28 June - National morning forecast presented by Liam Eslick
Transcript
00:00As we come to the end of the heatwave, last night was hopefully the last of the uncomfortable
00:05nights to come as we are starting to see some fresh air starting to move in over the next
00:09couple of days. We still have the amber heat warning across the southeast but that will
00:14clear around nine o'clock in the morning as this band of cloud and patchy rain will
00:19just push that humidity out towards the east through the afternoon. We do have some showers
00:25up towards Scotland and Northern Ireland but otherwise a bright sunny day for most people
00:30and it will actually feel like a typical summer's day actually. It will still feel hot in a few
00:35places, chiefly across the eastern half of England but elsewhere around those mid to
00:40low 20s and even into the teens up towards the northwest. So a lot lower than what we
00:46saw on Friday and Saturday and will feel a lot more comfortable than what we saw at the
00:51end of last week. As we go through the overnight period, those blustery showers do continue
00:56across Scotland and for parts of Northern Ireland. Got a little bit more in the way of cloud and
01:01some showers across the southwest. But the temperatures overnights, look at those, a lot
01:07more comfortable to come around those mid to low double figures and it's the humidity that
01:12is going to be a lot lower for the overnight period. So a more comfortable night sleep for
01:17Sunday night before we start the new working week. As we head through Monday, it is going
01:22to be a normal summer's day. Again, those showers just continuing for a little bit across the
01:28very far northwest. But some bright sunshine, it may turn a little bit hazy through the afternoon
01:34with some higher clouds starting to drift in and we may start to see some fair weather
01:38cloud just bubbling up through the day into the afternoon. But again, temperatures just a couple
01:43of degrees lower than what we are expecting on Sunday. Around those low to mid 20s, we've
01:49still got a 25 across London there. So it is closer to average. But if we have a look
01:54at this map, this is comparing the temperatures to what we would expect for June. So there are
01:59still a few places that are above average across the eastern half of England. But look at the
02:04western Scotland, a few degrees below average. But it's still going to feel a lot cooler than
02:09what it did last week. So although it is above average, it may feel a little bit fresher than
02:14what it has done over the last few days. So as we head towards the end of the first month
02:19of summer, we still have two more to go. So is there a chance that we could see the return
02:23of these hot weathers? Stay with us for all the latest.
