00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Friday morning, which will turn wet
00:04for many as we head through the day. For the time being, though, yes, we are seeing summer
00:10brighter skies. These showers drift across Scotland, clearing northern England as more
00:14cloud and rain arrives by around 8 or 9 a.m. for Northern Ireland and then Western Scotland.
00:21Notice the winds will pick up some strength as well. However, through this morning, you'll
00:25see some sunshine across England and Wales, Eastern Scotland as well, with more showers
00:30across the far north of Scotland and that fresh wind. So through this morning, we watch as
00:36this cloud and rain continues its passage eastwards as well as southeastwards. So thickening cloud
00:42brings outbreaks of rain to many parts of England and Wales. However, notice some breaks still
00:48in the south and southeast. So some sunshine here, although the winds will also pick up.
00:53Now, this rain through this afternoon could turn heavy in places, certainly with that
00:58fresh wind and temperatures struggling under the cloud and also that wet weather, 15 or
01:0416 degrees Celsius. But in the sunshine, 19 to 22 Celsius. So that's the picture through
01:10this afternoon. If you're travelling through this evening, you may need an umbrella, certainly
01:14some wet weather around before it clears. And then showers will follow. So showers could turn
01:20heavy across Scotland as well as Northern Ireland with a strong wind into Saturday morning. We
01:26see a trailing front bringing cloud and also some outbreaks of rain, perhaps some drier skies
01:32to start the weekend across the East Midlands, East Anglia, as well as the southeast and some
01:38brighter breaks also for eastern parts of Scotland in shelter. But this cloud and this rain will drift
01:44southwards through the day on Saturday. It will come and go. So not a washout by any means, but we
01:50will see more in the way of clouds and some damp conditions. But temperatures will hold as we head
01:55through into the beginning of the weekend. A mild start to the day, slightly more humid, fresher
02:01though across more northern and northeastern areas with the showers and stronger winds. So through
02:06Saturday, here are those showers. They'll be heavy clustering together to form longer spells of rain
02:11and that persistent southwest wind. At the same time, in shelter, places such as Belfast, Newry in
02:19Northern Ireland, perhaps even Berwick-upon-Tweed, Newcastle, seeing some breaks in the clouds allowing
02:25for some sunshine and a drier start to the day across the far southeast here. But in between this cloud
02:31and this rain will bring some rain and drizzle as we head through the morning and into the afternoon.
02:35And there will be some progress southwards through the day. At the same time, some sunshine appears
02:41in between the showers in the north, which will continue and this waving weather front further
02:46south, where we could see some bumps in the clouds, allowing for some pulses of rain through the
02:50afternoon as well. But temperatures will rise quite nicely, probably 19 to 22 across England and Wales.
02:59And further north, probably 14 or 15 exposed to that wind. But for Northern Ireland, 17 or 18
03:04Celsius, a similar situation across the far north of England, southern parts of Scotland.
03:09So that's the picture on Saturday. That front eventually clears as we head through to Sunday.
03:15And what that means, we'll lose the wind. We gain some brighter skies, if not some sunshine,
03:20before the cloud thickens from the west later on. Wherever you are,
