00:00Good morning. As we head over the next couple of days, things will start to heat up for a number
00:05of places,
00:05but not for everyone as there's still a little bit of weather around for the next couple of days.
00:10And it's all to do with this rain that we've got across the northwest of the UK for Sunday morning.
00:16Just clipping Northern Ireland for a time and drifting into Northern England,
00:20but it's Western Scotland that will see the most persistent and the heaviest of this rain by the middle part
00:25of the afternoon.
00:27Aberdeenshire and the Northern Isles, they will see some brightness and some dry weather to begin with for much of
00:33the afternoon.
00:33But it's across the south, across Wales and southern England that will see the best of the brightness and the
00:38best of the sunshine to end the weekend.
00:41So here we'll see the temperatures around the mid-20s, possibly getting up towards those high 20s across the very
00:46far southeast.
00:47Across the north, it will just be a little bit cooler under that cloud and rain around the high teens
00:51to end the weekend.
00:54Now, as we go through the evening, that rain will just slowly push its way eastward.
00:58So again, Aberdeen may see some outbreaks of rain towards the late evening.
01:02And across Northern England, it does turn a bit patchier by the early hours of Sunday.
01:07Northern Ireland will just see a little bit of rain just drifting in towards the east as well.
01:11But a lot of that heavy rain is now confined towards the northwest.
01:15We may even see some outbreaks of rain across the higher hills of Wales as well.
01:19But further south, we do have some clear skies and it will be another mild night to come.
01:23Around the mid-teens, so 15s and 16s, we could even see a 17 across the very far southeast to
01:29start the new week.
01:31Now, Monday is going to be very similar to the last couple of days.
01:34However, this rain is going to push its way northwards and be confined towards the Northern Isles of Scotland.
01:41So towards the south part of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England is going to be a little bit drier
01:45than what they saw over the last couple of days.
01:48There's still going to be some patchy rain here and there.
01:50But within that cloud, it will feel a lot drier as well.
01:54Across Wales, the Midlands and Southern England, again, best of the brightness and the best of the sunshine.
02:00And you'll see those temperatures are slowly on the rise again.
02:03So around the high 20s, even getting up to 32 degrees across the very far southeast.
02:09So we are starting to see those threshold criterias being met for another heat wave that is on its way
02:14this week.
02:14It is just a little bit cooler across the north under that cloud and rain for Monday.
02:19Now, as we go through the next couple of days, this high pressure towards the southwest will slowly start to
02:25build and draw in that warmer air from the south,
02:29keeping these weather systems at bay towards the northern half of the UK.
02:33And that will allow the temperatures to slowly climb day on day as we go through the week.
02:38However, it's not going to be for everyone.
02:40Although temperatures are still going to be pretty warm for much of the UK,
02:45it is going to be across the Midlands and the southeast, which are going to see the highest of those
02:50temperatures.
02:50So 32, possibly even 33 degrees by the time we get to Wednesday.
02:54And it does look like it is going to stick around for a good few days.
02:58But how long will it actually stick around for?
