00:00Hello there, there's been quite a different feel to the weather today and things have
00:04turned much more autumnal. Temperatures coming down and quite a lot of wet and cloudy weather
00:09in the south. That's due to the passage of this cold front that we've had through the
00:13day today and that's introduced a northerly flow across the UK which introduced some fresher
00:18and cooler air and that's going to have an impact on our temperatures over the next couple
00:22of days. Any lingering cloud and rain down to the south and east is gradually going to
00:26clear away and in behind it plenty of clear skies and much drier weather from much of
00:31the UK. Still some showers feeding in mainly to coastal spots and some may just drift through
00:36the Cheshire Gap introducing some showers in and around Wales as well. Slightly breezier
00:41in and around these showers but further inland winds are going to be allowed to fall quite
00:45light and that's going to allow temperatures to drop away pretty quickly through the first
00:49part of the overnight. Most towns and cities getting down into single figures and rural
00:54spots could drop even lower with a chance of an air frost across northern England and parts
00:58of Scotland as well which is not something we've seen much of so far this autumn.
01:04Through Thursday itself although it will be a chilly start it is going to be a much drier
01:08and brighter start than what we saw through this morning. Plenty of dry weather around
01:12and sunny spells. Still some showers feeding into one or two spots but these should die away
01:16pretty quickly. Through the afternoon it's going to turn more unsettled from the west as
01:21this band of cloud and rain moves across Northern Ireland bringing a pretty wet lunchtime period
01:25here before gradually pushing in to Northern Scotland. Further south and east plenty of dry
01:31and bright weather around with the best of the sunshine here which is going to let temperatures
01:35to rise to 16 degrees Celsius so in and around average for the time of year but might feel
01:39particularly chilly underneath that cloud and rain further north and west. Through Thursday
01:45evening this cloud and rain continues to move south and eastwards and it's going to bring
01:49quite a wet overnight period for Thursday. Some quite heavy bursts in and around Cumbria
01:54and across parts of Wales and these are going to continue into Friday morning. Pretty brisk
01:59winds here as well but underneath all of that cloud and rain and helped by the wind it is
02:04going to be a milder night to come on Friday with temperatures staying up in double figures
02:08for many towns and cities particularly further south. A pretty wet start to the day on Friday
02:14with some pretty heavy outbreaks of rain particularly across parts of Northern Wales and across the
02:18northwest of England as well but gradually through the day it is going to turn drier and brighter
02:23from the northwest as some fresher air is introduced once again. Showers here with temperatures coming
02:30down slightly lower however further south where we have got that northwesterly breeze developing
02:35temperatures are going to be allowed to rise once more getting up potentially to 19 degrees celsius
02:40or even 20. That's all from ourselves for the moment but for more on what's to come for the weekend's
