00:00 By the looks of it, McFarlane has summoned something sinister.
00:03 Here's your look at the brand new McFarlane toys, Diablo 4 Bone Spirit Necromancer.
00:08 [music]
00:22 Necromancers are cunning summoners that conjure vengeful hordes of the undead.
00:27 Their essence flows into three powerful bastions of bone, blood, and shadow to bring low their enemies.
00:33 [shush]
00:35 I think we better all keep it down before we're about to wake the dead.
00:38 Before, of course, we get a closer look at the brand new Diablo 4 Bone Spirit Necromancer,
00:42 let me send a big thank you to the folks over at McFarlane Toys that did provide this sample we could have a look at.
00:47 These figures now should be available in stores or online if you're a big fan of Diablo 4 and would like to start to collect these.
00:53 Necromancer, though, stands about six and a half or about six and a quarter inches in height,
00:57 or the figure's going to be about 16 centimeters tall.
01:01 Bringing something in now of a similar size, let's slide over the Necromancer that we're about to have a look at
01:07 and bring in the earlier looked at Landslide Druid.
01:10 Okay, maybe they're not quite of similar size.
01:12 The Druid, as you can see, is not only bigger and bulkier, but he's a little bit taller than the Necromancer that we're about to have a look at.
01:18 There's a lot of graveyard grounds to cover. Stickers and of course whatever's contained inside this foil bag
01:23 would be the first two things that we're going to be having a look at.
01:25 When we have looked in the past at the Hydra Lightning Sorceress, she had in fact two items,
01:29 yet when we looked at the Druid, for example, he only had one item.
01:32 I don't know if it has something to do with the size of the figure,
01:34 maybe because the Necromancer is going to be a little bit bigger in size, maybe he's only going to have one item.
01:39 I'm kind of doing the feelsies test, though, and I can only feel one item inside.
01:43 All this wasted space on the top is basically the same space that will be filled with air if you buy yourself a bag of potato chips.
01:49 What's to deal with that?
01:51 We're going to go ahead, though, and rip the bag open.
01:53 There's a perforation right here, and there's a perforation right here.
01:56 I know that bag is to protect the chips from getting crumbled inside, just in case.
01:59 Let me know down below in the comments section.
02:01 Let's dump out what little there is inside this bag, and we get something that looks very similar to an Egyptian tool, like a hook.
02:10 This, I would imagine, will obviously fit into either one of his hands.
02:15 I do really like the way that this has been done.
02:17 It's been all cast here in a really nice, very almost kind of rustic-looking plastic in gold.
02:24 It really has some interesting details to this.
02:26 Now, again, based on the fact that the figure does have gripping hands on both sides,
02:30 I would imagine you'd probably be able to take, you know what, all this talk and me actually saying that.
02:34 Let's put it in, first of all, this hand.
02:36 This is the hand of the two that's the hardest to get accessories in.
02:39 It just never seems to hold anything really properly.
02:41 Yeah, yeah, that seems to work.
02:43 We'll do the exact same thing also on the other side here.
02:45 And again, the plastic, at least for the fingers, are soft enough with all these figures that it's really easy to get the accessories in there.
02:51 Okay, so yes, he holds it successfully.
02:53 Of course, before, of course, we look at the other things that's sprinkled all around the set here.
02:57 I want to also look at these stickers.
02:59 Surprisingly, though, the stickers have been almost just as impressive as the figures themselves.
03:03 I really like this sticker.
03:04 All the other ones I've actually collected so far from Diablo 4, I've put inside, not actually adhered it to my sticker album,
03:10 I've kind of put it inside side pockets because I definitely will want to be using these.
03:14 We've got this one right here that has the kind of ram skull there in the middle.
03:18 It looks to be some sickles or scythes on the sides.
03:20 That's a lot of S's.
03:21 There's this one.
03:22 And then there's also this one here that has the skull that has sort of the, I swear I've seen this image somewhere from before.
03:28 Anybody has any ideas, let me know down below in the comment section.
03:31 But these are basically all just stickers, very large stickers.
03:33 You can peel these off.
03:34 In kind of a way, I do wish that the stickers could have been cut out around the shape.
03:38 Just that that's a lot of real estate space.
03:40 If you ever want to stick this inside of a book, I mean, if you ever put that on a front or back of a sketchbook,
03:44 that's usually where I put a lot of my stickers.
03:46 That would just take up like basically one quarter of my sketchbook.
03:49 It was a pretty small book.
