27 June - National morning forecast presented by Liam Eslick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there.
00:01After breaking June's maximum temperature record for three days in a row, we're finally
00:05at the last day of the very hot weather.
00:08We do have that warm weather just sat over the southeast of the UK at the moment, but
00:14we do have these weather systems coming in from the west, and you'll see these cooler
00:17colours just behind it, which will introduce some fresher air as we head towards the weekend.
00:23But for the time being, we still have an amber weather warning for heat across the southeast
00:28for this afternoon, so it's still going to be a very hot day for many places in the
00:33southeast.
00:34Still going to be quite hot elsewhere, probably not as hot as the last few days, and we do
00:38have these rain bands coming in towards the northwest into the afternoon.
00:43Like I said, it is still going to be a hot day, highs of around 32 degrees across the
00:48southeast, but again, elsewhere into those high 20s, and as that rain does approach from
00:54the northwest.
00:55It does drop towards those low 20s, maybe into those high teens as we head towards the
00:59afternoon.
01:00Now, if we keep an eye on the southeast, we want to keep a very close eye on these thunderstorms
01:05as they move through.
01:06They are likely to be heavy and cause a few disruptions.
01:09They should move through rather quickly, leaving clear skies as this band of rain does move its
01:14way in towards the west as it does push its way eastwards.
01:18It will turn a little bit fresher behind that as well, so a much more comfortable night
01:22here out towards the west, but further towards the east, temperatures here are still around
01:2620 degrees, so it still could be quite sticky and quite muggy as we head towards Sunday
01:30morning.
01:32But as we head through Sunday, a lot of this rain does start to peter out.
01:36It does turn a little bit more patchy and a little bit more sporadic at times, and we
01:40are left with this band of cloud through the late morning and into the afternoon.
01:45It should lift and it should clear as we reach the middle part of the afternoon.
01:49We've got one or two showers just across Scotland and Northern Ireland by the late afternoon
01:54as well.
01:54But otherwise, it's a more typical summer's day.
01:57Temperatures still above average for the time of year, but you'll see a much fresher day
02:02as well.
02:02A few places a good 10 degrees lower than what we saw a couple of days ago as well, so
02:07a
02:08much more comfortable feel to end the weekend.
02:11Now, as you head through the overnight period, those temperatures will be a much more comfortable
02:15temperature to be sleeping in as well.
02:17A lot of the humidity will have moved off as well, so the dew points are a little bit
02:22lower.
02:22So a good night's sleep to come on Sunday night.
02:25Now as we go through the week, it is still going to be a settled week to come.
02:29Temperatures still above average for the time of year, but for all the latest on what's
02:33to come for the rest of the summer, don't forget to head over towards our YouTube channel
