00:00Hello there, it's been a pretty wet and chilly start to summer so far, but will we see the
00:05return of sunshine into the second week of June? The short answer is no. It is going
00:10to be a damp start. We do have some heavy rain that is moving its way eastwards across
00:14central and eastern England through the morning. Some of this is likely to be heavy, we could
00:20see up to 20mm falling within a couple of hours and we could potentially see the odd
00:24rumble of thunder within that as well. A few more showers across Northern Ireland, but
00:29for the rest of the UK, we do have some sunnier spells. Across Wales and Northern England
00:33and Scotland, we will see plenty of sunshine through the afternoon. However, it is going
00:38to feel rather chilly. Temperatures around the mid-teens, we may get an 18 or 19 towards the
00:44very far southeast. But if we have a look at this map, this is comparing the temperatures
00:50to the June average and you'll see a lot of places are around 3 to 5 degrees lower than
00:56what we would expect for the first month of summer. So, it is a pretty chilly start to
01:02the month. As we go through the evening and into the overnight period, we do have a little
01:07bit of a low developing across the very northwest, which is bringing in these showers across the
01:13western half of the UK. Some of these could be heavy, but a lot drier and clearer across
01:18the southeast as well. Temperatures here could get towards those low single figures. Elsewhere
01:24into those higher single figures, 8 to 9, maybe a possible 10 degrees for Tuesday morning.
01:30Now, as we head into Tuesday, although it was a nice start across southeastern England, those
01:36showers will develop and everywhere could see a shower by the late morning and into the afternoon.
01:42Some of these are going to be heavy, more widespread across Scotland and northern England, where
01:48here we could hear the odd rumble of thunder, possibly even the mix of some hail here as
01:52well. And across those southern counties where we may get a little bit more organization along
01:57those showers as well. There is going to be some brighter spells in between, but even
02:02in those sunnier spells, temperatures once again are going to feel rather cool for the time
02:07of year. Similar to what we're expecting on Monday around the mid-teens, 16s and 17s. Again,
02:12may get an 18 or 19 a bit further towards the southeast.
02:17As we go through the week, that unsettled nature is going to continue into Wednesday. Thursday,
02:22we have another system coming in which is going to turn a bit wetter as well. But post that,
02:27we may see something a little bit more settled as we go into the weekend. But for all the details
02:32on that, don't forget to check out our videos on our YouTube channel.
