00:00He's meant to be one of those scary looking dogs, but King is about to prove everyone wrong.
00:05We've just rescued him, and in this video, he's going to meet all five of our dogs.
00:10His breed is labelled as bad with other dogs, so how is he actually going to react?
00:15But before any of that happens, we need to take you back to the very start of King's journey,
00:20the moment we first rescued him.
00:23So King is a nine-week-old American bulldog, a territorial and protective breed.
00:29But no one told him this.
00:31So King is scared, bless him.
00:33How old is he, nine weeks?
00:35He's ten weeks.
00:36Ten weeks, he's still so young.
00:37He looks so scared and unsure of the poor thing.
00:40I hope Ella's tucking him in.
00:42Can you see him shaking?
00:44Oh, poor thing.
00:46Oh, his face.
00:48We've rescued King.
00:49I'll explain his story later, but first, we've got a quick drive home,
00:53and then he gets to explore the garden.
00:55First things first, is we're going to put him down,
00:58because he may need the toilet, because that was a long journey for him.
01:01Oh my god, he is tiny.
01:03You can see we're losing light.
01:04Sorry about the tart, by the way.
01:05He's thirsty.
01:05All of the dogs have absolutely destroyed our grass.
01:07He must need the toilet.
01:09Let's go round to the grass a bit.
01:10Come on, King.
01:11We're going to let King settle in a bit before he meets all five of our dogs.
01:15This is good, because he'll be able to get some sniffs of the other dogs as well.
01:19And he's got quite a few dogs to meet.
01:20Oh, yes.
01:21Hello, cute.
01:24Oh.
01:26You can tell he's young, because he sometimes still, like, loses his feet.
01:28He's a bit clumsy, isn't he?
01:30Oh, he's in the water.
01:31Yeah.
01:31Sorry about the tarp king.
01:32He seems to be getting on really well.
01:34I mean, he's super young, so he's just kind of a bit confused.
01:37I think the first dog we're going to introduce for him is Elsa, the puppy,
01:41because I think she's going to be the best at making him feel a bit at home,
01:45because it's going to be puppy meeting a puppy.
01:48And here's Elsa.
01:49Look, who's that?
01:50King was bred for strength, protection, and guarding,
01:53meaning he can be dominant with other dogs.
01:55So how is this going to go?
01:57Look at his little tail wag.
01:59Okay, this is the cutest thing I think I've ever seen.
02:02So whilst these two are figuring out who's the boss here,
02:05let me show you how you can save some money this Christmas.
02:08Today's sponsor is Cooper,
02:10a free browser extension that literally finds hidden discounts for you.
02:14Link to Instill Cooper is in the description,
02:16and pinned comment.
02:18Good boy.
02:19Yes, good boy.
02:20Oh, he's kind of a bit scared.
02:22It's all right, she's being very polite.
02:23Yeah, she's being really good.
02:25Yes.
02:25So what's amazing is we literally rescued Elsa two days ago.
02:29Yeah.
02:29So she's still new in the pack.
02:30I mean, you can see she's already really starting to come out her shell.
02:33She's very cute.
02:33Which is great.
02:34Oh, he's hiding behind Ella.
02:36You can see King is feeling pretty unsure right now.
02:39I'm going to explain later on why we think breed characteristics play a part,
02:43but also why they're definitely not everything.
02:45That is the most adorable thing.
02:47She's being very polite.
02:48Yeah.
02:49She's trying to play.
02:49Yeah, Elsa really wants to play.
02:51I'm surprised.
02:51So right now, I'm Christmas shopping for Ella,
02:54trying to get her some trainers.
02:56When I hit checkout,
02:57Cooper automatically pops up and tests coupons.
03:00I don't have to Google codes like trainers underscore 10 off like a psychopath.
03:04It just shows to save nine pounds and done.
03:08He's like, please help me.
03:09I don't know.
03:10Please.
03:11He's trying to climb up.
03:12He's like, please.
03:12Give him some pets.
03:13Give him a bit of comfort.
03:14So the pups are getting to know each other,
03:16but one gets a little bit too excited.
03:19Good girl.
03:19She cheered on him.
03:20Yeah.
03:21I think she's trying to let him know like she's not a threat.
03:23Yeah.
03:24No, Elsa no.
03:25Give him a break.
03:26Yes.
03:26Give him a break.
03:27She's being a bit overbearing.
03:28King the scary dog was terrified and Elsa would literally not leave him alone.
