all have stinging in their repertoire.
02:45Looks like there's a spider, some sort of crab walking thing.
02:48Pretty terrifying stuff.
02:50He also aligns himself with Stingor.
02:52Stingor, Stingor.
02:54They've got to be the best of buddies.
02:56Can't help but also notice, though, that there's King Hiss, Leech, down below there as well.
03:00So, I'm not going to spoil this comic for anyone that doesn't want spoilage.
03:04So, I'm just going to quickly show you guys the pages on the inside here.
03:07Oh, there's also Teela and Sorceress.
03:10Let's just put that off to the side.
03:11What I won't put it off to the side just yet.
03:13The figure does come included as well with a hand.
03:16Kind of odd, though, reviewer, that he comes included with just a regular human hand.
03:20Well, you know, again, not quite a human hand.
03:22But he already has monster hands.
03:24So, why would you include...
03:25And they're saying this.
03:27You guys are obviously saying this to Mattel.
03:28Why would they have included a hand like this?
03:30When clearly, though, there's better offerings on the ends of his forearms.
03:33Well, here's the thing about Stingor.
03:35First of all, he does come also included with a claw.
03:38Now, this looks very much similar to the claw that comes included with Clawful.
03:41This does actually have a gimmick.
03:43But the gimmick involves you having to manually move this.
03:45It doesn't have, like, a spring or anything built inside.
03:48What it doesn't also have built inside is a peg.
03:50So, if you want to swap out any of these hands in favor of one of these hands,
03:55or primarily the only claw hand,
03:56the only way to get around that, though,
03:58is it has to be lodged on top of a regular hand.
04:03I don't like that.
04:04I just feel, though, like,
04:05why would they have not just put a peg on the end of this and just called it a day?
04:09In order for this to go on to this,
04:11what you have to do first...
04:13And actually, just before we do that,
04:14I want to show you guys how cool this claws actually look.
04:17Really painted well, too.
04:18Each of the individual nails are more of a brighter red-orange.
04:22But if we want to, say, for example, put the claw on this hand,
04:24well, you can't just put the claw on as such,
04:27because there's no way for that to stay on its form.
04:30You could wedge it up as far, I'm sure, as you can go with it.
04:33But I just think, like, a peg would have worked so much easier.
04:36Why do we have to do what I'm doing right now?
04:39Taking a black hand...
04:41It doesn't necessarily have to be a black hand.
04:42It could have really been any hand.
04:44And then you have to wedge it on top of the claw.
04:48I mean, no one would know this looking at the figure only on your shelf.
04:52They'd never know that there's actually a hand hidden inside of this.
04:55But it sort of seems like a cheap way to get the same thing accomplished
04:59as just putting a peg on the end of the claw.
05:01And again, by the way, the claw does open and close.
05:03I think it's the same claw that we got from Clawful.
05:06You can certainly let me know down below in the comments section.
05:09So you get a regular monster hand,
05:11and then you get this big, ginormous claw hand.
05:14But wait, there's more.
05:15The figure does also come in clue with this claw,
05:18kind of claw-forked shield.
05:21And we know it, again, belongs to the Horde
05:22by the fact that the Horde symbol is clearly branded.
05:25Like, Kordak loves the branded stuff all across the front of the shield.
05:28The coloring of this red reminds me of something.
05:31And I'm sure you guys, because we're on the same wavelength,
05:34are thinking the same thing.
05:35Battlecat!
05:36It looks like the color of Battlecat.
05:39You know, it's funny, though, that we're just talking about Battlecat now,
05:42obviously because I planted the ID into your head.
05:44Does not the head, though, of Stingor
05:45look a little across between a Battlecat head and a Predator?
05:51Together.
05:51Married.
05:52By the way, though, if you wanted to marry the shield to his arm,
05:55there is a smaller clip and a wider clip.
05:57I'm not flipping you the bird, by the way.
05:59And just clip that over top of his form like that.
06:01So not only does it serve to be a shield,
06:03but it serves to also be a pokey, stabby weapon as well.
06:08I like the look of that.
06:09I don't like, really, the way that the claw, again,
06:11has to attach onto the forearm.
06:13But again, it still arrives on a pretty cool-looking design of the character.
06:16Now, the last thing that finishes off this look of Scorpion
06:18is that Stingor also comes in clear with a big Scorpion tail.
06:22By the way that you can see that I'm moving around,
06:24it has a knuckle joint in one, two, three, four, five, six places.
06:29And the coloring that they've done to the tip
06:31matches the coloring nicely, though, for the claw.
