06 April - National afternoon forecast presented by Liam Eslick.
Transcript
00:01Hello there. After Storm David at the weekend, it does look like we are in for some settled
00:06weather as we head through the new week. But to end the bank holiday on Monday, we do have
00:11this high pressure in charge across the southeast, which will keep much of these weather fronts
00:16at bay out towards the west across Northern Ireland for the coming days. It will still
00:21be quite cloudy here. We do still have some outbreaks of rain across western Scotland,
00:25and it will be quite breezy across the west as well. But further towards the east,
00:30plenty of sunshine around. It will feel rather warm as well. Temperatures around the mid-teens,
00:36especially in that sunshine, it will feel quite pleasant as well. Even up towards the north,
00:41where it is a little bit cloudier, temperatures still in towards those double figures by the
00:45afternoon. Now, as we go through the evening, much of this cloud across the west, across Scotland
00:52and Northern Ireland will start to melt away and we will start to see some clearer skies
00:56overnight tonight. So temperatures, especially across the north, will fall away. We could even
01:02see some grass frost in a few spots, especially across Scotland and Northern England. But further
01:08towards the south, it is going to be pretty mild. Some places even staying above double figures for
01:13the time being. But on Tuesday, it is going to be much of the same. Plenty of sunshine around,
01:19especially across England and Wales. We do have this band of rain moving in towards the west,
01:25which will introduce some thicker cloud across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. And we could
01:30even see some outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland as well. For Northern England, Wales and the
01:36southwest, that cloud will turn that sunshine a little bit hazier, perhaps even milky through the
01:42middle part of the afternoon. But it is still going to be a very warm day to come. Temperatures even
01:47up towards 20. We could even see 22 degrees as well, which will make it the warmest day of the
01:53year
01:53so far. Now, this band of rain across Western Scotland and Northern Ireland will slowly move its way
02:00eastwards through the evening on Tuesday. And it will still be pretty clear across the southeast as we
02:07end Tuesday and head it into Wednesday as well. So how long will this warm and settled weather stick
02:13around for? Well, don't forget to head over towards our YouTube channel for all the latest.
