00:01what's up everyone Jacob here again bringing you some awesome sounding
00:05updates about Godzilla x kong supernova as usual this update comes from some
00:10random movie theater press release list of upcoming movies within all that you
00:15guessed it supernova and this is where the film's described genre was revealed
00:20and it's kind of got people thinking it's meaning the monster verse is
00:24changing its tone towards a darker and more serious world if you like the sound
00:29of that go ahead and slap that like button isn't it wild that the monster
00:32verse is 12 years old now 2014 was this cool grounded disaster genre movie that
00:39was super dark like you couldn't see anything Skull Island a damn good time
00:43Vietnam era action-adventure monster flick King of the monsters that's this
00:48extreme sci-fi epic they showed everyone what a traditional Godzilla movie made in
00:53modern times could really be Godzilla vs Kong a sci-fi action-adventure film that
00:59saved cinema during kovid and brought the versus theme of movies a solid W the new
01:04Empire sci-fi to the max this time thrown into a buddy comedy action-adventure and
01:10now we know what genre supernova will be listed as officially at least that first
01:14here a dystopian sci-fi drama thriller drama just means that between the humans
01:20and probably Titans even there will be some high-stakes interactions and I don't
01:24know emotions thrown around which could be cool if it's done in a way that doesn't
01:28suck thriller just means the story is going to be crafted in a way that
01:33intends to keep audiences at the edge of their seat which might truthfully be my
01:37favorite part about this update if you go back and watch the monster verse movies
01:42they're all enjoyable in their own way right but you can get a real sense for
01:46how each movie slowly feels less and less suspenseful as the series goes on so if
01:51we can get a monster verse movie that gets these storytelling adrenaline going
01:55again I think there's a real good chance that supernova will only elevate the
01:59franchise towards another Renaissance if you get me whether people like Godzilla
02:03or King Kong or giant monster movies in general a good thriller can attract a lot
02:08of people I think Godzilla minus one dipped into this some when that movie
02:13outperformed expectations and I think legendary or Grant Spitora at least saw this
02:18and decided to have a go at this type of storytelling who knows now dystopian
02:24there's a new one for the series a dystopian movie pretty much can be summed
02:29up as a world or universe where society is living outside of the norm usually it's
02:33not like a good time either within a dystopian story there are some typical
02:38subgenres there's the totalitarian version which usually have stories based
02:43around the extreme social pressures of society living under the rule of some a
02:48whole government the Hunger Games is a pretty good example of this type of
02:53movie then we have the apocalyptic dystopia taking place during the
02:57aftermath of some disaster a lot of us have heard of the Fallout games or show
03:02right Pacific Rim ring a bell pretty much stuff like that movies like the matrix
03:07showcase a cyber dystopia where the world has been consumed by technology and is
03:12maybe not better off for it usually following a consistent theme of consequences
03:17you can also throw in an ecological dystopia when the world is dying and
03:22society has to face the reality of that think avatar here lastly you have a
03:27genetic dystopia usually based on some biological fallout walking dead the last
03:32of us planet of the apes any dystopian movie can combine these into their own
03:37story and I think supernova will be headed down that path blending elements of
03:42at least a few of these sub genres of a dystopian world if I had to make a guess I'd
03:46say supernova will be a blend of an apocalyptic ecological and the
03:50totalitarian dystopia and here's why after you subscribe to the channel at
03:56this point in the monster verse timeline titans and monsters have been around
03:59public knowledge for 20 years almost and I do believe that finally through either
04:04an asteroid impact Titan uprising or the universe just finally acknowledges that
04:09almost every major city on the planet has took some form of hit by this point
04:13that the nations of the world are finally going to do something about it
04:17although I don't think that that would warrant the apocalyptic title just yet so
04:21there's a good chance that something pretty huge and messed up is going to
04:24happen to earth during supernova in the wake of this an ecological dystopia could
04:29also be formed this was the direction the monster verse was headed before
04:33Ghidorah got turned into a sock puppet for Godzilla and probably again when Shimo
04:38almost altered the earth's weather to enter a serious ice age again it's fair to
04:42say that nearly any Titan can create some form of ecological dystopia if it
04:46wasn't for Godzilla to be honest and in the wake of whatever disaster that
04:51happens I think a totalitarian government will emerge begin to enforce a
04:55new set of rules there's always the chance that after Rio was destroyed that
05:00the world's governments had finally had enough and hard pivoted towards
05:03dictating how society can live probably saying they're just doing what's
05:07best for everyone no doubt some set photos that have surfaced might have
05:11shown this new government maybe people oddly enough wearing a symbol that
05:15resembles space Godzilla's crown which makes me do something rare it makes me
05:20think a new government order may show up after a certain cataclysmic takeover if
05:26space Godzilla is actually inbound to the monster verse there's a good chance
05:30that just like in the original that space Godzilla will attempt to not just kill
05:34Godzilla but take over the entire planet the original monster wanted to
05:39terraform earth in a form that would enhance its powers more and more
05:42eventually becoming a god any survivors would be forced to live in a world
05:47corrupted by crystals in the darkness of space Godzilla which sounds a lot like a
05:51dystopian setting right as the movie approaches we can delve deeper into some
05:56theories on all of this but right now supernova is really starting to sound
06:00interesting it sounds like the movie will seem different than any of the movies
06:04in the series so far although I want to know how they make it feel not too much
06:07like a completely new universe and this type of movie sounds like exactly what
06:12you would expect coming from director Grant Spator whose biggest hit so far is a
06:17sci-fi drama thriller a cyberpunk style dystopian universe the film I am mother
06:23now's a good time to watch that I think so we can get a sample size of what
06:26Godzilla X Kong supernova could sort of be like every director who gets their hands on
06:32the monster verse has been allowed to alter the universe some to how they
06:35perceive it and I'd imagine it won't be different here with grant none of us
06:39know just how good or enjoyable the movie will be just yet and I don't know
06:43about you but I'm probably the most intrigued I've been in a while now they
06:47might be on the something here and we may not have to wait much longer to see
06:51more with the big comic-con less than a month away there's nothing
06:55officially announced just yet but all signs are pointing towards it being more
06:59likely than not but you know let's be realistic who really knows right so

07:15it's just a vague description of what the movie should be but if anything it
