00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning. Showery outside this morning with some sunshine
00:05coming through and then all eyes are on the Atlantic as we see more cloud and rain move in. However
00:11through this morning a slight ridge allowing shower activity through the day to dampen down before thickening cloud brings outbreaks
00:18of rain towards the west. The winds then pick up as you can see low pressure sitting towards the north
00:23of the UK. A squeeze on the ice bars into Thursday so strong winds across the north and further showery
00:28bursts lightly.
00:29Again some of brighter breaks likely as we head through the next few days before another area of cloud and
00:35rain moves in. Now first thing this morning a rash of showers across the northeast has gotten clearer skies across
00:41central areas and those showers moving in on that northwest wind across northern Ireland the Isle of Man as well
00:47as north channel coast towards Scotland. Those showers also for the Midlands, Wales, the west country, northwest England brighter skies
00:55further east but notice with this northwest wind just scraping
00:59the east coast you could see a shower here as well. So as we head through the morning despite frequent
01:05showers across the northeast of Scotland through the first part of the day and further showers across the west we
01:10will see them becoming a bit more scattered. Certainly some fine weather first thing across western and central parts of
01:16Scotland with some sunshine.
01:17So through the afternoon you can see where these showers are. They'll develop further east across central and eastern areas
01:24of England. Brighter skies across eastern Scotland before more cloud arrives further west and then eventually some outbreaks of rain.
01:31A few showers breaking out ahead of this rain band. The winds also will eventually pick up some strength and
01:37a bit of a breeze down towards the southwest peninsula southwestern areas of Wales.
01:41But a quieter end to the day with just a few showers with just a few showers and light showers
01:45at that further east and northeast. Here are your temperatures then as we head through the afternoon. Probably the mid
01:52-teens across the north. 19 or 20 we've lost the humidity. It's a fresher feel to things and a cooler
02:00night to come.
02:01Into Wednesday evening and overnight then. Well we watch as this rain moves in. It's moving quite quickly with a
02:07strong wind. Strong touching gale force for a time across exposed coasts into Wednesday evening this evening and overnight as
02:16the rain sweeps down towards northern England, Wales as well as the west country.
02:20Showers then follow and these showers will be blustery with that strong wind. And eventually into the early hours of
02:26Thursday morning we'll see some rain across the Midlands, the west country, southeastern areas of Wales, the southeast of England,
02:33an overhang of cloud.
02:34Clearer skies by this point eastern parts of Scotland, northern England, but frequent showers particularly across the north and the
02:40west of Northern Ireland. Quite a strong wind particularly across coastlines across Scotland and then also those frequent showers.
02:50So temperatures are through into the early hours of Thursday morning, probably 9 or 10 across Scotland, 12 for Northern
02:57Ireland and there will be some mildness in the air with that clouds and the rain, the canopy of clouds.
03:03So 14, 15 but fresher further north as that cloud clears.
03:08So through Thursday we are expecting those showers to cluster together across the north and the west of Scotland. So
03:15some higher rainfall totals here, some heavier downpours likely.
03:19Frequent showers across the north of Northern Ireland. Here's that rain, one or two heavier pulses can't be ruled out
03:25first thing. If you're travelling you may encounter some wet weather, but it is clearing towards the southeast.
03:30And then some sunshine comes through before the cloud builds through the middle part of the day across England and
03:35Wales.
03:36And notice these showers will be frequent, heavy with the risk of thunder across the north as well as the
03:41west of Scotland.
03:41But with the strength of the wind, they'll hop over the highlands towards more eastern areas and you could catch
03:46some across northern England as well.
03:48Scattered showers for Northern Ireland through the afternoon with that brisk breeze and that breeze will have some strength to
03:54it across Irish seacoast and again down towards the southwest.
03:57But some brighter weather to end the day across the midlands, the southeast of England as we lose the rain
04:03it clears towards the low countries.
04:05And here are your temperatures, probably 20 once the sun comes out across the southeast of England.
04:11Generally speaking the mid-teens yet again and feeling fresh in that wind across the north and the west of
04:16Scotland with those frequent downpours.
04:20So that's Thursday afternoon for you. As we head through to the next few days it looks like this.
04:26We'll see some fine weather across more eastern areas, some dry conditions, just a few light showers before cloud and
04:32rain just moves in later on.
04:34And that brings some wet weather through Friday night and into Saturday.
04:39So Saturday, yes, we'll see some rain, it will clear, some showers to follow and temperatures on the up slightly,
04:4616 to 21 degrees Celsius.
04:48There'll be a little bit more warmth in the air. Wherever you are, have a great Wednesday and I'll see
04:53you again soon.