03:51 I kind of, again, wish that they could have made these cut out around the actual shape.
03:54 But I know just by the production of producing these stickers, it's so much easier just to kind of produce like a rectangular shape.
04:00 Why are we spending so much time talking about stickers?
04:02 Let's not.
04:03 Let's instead rather look at the other accessories that come included with the Necromancer.
04:06 The first one being this really interesting looking shield.
04:09 It looks like the wing of a bat.
04:11 Yet, if you look at the top of it, though, there's like a little trophy here, a section of all these various skulls of sizes.
04:17 The one on the top is obviously the biggest.
04:19 Then you get to like the little baby bear and mama bears on the sides.
04:22 And you've got several different skulls on either side here.
04:24 It's really interesting.
04:26 This looks right up, like this looks exactly like the kind of thing McFarlane was doing back in the day with movie maniacs.
04:30 Remember those display stands that would hold the poster?
04:32 I mean, how does that not look like those original stands?
04:35 Even like even the color is about the same as well.
04:37 The color does change a little bit here when you get to the scales.
04:39 They're kind of painted kind of more of a metallic silver.
04:42 That's the inside.
04:43 There's the shield that's going to hold with a handle.
04:45 The handle can fit into really either one of his hands.
04:47 Just because this arm was kind of more in a straight post, I usually like to put the shield on this hand.
04:52 Although, even with the plastic fingers being softer, I still had a real hard time to kind of get the shield around it.
04:58 He sort of just cups it.
05:00 He doesn't even hold it as much.
05:02 It really is the problem with these fingers, because they're kind of all independent from one another.
05:06 If you look at them, see how all the fingers are all separate from one another?
05:09 These sausage fingers are then very hard to kind of get inside the handle grip here of the shield.
05:14 So again, you kind of have to pry the fingers a little bit away from themselves.
05:17 And then just kind of tuck the shield in there.
05:19 And you know, he again, he holds it, but he doesn't hold it very well at all.
05:22 And while he's holding the shield, let's look at the other things.
05:25 Comes with, I'm guessing this to be a smaller sickle.
05:28 Again, it's kind of got like a more rustic, almost even rusted look to it.
05:32 Really nicely molded here and cast in kind of a dark gunmetal gray.
05:36 The handle portion, or the handle part of the section here, is actually,
05:39 it looks like it's been wrapped around with like a leather or a hide.
05:42 And again, this can fit into his hands as well.
05:44 This is one of my favorite accessories, in fact, that come included with the Necromancer.
05:47 I just think it's a really neat looking accessory.
05:49 Unfortunately, though, really with the problems with all of these figures, I've noticed is,
05:53 once you decide really, because he only has two hands after all,
05:55 once you decide really what weapons you want to have him wielding,
05:58 there's really no other places on the figure that can store these accessories.
06:01 It would have been just great if you had flipped the figure around.
06:04 I know it's like a little hook or something on the back,
06:06 where you could actually have a place to store the sickle or scythe.
06:09 Just can't do that.
06:10 Speaking of scythes, the figure also comes included with a very much longer scythe,
06:13 that has a little bit more of a smoother blade.
06:15 Ooh, I should never really joke about that.
06:17 He has a more smoother blade to the top, though,
06:19 and yet you can see kind of these little indentations,
06:22 little parts of the metal that have broken off over time.
06:25 And again, like the handle is kind of more of done here in a brown plastic.
06:28 So I'm guessing like this part's probably been painted,
06:30 the rest of it's all been left behind to the brown plastic.
06:32 And again, that can fit into either one of his hands as well.
06:35 The last thing that the figure comes included with
06:38 is that he comes with an alternate head sculpt.
06:40 And just, though, before we do that,
06:42 let's take the mystery item out of his hand on one side,
06:44 remove the shield on the other, which really isn't that hard of a thing to do.
06:47 We're going to put that to the side.
06:49 First, this is the defaulted head sculpt,
06:51 but in this case, I feel it's almost the better of the two heads,
06:54 because what he gets as an alternative, if I can actually hold it,
06:57 is this one right here that sort of has a skull face
07:00 that's wrapped or covered with a cloak.
07:03 This one really is the better, I feel, of the two.
07:05 In a way, it kind of reminds me of like the ringwraiths.
07:07 Before they become ringwraiths in "Lord of the Rings,"
07:09 somebody might just say they look nothing like--
07:11 he doesn't look anything like that. I think he does.
07:13 He's got a bit of a crown there. He's also got the horns there on the side,
07:16 and a really sinister skeletal face.
