00:00We're the Golden Kobe family. In this series, we're attempting to rescue 30 dogs in 30 days
00:05with your help, and this is how our morning went so far.
00:10Come on, Jockey. Good dogs.
00:14Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. Come on. Come on, Jockey out. Come on, Jockey out. Good girl.
00:20And we're picking up dog poo every single morning. Trust me, we don't want to do it,
00:25so we're bringing you guys along with us. And this is basically everything that happened last night.
00:29We settled down for the night, and this was when we decided to turn on Netflix
00:32and quickly realised the dogs have actually never seen a TV before.
00:36Good dogs. It's okay. It's okay. You're alright. Oh, you got Moki. Good girl.
00:45This is the first time ever watching something like this, so quite clearly, we needed to desensitise them.
00:51You can see Lola and Ivy weren't so sure of the TV.
00:54Kobe and Moki came to chill out as well, which probably helped to show them that the TV is fine.
00:59Lola and Ivy did eventually manage to get used to the TV.
01:02They even came up onto the sofa for a little sleep.
01:05We then got the dogs ready for bed, but getting Jockey into the crate is not easy.
01:10It's time to get this girl in her bed.
01:12Good girl. Come on.
01:15Slowly.
01:17We've managed to usher her in.
01:21And we give her some positive association.
01:24Last night was great because the dogs settled almost instantly this time.
01:29This is a video.
01:30They were just out.
01:31The dogs were completely asleep the entire night.
01:34And that brings us to this morning and breakfast time.
01:37And we're starting to get a little routine going on now.
01:40So food is ready and there is a method to this chaos.
01:43Come on, dogs.
01:46So we get Jockey in the conservatory.
01:48Hang on, Jockey.
01:48And then the first dogs we feed is Kobe and Moki because they take the longest because of their slow
01:54feeders.
01:54Kobe, go.
01:55Yes.
01:56Kobe and Moki, done.
01:58Okay.
01:59Ivy fed.
02:00Next one.
02:01Lola.
02:02Come on.
02:03Come on, Lola.
02:07Lola fed.
02:09Becca fed.
02:10And then last but not least, we've got Jockey.
02:14Come on.
02:15Come on, Jockey.
02:16Come on.
02:17Come on, Jockey.
02:18Come on.
02:20That's how you feed six dogs.
02:22So part of every morning, we clean out their bowls so that they're ready for dinner.
02:26And today, we've got Dilnaz, our professional dog behaviorist trainer, coming to do some work with Lola.
02:33No distance.
02:35And then use a treat.
02:38Lure her onto the bed.
02:42Yes.
02:43She's a bit more relaxed than Ivy, isn't she?
02:46Yeah.
02:47Yeah.
02:47Yes.
02:48She's so cute.
02:49She is so cute.
02:51Okay.
02:52So release.
02:53And then see if she'll make the right decision, which is still early days.
02:58So we lure her on.
03:00She's not sure.
03:01Yes.
03:05Oh.
03:06Yes.
03:07There it is.
03:08Getting her on the mat.
03:10Yeah, that was good.
03:10Nice.
03:11And then we take her off.
03:13Okay.
03:14See if she makes the decision.
03:16Give her time to think about it.
03:18So you look at the mat, not at her.
03:20Here she goes.
03:21She's wondering what she needs to do.
03:25Yes.
03:25Wow.
03:26And there it is.
03:27Oh my God.
03:28It's really important to give our dogs thinking time.
03:31Yeah.
03:31Yes.
03:32So that they're not constantly relying on us.
03:35Yeah.
03:35I'm going to add a bit of distance and see if that will work.
03:39Lola, Matt.
03:43She's not ready.
03:44That's okay.
03:45Yes.
03:45See, as soon as I close the distance, she's like, yeah, I get it.
03:49Let's try.
03:51Lola, Matt.
03:54Yes.
03:55That was really good.
03:56That was really good.
03:57So you're going to put the tree right in front of her nose and mouth.
04:00Lola her on.
04:02Yeah.
04:02Right.
04:02Once she's on there, you say yes and you reward to the mat.
04:05Okay.
04:06Okay.
04:06Not to her mouth.
04:08I'm just going to move out the way a little bit.
04:09Should I get her off first?
04:10So get her off first.
04:11Yeah.
04:11Okay.
04:13Nicely done with the release cue.
