00:00We're the golden kobe family
00:04In this series we're attempting to rescue 30 dogs in 30 days with your help and this is how our
00:10morning went so far
00:12Dog poo. We're picking up dog poo again. This is like the weirdest way to start a video every morning
00:17But whilst we do that, let me go over everything that happened last night
00:20So all the crate training is working because the dogs have started taking themselves off to the crates now to
00:25sleep
00:26Which is great news. Lola begged for my dinner still think we need to do more mat training with her
00:31Jockey showed she was still scared, but also showed just that little bit of confidence building
00:37I got to spend some quality time with the dogs got licked in the mouth as well. Lovely. Thank you
00:42so much
00:42Ivy, and this is how all the dogs are in the morning when they see each other now
00:56Come on then jockey
00:57Good girl
01:00And then go dogs go
01:02Oh my god
01:04Right, come on dogs out
01:06Hello
01:06Hello Ivy
01:10Hello Jockey
01:12Hello Jockey
01:13Hello
01:14Now it's time to feed them breakfast
01:18This has to be like my favorite transition ever
01:21Let's go feed all six dogs
01:23Kobe and Moki outside
01:26Yes
01:26Jockey in the conservatory
01:28Ivy in the crate
01:29Lola in the crate
01:31And Becca
01:33I think we're starting to get the hang of this
01:35So Becca here is going to get her first training session today
01:38With Dylan as our professional dog behaviorist
01:41And I'll let her explain what we're going to be doing
01:44So we'll start off with eye contact so she learns a marker word
01:47Because remember marker word helps her to know when she's done something right
01:52Otherwise we don't have like a common language
01:55So we want to do eye contact first
01:56Teach her that
01:57And then we're going to use touch as a way of moving her
02:00Yeah
02:01Because often we overuse our dog's names
02:03Yeah
02:03And they kind of treat it as background noise
02:05Yeah
02:06Yeah
02:06So we'll teach her some touch
02:08And then we'll take it from there
02:10Wait for eye contact
02:26Yes
02:27Yes
02:28Oh
02:28So she's tracking my hair
02:30Oh bless her
02:33Yes
02:36Yes
02:37Oh she's so clever
02:42Yes
02:45She is the cutest
02:46Yes
02:48It's her tail going ding
02:50When she looks at my pouch on my hand she gets nothing like there
02:53Yes
02:54And then when she makes eye contact the treat comes down
02:57Yes
03:02Yes
03:03It's quick little flickers there
03:05So I'm just going to try her with eye contact too
03:08Because she did so well
03:10Just to give her a bit of a challenge
03:11Right
03:13So start with that one
03:15Yes
03:16Just as a little recap
03:18And now I'm going to try eye contact too
03:20So Dilnaz says eye contact too
03:23And this is where she's going to put her arm out
03:25So it's away from her face
03:27And Dilnaz is going to wait for Becca to give her some eye contact
03:30So let her smell it
03:32Hold it out
03:34Yes
03:35Oh this side's harder
03:38Yes
03:40So dogs like us have a dominant side
03:43So she clearly finds looking that way a bit easier
03:45Yeah
03:45Than that side
03:46So I'm just doing a bit more on her less dominant side to help her
03:54Yes
03:56And then go back to an easier side
03:58Because I don't want to constantly make things a challenge for her
04:01Oh I missed it there
04:02Yes
04:03I missed it the first time
04:05Because she just did
04:05Yeah it was a flicker
04:07It was
04:08So touch like I said earlier
04:10Is a really great way of moving our dogs from A to B
04:13It comes in handy as well
04:15If you've like given them a wash or something
04:17And they've kind of disappeared away from you
04:19From the tap or the hose or whatever
04:21Yeah
04:21Instead of having to try and chase them
04:23Or grab a slippery dog
04:24Yeah
04:24You just ask for a touch
