00:00This is our rescue puppy Zippy meeting our dogs for the first time.
00:04Seven days later, a couple came to visit her for a possible adoption,
00:07but she was so nervous she hid under the table.
00:10It's been a crazy journey and it all started on day one.
00:15So we've just arrived home with Zippy.
00:17She's done a three-day journey all the way from the Ukraine to here in the UK.
00:21Both our dogs, Kobe and Moki, are currently out,
00:24so that Zippy has some time to sniff around and get used to her surroundings,
00:27and then she'll meet the dogs individually first, then both dogs at the same time.
00:32We've never had a rescue as sketchy as Zippy.
00:34She's clearly really been through it.

01:21We made sure to keep our distance from her and let her approach us when she was ready.

01:31But she did start following Ella a bit, which was good.

04:05Zippy is so nervous and unsure she hadn't even explored everything yet.
04:09We felt really uncomfortable introducing her to the dogs just yet.

04:59She was clearly feeling really overwhelmed, so we took Kobe away from her to give her some space.

05:22relaxed which is good they're kind of just ignoring each other at the moment but when
05:26all the dogs meet together they start to engage more and now it's time for Moki to meet Zippy
05:37things couldn't have gotten off to a worse start with these two Moki was just way too excited so we
05:48took her off to the side to watch Zippy and take a minute to just breathe Zippy was actually happy
05:53to have some neck scratches which was nice we walked Moki around a bit to shake off any anxiety
05:59and we trust Moki so we let go of her to say hello and she just left
06:07she was really thirsty bless her but she came back to try and win Zippy over

07:05the morning of day two was really hard
07:07Zippy woke up feeling really unsure
07:10it made me sad seeing her little tail wax
07:12you could tell she wanted to trust us but had to make sure we weren't going to hurt her
07:17she's probably like this because when she was a puppy she was left at a train station for three days

07:24we tried to get Zippy downstairs and I'll let you see how that played out

11:07after destroying her bed a bit and even more zoomies we started to worry a bit about zippy's
11:12forever home we're fostering zippy and the rescue we were working with had already found someone to
11:18come and meet her i'm about to get on to what this meant for zippy but she needs to have
11:22breakfast
11:22first and the prancing went crazy whilst if he enjoys her food and then spend some time playing
11:34with the dogs let me tell you about zippy's situation she was still pretty nervous around
11:39people and we haven't even tried to take her outside yet but we do try and do this the next
11:44day
11:44we really wanted more time with her but at the end of the day she isn't ours and if another
11:49family came
11:50and wanted to be the ones to help zippy come out her shell then that's up to them i'd have
11:55massive
11:55respect for it you'll see what happened with zippy by the end of the week every time we went to

12:01our dogs zippy always looked really excited like she wanted to go out and so in day five we made

12:08first mistake when we showed her the lead she looked like she wanted to come on the walk so we
12:12tried to
12:13take her with our two dogs and this happened all right you two come come on zippy no it's fine

12:44in hindsight we should have just stayed there and let her take everything in
12:47but kobe and mochi were ready to walk so the whole thing was just not thought out very well
12:52so we took her back inside but she did really well even making it that far on day six we
12:57had a
12:57massive problem so zippy's potential new family were coming to visit her tomorrow but zippy has
13:02actually been throwing up nearly every meal we've given her we were getting pretty worried so we
13:07decided to take her to the vet we knew this was going to make her pretty uncomfortable but she
13:12actually kind of surprised us she looked pretty scared but also kind of curious she was looking around
13:18a lot and then to our surprise decided she wanted to have a little wonder
13:28that's good she was having a sniff around which really surprised us we thought she'd be way too
13:35scared to do anything but question is how will she react when the vet deals with her
13:47she was being such a brave girl the vet did some general checks on her made sure she's hydrated
13:53checked her heartbeat is okay and finally did some checks around her stomach area to make sure she's
13:58not experiencing any pain we checked her weight and then she had an anti-sickness jab listened to
14:04the little cry she did nearly made us all cry after some pets for being so good we took her
14:20home to
14:20see kobe and mochi they definitely knew where she'd been where she's been
14:26uh-huh mochi mochi oh look at kobe he's like you okay so what actually happened to her the vet
14:35couldn't
14:36find anything out the ordinary she likely just had an upset stomach due to all the stress from
14:40traveling coming to a new home meeting new people dogs she's been through a lot she was given some
14:46special food to settle her stomach which she absolutely loved and now all that's left is for zippy
14:51to meet her new family in day seven this amazing couple wanted to remain anonymous so i'll be calling
14:57them the couple before they came to meet zippy they did go through an extensive survey and home checks
15:02to see if they were suitable i also explained to them on the phone that zippy can still be quite
15:07shy
15:07and likely won't pay you much attention on the visit but they were happy to come and see her anyway
15:12you can see zippy keeping her distance and it wasn't long until she retreated to underneath the
15:17table i really thought there was no chance this couple would want to adopt her that little white
15:22speck under the table yeah that zippy bless her but the couple was so patient with her until
15:27eventually she came out to get cuddled so the couple did previously have a rescue called kiwi until she
15:33sadly passed away a few months ago they told us that kiwi was just like zippy when they first got
15:39her
15:39really scared and nervous this was nice for us to hear because it meant that this couple has
15:44previously had experience with dealing with scared dogs they knew how much time they needed after
15:49about an hour to my amazement zippy actually started to come out her shell and the couple got a chance
15:55to
15:55see a glimpse of her personality i think their mind was made up the minute they saw her because they
16:00decided to adopt zippy although i do wish we had more time with her she has come so far in
16:06only six days
16:07it was really hard to see this one go but i could just tell by the way the couple were
16:11with her
16:12they were perfect to carry on all the progress she's made this isn't the end of zippy's story
16:17though it's just the beginning they have been sending us updates on zippy and look at her shining