04:15Pop a tree in front of her nose and mouth.
04:18Lola her on.
04:19Say yes.
04:21That's it.
04:21And then keep rewarding to the mat.
04:23Okay.
04:26Nice.
04:26That was a great release cue as well.
04:29Wait, for example, one of them.
04:31Okay.
04:32But otherwise, you shouldn't repeat cues.
04:34Lola, Matt.
04:39Hold that position a moment.
04:41Give her a moment to think it through.
04:43She's almost.
04:45Here she goes.
04:45Yeah.
04:46Yes.
04:47That was so good.
04:48Yes.
04:50Very clever girl.
04:51And I'm going to try her on the next stage, which is adding in a distraction.
04:55So you show the tree.
04:57You hold it out.
05:00And you wait.
05:03Give her a few seconds.
05:04Yes.
05:04There it is.
05:05Did you see that look over?
05:06Yeah.
05:09Yes.
05:10There it is.
05:11Lovely.
05:13So hold the tree out.
05:14Swap hands.
05:17Yes.
05:20Lola did amazing for her first training session.
05:23We're now going to see if Ivy remembers hers.
05:26Ivy, Matt.
05:28Matt.
05:29Yes.
05:30Oh my God.
05:31What?
05:32Okay.
05:34Good girl.
05:35Ivy, Matt.
05:36Wow.
05:38Yes.
05:39Look how like.
05:40You're so clever.
05:40She probably gets on it as well.
05:42Try to do it again.
05:43Yes.
05:44I won't just reward her a couple of times.
05:46Okay.
05:46Release word.
05:47Ivy, Matt.
05:50Wow.
05:51Yes.
05:52Wow.
05:53You're standing really far away from the mat as well.
05:55Okay.
05:57Ivy, Matt.
05:59Wow.
06:01Look how excited she's getting.
06:03These dogs are super, super smart.
06:06We're now going to update you on all the dog dynamics that's going on right now.
06:11Jockey can still be scared, but it's showing some signs of her confidence building.
06:15Moki is starting to get really stuck in with the playing.
06:19Even Kobe is too.
06:20And of course, Moki has her absolutely crazy moments where she's running around like a
06:25headless chicken.
06:26Oh, good girl, Jockey.
06:30Look at Becca go.
06:35Moki's trying to run after Becca.
06:37And Kobe's just attacking Moki.
06:41Oh, we love Moki so much.
06:43She's just nuts.
06:45Kobe then gets jealous because he's being left out of playing.
06:48Kobe, come on.
06:51Kobe, go and play with them then.
06:55Don't be shy.
06:59Becca then tries to get involved with Kobe and Moki playing and just ends up playing with
07:04Moki.
07:05Oh, look at them.
07:08And then we see just how cheeky she is.
07:11Here's Ella chilling on the sofa and there goes Becca stealing her shoe.
07:15And this is where we can see the dogs really getting comfortable because Ivy then decides
07:19the crates are part of her playground.
07:21It's all going really well.
07:23Dogs are playing, but you can see here Jockey's still really scared.
07:27She isn't on top of the sofa for fun.
07:29She was there to try and hide.
07:31We're going to ask Dilnaz to see if we can do some confidence building training with her
07:35later on in the week.
07:37A lot is happening right now and it's going to get even crazier because we're on a mission
07:41to rescue 30 dogs in 30 days.
07:44We're rescuing another four dogs in two weeks time and filmed with another 22 dogs at the
07:50shelter that we're working with.
07:52This whole series is for a fundraiser for Happy Shelter.
07:56This is the shelter where all these dogs came from.
07:59She's out.
08:01Bless her.
08:02The training really tired her out earlier.
08:04And I'll go into how you can donate to Happy Shelter later.
08:08But if you can't afford to donate right now, that's fine because we've thought of something
08:12for you.
08:13So you can donate a penny by simply hitting that subscribe button.
08:17You can donate another penny by following us on Instagram.
08:20If you scan the QR code, it'll take you straight there.
08:24And you can donate yet another penny by adding us on Snapchat.
08:28And again, if you scan the QR code, it'll take you right there.
08:31A penny may not seem like that much, but if we get half a million people following us
08:36across all socials, that's £5,000 that we're going to donate to Happy Shelter.
08:42And that is a lot of money.
08:44Right.
08:45Now let's actually go to Happy Shelter and show you a dog that needs your help.
