00:00After some extraordinary early April warmth across some parts of England and Wales over
00:05the last few days, it's freshening from the west with outbreaks of rain and then some
00:09blustery showers.
00:11For the time being, it's warm across England and Wales through this evening but here's
00:15that weather front moving in.
00:16The air behind it is colder and we'll see rain pushing eastwards and then blustery showers
00:21to follow with snow above around 400 metres.
00:24This ridge from Thursday into Friday will bring the prospect of some patchy frost, some
00:30brighter skies across eastern counties before more clouds and wet and windy weather arrives.
00:36Now for this evening, you can see clearer skies across much of England and Wales but the cloud
00:40is edging its way eastwards and southwards.
00:43Under clearer skies towards central England though you could see some patchy mist overnight
00:47but notice this rain arriving across western Scotland, Northern Ireland as well, filaments
00:52further north east across Aberdeenshire as well as Shetland.
00:55Here, temperatures around 8 or 9 degrees Celsius, quite a breeze across more western parts, particularly
00:59along the coast of Scotland, North Channel and Irish Seacoast into tomorrow morning.
01:04But a bright start across central and eastern areas of England, so for the Midlands, east
01:08Anglia, the south east you'll see some sunshine before eventually the cloud will thicken.
01:12This rain could be persistent at times through the morning across Scotland, extending southwards
01:17across the north west of England, Wales for a time and the west country with showers to
01:22follow.
01:22Now these showers will be blustery, a mix of some heavy downpours, perhaps even some hailed
01:28the odd rumble of thunder as well as some snow above around 400-500 metres.
01:32We hang on to more persistent rain for Aberdeenshire as well as Shetland until later on in the
01:37afternoon.
01:38And by this point some patchy rain will have extended from northern England and Wales down
01:42towards the Midlands, bits and spots of rain, but towards the south east you'll see dry weather
01:47until much later on in the day.
01:49And with that some brighter skies to follow, but those showers will cluster together.
01:53Temperatures then, 20 degrees Celsius across the south east, east Anglia, 9-10 degrees across
01:59Scotland and Northern Ireland and for much of England and Wales relative to the last few
02:04days temperatures will be a good 9 degrees lower.
02:06So you'll feel the effects of that colder wind and certainly a little bit of rain and
02:10cloud and one or two showers.
02:13So that's the picture through Thursday afternoon.
02:16In fact the air remains rather chilly as we head into the weekend and the weather will
02:21also remain rather unsettled.
02:24So through Thursday evening that rain clears.
02:26We will see some showers, they'll be frequent across Scotland.
02:30They'll gain snow over the tops of the mountains and a blustery wind extending across Northern
02:34Ireland towards the north west of England.
02:35But some dry skies as well under clearer skies, some frost particularly towards the north there
02:40as the cloud thickens across Northern Ireland, England and Wales.
02:44Even so temperatures will be lower than the last few nights.
02:47Certainly we'll see a frost across the north and chilly to start the day across England
02:50and Wales as well as Northern Ireland, 3-4 degrees Celsius.
02:54So through Friday morning we hang on to some showers across the far north of Scotland.
02:59Some brighter weather across the rest of Scotland, even the northeast of England seeing some hazy
03:04sunshine.
03:05The cloud could break at times further south and east as well but further west with that
03:09thickening cloud and stronger winds.
03:11By around late morning into lunchtime we'll see first the rain across Northern Ireland as
03:16well as Wales.
03:16Some patchy rain for Cornwall as well as Devon.
03:18Through the afternoon it will only slowly edge in across Western Scotland as well as the
03:24Midlands but mostly towards the west that's where the rain will ramp up.
03:28And then we'll see an unsettled weekend with blustery showers.
03:30More details, check out our 10 day trend.
03:33This week it's with Honour and I'll see you again soon.