04:25They come in
04:26They do the touch
04:38And then you kind of do
04:41And make contact with their nose
04:43Now some dogs don't like an open hand
04:45Either they've got a sensitive reflex action like humans do
04:48Some humans are a bit more sensitive than others
04:50Or they might have had a bad history
04:52Yeah
04:53Right
04:53So Jockey for example might not like an open hand near her face
04:57So then what you can do is do like a fist
04:59But you keep your fingers open like that
05:01Yeah
05:02Because then the dogs are nosy by nature
05:05Yeah
05:05Excuse the pun
05:05And then they'll go oh stop
05:07And then they stick their nose in
05:08Yeah
05:09So then you mark a reward
05:10Yeah
05:10So I'll try the open hand first
05:12If she doesn't like it we'll do the close
05:14Okay
05:14Right
05:14And your hand movement needs to be slow
05:17We don't want to like karate chop them and scare them
05:19Yeah
05:22Yes
05:24She's like but it was here
05:26Yes
05:26She's like I'm just checking
05:28So that's stage one right
05:30Stage two you move your hands slightly further away
05:34So that she has to like stretch
05:37Yeah
05:37To make contact
05:38Okay
05:39And if she doesn't work it out
05:41That's okay
05:41We go back to the first stage
05:43So I look at my hand not at her
05:45Give her a few seconds to work it out
05:47Having a little stretch
05:48Oh here she goes
05:49Yes
05:50Wow
05:50Okay
05:51Oh my god
05:52So we must give our dogs like I've said before
05:54Time to think things through
05:56Yeah
05:59Yes
06:00Oh my god
06:01Okay and then we go to the other side
06:05Yes
06:06She's so clever
06:06In getting her to step for stage three
06:10Because stage three is where you throw the treat out
06:12And then they walk to your hand
06:14We'll just see how she feels right
06:15Yeah
06:16Because she's resting a little bit more today than she was yesterday
06:21Oh almost
06:22Yes
06:23Oh
06:23Nice
06:24That is adorable
06:28So she's looking at me
06:30Because we've been doing eye contact
06:31A hold steady
06:32Yes
06:33Wow
06:33Okay
06:34So it's just teaching her to come closer and closer
06:37Yeah
06:38We're going to do one more of those
06:42She's looking at me
06:44Yes
06:45Now this time I throw the treat over there
06:49Try and encourage her to get up
06:52And then I hold my hand out
06:55Here she goes
06:56Oh she's thinking about it
06:57Yeah she's thinking about it
06:58So she's looking at eye contact again
07:00And I'm not giving her eye contact because I'm looking at my hand
07:03But I'm keeping her in my peripheral vision
07:05If she struggles
07:10Then I would just
07:11Yes
07:12Wow
07:12Go back a step
07:14So throw the treat there
07:16Because she's consistent
07:17I can now add in her name and the cue touch
07:21But you don't need the cue
07:23Because your hand always has to be there
07:25Becca
07:25Touch
07:30She's thinking
07:31But because I've added a word
07:32She's like what we're doing
07:33A few more seconds
07:39And I take my hand away
07:40Maybe it was too soon for adding in the word
07:43That's okay
07:43We go back a step
07:45We stop using the word
07:46Yeah
07:46If we keep using the word
07:48What will happen
07:50And we poison the cue
07:51Yeah
07:52Right
07:52Yeah
07:52Because touch doesn't mean just lie there and look at me
07:54Yeah
07:55It means come over touch my hand
07:56Yeah
07:57Right
07:57So
07:59Give her a few more seconds
08:02And then take my hand away
08:03So we drop back a bit
08:05Or she might be tired
08:07Yeah
08:07Right
08:07So if I drop back another step
08:10And she doesn't do it
08:11That will tell us that she's tired
08:13Yeah
08:13So we give her a break
08:15Yeah
08:15Let her sniff something
08:17Or chew something
08:18And then we go back
08:21Yes
08:24A little bit further
08:26Yes
08:26She's like this is more like it
08:30Yes