08:49She's the most adorable mum.
08:51This is Willow.
08:53So Willow was found on the streets with newborn puppies.
08:57So she was actually dropped off at the shelter.
09:00Willow was found wandering the streets in unbearable heat with four tiny puppies.
09:05She tried to shield them from the scorched sun hunger and constant danger.
09:10A young mother with nothing, she did everything she could to keep her babies alive.
09:14Leaving them on the streets would have meant probably certain death.
09:16It's the kind people did give them food and water.
09:18So basically Willow here is a survivor, aren't you?
09:22And a very good mother to the puppies.
09:24And so what Happy Shelter have done here is amazing because it sounds like Willow and the puppies
09:29didn't stand a whole lot of chance out there on the streets.
09:33And again, as you can see, she is from the streets and look up.
09:36She's just like a normal dog.
09:37All she wants is love and affection.
09:38She's really good with the puppies as well.
09:41Puppies.
09:42So all donations help Happy Shelter support dogs just like Willow.
09:46Who obviously needed urgent care, urgent help and what they've done is amazing.
09:51Not only the puppies to be honest, like what they've done with Willow is amazing.
09:54Because look at her.
09:54She looks good.
09:55She looks very happy.
09:56Super loving.
09:57Very trusting.
09:58And you can see just wants love and affection.
10:00Willow.
10:01Come here mama.
10:03Hi mama.
10:05Hi.
10:06Hi.
10:07You're so gorgeous.
10:08Some sort of terrier hound thing.
10:10Yeah.
10:11Previous girl.
10:12I think so.
10:12We'll be really interested to see what you guys think.
10:15What breed she is.
10:17Or what breed she's got in her.
10:19Because I don't think she's one breed.
10:20Yeah.
10:21She's got to be a mix of breeds.
10:23She does have a kind of terrier face.
10:25She's got wire coat.
10:27Yeah.
10:27Or like hound ears.
10:29Yeah.
10:29There's so many dogs here that we can all help out.
10:32But what's amazing about the owner of the shelter, Kamau, is he doesn't just help out his dogs.
10:37He will also feed dogs on the street.
10:39Any dog that needs help, he never says no.
10:42Can we get a thank you Kamau in the comments please?
10:45He's such an amazing person.
10:47Now let's go back to the house so I can update you on how Kobe and Moki are getting on.
10:52So we're a few days into the series now.
10:54And to be honest, things have probably gotten a little bit easier.
10:57We're starting to get a bit of a routine with all the dogs.
10:59But the best decision that we ever made was actually making a room for Kobe and Moki upstairs
11:04to be able to take them away from all the chaos to basically have naps during the day.
11:09I think it's important to remember that this is still their home.
11:12And as much as they love all the dogs, they do also get tired and want to sleep in peace
11:17during the day.
11:17So we put them upstairs, let them have a nap, and then when we bring them down, they do this.
11:25Hello dogs, have you had a good nap?
11:28You ready to go down and see the dogs?
11:30Come on, oh, good stretch.
11:32Come on then.
11:34Good dogs.
11:35Come on then dogs, come on, come on, you've got my key.
11:38Oh, good dogs.
11:41Good girl, Jockey.
11:43Oh, good.
11:45They've had their nap.
11:48The rescues are so happy to see them as well.
11:52Good boy.
11:54So you can see they're really just happy and excited to be around the dogs,
11:58which is perfect for us because, of course,
12:00we want Kobe and Moki to enjoy this whole experience as well.
12:03The one thing that we've definitely noticed is having this many dogs,
12:07the house is becoming a mess.
12:09Now, honestly, I hate showing you guys this because we look really dirty,
12:13but, you know, this is just the reality of owning this many dogs.
12:17So what me and Ella are going to do is clean the house,
12:20and this seems like the perfect time to introduce all the rescues
12:24to things like hoovers and mops for the very first time.
12:28Okay, we've got a hoover out.
12:29It's sort of like the number one thing I feel like dogs are scared of.
12:32And so we've kind of put it out to just get the dogs used to it,
12:35let them have a sniff.
12:36We've also got basically all doors open
12:38so that they can go and sort of like take themselves away
12:41if they get scared of it.
12:42And then we'll turn the hoover on and see what happens.
12:45My guess is they're going to be pretty scared.
12:48Oh, I didn't realize it would turn on straight away.
