00:00It has been another hot day today with highs of around 31 degrees, but we are going to
00:06start to see those temperatures start to drop off over the next couple of days.
00:09We do want to keep a close eye on these showers across the southeast.
00:13Now they could turn thundery with the mix of some hail and some gusty winds through
00:16the evening, but they are going to move off rather quickly and we still have an amber
00:20heat warning in place across parts of the southeast of England for the overnight period
00:25as it is still going to feel quite muggy and temperatures again still getting up towards
00:3020 degrees for the overnight period.
00:32So still seeing those tropical nights in places, but under this band of rain and cloud is starting
00:38to turn a little bit fresher from the west, especially across Northern Ireland and Scotland
00:43for Saturday night.
00:45As we go through the rest of Sunday, this band of rain will slowly start to break up.
00:50It does turn patchy at times and does become more of a cloud feature as it does reach the
00:55eastern half of England by the late morning and into the afternoon.
00:59Much of that cloud should lift and it will start to break up through the afternoon and
01:03it will leave a pretty pleasant summer's day for the rest of Sunday.
01:07There's a few showers and blustery winds across northwestern parts of Scotland, but temperatures
01:13wise a lot lower than what we saw over the last few days.
01:17Around those mid to low 20s, it is still hot in a few places around 25, 26 degrees over
01:23towards the eastern coast of England.
01:25But if we compare those temperatures to what we saw on Saturday, it is a lot lower.
01:31Most places around five or six degrees lower than what they saw on Saturday, a few places
01:36even seven degrees lower.
01:38So a much, much fresher feel than what we saw for the latter part of last week and for the
01:43first half of the weekend.
01:44Now, as we go through the rest of Sunday evening, you still have those blustery showers across
01:49the very northwest and we do have a few more creeping in towards the southwest as well.
01:54But overnight, we have a little bit of cloud out towards Wales, but clearer skies towards
01:59the eastern half of England.
02:01But it is those temperatures overnight that is going to feel much, much fresher around those
02:06mid to low double figures.
02:08And the humidity levels have fallen away, so a much more comfortable night on Sunday as
02:13we head towards Monday and to start the new working week.
02:17Now, Monday is going to be very similar to Sunday, a nice bright start to the day.
02:23A few of those showers across northern England as well.
02:25Now, they will peter out through the day.
02:27A few more continuing across Scotland, but drying up across Northern Ireland as well.
02:32Now, sunshine may turn hazy through the afternoon just as we have some higher cloud moving in
02:38and we could see some fair weather cloud bubbling up through the day.
02:42But again, temperatures a lot lower than what we saw at the end of last week, even a couple
02:46of degrees lower than Sunday actually, around those low 20s for much of England and Wales,
02:52even getting into those teens for Scotland as well.
02:55So these are the sorts of temperatures we should expect for the time of year across the eastern
03:00coast.
03:00They're actually even one or two degrees above average for the time of year.
03:03But it will feel much fresher than what we saw at the end of last week.
03:08Now we still have a couple of months left of summer.
03:11So will we see the return of these really hot conditions that we saw at the end of June?
03:16Well, don't forget to go over towards our YouTube channel for all the latest.
