00:00Hi there.
00:01Good morning.
00:01Classic May mix during the next day or even several days.
00:06Depending on where you are across the country, it's cool and showery or warm with some sunny
00:12spells.
00:13Certainly a cold start to the day once again across parts of northern UK.
00:17Plenty of shower clouds first thing.
00:20These showers tending to slowly move northwards, primarily affecting parts of Wales, the Midlands,
00:25and northern England by the afternoon, some heavier downpours developing as well.
00:29Brightest skies through southern parts of England and a warmer feel compared with recent days.
00:35Temperatures approaching 20 Celsius, significantly colder across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:41Certainly for northern Scotland, temperatures struggling to reach the double figures.
00:45A scattering of showers here, but some bright spells as well, whilst largely cloudy skies,
00:49albeit with dry weather, affects Northern Ireland.
00:52We end Friday with these showers moving through the Midlands, Wales, and then eventually becoming
00:57more restricted to northern England, the far south of Scotland.
01:01Further showers arriving into the north and northwest of Scotland on a brisk breeze.
01:06Lighter winds elsewhere, and under any clear skies, some patchy mist will form in places.
01:11Cloudiest conditions towards the far south and southwest.
01:14Perhaps a few spots of rain for Cornwall.
01:1610 Celsius here, but a frost possible once again across central and northern Scotland, Northern Ireland
01:21as well, where we've got the clearest skies.
01:24So chilly start here, but actually plenty of bright weather first thing behind this cold front.
01:29And this cold front bisects the country with plenty of warm weather in the south, albeit with some
01:35heavy, slow moving showers developing along the frontal zone through the day.
01:39And brighter weather, albeit with one or two showers arriving on a northerly wind for the far north of the
01:45UK.
01:46So big contrasts up and down the UK as we begin Saturday.
01:50And really by the afternoon, you can see these zones of interest.
01:54We've got bright but chilly with one or two showers for northern Scotland.
01:59Northern Ireland, mostly bright skies with sunny spells, but with a chilly wind.
02:05And then we've got warmer weather in the south.
02:08After a sunny start, it turns cloudy with some showers developing in the far south.
02:12But in the middle, where these two zones clash, a weather front bringing some persistent rain for
02:19northeast England and some slow moving downpours through parts of Wales, the North Midlands,
02:24South Pennines, parts of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
02:27These will be hit and miss, but where they do occur, because they'll be slow moving,
02:30could see a long period of heavy rain.
02:34Temperatures reaching 19 to 21 Celsius in the south, eight or nine for the north of Scotland.
02:39You can see those contrasts and this colder air, but brighter weather in the far north,
02:45winds out as we go through Sunday and into Monday as weather fronts move south across the UK,
02:51introducing Arctic air in many places.
02:54You can find all the latest details on YouTube, including the Met Office weekend forecast,
02:58to give you more details on Sunday's weather.
03:00Bye-bye.