12:51Whoops.
12:52I didn't realize the power button was on.
12:53Sorry, dogs.
12:55Sorry.
12:56I feel so bad.
12:58All right, so I think we'll just leave the hoover like that,
13:00let them get used to the noise a bit.
13:01Oh, Becca's brave.
13:03Is that the big scary hoover?
13:06Good girl.
13:07Well done.
13:09Oh, she's having a right explore, look.
13:13Well done.
13:14Good girl, Lola.
13:20God, this is like the world's noisiest hoover.
13:23The dogs do not look impressed with me hoovering.
13:28They're not happy about this.
13:30So the dogs are getting used to the hoover, kind of,
13:33but enjoy our little cleaning montage
13:35because the house is a mess.
13:47And most importantly,
13:48we're going to be cleaning out the dogs' crates too.
13:51They haven't had one accident in here, which is amazing,
13:54but there's just hair and dirt everywhere.
13:56So time to clean those.
14:02Okay, I'm going to do a slow-mo
14:04of how much dirt comes off this blanket.
14:06You guys ready for this?
14:08All right, go.
14:17Okay, I've got absolutely no clue
14:19if any of that came out on camera,
14:21but was that good?
14:22Let me know in the comments,
14:23or was that just terrible?
14:24So we are done cleaning.
14:26We've spent about the last two hours cleaning,
14:28but we didn't include too much footage of it
14:30because probably not all that fun to watch, to be honest.
14:33So next, we are going to put air tags on all of the dogs,
14:37and there's a good reason why.
14:38Okay, so we have got four different air tags.
14:41All of them say I'm a foster on them,
14:43and we have got them connected up to our phone as well.
14:47So you can see Jockey, Lola, Becca, and Ivy.
14:50So now all we need to do is have the fun
14:53of putting them on them.
14:54Lola first.
14:56Lola's first.
14:57Woo!
14:58Wow!
15:00Air tag Lola.
15:01Next is Ivy.
15:03All right, air tag Ivy.
15:05Good girl.
15:06Next, we have Becca, who's very tired.
15:10Done.
15:11The next one is not going to be as easy as these three
15:14because we've got Jockey.
15:15Okay, so we have got some treats for Jockey,
15:18and the plan is to give us some treats,
15:20get the collar off her,
15:21and then we can put the air tag on.
15:24It's all right, yeah.
15:26Good girl.
15:27Yeah, yeah.
15:29So Ella's just giving her treats
15:31and not even trying to get the collar off her.
15:33Okay, so we're not going to put an air tag on Jockey
15:36because she's clearly quite scared.
15:38Jockey will have to wait
15:39until we find a good moment to do it.
15:41So, the reason we wanted to put air tags on all the dogs
15:44is because we're going to be taking them
15:46on their first ever walk tomorrow.
15:49So today, that means we just want to get them used to the lead.
15:52Good girl.
15:55And so, this is exactly why
15:57we wanted to get them used to the lead
15:59because you can see she's quite scared.
16:02And actually, if we just leave it on her,
16:03Ivy, Ivy.
16:07She's just going to get used to it.
16:08Moki, who said that we should have Moki in here?
16:11So we've put all the dogs out
16:12because that was just chaos
16:14and it was not working.
16:15Now we can actually focus just on one dog.
16:17Ivy.
16:20Good girl.
16:21So it looks like she's getting used to the lead a bit more,
16:23which is good.
16:24I'm just going to pick it up
16:26and just go with her.
16:28Good girl.
16:30There you go.
16:31Okay.
16:32Ivy.
16:34So I'm just giving her some treats.
16:35Yes.
16:37For some positive association with the lead.
16:40It's okay.
16:41If you're scared, that's okay.
16:43My guess is though,
16:45when she goes outside,
16:46she may be a bit more open to walking.
16:49Good girl.
16:50Yes.
16:51Because she'll have all the sniffs
16:53and all the stimulation.
16:54What we wanted to do today really
16:55was just put her on the lead
16:57so she's not as scared of it tomorrow.
16:59What's good is she's clearly quite treat motivated.
17:02Good girl.
17:03And so now let's put leads on the other two dogs.
17:07For obvious reasons,
17:08we're not going to put a lead on Jockey just yet.
17:11We're actually going to work with Dilnaz
17:13to get her out on her first walk.
