00:04Welcome home residents, it's your mate Alistair reporting live from Dangerville HQ, and we have some huge Godzilla news for
00:11you, including an update on the borderline mythical Shin Godzilla 2, more Minus Zero drops, including a new trailer date,
00:17and even new details about GXK Supernova, that might actually reveal a bit too much information if you ask me.
00:27To start off, let's get straight into Shin Godzilla 2. Now if you remember last year, we actually reported on
00:33whispers of a sequel to the 2016 film entering pre-production, but since then it's gone pretty much silent, until
00:39now.
00:40Because according to insiders, Shin Godzilla 2 is expected to begin production with filming starting in November. Hideaki Anno is
00:49said to be involved in the production, potentially as a co-director, with the original leads Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenuchi,
00:56and Satomi Ishihara returning in the sequel.
00:59But we'll get some new faces as well, notably Tatsuku Emoto, who you might recognize from Shin Kamen Rider, and
01:07even Minami Hamabe from Godzilla Minus Zero, who will star in new roles.
01:12Toho has declined to comment on whether Shin Godzilla 2 is happening, which isn't confirmation it's not happening. However, steak
01:19always tastes better with a pinch of salt, so take that into consideration.
01:22But this, on top of the news we got last year, it does incline me to believe the sequel will
01:27indeed happen.
01:28But what would it even be about? Shin Godzilla was about the politicians' slow reaction to the Fukushima disaster.
01:34So what would a sequel be about in relation to that? Would it be about wider climate change? Could we
01:39see Godzilla released and weaponized by mankind?
01:42It's honestly all up in the air, but I can't even imagine how they'll tackle his evolutions.
01:46Will we get to see the human forms in motion? That would be horrifying, and honestly, I'd be down.
01:52All Godzilla ever was was a reflection of the sins of humanity, and what better way to personify it than
01:58having Godzilla take the physical form of mankind?
02:01Yeah, it's like poetry, it's sort of, they rhyme.
02:03Subscribe!
02:04Moving on to Minus Zero, Toho has announced the final trailer will be dropping on Sunday.
02:10So expect some epic new shots of Godzilla, and potentially even Ghidorah.
02:15Though I wouldn't be surprised if they just save that for after the release, Ghidorah's design will be published on
02:20the front page of a Japanese magazine on the 10th of November.
02:24Which makes me think they'll just keep it secret.
02:26But also in Minus Zero news, Godzilla has broken another record, and now has the biggest popcorn bucket ever.
02:33Just look at this monster, this thing is massive.
02:37Now, this is very cool, mainly because of the design.
02:40But this monstrosity costs $100, and with tax it's nearly $150.
02:47That's insane!
02:48I could get five Lunar figures for that price!
02:50You can get a proper Godzilla collectible for that price, and it will look way better, and won't immediately be
02:56ruined by someone lathering butter popcorn on it.
02:58This just seems like an insane purchase to me.
03:01When will you ever need to use this?
03:03Anyway, I'm buying five of them.
03:04We also have a bunch of new posters for the different premium formats Minus Zero will be playing in.
03:10And they really went all out.
03:12The IMAX one, especially with the burning orange fire, is just intense.
03:17I need this hung up in my office now!
03:19The Dolby one is also pretty cool and is totally different than any of the previous ones.
03:23Sporting this clean blue aesthetic, with Godzilla pulling this kind of funny raw pose.
03:28Godzilla Minus Zero will be the first movie to hit $10 Godzillion dollars!
03:33The D-Box one as well is super different, featuring this two-toned golden blue color palette,
03:38clearly referencing the golden devil with three heads, and the king of the monsters.
03:43And there's also this wild one with Godzilla front and center, roaring with these almost trippy yellow streaks surrounding him,
03:50which I think are meant to be representative of Ghidorah's gravity beams.
03:53Some really cool stuff here, I need them all hung up on my wall in my house.
03:57Now.
03:58Now!
