00:01Hello, this breezy but mild November weather continues with some heavy rain developing
00:07in places and the focus for heavy rain shifting further south during the rest of Tuesday.
00:12After lunchtime, it's part of Wales and the south-west where we'll see the wettest weather,
00:17with the rain accumulating through the rest of Tuesday, Tuesday night into the start of
00:21Wednesday over the hills and mountains of south Wales and the south-west of England
00:26in particular, more than 50mm in places could cause some issues, yellow warning in force.
00:31Outbreaks of rain also continuing further north, north Wales, parts of the Midlands, northern
00:36England and southern Scotland, but not as wet as it has been as we've started the week.
00:41Either side of these various rain bands, we do have some drier weather, east Anglia and
00:45the south-east, parts of northern Scotland as well as Northern Ireland with some sunny
00:50spells coming through here, although a little feature will bring some showery rain to the
00:54north-west of mainland Scotland.
00:57Across the board, it is another mild one, but it's particularly windy in places particularly
01:03towards the south-west, 50mph gusts around some exposed coasts.
01:08Those strong winds will push the rain further north into the evening, a wet spell for the
01:13evening rush hour through parts of Wales pushing into the Midlands, and then overnight
01:16that rain extending into northern England, much of Northern Ireland, southern and central Scotland.
01:22And that's how things look as we begin Wednesday, this broad swathe of gloomy and wet weather
01:30across many parts of western and northern UK.
01:32But the far north of Scotland, as well as parts of East Anglia and the south-east, seeing
01:37clear spells overnight and mostly dry as we start the day.
01:41Mild for many, but where we've got the clear skies and the light winds in the north of Scotland,
01:46it will be a much fresher start to the day.
01:50Now these weather fronts are going to continue to march northwards during Wednesday, 5th November.
01:57Low pressure sitting to the south-west maintains a very mild southerly to south-west air flow,
02:02although not quite as windy on Wednesday as Tuesday.
02:06And as we see these rain bands drifting north through northern England, Northern Ireland,
02:10and then more especially across much of central and northern Scotland later in the day, we're
02:14going to see drier weather develop across many parts of England and Wales, but it stays cloudy
02:18and there will still be some light, showery rain across western parts of the country.
02:23East Anglia and the south-east once again faring well for drier and brighter weather with remarkably
02:29mild temperatures for the time of year, 16 or 17 Celsius in the south, 13 or 14 across
02:34much of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:36It's only the far north where we see Shetland sitting in clearer spells and cooler weather
02:42through the day.
02:43Heading into the evening for bonfire night, of course, there will be some showery rain around.
02:49Wouldn't escape the wet weather across Scotland, a lot of dampness about, but the rain becoming
02:55less heavy and less prolonged.
02:57It's most likely to be sitting across the north and central as well as south-western parts of
03:02the country with some drier and clearer interludes to the east.
03:05Northern Ireland mostly dry with some clear spells, some showery, light, showery rain in
03:10places.
03:11Western England as well as Wales prone to some bits of rain but mostly dry here as well, some
03:17clear spells.
03:19And one common theme for many parts of the country is it is going to be a very mild bonfire night
03:25with temperatures staying in the teens fairly widely.