17:15Because of how she is,
17:16she clearly needs a lot more confidence first.
17:18And this is exactly why
17:19we've got a professional dog behavior in
17:21to help us with situations like that.
17:24With Ivy, Lola, and Becca,
17:25I think we can handle it.
17:26Do you reckon?
17:27Yeah.
17:28So we've just put a harness on her
17:30and then put a lead on her.
17:31Honestly, this just shows
17:32how much we're still learning.
17:34We just remembered that Dilnaz said
17:35it's actually best to walk them on a harness first.
17:38So that's what we have put on her.
17:40And she's got a lead.
17:41Oh, look at her tail.
17:42She's got a bit submissive, bless her.
17:44She might think
17:45that she's being taken away again
17:47because the last time this got put on her,
17:49obviously she ended up here.
17:50So we just want to give us
17:51some positive association.
17:53Moki, don't need a choir.
17:55Now let's do the same thing
17:56with Lola and Becca.
17:58Harness on Lola
17:58and she's got all submissive.
18:00Yeah, good girl.
18:01This is honestly like
18:02the hardest bit of having a rescue.
18:04Getting like their harnesses
18:05and stuff like that on
18:06for the first time.
18:08Okay, she looks absolutely adorable.
18:10We have got a lead
18:11to put on to Lola.
18:14Nice.
18:17Oh, wow, look.
18:17She looks like she's ready to go.
18:20Come on then, queen.
18:21Come on.
18:23Wow, look at her go.
18:25Good girl.
18:26Come on, then.
18:27Wow.
18:28Oh, my God.
18:29She looks amazing.
18:30Well, that should be nice and easy tomorrow.
18:32Yeah, she's like,
18:33I'm ready.
18:34I'm ready to go out.
18:35Harness on Becca.
18:37Oh, she looks adorable in the army.
18:39The army and the pink combo.
18:41You're an army gal.
18:42See ya.
18:43Wow.
18:45Come on then.
18:50Bless her.
18:51Becca.
18:52So we're going to leave
18:53these leads on the dogs
18:54for a couple of hours
18:55just so they can get used to it.
18:58Tomorrow, we're going to walk them
18:59for the very first time.
19:01And now I need to tell you
19:02about the entire reason
19:03we're doing all of this.
19:05We're trying to fundraise
19:07£30,000
19:08for Happy Shelter.
19:10Happy Shelter
19:11is the shelter
19:11where all of these dogs came from.
19:14You all right, Becca?
19:16She's getting used to a lead.
19:18Happy Shelter
19:19is the shelter
19:19that all of these dogs came from.
19:22And to be honest,
19:23most of the dogs
19:23that we've rescued
19:24have come from there as well.
19:25We're trying to raise
19:26£30,000
19:27because it's going to help
19:28Happy Shelter
19:29continue to rescue
19:30mistreated dogs,
19:32continue to rescue
19:32dogs off the street,
19:33also improve
19:34the facilities of the shelter
19:35and much, much more.
19:37You can donate
19:38to the GoFundMe
19:39which is in the description below
19:40and also in a pinned comment below.
19:42We've also got
19:43donation targets to hit
19:45and every time
19:46we hit those donation targets
19:47we've got something fun
19:49planned for the dogs too.
19:50You can see everything
19:51that we have planned
19:52for the dogs
19:53down in the description.
19:54So guys,
19:55let's help save
19:5630 dogs
19:57in 30 days
19:58all together.
19:59And unfortunately,
20:00we've noticed
20:01that Ella's ear,
20:03Ella?
20:04Becca's ear.
20:06Stinks like
20:07really, really bad.
20:08So we think
20:08we may have an ear affection.
20:10So we're going to
20:11call up the vets
20:12and take her
20:13into the vet tomorrow.
20:14You can also see
20:15that she walks
20:15kind of funny
20:16and like her paw,
20:17if you have a look at it,
20:18her back paw,
20:20you can see
20:21it looks like
20:21I don't know
20:22if there's been
20:22some kind of operation
20:23or something like that.
20:25But basically,
20:26we're going to take her
20:26to the vets tomorrow,
20:27get her checked out,
20:28make sure everything
20:29is okay.
20:30So be sure
20:31to watch tomorrow's video
20:32so you can get
20:33an update on Becca,
20:35make sure everything
20:35is going well
20:36and I'll see you guys
20:38tomorrow.
