00:00Hi there, finally many parts of the UK are getting the steady rain they need and it's certainly a wet
00:04start to the day for parts of North Wales, Northern England, Southern Scotland and Northern Ireland as this frontal system
00:10moves through.
00:10Now either side of that it's drier and it does clear through the morning leaving a showery picture for the
00:17afternoon and going into Thursday itself.
00:19But as we start the day, very wet for North Wales in particular, that heavy rain moving into parts of
00:25Lancashire and Cumbria and it's going to linger through parts of Northern England into the afternoon.
00:31But either side of that it's replaced by showers, frequent showers for Northern Ireland, Western England, Wales, fewer showers in
00:38the South East and indeed mostly dry for the Central Belt northwards with some decent spells of sunshine for Northern
00:44and Northwest and Scotland.
00:45Marked contrast compared with much of summer, of course, but with a brisk breeze and those showers moving through not
00:51feeling especially warm, temperatures close to the seasonal average.
00:55However, high humidities will mean that when the sun comes through, temperatures reaching 24, perhaps 25 Celsius in the South
01:03and South East, that's going to feel warmer.
01:06The north of Scotland always that much fresher.
01:09Now through the evening, the showers ease in many places, but a more organised band of rain pushes into Western
01:14Scotland.
01:14And then after midnight, it works its way north-eastwards across the country, clearing later on in the West and
01:21elsewhere across the UK.
01:22A few showers here and there, but mostly dry.
01:24A lot of cloud cover and because of those high humidities, it's going to be a warm night.
01:2818, 19 Celsius in the South, mid-teens further north.
01:32Now we start off Thursday with heavy rain clearing into north-east Scotland, sunshine following, but further showery rain affecting
01:40the south of the UK, especially to the south of the M4.
01:43In between, a lot of cloud, some showers, but also some bright spells, especially for the Midlands and eastern England.
01:49And where the sun comes to, we'll feel warm temperatures at or just above average.
01:55Further north, a little bit fresher once again, but once the heavy rain clears the north of the mainland, some
02:01sunshine comes through.
02:03Overnight, Thursday into Friday, there'll be some wetter weather again once more across this central swathe of the UK.
02:08That clears the showers on Friday.
02:10A very mixed weekend to come and into next week.