03:58Now moving over to the MonsterVerse, we're expecting some big reveals in the coming days,
04:03since Godzilla X-Kong Supernova had a big presence at the Brand Licensing Expo in London.
04:09This event took place from the 6th to the 8th of October, so we should naturally expect to see big
04:14things soon.
04:15And if they're behind closed doors, then, like the other MonsterVerse films, will most likely eventually leak out.
04:22Remember Mechagodzilla, anyone?
04:23There's also the China Licensing Expo on the 21st to 23rd of October, which will likely come with something new
04:29regarding the film,
04:31whether that a new teaser or poster.
04:33So expect big reveals this month.
04:35Rocket Licensing is also expected to handle the licensing for Supernova in the land of tea and crumpets.
04:41Mordor!
04:42Also known as the UK.
04:43They're expecting a huge influx of companies in the UK interested in the film,
04:48which may be an indication that Supernova is about to be the biggest film in the series to date.
04:54While we're in the UK, character options will also serve as the distributor for Playmates Toys' upcoming Supernova line.
05:00And speaking of toys, Just Play and Toy Monster will produce new figures for Supernova.
05:06Just Play seems to make plush toys, so I guess expect to see new Kong, Godzilla or Space Godzilla toys
05:12coming.
05:12And Toy Monster seems to make these small collectibles, so I imagine we'll get something similar to this Jurassic World
05:18merch.
05:19Jada Toys is also returning.
05:21They made that big remote-controlled Godzilla Evolve toy, which was like the best thing ever.
05:26So I imagine they'll make an updated version with Godzilla's new design.
05:29Or maybe even Space Godzilla, which I will need now.
05:32Give it me now, right now!
05:33Legendary is also seeking to expand into more innovative consumer markets and offline experiences for Godzilla X-Kong Supernova,
05:40which may imply we'll be getting some serious viral marketing events for Supernova leading up to its release.
05:47For the new Empire, we of course have this huge statue in London, but if they can build a massive
05:52Space Godzilla statue, I think I'd have to live inside it.
05:55While all this might seem like pretty boring licensing news on the surface, it actually suggests that something big is
06:01coming soon,
06:02with multiple companies already preparing for whatever major announcement or release is on the horizon.
06:08In even more Supernova news, Legendary is preparing the Kickstarter for the graphic novel tie-in that will connect with
06:14the upcoming MonsterVerse film.
06:16It will likely be a prequel leading up to the event of Supernova, as we've had with the previous tie
06:20-ins.
06:21Now these comics do end up being pretty good, but come on.
06:25This is a multi-billion dollar franchise.
06:27Does Legendary seriously need to keep using the fanbase to push this?
06:31It honestly feels a bit like a slap in the face.
06:33But because we keep supporting it, they keep doing it.
06:36But I'm hoping the prequel delves into the origins of Space Godzilla, at least.
06:40That would be pretty cool.
06:41Not that we're even meant to know he's in it.
06:43Legendary still hasn't technically confirmed it.
06:45We also have a brand new synopsis for the film that gives us tons of new information,
06:50that some might find to be a bit spoilery.
06:52So just in case you want to go in completely blind, here's a spoiler warning for you.
06:57Click to this timestamp or just go watch another one of our videos.
07:00Still here? Let's dive in.
07:02Let's go!
07:14Now this sounds pretty epic and does also seem to confirm the leaks we have previously been through last year.
07:21Especially in relation to a certain Titan has the ability to drain Earth's core energy.
07:26If you know, you know. Probably the most exciting aspect is this dangerous new landscape.
07:31What could this mean?
07:33Could this be talking about a completely crystalline hellscape created by Space Godzilla?
07:38Or could this even be another planet entirely?
07:41Whatever it is, the words cosmic nightmare sounds absolutely insane for a Godzilla film.
07:46And I just can't wait to see it.
07:48Of course that is epic, but I need to address that Grant Sputore, the director for Supernova,
07:54has recently reactivated his Instagram account following its deactivation last year.
