Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It's a wet start for many, with a brisk breeze this band of rain has been moving in overnight from
00:10the southwest as the winds pick up some strength.
00:13The air remains relatively mild through today though, but we will have that fresh breeze with outbreaks of rain extending
00:19northwards.
00:20Showers will follow and some of these showers are likely to be heavy with the risk of thunder and hail.
00:25Low pressure sits towards the northwest of the UK into Wednesday, hence yet again we will see a showery day.
00:33But high pressure trying to nudge in from the south, that means temperatures are on the up through the latter
00:38part of the week.
00:39Now through this morning if you are stepping out you may run into some wet weather, Scotland, northern England, eastern
00:44England, with further heavy showers further west and southwest.
00:50These showers will continue to just track in and develop in situ as we head through to lunchtime.
00:55At the same time, the rain becomes a bit more fragmented towards the north and we could hang on to
00:59some dry weather with a brisk breeze across the far north of Scotland for Shetland.
01:04Cool along this east coast of Scotland though, with some outbreaks of rain, you'll notice that along the coast of
01:09Aberdeenshire.
01:10Inland though, where you catch some sunshine, it will be strong.
01:13It will feel warm, but showers never too far away and they will continue through the afternoon and into evening
01:20time.
01:21They could cluster together to form a longer spell of heavier rain, thunder and hail, also possible in between some
01:28brighter conditions.
01:29Temperatures then 17, 18, 19 degrees Celsius, but probably only 11 along the east coast of Scotland and 10 across
01:37the far north of Scotland.
01:38Now through this evening and overnight, those showers will continue, so if you are travelling, you may run into a
01:44heavy downpour with a gusty wind.
01:47And with low pressure sitting towards the west of the UK, it remains showery into Wednesday yet again and some
01:54of these showers through the day on Wednesday could turn heavy.
01:57The wind will be brisk coming in from the south west into the early hours of Wednesday morning.
02:02Temperatures here probably only 10 to 12 degrees Celsius as we start the day and yet again you could run
02:08into some wet weather if you're stepping out first thing.
02:11Now through Wednesday, notice weather fronts close by.
02:14In between, we could see the cloud break up, allowing for some warm sunshine to come through.
02:19But that showery rain again will affect particularly more northern and western areas with some showers further south as well.
02:26Some of these showers again could be on the heavy side, but they'll be fairly scattered through Wednesday.
02:30A higher chance of seeing some dry weather, particularly towards the south.
02:35And that really marks a trend of some drying up and some drier weather across central and southeastern areas into
02:41Thursday.
02:42Whereas further west, we'll see some rain clip Wales, Midlands for a time, northern England, northern Ireland and push up
02:48towards the central belt on Thursday.
02:50This rain embedded within it could turn heavy in places, some drier, brighter, warmer weather further south.
02:56And this will help temperatures here up to 24 degrees Celsius.
02:59But even further north, you're likely to see 20 Celsius.
03:02Now on Friday, expect some showery bursts towards the west.
03:06Some drier skies further south, certainly southeast.
03:08And here temperatures could reach 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
03:12We'll keep you posted on all our social media channels.
03:15I'll see you again soon.