08:32So we were training Becca
08:34But we noticed that she didn't really want to stand up
08:36She just wanted to sit down
08:38Or lay down
08:39And as cute as it was
08:40We weren't sure if it was because she was in pain
08:42She got really tired towards the end of it
08:45And we didn't want to push her
08:46And after we all observed her
08:48We decided it's not in her best interest to carry on
08:51She's clearly quite uncomfortable
08:53We are going to take her to the vet
08:55But first let's give you a quick progress update
08:57On how all the dogs are doing
08:59So Jockey is really starting to come out her shell
09:02And her confidence is building every single day
09:05This is her playing with Becca
09:07Which is really nice to see
09:08Lola's getting on very well
09:11She's having a nice good rest
09:12It's quite hot here today
09:13Weather's quite nice
09:15A rare day in the UK to have nice sun
09:17And so this one's having a good rest
09:19Look at her
09:20She's falling asleep
09:21Bless her
09:21What's nice is
09:23We've had the dogs for what four days now
09:25I think it is
09:26And so they're really starting to trust us a lot more now
09:28And Ivy here is doing really really well
09:32She's also starting to trust us more and more
09:35I feel like she's probably going to go to her home fairly quickly
09:39Good girl
09:40And then we have Becca
09:42Becca's story is a little bit sad to be honest
09:45After seeing what she was like during the training
09:48She's clearly in quite a lot of pain
09:50We've also noticed that she sleeps a crazy amount during the day
09:53At first we thought she was recovering from the two day trip from Macedonia
09:57But now that she's actually had time to recover
10:00We noticed that pretty much most of the day she's like this
10:03And it's not normal
10:04So we're going to take her to the vet
10:07Oh
10:08And you can also see she's really
10:10Anything around her paw area or leg
10:13She's really protective
10:14I think she's in quite a bit of pain
10:16So we're going to take her to the vet
10:17Hopefully what's wrong with her isn't anything major
10:20So we're not entirely sure what is actually wrong with Becca's leg
10:24Or Becca's paw
10:26It looks pretty inflamed and it just doesn't look great compared to the other one
10:30So we are going to take Becca to the vet now
10:33And see what's wrong with her
10:34So I'm going to pick Becca up
10:36Because we now feel a little bit worried about how bad her legs are
10:41And put her in the back of the car
10:44Oh good girl
10:46Look at her, such a small dog
10:48She's heavy
10:48Oh
10:49Let's put her in
10:52Good girl
10:54Mind her bum
10:56Oh that's it
10:58There you go
10:59Just put her in there
11:00That would be some treats
11:01That was very smart
11:03Hope the hotel doesn't get caught
11:06Success
11:08So this is the first time obviously we ever put a rescue in the car
11:12And she's really good
11:13I'm not surprised
11:14Because she seems to be good at pretty much everything
11:18She's doing really really well
11:19She's just taking it all in
11:20Good girl Bex
11:22Okay we have arrived at the vet
11:24We're going to bring Becca out
11:26This is actually obviously technically the first
11:28Well not technically
11:28It is the first walk she's ever been on
11:30Only a short walk to the vet
11:32Because we're quite worried about her legs
11:34It'll also be good to see what she can
11:36If she can walk
11:37Come on
11:38Good girl
11:41Oh good shape
11:43Good girl
11:43Come on then
11:44So you can see even the way that she's walking now
11:46Her back legs
11:47I think it's her back right isn't it
11:50That kind of goes inwards
11:51And then obviously her back left is really bad
11:54Come on Becca
11:57Come on
11:58Good girl
11:59Hello
12:00Hey
12:01Hi
12:01How are you doing here?
12:03How are you doing here?
