00:01Hello there. It is going to be a bit of a north-south split across the UK for much of
00:05the weekend.
00:05But as we go into next week, temperatures will slowly start to rise for a few places across the south.
00:11Now that is due to this high pressure system we've got out towards the southwest.
00:15And you'll notice we do have these wavy fronts that are draped across the north of the UK for today.
00:20And that will continue into tomorrow. And we do have a bit of a squeeze of those ice bars as
00:25well.
00:25So the winds across the north are going to be blustery in and amongst this rain and cloud that is
00:30going to be sat across parts of western Scotland through this afternoon.
00:35There's some patchy rain across northern England, parts of North Wales and parts of Northern Ireland as well.
00:40But some bright skies across the south, some patchy cloud in places, but it will feel rather warm, possibly even
00:47hot in a few spots.
00:48It's getting up to 28 degrees across the southeast, but quite chiefly around those mid to low 20s, a little
00:54bit cooler up towards the north under that cloud and rain and in that blustery wind as well.
01:00Now as we head through the overnight period, a lot of that rain across western Scotland will slowly start to
01:06ease and start to turn a little bit more patchy through the overnight period.
01:09It does sink its way southwards across northwestern England, but we do have some clearer skies across the south as
01:16well.
01:16And the winds are dying down, so we could see some mist and fog patches developing in a few spots
01:22across the south.
01:23But again, a mild night to come around the mid-teens for most places, so it will be a pretty
01:29mild start to Sunday morning.
01:32Now as we head into Sunday, you'll notice we do have another band of rain that is moving in towards
01:38the north.
01:38It could spill into northern Ireland for a time and stretching a little bit further south across northern England as
01:45well.
01:45But the most persistent and the heaviest of that rain is again going to be across western Scotland, further towards
01:51Aberdeenshire.
01:52It may be dry for a time, but as we head towards the afternoon, it will start to turn a
01:56little bit wetter here.
01:58But again, across the south, a much drier and brighter picture with some sunniest bells poking through that cloud.
02:05And in that sunshine, it is going to be another warm to even hot day as well.
02:09Temperatures a little bit up on what we're expecting on Saturday, 29 degrees across the southeast.
02:15And again, more widely into those mid-twenties, 25s, 26s across much of England and Wales.
02:22And again, just a little bit cooler under that cloud and rain up towards the north.
02:26Now, as we head through the next few days and towards the end of the weekend, that heat will continue
02:32to slowly build up as we head through Monday, Tuesday and even into Wednesday as well.
02:39So as we head into next week, we could see the return of heat wave criteria for a few spots.
02:44And the question is, how long will this heat last?
02:47But for all the latest on that, don't forget to head over towards our YouTube channel and subscribe.
