00:02Well, we had some welcome rain this weekend, but it still remains very dry in places.
00:07Temperatures also came down, but this week we're going to start to see temperatures increase
00:11day by day.
00:12Now, for the time being, it should be a mostly dry start.
00:15Some sunshine across many eastern areas will start to cloud over from the west with just
00:20some showers just filtering through at times, but for many areas it is going to be dry.
00:25A return of the sunny spells, especially across central and southern England and Wales.
00:31Still a very dry picture for many areas though.
00:34Temperatures slightly higher than what we had yesterday.
00:37Highs reaching between 22 to 26 degrees Celsius across many areas of England and Wales.
00:43A touch lower across much of the north, but still higher than what we had yesterday.
00:47So for Northern Ireland, eastern areas of Scotland, it will feel that much warmer, especially where
00:52we see the brighter spells later on into the day.
00:56Now, overnight, there will still be some showers pushing through in from the west.
01:01Quite dry for many areas, but notice behind me, we have got this other system of rain pushing
01:06its way in from the north west, initially into Northern Ireland, then parts of Scotland
01:10and some areas of Northern England could turn quite heavy actually, especially as it initially
01:15moves through and as it pushes up over any high ground, we could see the odd heavier downpour.
01:20A few drizzly showers just pushing in around the Welsh hills, but otherwise a dry night.
01:25Still some clearer skies across much of the east and southeast.
01:29So very much a north-south split as we head our way into Tuesday, not turning quite as cool
01:34as it did the night prior either, just with more cloud and also that rain around in the
01:38north.
01:39So for Tuesday, a very wet start for many Northern areas, still the odd heavier downpour
01:44as the system pushes its way eastwards.
01:47It will eventually start to clear Northern Ireland, the northern parts of England and
01:50Scotland as well by the afternoon, but still quite cloudy with some showers around.
01:55Still for many areas of England and Wales, not much rain at all, a return of the sunny
02:00spells across much of the south and also the southeast.
02:04And notice those temperatures beginning to climb once again, pushing into the mid to
02:08high 20s for many areas.
02:09Even a slight climb in temperatures across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland, highs
02:13between 20 to 22 degrees Celsius here.
02:16So it's still going to be quite warm for many areas, even if you do see the rain first thing.
02:21And that north-south split in the weather seems to continue as we progress into this week.
02:27There's still some areas of low pressure which will skirt their way across the north of the
02:31UK there, bringing more cloud and some showers and some rain here through the early part of
02:36this week.
02:37But notice further south, high pressure still very much holding on.
02:41It tends to build across eastern parts of Europe.
02:44And we then start to see this warmer air across the near continent dragged northwards and pushing
02:49into much of England and Wales by the time we reach Wednesday.
02:53And Wednesday is looking like the peak of the heat for now.
02:56Some areas pushing into that 30 degree mark once again, 30 degrees Celsius, but still where
03:01we see more clouds and showers further north, temperatures not getting quite as high here,
03:06but still widely in the low 20s.
03:09Now Wednesday, like I said, is likely to be the peak of the heat before temperatures start
03:13to move back down towards the end of the week.