03:33Elsa, give him some breathing space.
03:34Elsa, you need to stop being a bit overbearing there, mate.
03:37Elsa.
03:38Elsa.
03:38What?
03:39Elsa, enough.
03:40Elsa.
03:41Elsa.
03:41Elsa.
03:42No.
03:43Elsa.
03:48After the fluffy potato bullied the scary dog into submission,
03:51we decided to separate them and introduce King to our two other rescues,
03:56Louie and Jockey.
03:58Here they come.
03:59Here comes the two.
04:01He's only a good sniff of the air.
04:05Oh, he's gone right under.
04:08By the way, I'm trying to save you even more money this Christmas,
04:11and this is where it gets insane.
04:13I'm hunting for a proper hoover because living with five dogs is like living inside a snow globe of fur.
04:19And as I'm browsing, Cooper hits me with this little price pop-up in the corner.
04:23One click and it pulls every price from every site.
04:27Amazon, £600.
04:29eBay, £450.
04:31Price buy, £479.
04:33And it doesn't just show the price, you can literally see the price history.
04:37Where it dropped, where it spikes, where it stayed flat,
04:40so you don't pay inflated prices just because it's Christmas.
04:44He went right under Jockey.
04:45I was just going here to make sure he feels okay because he's two big dogs.
05:02King actually needed rehoming for a really good reason.
05:05His owner bought him and his brother together,
05:08but only later learned about litter mate syndrome,
05:11where two pups bond too much to each other,
05:13not to people or other dogs,
05:14and can end up fighting for dominance as they grow.
05:17So King needed his own home, and that's how he ended up here.
05:21Ooh, hi.
05:22Hi.
05:23I think he gets a lot more confidence, like, when we can be here.
05:26Yeah.
05:26You think?
05:27Look at him.
05:28He's like, hello.
05:29Pet me.
05:30King is being super brave, only being 10 weeks old,
05:33but let's see if that bravery lasts,
05:35because he's now going to meet our larger-than-life Doberman, Moki.
05:39Got my count.
05:42What's funny is Moki doesn't like the tarp, so...
05:47It's funny that he's not so scared of the bigger dogs.
05:50So Cooper still isn't done.
05:52They've got cash back too.
05:53You buy something on eBay, just eat, curries, wherever,
05:57and you can activate Cooper cash pack,
05:59and you literally get money back afterwards.
06:02I have AirPods here,
06:03and Cooper gives you 0.4 to 1.1% cash back on your purchase.
06:08I don't know who invented paying full price at Christmas,
06:10but it wasn't me.
06:12Good boy.
06:13What are you?
06:15Wow, that's good.
06:17What's funny is Moki doesn't get that excited,
06:19because she hates this weather.
06:21So you can see, she's kind of like, pretty reserved.
06:23Good girl.
06:24How funny.
06:25He's...
06:26He looks like he shows more interest than the dogs.
06:28Maybe he thinks Moki's his mommy.
06:31Make sure you're saving money this Christmas.
06:33Install Cooper using the link in the description.
06:35It's free.
06:36Remember, with their max savings guarantee,
06:39you'll either save on your gifts or get cash back just for trying.
06:42It's literally a no-brainer.
06:44Let me know in the comments what you want to buy this Christmas,
06:46and let's see if Cooper finds you a better deal.
06:49That went really well.
06:50I think Moki just wants to go inside,
06:52which has kind of helped,
06:53because it's meant that she's very chilled out.
06:54So you have got one more dog to meet,
06:57and that is our jealous but very friendly Golden Retriever, Kobe.
07:01And I think you're going to like him.
07:03I'm not sure how much he's going to like you.
07:07Here comes Kobe.
07:09Oh, he hasn't even realised it.
07:13He's unbothered.
07:15Good boy.
07:16I think he's cold, so I think we're going to get him inside
07:21and let them finish their meat.
07:24Kirby's met him, but we're going to bring him inside
07:25because it's a little bit cold.
07:26Come on then, mate.
07:27King is coming inside for the first time.
07:30He'll get to explore, but we still need to get Elsa to stop bullying him.
07:33So this is his first time actually in the house.
07:36He's gone a bit low, bless him.
07:37He's a bit scared.
07:40Good boy.
07:41King was a bit cold from being outside.
07:43He is basically a naked mole rat.
07:45We're going to warm him up and then bring Elsa back inside
07:48and see if we can get them to get along.
