00:00Hello there, good afternoon.
00:02Brolleys were certainly required this morning after quite a wet start in places, even where
00:06we saw some sunshine to start today, it's probably worth keeping your brolleys close
00:10by as we're still expecting some showers.
00:12Certainly across western Scotland, Northern Ireland, also parts of northwest England,
00:17some areas of Wales could see the odd shower or two.
00:20Quite a lot of rain still across eastern and south-eastern areas of England, that's going
00:24to linger there through much of the day, some heavier outbreaks at times, we're expecting
00:28quite a lot of rain to fall, so there could be some surface water issues, but obviously
00:33well needed rain after a very dry summer.
00:36Elsewhere it will be dry, there'll be some sunny spells in places, perhaps a bit breezy, especially
00:40along some southern coasts, feeling a bit cooler in that northerly wind as well, and temperatures
00:45overall down compared to yesterday, mostly in the low to mid-teens, finally saying goodbye
00:50to the temperatures into the low 20s.
00:53Now for some areas of the southeast, they'll hold on to the rain for a little bit longer
00:57before it eventually clears away into the evening.
00:59There will still also be some showers, but these will become mostly confined to coastal
01:04areas across the UK, that means many inland areas will remain dry, there'll be clear skies,
01:09winds turning lighter, so that does mean things are going to turn chilly overnight, possibly
01:14seeing some grass frost in Scotland, northern areas of England, most towns and cities in the
01:19mid to high single figures.
01:21But it does mean it'll be a much drier start to Thursday, bright with some sunshine even
01:25though it will feel that bit chillier.
01:27There'll still be some showers around coasts, but most of these will ease away by the afternoon.
01:31Gradually turning more unsettled from the northwest, areas of rain pushing into Northern Ireland,
01:36western Scotland, perhaps just about pushing into coasts of Wales by the afternoon as well.
01:41And even if we don't see any rain, it's likely to cloud over across eastern Scotland,
01:44northern England and parts of Wales later into the day, with the best of the sunshine holding on
01:49across the south and southeast.
01:52Fairly similar temperatures as well, but likely feeling quite chilly, particularly under the cloud
01:56and rain towards the north. Temperatures only reaching around 12 to 13 degrees, highs likely
02:01reaching around 15 to 16 across parts of the south and southeast.
02:06Now into the evening, this band of rain will continue to skirt its way south and eastward,
02:10still some heavy bands of rain at times and turning quite blustery amongst any heavier downpours.
02:16That does mean with the added cloud and rain, the breeze, things won't be turning quite as chilly
02:20overnight, so likely quite a mild start to Friday. And Friday itself, as a result of a warm front
02:25moving through, will be a little bit warmer. Then once that cold front moves through, we say hello
02:30once again to the northwesterly flow into the weekend, which means we will see some showers,
02:35but a ridge of high pressure also means plenty of brighter interludes as well. And it's likely
02:39we'll see a return of the chillier nights as well, with some clearer skies over the weekend.
02:44Now if you want a bit more information about this weekend's weather or even further ahead,
02:48well you can catch Alex Birkhill later on YouTube with the 10 Day Trend.