07:18 He has a skeletal face, but so much of it is covered anyways.
07:21 Again, to change the heads, it's just a case of popping off the head
07:24 that we have right now and pop the new head in place.
07:27 It also kind of, in a way-- I want to make sure I've got this face in the right way--
07:30 it does also, in a way, make this guy look now like an executioner.
07:33 Remember back in the day when-- everybody remembers these times, I'm sure.
07:37 I'm dating myself by talking about executioners.
07:40 Remember back in the day whenever we saw a series and it was an executioner
07:43 by the guillotine, he'd always have sort of a thing
07:45 that was covering over the front of his face.
07:47 This looks a little bit like that.
07:49 You still get kind of the impression of the eye sockets,
07:51 where the nasal cavity would be, and you get just that little indication
07:55 of what would be his skeletal teeth.
07:57 Very interesting, but I don't think, honestly, it's better than this one right here.
08:01 I just think this is the better of the two head sculpts.
08:03 So even though this is really the one that comes as an altered head sculpt,
08:06 it kind of looks a little bit like Cobra Commander this way as well.
08:08 I'm just only going to be ultimately popping it off anyways
08:11 and putting back in the defaulted head.
08:13 Now, when you are putting it back in, by the way,
08:15 that they've actually designed the peg, it can only go really one way.
08:18 If you look at the inside, it's not really quite an actual rectangular shape.
08:22 There's a corner that's been cut off on the side.
08:24 So when you're putting it in, you can't put it facing forward.
08:27 It has to be turned to the side here.
08:29 I'm just going to pop it in place.
08:31 I want to make sure I get it all the way on there
08:32 so the head's not going to roll away on me.
08:34 For the figure's base, it is actually the exact same base
08:36 as what we've got already with the Diablo IV figures.
08:39 Bringing back in the landslide druid so you can see,
08:41 they're exactly the same.
08:43 They're cast exactly the same in plastic,
08:45 and they're washed the same with the darker black paint over top of it.
08:48 They look really good.
08:49 I mean, it keeps one thing good,
08:50 is that they're all kind of consistent with one another.
08:52 If you have, say, this one on the shelf,
08:54 you have this along with the Hydra Lightning Sorceress
08:56 and the landslide druid.
08:57 I'm only really listing those off
08:58 because those are the only ones we've looked at so far here on this channel.
09:01 At least there's the consistency with all the stands sort of looking the same.
09:04 Though getting back, getting a closer look now at the Necromancer,
09:07 I've really, again, liked the look of this figure quite a lot.
09:09 The Bone Spirit Necromancer certainly does live up to the fact
09:12 he does have a lot of bones on him,
09:14 not only a skeletal face you can see there once again with the crown,
09:17 but he's also got these cool little skulls
09:19 adorned on the side shoulder pad that he has here as well.
09:23 He has these spikes.
09:25 The spikes are actually a fairly soft plastic,
09:27 so if it was something you'd be worrying about
09:29 that these would be eventually breaking,
09:31 you don't have to really worry as much.
09:32 They're using a pretty soft plastic.
09:34 He has kind of a rib cage there, a front armor piece.
09:37 He's also got some armor, it looks like, on the sides of his arms as well.
09:40 Again, it's a really interesting looking figure.
09:42 I would almost even say, in fact I will say,
09:45 this is my favorite figure I've looked at so far from Diablo IV.
09:48 Now there are a few little variations of figures that we will be looking at,
09:51 kind of slight re-skins essentially of the Diablo IV figures we've already had a look at,
09:55 but I really like the look of this one.
09:57 This one's got some really interesting elements to him,
09:59 some cool details, and certainly a lot of interesting paint there as well.
10:02 The silvers work really well,
10:04 and he's got some additional purples there down below for what will be his skirting,
10:07 and he's got all this interesting chain mail as well.
10:09 So even the parts that really are just silver,
10:11 because there's a lot of real silver happening on this figure,
10:13 the elements though and what they've sculpted into all the limbs, for example, and the legs,
10:17 there's just a lot to take in with your eyes.
10:19 Once again, these figures aren't going to have any articulation whatsoever.
10:22 Even if you were to say the figure had head articulation,
10:25 that's only just by the fact that if you have it only just resting on top of the peg,
10:29 then you can kind of turn it a little bit,
10:30 but really the idea in mind is that they always have to be looking the exact same.
10:33 In this case, he's only going to be looking always the same way,
10:36 but man, it's a nice looking figure.
