00:00In some parts of the country, particularly southern, eastern parts of England, lots of people are calling out for some
00:07much-needed rain.
00:08And, well, we do have some significant rain to come tomorrow.
00:12There is a bit of rain around at the moment.
00:14Earlier on, we had outbreaks of rain across western parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, some northern parts of England and
00:19Wales.
00:19There's also some drizzly rain mixed in with the fog across some southern areas.
00:23But there is also some dry weather to be had currently.
00:27Now, as we go through this afternoon, the front that's bringing outbreaks of rain across parts of Northern Ireland, Northern
00:33England and Wales,
00:33that will edge a little bit further southwards, but it's not going to make a huge amount of progress.
00:37So staying pretty cloudy, damp at times, perhaps even some heavier bursts of rain over northwest England.
00:43Also, there will still be further showers across northern and western parts of Scotland.
00:47And then towards the south, to the south of that front, actually a fair amount of bright weather, any fog
00:53that we have currently, that will clear and lift away.
00:56The sun will come out, and whilst there will be some sherry bursts of rain towards the far southwest of
01:01England, the tip of Cornwall, for most in the south, it's looking fine.
01:05And we still have warm air across us.
01:08To the south of this front, we have some significantly warm air, so temperatures once more peaking in the low
01:1320s, highs around 22, 23 Celsius, so feeling very warm indeed for the time of year.
01:18A different story, though, further north, fresher air here, keeping temperatures to around the mid-teens, so a fresher feel
01:24for sure.
01:25That front, as I mentioned, is edging southwards, but as it goes, it is also going to have a bit
01:31of a wave along it, and that wave's then likely to lead to the rain invigorating, pepping up a little
01:37bit.
01:38So, as we go through Wednesday, some heavier bursts of rain, quite likely, as well as some fairly persistent rain
01:44across east and south-eastern England.
01:46Before that, though, through the end of the day, fine for a little while across southern England, but cloud and
01:52rain building from the south, and we stick with the rain across some central northern parts of England and Wales
01:57as well,
01:57and more showers coming in to north and western parts of Scotland, also northern Ireland.
02:02But here we have that fresher air and some clear skies in between the showers, so temperatures dropping relatively low,
02:07a touch of frost quite likely in some rural spots, more built-up areas, staying a few degrees above freezing.
02:14But in the south, with the cloud and the rain across much of England and Wales, it's going to be
02:18a mild night, temperatures holding up in double digits quite widely here.
02:22So, a cloudy, wet start for much of England and Wales. That rain, though, shifting east and southwards, and as
02:29a result, as it peps up and turns heavier,
02:32it's going to be across parts of east Anglia, south-east England, the London area, where we're going to see
02:36the heaviest rain through Wednesday.
02:38Could see in excess of 50 millimetres, perhaps, in some places. That's a substantial amount of rain, and more rain
02:44than we've seen here for quite a while.
02:46Elsewhere, showers continuing to come in from the north-west, so mainly affecting northern and western parts of Scotland,
02:52but some for northern Ireland and some for western parts of England and Wales as well.
02:56There will be some brighter spells in between the showers, even some sunshine, but we have that fresher air coming
03:01in,
03:01so temperatures quite widely down a couple of degrees compared to Tuesday,
03:05and actually for some southern, southeastern parts, down by around 5 to 8 degrees in some places,
03:11so a real fresher feel, feeling more autumnal, more standard for the time of year.
03:15That rain in the southeast will eventually clear, but it takes a wee while to do so,
03:19so not until the evening across some southeastern parts.
03:23And then, whilst there will be more showers to come through the end of the day,
03:26it will be turning drier because of a ridge of high pressure that's building in.
03:29So Thursday's likely to get off to a bit of a chilly start, but mostly dry,
03:33before more rain arrives in time for Friday.
03:35We'll have more information about that across our YouTube channel.
03:38Thank you for watching. Have a great day.
