00:00When the name of your cinematic universe is the MonsterVerse, you better darn have some monsters, wouldn't want to anger
00:06Goldbloom after all.
00:07And the MonsterVerse has grown over its decade plus existence now, a healthy supply of creatures of all shapes and
00:15sizes.
00:16And speaking of sizes, thanks to the Monarch Files book released by the MonsterVerse creators,
00:21we've managed to put together the official sizes for a pile of the MonsterVerse creatures.
00:30For some reason though, they left out a good portion of the smaller lesser creatures from Monarch Legacy of Monsters,
00:36and some of the side material for the franchise like the games, which is a bit of a buzzkill if
00:41I'm being honest.
00:42Well, we're going to work with what we got because this is still the most solid set in stone bundle
00:47of information on the sizes of these monsters we've gotten yet.
00:51My plan here is to make this a little mini series on the channel, so if you like it, make
00:56sure to stick around Dangerville.
00:58I'm not sure the MonsterVerse has replicated an equally badass monster to the Skullcrawler ever since it first appeared in
01:05Kong Skull Island.
01:06These things are just simply a great case of unique creature designs thrown together to make the ultimate villainous threat
01:13to any other life forms within its vicinity.
01:15Having so much time in the franchise has given us plenty of opportunities to see this beast in all shapes
01:21and sizes, from babies to full-on augmented behemoths.
01:26But in the natural MonsterVerse world, the Skullcrawlers grow to be 12 to 95 feet, 3 to 29 meters in
01:34size.
01:34Do any of you miss seeing MonsterVerse creatures when they still resembled real-world wildlife?
01:41The Skurr Buffalo might not have made a massive impact in the minds of all movie watchers, but to me
01:47it really perked my interest in this version of Skull Island and the MonsterVerse overall.
01:51A universe where real-world mammals somehow evolved to gigantic proportions was fuel for the imagination.
01:59The Skurr Buffalo comes in at 38 to 45 feet, 11 to 13 meters in size.
02:04I've said it once, I'll say it a million times.
02:07You need smaller creatures if you ever really want to make something feel terrifying to an audience.
02:13That's why I find it odd how the Death Jackals have still not really been included in much storytelling.
02:20Coming in at 6 to 12 feet, 2 to 4 meters in length, these predators are the size of big
02:25tigers, but they work in packs to rip you to shreds and consume you while you're still screaming.
02:31When I first saw the Leaf Wings give us one of the more memorable attacks from a smaller creature,
02:37yeesh, I was like these things are awesome.
02:40They seemed plausible to exist in their real world like ancient pterosaurs that somehow survived.
02:46And if you really think about it, you could almost picture them in real life up in a tree, sitting
02:52at around 2 to 5 feet, 1 to 2 meters in size.
02:55But not all of these creatures are smaller life forms, some are truly huge.
03:00Like the siren jaw, the beast who lurks in the waterways on Skull Island.
03:05This creature is 45 to 65 feet in length, 13 to 20 meters.
03:10It's a shame we haven't seen this thing get its hunt on in live action.
03:13I feel like it would have been perfect to appear in Legacy of Monsters Season 2.
03:18Another reptilian creature that may have gone under the radar, the Aloe Turtle.
03:22This thing was probably too big to keep in your plant room though, coming in at 5 to 15 feet,
03:281 to 5 meters in size.
03:30While it's annoying how some creatures of the Monsterverse have been sidelined to roles in only comics,
03:36the Psycho Vultures did finally get a moment on screen in Season 2 of Legacy of Monsters.
03:41Could you imagine this thing in the jungles at your nearest tropical resort?
03:45That'd probably go well, right?
03:475 to 9 feet, 1 to 3 meters in total size.
03:50Now guys, I have a question for you.
03:52Have you ever looked at some bamboo and thought, you know what, that shit's deadly?
03:57Yeah, this guy didn't either, and now he's got a sore throat.
04:00Thanks to the mother long legs coming in at 18 to 23 feet in size, 5 to 7 meters.
04:07Not all of the creatures on Skull Island want to suck your insides out with their feet though, like the
04:12Spore Mantis.
04:13While being a predator, the creature seems pretty chill, and that's a good thing since this thing is 35 to
04:1955 feet in size, 10 to 17 meters.
04:22Going back to another more violent fauna form, the Vine Strangler had to be large enough to be able to
04:27eat you with its massive abdominal mouth.
04:31This monster is 9 to 12 feet in size, 3 to 4 meters.
04:34Next up we have the Swamp Locust.
04:37Having a very brief stint in the Birth of Kong series of comics, this monster has yet to be fully
04:42realized and brought forth to cause some real terror, and I don't really understand why.