07:50He's being brave.
07:51He is.
07:52Good boy.
07:53Even Kobe seems kind of interested.
07:55You can tell Moki just wants to mother him.
07:57The brave little boy.
07:59Oh, look at him.
08:01Oh my god, he's so cute.
08:03Right, we're going to let the chaos in
08:05because she can't stay in there forever.
08:07And we're just going to have to teach her boundaries
08:10and teach her that it's not okay to be super overbearing.
08:14Elsa, we'll separate her if she goes too much.
08:17Yeah, we'll do.
08:17She's just sniffing him right now.
08:19What's funny is Elsa didn't seem like that much of a dog person.
08:22We just don't want her to be too overbearing.
08:25Good boy.
08:27Yeah.
08:27I think he's inquisitive.
08:30He's like, you're friendly.
08:31But he's like, I don't want to play.
08:33Yeah, a bit overbearing.
08:34Elsa.
08:35But you can see by what he's trying to actively avoid her.
08:38Yeah.
08:39Elsa.
08:39Right now, I think Elsa's just a little bit too excited.
08:42She's also bigger than him.
08:43So she's like, yeah, I can get all over him.
08:45I can climb all over him.
08:46Hello, boy.
08:46So breed traits do matter.
08:48A lot of dogs were originally born to be protective.
08:50But we're big believers that environment shapes the dog.
08:53Good socialization is everything.
08:55Especially for dogs with garden backgrounds.
08:58Dogs aren't born aggressive.
09:00It's usually poor socialization or the wrong upbringing that causes that.
09:04So for King, this is perfect socialization.
09:07And with the right guidance, he'll grow up as friendly as anything.
09:10It looks like we've got a farm again.
09:11We've got two puppies, our doberman, two rescues and Kobe.
09:15So we have six dogs again.
09:16Somehow, we just keep turning our house into a dog farm.
09:20And then out of nowhere, King gave us his first bit of hope with Elsa.
09:24Oh my god, this is the cutest thing ever.
09:26It's like a marshmallow playing with a, what's he?
09:28What's he?
09:29Yeah.
09:29A potato.
09:30Yeah, it's like a marshmallow playing with a naked potato.
09:33A naked potato.
09:34Well, he's got no fur, bless him.
09:36He's like bald behind the ears.
09:38Oh, look at him.
09:40I feel like these two are going to be best friends.
09:43Oh.
09:44That's really good.
09:45So chow chows can notoriously be not great with other dogs.
09:50But we are here to prove that it really just depends on how you bring them up.
09:53Same with American bulldogs.
09:55They may look a little bit scary.
09:57But look at him.
09:58He's the soppiest thing.
09:59You just got to make sure they're well socialized.
10:01King then already started to show us his true personality.
10:05It's just going to be absolute chaos.
10:08Oh, my God.
10:09Oh, that's adorable.
10:11Oh, my God.
10:11They're sharing the water bowl.
10:13Oh, my God.
10:15And Elsa has already gone.
10:18Playful.
10:18She's telling him off now.
10:19The funny thing with puppets is they'll play and then they'll just like get too excited and
10:23tell each other off.
10:24That's good.
10:24That's how they teach each other manners.
10:26Yeah.
10:26That's how they teach each other manners.
10:27And how to play gentle.
10:28Yeah.
10:29Right.
10:29King's just knocked the water all over the floor and then realized that's the water
10:32bowl.
10:33That's brilliant.
10:33Thanks, King.
10:34Why did we decide to get a bunch of puppies?
10:36Because I love puppies.
10:39Puppies, puppies, puppies.
10:41Whoop, whoop, whoop.
10:42Puppies, puppies, puppies.
10:44Whoop, whoop.
10:45If you love your foster mama, say.
10:48So I'm getting the dog's food ready.
10:50King has already learned where it gets prepared.
10:52We fed him and then brought him and Elsa upstairs for the first time.
10:57All right.
10:58The puppies.
10:59Oh, King's first time in the room.
11:02No.
11:03You're not going on the bed.
11:05Look at him.
11:07His face.
11:09Well done.
11:09That's good.
11:10He learns quick.
11:11Like when you tell him not to jump and stuff, he's learning quick.
11:14Oh, oh, oh.
11:17Hello.
11:18King then settled on me.
11:20He's the soppiest little thing.
11:22Be sure to subscribe to keep up to date on how these two get along.
11:25We've rescued over 40 dogs so far.