06:34Now this, unlike, though, the claw, does at least have a peg.
06:37And if you look on the back of the figure's body
06:39in all the worst places, it happens to be right there.
06:43Right there.
06:46So, we're going to take, though, the peg,
06:48and that's going to plug onto the back of Stingor.
06:49And now he does have a Scorpion tail.
06:51You would probably gather, though, by adding a Scorpion tail,
06:54does it make the figure quite back-heavy?
06:56Yeah, it does.
06:56So, you may have to then result in leaning the figure
06:59a little bit further forward to compensate for the fact
07:02that the tail bows out as back as it does.
07:04You can also, obviously, just bring the tail around, too.
07:06So, if you want to have it sort of more as a, you know,
07:09a tripod leg, you can also do that, too.
07:11But I can see that there's a lot of budget
07:13that went into this figure.
07:14Now, there are some things that they have borrowed over.
07:17Sorry, just for a second.
07:18I'm going to take the shield off here.
07:19There are some things that they have borrowed over,
07:21like primarily, obviously, this is a regular Master's body.
07:23I don't recognize, though, the banding.
07:26Could it maybe have been in, like, one of the Hiss, King Hiss, maybe?
07:30Or maybe one of the snakes, Snake Man?
07:32I don't know.
07:33I'm sure somebody can let me know down below in the comments.
07:35I'm sure, though, they have used this body again.
07:37Probably not in this color, but in this mold.
07:40Obviously, the loincloth, we recognize you.
07:42I mean, you're like a longtime friend.
07:44We always keep bumping into you.
07:46What we have also bumped into, too, is he has Hordak's boots,
07:49at least the top parts of the boots.
07:51But what he doesn't have, though, is Hordak's feet.
07:53These feet are the same ones that they use for Buzz-Off.
07:56So, you know, again, like it's Buzz-Off's feet, Hordak's boots.
07:59And again, I'm sure some unknown right now, unknown body,
08:03but I'm sure you guys can let me know down below in the comments.
08:04Like, I think, though, it's probably a Snake Man body.
08:07Things that are tooled new, though, is brand new armor.
08:09So, again, you've got the Horde-symboled armor.
08:11Love the spikes on the top of that.
08:13This, by the way, can be detached.
08:14So if you don't like the look of this on Stingor,
08:16you can just detach the back and slide this off.
08:18But, I mean, come on.
08:19Look at that face.
08:20Does that not look, though, a cross between, like, Battle Cat and a Predator?
08:24These long tusk talons, not to mention these beady, like, green eyes.
08:28I don't think, though, this eye, this is an eye in the middle
08:31by the fact that it's not the same color of green that they've used for the eyes.
08:34So, being that this is a little bit brighter,
08:36I think that that's just a stone, a gem on the top of the helmet.
08:40Now, is this a helmet?
08:41I don't know.
08:41Is this just part of its head?
08:42Who really knows?
08:44This piece, though, these little tusk pieces are softer in plastic.
08:48But, you know, I get, again, very much the vibe of, like, a Battle Cat helmeted head,
08:52and then, again, a Predator body, or, again, like, the tusks for the Predator.
08:56It's a cool-looking character.
08:58But, again, like, from the design standpoint of it,
09:00it does look like, though, they've used, like, Clothal's hand.
09:04Maybe I'm sure they probably have used these hands before as well.
09:07There's very little, I'm sure, that they had to tool,
09:09other than probably a new armor piece, and, again, a new head sculpt and tail.
09:12But for $33, don't quote me on that.
09:15I think it's a little over $30 for a Canadian collector.
09:17That's not bad at all for how cool of a figure Stinger actually is.
09:22For the figure's articulation, let's run through that together.
09:24There's at least enough space underneath his head
09:27that he can move as much of his head as I'm doing right now.
09:29Back and forth, up and down.
09:31Yeah, you can rotate all the way around.
09:32The waist does swivel.
09:34Forward and back motion on the arms.
09:35The arms do hinge out, obviously.
09:37Single hinge in the elbow, obviously, too.
09:39Rotates back and forth.
09:41The hands rotate all the way around.
09:42Whether you want to use this hand or the claw hand,
09:45which, again, is only there in suggestion alone
09:47because it has to fit over top of a bicep.
09:49You're only just twisting it back and forth.
09:51I don't really like doing that either
09:52because I worry that that's going to scrape away the gauntlet paint.
09:55Legs do split out.
09:57Forward and back, they go.
09:58So, a little bit of a swivel.