12:03This is Becca
12:05Oh
12:07Yeah
12:12Good girl
12:14Got a little tail
12:15She a newbie
12:16Yeah
12:17Yeah
12:17We've got
12:18We've got four of them at home
12:19We rescued four
12:22Becca was doing really good in the vet
12:25Bearing in mind she's never been in a situation like this
12:27She's doing really really well
12:29You can see how bad her foot is
12:31Something's definitely not right with her
12:34So the vet did all the checks on her
12:36She's got a healthy heartbeat which is great
12:38Her temperature was normal which is also great
12:41But she's got a lymph node on her leg which is swollen
12:44So they ended up prescribing us some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory to see if that's going to help bring the
12:50swelling down on her paw
12:51We're gonna bring her back next week and she may also need to get an x-ray and a swab
12:56The vet then took her to get her ears checked out and cut her claws
13:01Good girl
13:03Bye thank you so much
13:04Thank you bye bye
13:04All right so we are going to try and do the eardrops for the first time
13:10She's chilling out which is the position that we want her to be in
13:13Oh that's nice isn't it Becca
13:18Oh good girl
13:19All right now rub that one once you squirt the other one
13:28Oh sorry girl sorry darling
13:31That probably feels really nice
13:32Oh Moki would like some too
13:34It's probably really soothing for her
13:37Oh I know okay you just squeezed it all out
13:39Oh good girl
13:42Oh
13:43Oh
13:45Oh
13:48Ew
13:50So Becca's treatment did end up coming to 170 pounds and my guess is that's not going to be the
13:56last of
13:56Her treatment sadly
13:57Hopefully the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory does work and it's something just as simple as that
14:03I feel like now is probably a good time to be able to ask you guys if you are able
14:07to donate
14:07I'm going to give you more information on how to do that later on in the video
14:11But any help is really really appreciated
14:14So if you're wondering how we're actually going to be uploading videos basically every single day without burning out
14:19We've got an entire team around us helping us
14:22We've got Sven our editor
14:24I'm sending him footage every single day
14:27He then has less than 24 hours to get a video edited for you guys
14:32We've then got my business partner and good friend Leroy
14:35And he goes through the entire video to make sure everything is perfect for you
14:39It's going to be a really intense month
14:41So if you could say thank you Sven and Leroy in the comments
14:45I think they'd really appreciate it
14:47And whilst we work away with the dogs and for you guys
14:50We've got a way for you to help us out without spending a penny
14:53So the entire reason we're doing this series is for the rescue that we work with called Happy Shelter
14:59This is where all of these dogs came from
15:01And it's where almost all the rescues that we got also came from
15:04We're trying to raise £30,000 for them
15:07And if you don't have any money to donate that's completely fine
15:10Because we've got a way for you to donate without actually spending a penny
15:14If you click that subscribe button on YouTube we'll personally donate a penny for every single subscribe
15:19You can also go onto our Instagram TheGoldenCobyFamily
15:23And hit that follow button and we'll donate another penny every time that happens
15:27And we'll donate a third penny anytime anyone adds us on Snapchat
15:31You can scan the QR codes to take you right there
15:34Okay, so now we've gone through that
15:36Let's see how Ella's getting on
15:38So what are you doing?
15:39Doing my daily exercise of picking up dog poo
15:42Again, we obviously picked up poo in the morning
15:45But they decided that they'll want to poo again
15:48During the day
15:50So how do you think it is going so far?
15:52Are you finding it easy, hard?
15:54I actually feel like this is going quite well
15:56Seeing as we have six dogs, we're not coping badly, are we?
15:59Yeah, I think we got fairly lucky with the dogs that we have
16:02Because they all get on really well
16:03And they're actually super easy to look after
16:05Which makes our life easier
16:07We've come back from the vets with Becca
16:10Obviously kind of a sad situation
16:12So what do you think about her?
16:14I'm feeling hopeful that her medication will hopefully help out her poor
16:19Because it does look very swollen
16:21And because she is a puppy and she's only a little bit over a year, right?
16:26Yeah, she's still young
16:27So obviously we want her to be able to play
16:30We want her to not be in pain
16:32And she's sleeping quite a lot
16:33So it's quite worrying
16:34Fingers crossed we don't have to go back for more tests
16:37And surgery or anything like that
16:40Hopefully she gets better with what we've got
16:42Yeah, hopefully the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory help a lot
16:46One thing I will say is that these dogs are so well behaved
16:50And they've got great dog manners
16:53And Happy Shelter have done a really great job of looking after them
16:57And teaching them that
16:59And we're really grateful for that
17:00So now we're going to go to the shelter
17:03And show you some adorable puppies
17:05So this is called the W family
17:07Because obviously we had the mum
17:09And then all of the puppies begin with W
17:11We've got Winston, Wally, Woody and Waffle
17:15So four puppies
17:16And so obviously these are the puppies to Willow
17:21These puppies to be honest are pretty lucky to be here
17:25Because street puppies it's really hard for them to survive
17:29They're so cute
17:30Look at them
17:32We all love puppies
17:34You can see like they haven't had a whole load of human interaction
17:37But I'm sure Kamau and the Happy Shelter team are going to do an amazing job with them
17:41And they'll be just fine
17:42I mean they were tiny
17:43Eyes weren't even open when the mum first came
17:46And so they've done an amazing job with them
17:49They're probably around a few months old now
17:51And oh look at him or her
17:55You are adorable
17:56Hello
17:58Because if it wasn't for Happy Shelter
18:00These guys wouldn't have made it
18:01Oh they're adorable
18:02Look at them
18:03And they're like
18:03Mum
18:04Mum
18:05Good cow
18:06So every donation helps dogs
18:08Just like these
18:09Not just dogs
18:10Puppies too
18:11And most importantly the mum
18:13You're the most important aren't you
18:14Yes well done you
18:16You did a great job
18:17Yeah
18:18Hello
18:20That nice
18:22The wagon is dead
18:23Oh Willow is that nice
18:27Willow's face
18:29You like your ears being rubbed
18:31Did you know your ears being rubbed?
