00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:01High pressure is very much dominating our weather pattern over the coming days, so most
00:05areas will see some fine settled weather, but it does mean we are expecting some mist
00:10and fog overnight, and that's certainly the case this evening.
00:12Some low cloud initially moving into eastern areas of Scotland, but it will soon spread
00:16westwards, pushing into parts of the Midlands, eastern areas of Wales and towards the north
00:21east of England here too.
00:22So a mix of some low cloud and also some clearer spells, but it's quite a different story towards
00:27the north west, quite cloudy here with some spells of rain, so that does mean it will
00:31be a little bit milder for these areas, but to the south of this rain turning that little
00:36bit chillier, most towns and cities around the mid to high single figures, but likely feeling
00:40quite chilly first thing to start on Saturday.
00:44Now some of this fog will be quite dense and slow to clear in places, certainly across the
00:48Midlands, eastern areas of Wales, the Vale of York for example could see a fair amount
00:52of slow to clear fog, but once it does by the afternoon it should be mostly dry, settled
00:57plenty of sunny intervals, towards the north west though, cloudier and rather soggy at
01:01times, especially towards western northern areas of Scotland, and then through the course
01:05of the day that rain will also push into areas of Northern Ireland.
01:09Temperatures fairly similar to what we've seen today, perhaps a touch down in some areas
01:13of the north, but highs still reaching around 16 degrees Celsius in the south.
01:18Now of course Saturday is Halloween, so some of us may be heading out trick or treating and
01:22I'm afraid it's going to be a bit of a damp Halloween for some areas of Scotland, though
01:26that rain will eventually clear the far north west.
01:28Rain will also clear away later Saturday evening for areas of Northern Ireland, so it will start
01:33to turn drier from the west.
01:35Towards the south of this rain it will be dry, but through the course of the evening that
01:39mist and low cloud will soon make a return.
01:42Much clearer skies across Scotland and Northern Ireland though, but just a few showers just
01:46starting to creep into coastal areas of Scotland, certainly towards the north and north west through
01:51the early hours of Sunday.
01:53Now clear skies to the north of this rain once again will allow those temperatures to dip
01:57away, so under any clear spells, particularly in rural areas, that's where it could feel
02:01quite chilly, but even across towns and cities towards the south where it could be quite foggy,
02:05it's probably still going to be quite a chilly start to Sunday.
02:08Now the remnants of that front will slowly sink its way southwards, but there will be very
02:12little rain on it by the time it reaches England and Wales, mostly some cloud, a few spots
02:17of rain, so a quite murky day for some areas, perhaps a few breaks later into the day towards
02:22the south.
02:23It's really towards the north of this cistern that we'll see the best of the sunny breaks,
02:26but even still a few showers pushing their way southwards around coastal areas of Scotland.
02:31We'll see a wind change to more of a northerly by Sunday, so that means temperatures not getting
02:36quite as high as they have done over the last few days, highs mostly around 12 to 13 degrees
02:40Celsius and in that breeze and under the cloud it's probably going to feel fairly chilly.
02:45That rain and cloud will eventually clear away from the south and that allows high pressure
02:50to build nicely across areas of the UK later Sunday and through into Monday, so that means
02:56certainly for the early part of next week there'll be very little rain, mostly dry and settled
03:00conditions, but with high pressure comes lighter winds and also further mist and fog.
03:05So do keep an eye out on the forecast, especially as there may be some short notice fog warnings
03:10issued overnight, otherwise that's it from me.