10:37 Let's get this guy armored up with a few little accessories.
10:40 I did talk earlier about the fact I really like the scythe.
10:42 Let's go with that sickle.
10:43 We'll get the sickle in his hand,
10:45 and maybe what we'll do for the other hand, literally on the other hand,
10:48 we'll take the mystery item, this little hook part that he has.
10:50 It really does have like an Egyptian look to it.
10:52 I'm going to get that also into his other hand, so he's wielding weapons on both sides.
10:56 The shield looks good really too,
10:57 but the shield has a hard time just because of the way the hands work.
11:00 They're very spindly hands, they're very rubbery hands,
11:03 and they're kind of really hard to him holding the shield,
11:05 but I kind of wish that there was other places on these figures
11:08 where they could have stored the additional accessories.
11:10 More than not, if anything, for the Necromancer,
11:12 just because he's got so many cool accessories,
11:14 I feel almost in a way bad that I have to put anyone's back in the bag
11:17 just because he's got so many cool accessories.
11:19 Once again, we're just going to slide this guy over.
11:22 We're going to put back in.
11:23 I didn't have right now the Hydra Lightning Sourcer.
11:25 I just got her off to the side,
11:26 but I did want to kind of bring in a very similar, again, I said similar size figure.
11:29 I mean, clearly this is the case where the Landslide Druid is quite a lot bigger than the Necromancer,
11:34 but if you want to make bigger, bulkier figures,
11:36 I mean, really the stuff that we're getting here from Diablo 4 McFarlane Toys,
11:39 it really is not a line necessarily where you have to follow Diablo 4.
11:43 If you are a novice and you have no idea even what the series or the game is all about,
11:47 I think you're still interested,
11:49 or I feel at least I would still be interested in getting a line of figures,
11:52 though really not really figures because, again,
11:54 they don't have any posability possessed at all.
11:56 They are still really interesting statues you can put on the shelf.
11:59 I did say, though, that there was no posability possessed by any of these Diablo 4 figures,
12:04 and that's not really 100% true.
12:06 And before you start to call me a fibber face,
12:08 the figure does technically also have swiveling hands.
12:11 That basically represents the only parts of posability that the figure does actually have.
12:15 It does at least allow me to rotate the hands a little bit better for him to hold the shield on the other hand,
12:19 instead of the one I was started the reviews with.
12:21 I've got the figure now displayed also with the alternate head sculpt,
12:24 which again does give him certainly those executioner vibes, at least for me,
12:27 and the figures also got displayed on the other side, his very long scythe.
12:31 Neat looking figure.
12:32 This would be also one of the other ones that we've already had a look at,
12:35 the Hydra Lightning Sorceress and the Landslide Druid.
12:38 I think this would be one I would be considering to get another one,
12:40 so I could have them displayed in two different ways.
12:43 To be honest, though, I do like the kind of hood that he has over top of his face.
12:46 It does kind of give him this really interesting eerie vibe,
12:49 where everything is kind of outlined around the skeletal face underneath,
12:52 and does, to be also fair, match the colors that he has in his skirting down below there as well.
12:56 But honestly, really, between the two heads,
12:58 I prefer the one that we started the review with,
13:00 the one that sort of has that crown and skeletal face fully visible,
13:03 but the option, at least with these figures, is that you can change and mix and match them.
13:07 You don't have to necessarily commit to the idea of displaying the figures
13:10 with the way that they came out of the packaging.
13:12 You can easily swap them out.
13:13 You can't necessarily swap around the heads, although I really haven't tried it.
13:16 I know, though, looking at the Landslide Druid, he had a very large peg.
13:19 There's no way that would accommodate the Necronmancer that we've looked at in this review.
13:23 What do you guys think of the figure?
13:24 Let me know down below in the comments section.
13:26 As I already mentioned, this guy is available both online and in stores.
13:30 Online, they go--at least these figures go for $29.99, so about $30.
13:34 I would imagine it'd probably be about the same in stores as well.
13:36 I haven't been able to find these anywhere in Canadian stores, at least,
13:40 but if you guys are finding these in your U.S. stores,
13:42 let me know down below in the comments section what the price point for these guys are actually going for.
13:46 Big thank you, once again, to the folks over at McFarland Toys
13:48 that did provide the sample of the brand-new Diablo IV Bone Spirit Necronmancer
13:52 that we had the chance to have a look at in this review.
13:54 If you guys enjoyed this video, I want to hit it with a like.