18:33Alright so we just noticed there's only three pups in there
18:35There is a fourth
18:36Let's see if I can get it
18:39There
18:40He's just gone down the side
18:42So they did all make it
18:46Oh yeah you tell them what's happened
18:48The little boy's just like
18:50Flunked himself down the side
18:52So there's the fourth
18:53So the time has come to take out the dogs for their first ever walk
18:58We are only going to take out Lola and Ivy
19:01Because Becca you can see she's just recovering
19:04And obviously with her leg and her paw
19:06There's no chance we want to take her out
19:08And then Jockey we don't want to take her out yet
19:11Because we just haven't got the trust with her
19:13And it wouldn't be fair on her
19:14So mother and daughter are going to go on their first ever walk
19:18Oh there goes Lola
19:21So we've got treats ready for the dogs
19:23Just in case they don't want to walk
19:25But they look pretty happy to walk to me
19:27Let's do it let's go
19:28Their first ever walk oh my god
19:31Well Lola and Ivy not surprisingly
19:35Are just super excited to be out and ready to go
19:38Which is great
19:39We are eventually going to expose them to like road noise and people
19:44I mean you can hear building works going on in the background already which is good
19:49But today it's just all about getting their first walk in
19:53Letting them enjoy it
19:54And show them that walking is all good
19:57Yes got the dogs
20:01Come on Ivy come on Lola
20:03Oh oh
20:05I got a bit excited there
20:06Good girl Moki
20:08So bringing Kobe and Moki along
20:14Is really really good for the dogs to be able to see
20:16That everything is okay
20:19A walk is something positive
20:20And they can see Kobe and Moki just enjoying themselves
20:23Which should hopefully mean Ivy and Lola are also going to enjoy themselves
20:27And to be honest it already looks like they are
20:30So not surprisingly
20:33Ivy and Lola are probably going to be the easiest to walk
20:35We already saw earlier when we took Becca to the vet
20:38She's also going to be easier to walk
20:40I think the hardest is going to be Jockey
20:42But this is exactly why we've got the professional dog behaviorist in
20:46To help us with a dog like that
20:48So these dogs look like they're going to be completely fine
20:51So enjoy this short little montage of the dogs loving their walk
20:59It's literally taken us about 20 minutes to walk 10 meters
21:04These dogs are sniffing everything
21:12Come on Kobe boy
21:17So we've gotten to the part of the day where I'm going to be checking donations
21:20And seeing how we are getting on
21:23So we are at £1,200 in donations
21:27Raised 60 donations in less than like 24 hours of our first video going up
21:32So guys thank you so much for every single person that has donated so far
21:37We have got Daniel Roach
21:40Or Roach, hopefully I haven't butchered that
21:42Who is our current top donor at £150
21:45We've got Joe Stead at £110
21:49We've got Good Run, I hope I didn't butcher that again
21:53At £87
21:54And we have got Noel at £53
21:57Those are our current top donors
21:59Thank you so much to them
22:00And thank you so much to everybody that has donated so far
22:03We're trying to raise £30,000 in the next 30 days
22:08For 30 dogs
22:09You can donate by clicking on the GoFundMe down below in the description
22:14It's also going to be in the pinned comment as well
22:17So let's continue fundraising for Happy Shelter
22:20And helping out as many dogs as possible
22:22And in tomorrow's video
22:24Dilnaz, our professional dog behaviourist
22:26Is going to be working on Jockey
