00:00It's that time of year where foggy or even frosty mornings are possible, but so are some afternoon warmth.
00:07And we are continuing to see that in some areas as we go through Tuesday.
00:11The central slice of the country, a lot of cloud.
00:14Some outbreaks of rain, nothing too heavy, but damp and drizzly over parts of northwest England, the hills of West
00:19Wales.
00:20A few showery outbreaks getting into Northern Ireland and a few showers continuing over the highlands.
00:24But much of central and eastern Scotland will be largely clear overnight and quite a bit colder than it was
00:30on Sunday night.
00:31A chill in the far south of England as well.
00:34And it's here where we could well see some dense mist and fog patches forming, which may well linger well
00:39through Tuesday mornings at Russia.
00:42So a bit of a mishmash during Tuesday.
00:43Still a lot of cloud over Northern England, Wales, Southern Scotland and Northern Ireland with some outbreaks of rain.
00:49The mist and fog will take a while to clear in the south, but once it has, we should again
00:53see quite a bit of pretty warm sunshine.
00:56Further north, the air is cooler, but again, quite a bit of sunshine for eastern Scotland and some sunny spells
01:01for the highlands and the Western Isles,
01:03with just a few showers zipping through here on a brisk wind, although the wind's not as strong as on
01:08Monday.
01:08The rain may pep up across parts of Northern Ireland, particularly through the east,
01:13and we'll keep this cloudier zone with some light rain and drizzle on and off for a good chunk of
01:18the day.
01:19The sunshine makes a big difference.
01:21Still a little bit of power in it, even though we are past the equinox and we could still see
01:25temperatures getting into the low 20s
01:27with some sunshine over the southeastern corner.
01:29Further north, we're in the cooler air.
01:3113, 14 degrees is more typical for the time of year.
01:35Now, the rain could pep up a little bit as we go through Tuesday evening initially over Northern Ireland,
01:40but clearing quite quickly from here, then spreading into northern England and developing more widely further south as well.
01:46The potential for some heavy bursts of rain to come up from the south,
01:49and these two rainy areas may actually then start to merge.
01:53With all the cloud and the mild air still in place, another warm night here,
01:57but a pretty chilly one further north with temperatures widely down to single figures,
02:01and rural spots may not be too far from freezing to start Wednesday.
02:05So a bit of a scrap going on between the warm air in the south and the cooler air further
02:09north.
02:09This weather front and the weather systems moving north from France likely to merge together
02:14to bring potentially some very useful rain across central and eastern England.
02:18It has, of course, been very dry, and this rain welcomed by gardeners, no doubt.
02:24Still a bit of uncertainty about the extent and the intensity,
02:27but it could be quite a dismal, soggy day over central and eastern England during Wednesday.
02:32Brighter skies following across northern England and Wales,
02:35with a few showers coming into the north and the west.
02:38And look at where the winds are coming from by this stage.
02:40So cooler air definitely pushing in.
02:42Still quite warm and humid across the southeast at this stage,
02:45but wet weather should then pull away to allow quite a cold night on Wednesday night.
02:51For more details on that and how the rest of the week is looking,
02:54you want a full week ahead video.