04:47The Swamp Locust is said to be 22 to 28 feet in size, 7 to 9 meters, but then the
04:53majority of the concept art shown, the two specific images in the Monarch book actually, show this thing being way
05:00bigger.
05:01They really gotta do better with the consistency here, at least in the lore.
05:05Another great creature's stats that suffered from inconsistent depictions is the Spirit Tiger.
05:11A beast I would absolutely love to see in the Monstaverse, but keeps getting overlooked for some weird reason.
05:17It's said to be 15 plus feet in size or 5 meters, but then we see images of Kong holding
05:23this monster where it's got to be easily 5 times larger than that.
05:26I just feel like that shouldn't be happening.
05:29Another mammal, the Grass Hedgehog, comes in at 5 to 10 feet, 2 to 4 meters in size.
05:35Next is Kong's favorite meal, the Mire Squid.
05:37This thing had to be large enough to give Kong a battle, and well for him to fill his belly
05:42with.
05:4390 to 110 feet or 27 to 34 meters in size, counting the length of the legs.
05:48In the Monstaverse, it's kinda crazy Rodan is the only fire beast we've seen in action really.
05:55Especially when a very cool idea for a creature, the Magma Turtle, already exists in the lore.
06:00This volcanic behemoth comes in at 34 to 40 feet in size.
06:04That's all I have for y'all from Skull Island, now let's get to the world in between worlds, the
06:09Axis Mundi.
06:10The Bramble Boar, seen in Legacy of Monsters, comes in at 5 to 10 feet in size, that's around 2
06:16to 4 meters.
06:17The Frost Vark, once it escaped onto the surface world, was able to be measured at 50 to 75 feet
06:23in size, 15 to 23 meters.
06:25The Endopede Newborn Brood may have been roughly the size of a beach ball, but the adults could reach sizes
06:31of 50 to 70 feet, 15 to 22 meters.
06:35Now we've made it to the Hollow Earth, the land of unlimited possibilities.
06:40Here's a pretty big one actually, if you thought the Warbat was a Titan, guess again, this is a form
06:45of megafauna, and not technically a Titan.
06:48Which is wild considering these things are 350 to 450 feet in size, that's around 106 to 137 meters.
06:56Another beast that might surprise you here for not being a Titan, the Drowned Viper.
07:02680 to 860 feet, 207 to 262 meters give or take in total length.
07:08Remember the giant fish that Godzilla turned inside out?
07:11The King Broodfish was 180 to 220 feet, 54 to 67 meters in total size.
07:18About half the size of the G-Man.
07:20Back in the 80's this would have been a sick name for a metal band, but now the Hell Hawks
07:25of the Monsterverse will have to do.
07:27They come in at 8 to 12 feet in size, that's around 2 to 4 meters.
07:32The Spine Prowler is another monster where size inconsistency once again arises in its comic book appearance.
07:39Said to be 60 to 80 feet in size, that's around 18 to 24 meters.
07:43But in some shots it has to be much larger.
07:47Still a pretty cool creature though.
07:49Next up is the Wart Dog.
07:51The Monarch Fieldbook says these grow to be 30 to 60 feet, 9 to 18 meters in size.
07:56But I'm not sure if that means height or length.
07:58Actually this entire info drop on the sizes of the beasts only ever says size.
08:04Which isn't really the best way to describe something.
08:07Are they 30 to 60 feet tall or long?
08:10I don't know, you tell me.
08:11And I know I've bashed them for being inconsistent like 73 times already in this video.
08:16And now this, but if you sell a product for a good bit of money.
08:20These sorts of things need to be properly addressed I feel like.
08:24And next I'll address the Tree Mimic.
08:266 to 8 feet, 2 to 3 meters in diameter across the mouth like opening there.
08:31In the Vertecines from the New Empire.
08:33These flying electrical creatures could reach sizes up to 10 to 20 feet, 3 to 7 meters give or take.
08:39The Parrot Frog who got Kong all worked up was bigger than you or I.
08:446 to 8 feet in size, 2 to 3 meters.
08:47You guys remember the crab creature that Doug made a meal out of in Godzilla vs Kong.
08:52The Rock Claw was about 20 to 30 feet, 7 to 10 meters.
08:55Which goes to show you just how big Doug is actually.
08:59And if you want to know what Doug's size is, you're just going to have to wait for the next
09:03video when I go over the updated sizes for the Titans of the Monstaverse.
09:07Yeah, Doug's an official Titan.
09:09Or you can go ahead and get your own copy of the Monarch Files book.
09:12For those of you who stuck with me throughout this whole video, thanks a ton.
09:16I hope to see you again in Dangerville.
09:18As always, this has been Jacob and I'll see you in the next one.
09:23Outro music.
09:24Outro music.
