00:01Hi there. Yet another week to come in which very little rainfall is expected across large
00:06parts of England and Wales. But it's not just England and Wales through the next few days
00:10where it will be predominantly dry. Further north into Scotland and Northern Ireland it
00:14turns drier as high pressure builds widely across the UK. That's going to allow the temperatures
00:19to rise day by day, although Monday, at least for southern parts of the UK, isn't quite
00:25as hot as Sunday when 33 Celsius was reached. Now there's still some showers and a keen
00:31breeze coming through for Shetland and Orkney. They'll ease during the day. A legacy of cloud
00:36for parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, north and northeast England. Otherwise it's
00:41bright, it's dry for the vast majority and long spells of sunshine are expected once again
00:46for many parts of southern UK. And that's where the highest temperatures will be once more.
00:51The mid to high 20s, widely. And I think the top temperature today most likely towards the
00:57far south and southeast, 28, possibly 29 Celsius. So a few degrees down compared with Sunday's
01:0333 Celsius. But very warm nevertheless further north. Feeling a bit warmer across Scotland
01:09compared with the weekend because of the, well, drier and brighter weather. But still mid to
01:14high teens and 20 Celsius in a few spots. So closer to average further north. Now we'll still
01:20see one or two showers in Shetland overnight. But further west across Scotland, some thicker
01:25cloud and some light patchy rain will reach the Western Isles. One or two showers elsewhere.
01:31Elsewhere it's just a dry and clear night. Despite the clear skies and the light winds in the south,
01:36it's going to be a warm night. Temperatures staying in the teens. Further north, double figures
01:40widely but in some shelter spots, dipping into the single figures. So widely dry and sunny
01:46once again across the UK on Tuesday morning. Plenty of sunshine through Northern Ireland,
01:51much of England and Wales, southern Scotland. We've got this thicker cloud moving through
01:54the north of Scotland but mainly just dribs and drabs of rain petering out through the
02:00day. And then with that high pressure in charge, it's once again widely dry and a touch warmer
02:07in places. So we're expecting the highest temperatures on Tuesday afternoon to be Western England and
02:12Wales. 29, possibly 30 Celsius. A little bit cooler for the east of England. Warmer for Scotland and
02:20Northern Ireland with temperatures reaching the mid-20s in places. And that dry weather across
02:26southern parts of the UK certainly continues through the rest of the week. Not the news that
02:30many people want to hear, I know, but that's what we're facing through the week ahead. And it's going
02:36to turn hotter once again. The next heat wave is already beginning. Temperatures by the middle of
02:43the week, Wednesday, Thursday, up into the mid-30s in the hotter spots across England and Wales. But
02:49it's going to turn a bit cloudier towards the northwest with some showery rain at times.
