00:05A bit of a messy mix for a Monday.
00:08Some warmth across the south.
00:09We did start off with some fog further north.
00:11Got a weather front approaching and the isobars squidging together,
00:15bringing some gusty conditions.
00:16But actually also later on some afternoon sunshine across parts of northern Scotland.
00:21Where this front lies, it is providing some outbreaks of rain across the north of Northern Ireland
00:25and spreading through the central belt during lunchtime,
00:27drifting southwards slowly down towards Belfast
00:32and also starting to clear from Glasgow during the afternoon.
00:35Brighter skies follow across eastern Scotland, along with a few blustery showers.
00:39Some damp and drizzly conditions over the higher ground of Wales and northwest England,
00:44but most of England and Wales staying dry.
00:46We did start off with quite a bit of mist, low cloud, fog across the south,
00:49breaking up to reveal some afternoon sunshine.
00:52And where we see that sunshine, well, temperatures getting up to 22, 23, maybe 24 Celsius,
00:57behind that cold front, the air is much fresher.
01:00So temperatures here more likely to be 15 or 16 degrees Celsius.
01:04But certainly for most of England and Wales, another pretty mild day for this time of October.
01:09Now, that weather front continues to sink south and kind of break up as it does so,
01:13but may well see some more rain returning to parts of Northern Ireland later in the night.
01:18It stays a bit damp across parts of Cumbria.
01:21Elsewhere, again, many places having a dry night in the far south of England.
01:24And temperatures dip down to single figures, but we're also likely to see, again,
01:28some mist and some fog patches, which could be quite dense for Tuesday morning.
01:32Some chilly conditions in northern Scotland as well, down to single figures here.
01:36Most towns and cities where it stays cloudy will hold up in double figures, if not into the teens.
01:42So, again, quite a messy picture for Tuesday.
01:45The central zone, fairly cloudy with some rain and drizzle.
01:48Some thick patches of mist and fog in the south initially, taking a while to clear.
01:53Now we're getting to this part of October.
01:55But once it has gone, we'll see plenty of sunny spells across the south.
01:59Thickest cloud for Northern Ireland and some outbreaks of rain pepping up, I suspect, as we go into the afternoon.
02:04So turning quite soggy, perhaps in Belfast.
02:07A few showers again in northern Scotland, but a good part of Scotland dry and bright during much of Tuesday.
02:12Again, temperatures above 20 Celsius across the south.
02:16We may get to 23, 24 again if it stays sunny for most of the day in this cloudier zone
02:21amidst to high teens.
02:23The cooler air further north, but there will at least be some decent spots of sunshine here,
02:27along with a few showers zipping through on the breeze.
02:30Now, we do need to watch this area of rain.
02:31It's likely to pep up a little bit as we go through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
02:36Initially across northern England, then into Wales.
02:38It could bring some useful rain as we go into Wednesday across much of eastern England.
02:44For more on that, you'll want to watch our full week ahead forecast with Alex Burkill.
02:49And that'll be available on our YouTube channel.