09:59A little bit of a swivel at the top of the thigh.
10:01Single hinge in the knee.
10:02Lower leg rotates.
10:04Boot rotates, too.
10:05Ankle pivot up and down.
10:06Ankle rocker as well.
10:08And then, again, for the tail,
10:09you've got, obviously, the point where it pegs in place.
10:12But, again, it also moves in other places as well.
10:15Sometimes, though, when you are moving the tail,
10:17you may find yourself popping the tail off.
10:19But it does at least plug properly back in place.
10:22Stinger, again, I don't know why I waited so long
10:24to pick this figure up.
10:25Oh, I know why.
10:26Because, again, like the post service was striking here in Canada.
10:29I think this guy came out near the end of the year.
10:31I think we had sort of had a strike going on at the time.
10:33And I think, too, I was also just dedicating the funds towards other things.
10:37Christmas was just right around the corner from what I remember.
10:40Or I probably was just spending the money somewhere else.
10:42That I sat on this guy.
10:44And I should have really picked this guy up sooner.
10:46I like the look, though, of Stinger.
10:47I still don't know, though.
10:49I'm not sure.
10:49Looking at Stinger and then looking at the rest of Hordak's crew,
10:52he seems a little too deadly, too dangerous,
10:55too unreliable to be part of the Horde.
10:57But, again, like he's still a pretty neat-looking figure.
10:59And the good thing about it, though, is he's also still in stock.
11:02So if you guys are looking to get your hands,
11:04from a far enough distance at least away,
11:06that you're looking to get your hands on Stinger,
11:07he should still be available as of right now.
11:10That's not bad of a price at all.
11:12I think one thing, though,
11:13I really want to say that Mattel's been doing right
11:14about the Mattel Creations Masters figures
11:16is by pricing them at least at a point
11:19where collectors outside of being able to get things in stores like myself
11:22don't mind buying things like this online.
11:25If it means $33,
11:27shipping obviously is going to be added on top of that.
11:29But we're not selling these figures for stupid money.
11:33If this figure was sitting more closer to $60 to $70,
11:36I don't think it honestly would have been worth it.
11:37But with a $33 sweet spot of a price,
11:41I can get behind that quite a lot.
11:42And probably one of the reasons, too,
11:44why I've picked up so many Mattel Creations Masters figures
11:46is, again, the prices I don't think is all that bad at all.
11:51Even if you were to look at this
11:52and say that they've borrowed over some of the body elements,
11:54Buzz-Off's feet, for example, Hordak's boots,
11:57and somewhat of a replacement of Clothal's hand,
12:00even though, again,
12:00you're pretty much putting it over top of a regular Masters hand.
12:04I don't like that myself.
12:05I think they should have just smartly put a peg on the back of that instead.
12:08So plugging it into the form would have been the thing you'd have to do
12:11instead of kind of forcing it,
12:13forcing it over top of a regular black hand.
12:15I don't like that myself.
12:17I do like, though, that there's articulation, though, to the tail.
12:20And he sort of, again, gives me this Battle Cat Predator vibe.
12:24Probably one of the reasons why I like this figure so much.
12:26Yes, I did wait a little while to get this figure in my collection,
12:29but I'm certainly glad now I have it.
12:31Now, let's just say you're also like me.
12:33You've waited, you've postponed putting it off.
12:35You keep saying to yourself,
12:36I'm going to get that Stingor.
12:38I'm going to get that Stingor.
12:39And then the person on the other end of the phone is like,
12:41what are you talking about?
12:42I just called to see if you were available for the movies.
12:44You keep mentioning Stingor.
12:46But if you've kept putting it off, though, at least,
12:49know, though, that Stingor is available right now,
12:51still on Mattel Creation's site.
12:53$33 for Canadian, not bad.
12:54It'd be a little less than, obviously, for a U.S. collector.
12:57But yeah, what do you guys think of Stingor?
12:58If you've already obviously picked this figure up probably months ago,
13:01let me know what you think of it.
13:02You don't have to rub it in.
13:04But if this is a figure that you still have yet to pick up,
13:06let me know if you are still interested in getting him.
13:08If you guys have also enjoyed this video,
13:10I certainly hope, though, that you have.
13:12Hit the subscribe and turn on the bell.
13:14Make sure, of course, you're also coming back.
13:15We're wrapping things right now up for Massive Universe,
13:18but there are going to be more videos coming your way.
13:20As always, guys, thanks for watching.
13:22See you guys next time.
13:31I'll see you next time.
13:31I'll see you next time.
13:33You