07:59Not only this, but the official GXK account seems to be firing up again,
08:04which tells us that everyone involved in the film is preparing to market and promote Supernova.
08:09We could get a trailer ahead of Minus Zero, which would make sense.
08:13Get the audience to see the trailer for the next big budget Godzilla film at a new Godzilla release?
08:18Everyone's already sold.
08:19But we could actually get to see something even sooner.
08:22Only time will tell, but this is pretty telling.
08:27And now we have some extra throbbing breaking news that's come straight out of Toho.
08:31A brand new teaser for the upcoming Tokusatsu Godzilla film has been revealed.
08:36And Jacob's here to say, I told you so.
08:38So take it away, Jacob.
08:39Something about seeing this Godzilla in the dark.
08:42Like, if this was real, guys, and all you see is the burning glow in the darkness,
08:48man, I hope the image of that in your mind is as cool as what I'm seeing.
08:53This is what I was seeing.
08:56And yeah, I did tell y'all it wouldn't look this good.
08:59There's only about 20 seconds of footage to go over here,
09:01so this will be a quick breakdown.
09:03You okay with that, Al?
09:04What? No. No. No. You can't. No. Absolutely no.
09:07All right. Witness the G-Man, everyone.
09:09I wish I was this cool.
09:11First off, 10 out of 10 visual masterpiece here.
09:14I don't give a damn that this is a suit.
09:16This is freaking cool.
09:17So the images I talked about in my recent video were more like posters or set photos,
09:22so we didn't see the final true design of Godzilla.
09:24And dang, man, the actual footage in the teaser is somehow even better looking.
09:29The shot is set up and designed to make Godzilla glow,
09:31and really showcases that new epic burning Goshi suit with the new lights built in.
09:36And I think here in the teaser that we are seeing these lights with some CGI editing thrown on
09:41to really bring this design to a new level.
09:43I already told you guys how cool this Goshi is, so I don't want to do that again.
09:47But yeah, it's beautifully gnarly.
09:49What do you think, Al?
09:50Yeah, that thing is hot.
09:51Like, sexy hot.
09:52Like, I want to do diabolical things to that.
09:54So I did use the YouTube translator to see what was being said in the trailer,
09:58so here's the super rough translation that YouTube gave me,
10:02which you guys can go check out on your own time if you go to the teaser,
10:05and I'll make sure we leave a link for you to the teaser down below.
10:08So it seems some form of wormhole has emerged above Tokyo, and it doesn't sound good.
10:14You can hear the tension in the actors' voices,
10:16and how they are almost bickering with one another trying to figure out how to survive this kaiju-sized event.
10:22One of them then mentions how it's possible Godzilla has reached his burning state
10:26from absorbing energy from another dimension, I guess from this wormhole?
10:31I'm not sure there.
10:33But they intend to use Godzilla's other dimensional energy, I guess,
10:36to collide with this said wormhole, and I imagine collapse it?
10:41Get rid of both problems.
10:42One of them then mentions how doing this will turn Tokyo into a sea of sunlight,
10:47and I don't think in a nice kind of way.
10:50And then, well, Godzilla does his whole mic drop thing.
10:54Well, I'm sold. Back to Al.
10:57Thank you, Jacob. I love you.
10:59So we have Shin Godzilla 2 potentially filming next month,
11:03Godzilla X-Kong Supernova Merge and Synopsis News,
11:05and just to add on to it, Miner Zero's final trailer is dropping imminently.
11:10There is just so much to look forward to as fans of the G-Man.
11:13And while this Supernova update might sound like small bits of news,
11:16this actually confirms something huge.
11:19We're likely to get promotional material for Supernova even sooner than we thought,
11:23with licensors, brand expos, accounts becoming active, and the new synopsis,
11:28it seems like we could get anything from new posters to a new teaser within the month.
11:33But which was your favorite news?
11:35Shin Goji 2?
11:36Or Supernova?
11:37Or even Miner Zero?
11:39Which gets you the most hyped?
